We saw Dr Beckie who was so kind and gentle with our 14 y/o pup. They were able to do all of the lab in house so we got the results within a half hour. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. I've been going to the Small Animal Hospital since 1988 when I first took my working Malinois to see the doctor. Since that time until now, they have grown in size. The employees and doctors have always been professional, helpful, quick and knowledgeable. The location is clean on the outside and inside. With all of the animals traveling in and out of the building the office area and outside yard is kept clean to protect you and your pets. I just got my puppy a couple days ago, I took her here on the recommendation of a friend for her second set of shots and I was a bit Stressed because I’m already very protective of her and want to make sure she’s getting exactly what she needs to be healthy. I have been a client for years+ at Chino Hills Animal Hospital. At present I have 4 fur babies that go there-one that is very elderly. Dr. Gonzalez who is my vet is AMAZING!!! She's caring and sensitive and extremely knowledgeable. The staff is equally the same. I live in Glendora and have lots of choices of vets but Chino Hills is second to none. Don't let the odd location confuse or deter you. This hospital is extremely well equipped. The aesthetic alone is very nice, modern, and clean. The doctors and technicians as well as the reception staff are all super nice, helpful, and accommodating. They have great packages too for new pets and young pets. I brought my 1 yr old cat luna in for limping. I had just adopted her and was not sure what the problem was. The Dr were straight forward with me and worked with me to come up with a plan for her healing. They told me the prices upfront and even helped me get a clump of matted fur out. I noticed one of my baby buns, Knight with erythema (redness) on her eyes and eyelids, with sticky crusty discharge and got worried as she seemed a lot less energetic than usual. She completely ignored her favorite rattle ball... A few years ago a similar issue happened with one of my older bunnies so I immediately wanted to get a vet appointment. Unfortunately, the vet that usually sees my bunnies Dr. Moon is no longer at Banfield Pet Hospital... managed to get an appointment here and Knight was seen today by Dr. Brauer. After a short wait on getting checked in at the front desk, Dr. Brauer checked Knight and explained to us that she was hesitant in prescribing an antibiotic since it looks like the redness is resolving and it might just be irritated due to the new timothy hay I tried at home. Dr. Brauer was very pleasant and was also very patient with my other baby bun, Harley who is very feisty. She assured us that she was available tomorrow (Saturday) in case of an emergency such as if Knight stops eating or defecating.... Dr. Brauer also recommended that I get my older bunnies (Mochi is five, and Peaches is four) to get spayed as they are at risk for ovarian cancer. Overall a pleasant experience since its quite difficult to find a veterinarian that is experienced in treating rabbits in the Chino area.Read Less

I have always owned giant breed dogs and it is very difficult to find a vet that understands and appreciates these breeds, much less one that actually knows how to take care of them (they are different from smaller dogs). I have been so happy with the care my babies have received here but it's not just their competency, it's that personal touch that makes this place so great. This summer when one of my dogs had reached the end of her years and passed, they not only sent me the condolence card that you would usually get from a vet, but they personalized it with her paw print stamped on a small piece of card stock placed sweetly inside the card. It was so thoughtful, and showed such love and reverence for her and acknowledgement of what she meant to us. I found my cat stuck in the cat door. She couldn't move her back legs and was in obvious pain and discomfort. My brother has taken his animals to you guys for some time and suggested I do the same. Your staff was kind, professional, courteous... understanding... everything we needed. Unfortunately, our Angel was in some poor shape and ultimately we made the difficult choice to have her euthanized. She wasn't going to get better, and she was in pain. My mom and I have been coming to CHSAH for many years. We've had cats and rats (yes, rats!) examined, poked, prodded, cut, healed and put down. The doctors and staff are 100% caring and compassionate of you and your furbaby. Last fall, my daughter had her first pet ever put to eternal sleep. Lisa offered comfort and options to dispose of the body and memorial keepsakes, if desired. We accepted the final resting procedure and waited patiently for our pet to be returned to us. Meanwhile, a bereavement card, hand signed by the staff, and little inked paw prints on card stock were delivered to us while we waited for the remains. So thoughtful! We have been taking our 2 dogs here for a couple of years. After receiving poor care from two other chino hills vets it has been such a pleasure to deal with chino hills small animal hospital and ALL of their staff! They have been so helpful and informative. Everyone we have dealt with from reception to vet assistants to the vets themselves have been so caring and nurturing! They all seem to be in a great mood I think because they are doing what they love! Their patience with my very stubborn dog is priceless! They have micro chipped one of my dogs so far and explained how to register the chips and submit the paperwork to our city for reimbursement which I had no idea was available! Recently they helped save our dog from a dark chocolate poisoning incident which I admit cost a pretty penny but they were professional and worked hard to help save her. I've been coming here for 16 years! My baby just turned 16 on Oct 22! Dr. Clark is the best! He neutered my baby and 15 years later removed a mass on his anal gland. He usually sees Dr. Brauer and we love her. I've since moved out of the area, but don't mind driving 30 miles one way to continue going here for the last 10 years! That says a lot. We have been a customer here for approx. 20 years & have had small issue over the years the front office staff have never been that friendly & not the sharpest. On our recent visit we took my youngest dog Blaze to see Dr. Brauer because we noticed when she was eating a raw hide there was a small amount of blood. Dr. Brauer examined Blaze & told me that Blaze had a fractured tooth and they could either have a root canal done or the tooth extracted. I requested the tooth extraction & Dr. Brauer told me that while there is just a small amount of plaque on Blaze teeth that she recommended having the teeth cleaned while blaze was under sedation, which I agreed. On 2/10/14 when I arrived to pick Blaze up I was told by the Dental Tech(Tracy) that she could not find anything wrong with Blaze's teeth, that Blaze was good enough to allow her to check her teeth 5 or 6 times and found nothing wrong with the teeth and that in her opinion Blaze did not even need them cleaned, yet she still went ahead & administered the anesthesia and did what I do not know since Tracy told me that there was nothing wrong with Blaze's teeth. What could she have extracted or cleaned?? This is not the first issue we have experienced with Dr. Theresa Brauer but it will be the last and as others have stated in there reviews & in our opinion Dr. Theresa Brauer should not be treating any animals large or small! Blaze should never have been put through this traumatic experience & would not have been if she was examined properly to begin with. aka R. Wayne Clark & Associates, aka Chino Hills Equine Hospital. They are only out to make money from doing unnecessary testing. They use intimidation and scare tactics to make you think your pet will die if you do not do their tests. They pressure you into doing tests and promise that the test will give answers. After spending over $1,200 on tests and over a month in wasted time at this vet, they were still unable to diagnose my pet! I finally took my pet to a professional who gave an accurate diagnosis in one afternoon. I will never be back here and I encourage all to find another place to take your pet. These people will only lie to you, suck your money dry, and will not give you any answers. They have also refused to provide any documents that I have requested such as a document that I signed approving services to be rendered. I requested this because I do not remember signing such a form. They will not let me see my chart of medical records for any of the animals I have taken there. The staff is uncooperative and they lie. I regret with my whole heart ever stepping foot in this place! For the safety of your furry companion, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!! BEWARE of FAKE reviews! The staff of this company is known to post their own reviews online. Of course, they give themselves 5 stars and glowing reviews. Watch out for brief reviews that praise the overall experience at the vet, including surgeries. I have been going to this vet for 20 years now and would recommend them highly. I brought my cat there first and when he died I got 2 small dogs who have gone there for 12 years each until one passed away and the other still goes there. They have 1/2 price on vacinations on certain days as long as they have been examined in the previous year. I usually see Dr Clark who started the facility and he is a wonderful man with a "way" with all animals, but he is in surgery a lot. I have also seen Dr Gonzales who is very good but you need to ask her all questions until you are satisfied; she is on the quiet side. The facility is very clean and well kept, no smells or anything. My only complaint is the young girls who work up front. They aren't always as understanding and perceptive as they could be, but it is hard to find good help and keep them these days anywhere. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a good vet. Read Less

I took my cat in in August 2010. He had a sort of attack, he was drooling, was defecating in an uncontrollable manner, and crying. When I took him in they charged me 60 or so dollars (could be 80) due to the fact that they considered I did not have an appointment. They called it an emergency fee, the regular fee is around 20 bucks. There were no people waiting and regardless they still made me wait. When the female "veterinarian" with glasses, white lady came and examined the cat she immediately said he was ok and nothing was wrong and immediately pushed for blood work rather than examine him. He wasn't ok obviously. She kept pushing for bloodwork and x-rays which would total over 900 dollars, but apparently he was ok! My cat did calm down and his condition was stabilized.I want to note that the "veterinarian" didn't even RECOMMEND ANY MEDICATION. He stabilized but over the months started to deteriorate. He started losing weight and soon I took him for a second opinion. I took him elsewhere for a second opinion, Dr. Choi on Central. The bloodwork and work he was going to do on my cat dramatically dropped from 900 to 300. Dr. Choi did prescribe us medication which improved his condition. Unfortunately his condition was too advanced and died on the floor of the living room. My cat was with me for 15 years. It boils my blood to think about what they did. I had actually written something much harsher but due to the legality and the probable misinterpretation of the original review I heavily edited it. I think this pretty much sums up what a despicable human beings and lack of knowledge these so-called veterinarians have. Read Less

I was referred here as I recently adopted a hamster that has overgrown teeth and is having trouble eating. I called ahead and was told, sure we can trim the teeth for $10-15 without an appointment, come in after 3pm and we can take him right away. When I arrived and signed in, they reiterated the same information again. I waited for more than an hour before they took my hamster in a back room and came right back out to tell me, sorry but we don't specialize in hamsters (even though they are a SMALL ANIMAL hospital and said they did) and in order to get his teeth trimmed, I would have to make an appointment for a later date which would cost upwards of $50. I told them I cannot wait because if the hamster could not eat, it would surely die. The assistant asked to see how bad the teeth were and when showed said, ""they aren't sticking out of his mouth so it looks okay"". Anyone who knows anything about hamsters knows that overgrown teeth grow UP into the skull literally impaling the hamster, not OUT of the mouth. As it is my hamsters teeth are cutting into it's tongue. They are entirely UNQUALIFIED, completely UNPROFESSIONAL and UNCARING. Do not bring your pet here if you want it to be seen as anything more than a money-generating unit by an inexperienced and unethical staff. Read Less
