A dog will let you know when they do not like a place. I have four dogs and they never give us a hard time at Country Animal Clinic. Furthermore, they are well taken care of by the veterinarian and the veterinarian technicians. I have recommended this clinic to others because they truly care for the animals they are working with, they are very thorough, they explain the process, they are patient with the animals, and they work with the owners. Dr Gene and his staff are very good. I have used his facility for a few years now and they have been exceptionally professional and caring. Dr Gene takes a personal interest and called me to follow up after my dog had a serious illness just to check on her. I will never go back to this place again. Gave one price over the phone and charged almost double when I went in. Didn't figure it out until I was checking out. Told them my wife was quoted a lower price over the phone and the lady said "I don't know what to tell you" in a very condescending tone of voice. I have always had animals and therefore have made many visits to many different vet's offices. Dr. Metzger has on many occasions made comments to me that show that he is more interested in the health of the animal than in making money! I know that everyone has to make a living and that it is a business but when your animal is suffering you don't want to be "sold" a service that might not be needed like my last vet in Long Beach where it was ALL about the money! We are not Dr's and we have to trust that the tests etc that the Dr. tells us that our animals need are valid. I have never felt like what the Dr. is saying isn't the truth and he makes me feel very at ease and I totally trust his opinion.
