Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. We couldn't ask for better nor would We! They always leave us feeling like we are in the best care scenario for our pets and like we are good parents to them. If I could give them six stars I would!We brought in our thirteen year old, male diabetic cat to Dr Henrickson (I think? I'm terrible with names.) due to skin problems he's been having lately. Although the normal course of action in this case would be to give the cat a steroid to reduce inflammation and itching, he told us it could affect his blood glucose levels and that's the last thing we want. He gave us antibiotics instead and we will be starting treatment tonight. He listened to me when I told him I felt that my cat's back legs were becoming lame and he told me the best course of action would be a fructosamine curve which would tell the tale of his blood sugar level for the last two to three weeks...without just automatically setting me up for an appointment. He did say it cost more than a glucose curve (about 100) so I'll call later and find out and get it done ASAP. I super appreciate that he told us about getting him a fructosamine curve instead of a regular glucose curve. Our cat is on Lantus which is slow release and doesn't actually produce a curve. He told us all about how unreliable vet tested glucose curves could be because it's a higher stress environment for cats. He obviously understands diabetes in cats and knew immediately at least what not to do and was happy to communicate this with us. I love when people just tell me what's going on even if it isn't much in the grand scheme of everything. I appreciate what I felt wasn't a great deal of pressure to do everything now. Like just being there alone was good. I'm a full time college student and only work part time without financial aid. It's incredible I've kept my cat going this long with an expensive insulin. I appreciate too that the whole staff seems to know that whenever my husband and I are able, will always do the right thing. I feel respected here and welcome. I should also mention that aside from the staff being outright great every time we've been here the prices are reasonable compared to other places. It's nice too that you can tell that the people who work here are very accustomed to animals. They are genuinely kind and caring for them and hearing the staff talk to them is common. They are welcoming to everyone be they two legged or four. Love you friggin' people!

Best place in the sacto area to take your furry kiddos! Dr. Henricks was the 2010-2011 President of the California Veterinary Medical Association. We have also visited his Colleague Dr Brickson! We love them both and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. We've been loyal clients for 13 years. They've never steered us wrong and the fees are very reasonable!

I have been breeding Yorkie's and using a different Vet Clinic for over 18 years and have been extremely happy with the Vets and all team members! We had an urgent need for our little Yorkie and unfortunately they were unable to fit us into their schedule without it being a very high cost. At my son's recommendation, I contacted Citrus Heights Vet Clinic and they worked diligently to fit us into their crowded schedule. Dr Brickson and her team went right to work and they all stayed overtime to take care of my little dog. Never once making me feel rushed! The following morning, Dr Brickson had to perform surgery on our little 4 pound dog and she (little Ruby) came through with flying colors. And they were able to do so at less than 1/2 the cost of our regular vet. Citrus Heights Vet Clinic has just gained new patients!

We got a new puppy and needed to get her shots and evaluation. I randomly called CHPH because we recently moved and they're close to our new house. I needed a late evening appointment because of work and was immediately accommodated on the following Wednesday. The front staff were awesome and very attentive. Dr. Garfield was very thorough on his exam and spent a lot of time with our new puppy. His bedside manner was very appreciated. He even detected a slight heart murmur on our 10 week old, in spite of all her wiggles. The puppy was also microchipped in that exam and the staff made sure I registered her and input all the info while I was there to be certain it didn't get overseen. That exceeded customer service. We will definitely stay with CHPH for all our veterinarian needs. Thank you Dr. Garfield and staff.

The staff and Dr. Garfield are absolutely amazing! They are always happy to see our dog and even bring him a blanket as he hates slick floors. Seeing how great they treat our old boy warms my heart and I trust them to make the right decision in the level of care needed. They also have late evening appointments available, which is very convenient for our household. I highly recommend bringing your animals here for wonderful and high quality care. The above average customer service is a huge plus.

Love this place. We see Dr. Brickson she is awesome as well as her techs. We have a savannah which if you know one, you know they are the most energetic jumpy big strong hybrid cats. We have gone to a few of the vets in this area before we found our place here. None I would refer. Everyone here is so animal friendly and they all have the passion it takes to calm a nervous animal. My son in law is the only one besides Dr. Brickson and her techs that can even hold Cleo for any lengthy time. Nope ... I can't even hold her for long. She wiggles and squirms and will eventual over power me and get away. She is a one man kitty. Here they have managed on even the first visit I want to add to win her over. I am so grateful they took the time to care for her. They get out her swaddle blankie when she gets there and they tell her how petty she is. Cooing and talking softly. Yes... Cleo eats it up she truly feels comfortable. Very very difficult for this kitty. I know there's no better vet in this area. I sure wish we would have found them sooner. We found them and that's what matters. We have now had numerous visits and we stand by our review. Oh and they always fit you in for appointments no long waiting times. They are also especially good with after care is very important to them with lots of caring calls to see how everyone is doing after visits. I just love everyone here. You will too.

Brought our family cat here to get spayed and vaccinated, under the impression that the service would have been around $150. Expensive, but it was doable and important. I didn't want her to have kittens. One of the vet's assistant's that helped me was nice enough but very neurotic. A second assistant came in with a quote and they wanted over $600, which included a lot of extra optional services. I felt a lot of pressure, guilt, and additional worry because I did not accept most of the extra services. One example is a blood work test they wanted me to let them do to see if she would be good under anesthesia, and they weren't shy about reminding me multiple times that she could die. After expressing that their services were really expensive, they suggested I get CareCredit, which I was against at first but my husband and I tried it anyway. Don't apply for CareCredit. Read the reviews, we had a very similar, horrible experience with it immediately afterwards. It cost over $300 to get the cat all fixed up with a $50 exam fee, spay, vaccines, and guilted us into a $25 single flea treatment. More guilt on the way out by the same neurotic assistant that helped us the night before because I had a cat leash and a box for her rather than a carrier. It was embarrassing to have her sit there and grill me about it in front of other customers. I literally felt like they thought I didn't love my cat. Cat ended up being just fine and dandy in the end. but I was pissed. After doing some price comparisons elsewhere, we were charged more than twice what other good, neighboring vets or the SPCA would have. We will not be back.

My review is solely based on phone etiquette and responsiveness. I contacted CH Pet Hospital after 4 other local pet hospitals inquiring about OSS. Sandra was the first person to answer my call in a polite and professional manner. She wasn't able to answer my question but rather than dismissing me she took my name and number to confirm with the Doctor. She quickly called me back and although they do not perform the procedure they referred me to another location. After a multitude of previous and continued calls after I spoke to Sandra who were either, rude, short, had no idea what I was talking about or clearly prejudiced against the procedure, she was a complete pleasure to talk to. I will keep this in mind for future services needed.

You get the small town closeness from Dr. Averi Brickson, a real feeling that she DOES care. They do not gouge you for money either. It's normal procedures and pricing. Took our pomeranian Kara El there this week and last month and they called for a follow up just wanting to know how she was doing. Could you ask for more? Highly recommend and thinking I need to take these people cookies. Best staff there, best Vet!

The doctors here really do care about your pets, and treat them like family. My cat Mr. Belvedere is suffering from urinary symptoms, and they have gone above and beyond to ensure that he gets the help he needs without breaking the bank. I really have to give major credit to the veterinary student currently interning at the clinic, named Sean. He is going to be a GREAT vet, and it's too bad he won't be practicing here or he'd already have his first loyal client!

These guys were my knights in shining armor! My sweet pug was stung by a wasp (who I am currently seeking vigilante justice on with some RAID) and she quickly went into anaphylactic shock. While rushing her to the emergency vet I hit that fabulous Auburn construction traffic. Knowing time was not on my side at the moment, I asked for help from the Man upstairs and it was like the ocean parted ways and there in the center was Citrus Heights Pet Hospital, a place I have driven by numerous times and never gave a second thought. I rush in, dog in one arm and kiddo in the other, exclaiming "my pug is in anaphylactic shock!" I'm sure this was a sight to see. They immediately grabbed my fur baby and saved her! I am sure this could have been a tragedy if they hadn't been there. Not only did they save my girl, but they let me stay with her once she was stable and were so warm and welcoming! I usually go to Loomis Basin, also wonderful, but these guys are a lot closer and I truly appreciate what they did for my family. Those of you with fur kids know, they are family and unconditionally loved. Oh and the surprising part of all this...$200! It would have been way more elsewhere. Our pug actually wasn't done having this reaction once we got her home and still had to go the pet ED, but she probably wouldn't have made it if it weren't for this wonderful hospital. I would highly recommend them! Very pleased with our care there and we'll be back:)

He doesn't feel comfortable being at a vet. The vet does NOT have a good customer service skill. If have to take my dogs to a vet on the weekend, I'd definitely take them to different vet. It'd be great if Dr. Henricks or Dr. Brickson works on the weekend. Dr. Brickson is nice as well. Only the weekend vet isn't good!! I'd give 4.5 stars if the weekend vet is polite, but she is rude. So, that makes it 2.5.

I used to love this place when I would be able to see Dr. Hendricks. Now I am only able to go on the weekends and the woman that works there on the weekends is horrible. Not only do I feel like I'm talking to a salesman, but she's also extremely rude. She even snapped at my dog just because he was uncomfortable with her inspecting his mouth (he didn't snap at her or growl or anything, was just uncomfortable and squirmy). When I tried to calm him, she was extremely sarcastic with me and told me he needs to be trained better, (even though I've never had issues with vets before with him). I've had pets all my life and this is the first vet I've ever encountered who yelled at my pet! I saw her several times before ultimately deciding I had to change vets (had hoped the first couple of times she was just having a bad day, but I was wrong!). If you can go during the week and see Dr. Henrdicks, I'd recommend it, but if you're like me and can usually only do weekends for shots and check ups, my advice is, go elsewhere! I did and am much happier with my new vet than this rude woman. Note: If I was only rating Dr. Hendricks I would have given this place 5 stars. If I was only rating her, I'd give it a 1.

He listened to me when I told him I felt that my cat's back legs were becoming lame and he told me the best course of action would be a fructosamine curve which would tell the tale of his blood sugar level for the last two to three weeks...without just automatically setting me up for an appointment. He did say it cost more than a glucose curve (about 100) so I'll call later and find out and get it done ASAP. I super appreciate that he told us about getting him a fructosamine curve instead of a regular glucose curve. Our cat is on Lantus which is slow release and doesn't actually produce a curve. He told us all about how unreliable vet tested glucose curves could be because it's a higher stress environment for cats. He obviously understands diabetes in cats and knew immediately at least what not to do and was happy to communicate this with us. I love when people just tell me what's going on even if it isn't much in the grand scheme of everything. I appreciate what I felt wasn't a great deal of pressure to do everything now. Like just being there alone was good. I'm a full time college student and only work part time without financial aid. It's incredible I've kept my cat going this long with an expensive insulin. I appreciate too that the whole staff seems to know that whenever my husband and I are able, will always do the right thing. I feel respected here and welcome. I should also mention that aside from the staff being outright great every time we've been here the prices are reasonable compared to other places. It's nice too that you can tell that the people who work here are very accustomed to animals. They are genuinely kind and caring for them and hearing the staff talk to them is common. They are welcoming to everyone be they two legged or four. Love you friggin' people!

I have been breeding Yorkie's and using a different Vet Clinic for over 18 years and have been extremely happy with the Vets and all team members! We had an urgent need for our little Yorkie and unfortunately they were unable to fit us into their schedule without it being a very high cost. At my son's recommendation, I contacted Citrus Heights Vet Clinic and they worked diligently to fit us into their crowded schedule. Dr Brickson and her team went right to work and they all stayed overtime to take care of my little dog. Never once making me feel rushed! The following morning, Dr Brickson had to perform surgery on our little 4 pound dog and she (little Ruby) came through with flying colors. And they were able to do so at less than 1/2 the cost of our regular vet. Citrus Heights Vet Clinic has just gained new patients!

We got a new puppy and needed to get her shots and evaluation. I randomly called CHPH because we recently moved and they're close to our new house. I needed a late evening appointment because of work and was immediately accommodated on the following Wednesday. The front staff were awesome and very attentive. Dr. Garfield was very thorough on his exam and spent a lot of time with our new puppy. His bedside manner was very appreciated. He even detected a slight heart murmur on our 10 week old, in spite of all her wiggles. The puppy was also microchipped in that exam and the staff made sure I registered her and input all the info while I was there to be certain it didn't get overseen. That exceeded customer service. We will definitely stay with CHPH for all our veterinarian needs. Thank you Dr. Garfield and staff.

Seeing how great they treat our old boy warms my heart and I trust them to make the right decision in the level of care needed. They also have late evening appointments available, which is very convenient for our household. I highly recommend bringing your animals here for wonderful and high quality care. The above average customer service is a huge plus.

Love this place. We see Dr. Brickson she is awesome as well as her techs. We have a savannah which if you know one, you know they are the most energetic jumpy big strong hybrid cats. We have gone to a few of the vets in this area before we found our place here. None I would refer. Everyone here is so animal friendly and they all have the passion it takes to calm a nervous animal. My son in law is the only one besides Dr. Brickson and her techs that can even hold Cleo for any lengthy time. Nope ... I can't even hold her for long. She wiggles and squirms and will eventual over power me and get away. She is a one man kitty. Here they have managed on even the first visit I want to add to win her over. I am so grateful they took the time to care for her. They get out her swaddle blankie when she gets there and they tell her how petty she is. Cooing and talking softly. Yes... Cleo eats it up she truly feels comfortable. Very very difficult for this kitty. I know there's no better vet in this area. I sure wish we would have found them sooner. We found them and that's what matters. We have now had numerous visits and we stand by our review. Oh and they always fit you in for appointments no long waiting times. They are also especially good with after care is very important to them with lots of caring calls to see how everyone is doing after visits. I just love everyone here. You will too.

Brought our family cat here to get spayed and vaccinated, under the impression that the service would have been around $150. Expensive, but it was doable and important. I didn't want her to have kittens. One of the vet's assistant's that helped me was nice enough but very neurotic. A second assistant came in with a quote and they wanted over $600, which included a lot of extra optional services. I felt a lot of pressure, guilt, and additional worry because I did not accept most of the extra services. One example is a blood work test they wanted me to let them do to see if she would be good under anesthesia, and they weren't shy about reminding me multiple times that she could die. After expressing that their services were really expensive, they suggested I get CareCredit, which I was against at first but my husband and I tried it anyway. Don't apply for CareCredit. Read the reviews, we had a very similar, horrible experience with it immediately afterwards. It cost over $300 to get the cat all fixed up with a $50 exam fee, spay, vaccines, and guilted us into a $25 single flea treatment. More guilt on the way out by the same neurotic assistant that helped us the night before because I had a cat leash and a box for her rather than a carrier. It was embarrassing to have her sit there and grill me about it in front of other customers. I literally felt like they thought I didn't love my cat. Cat ended up being just fine and dandy in the end. but I was pissed. After doing some price comparisons elsewhere, we were charged more than twice what other good, neighboring vets or the SPCA would have. We will not be back.

My review is solely based on phone etiquette and responsiveness. I contacted CH Pet Hospital after 4 other local pet hospitals inquiring about OSS. Sandra was the first person to answer my call in a polite and professional manner. She wasn't able to answer my question but rather than dismissing me she took my name and number to confirm with the Doctor. She quickly called me back and although they do not perform the procedure they referred me to another location. After a multitude of previous and continued calls after I spoke to Sandra who were either, rude, short, had no idea what I was talking about or clearly prejudiced against the procedure, she was a complete pleasure to talk to. I will keep this in mind for future services needed.

You get the small town closeness from Dr. Averi Brickson, a real feeling that she DOES care. They do not gouge you for money either. It's normal procedures and pricing. Took our pomeranian Kara El there this week and last month and they called for a follow up just wanting to know how she was doing. Could you ask for more? Highly recommend and thinking I need to take these people cookies. Best staff there, best Vet!

My cat Mr. Belvedere is suffering from urinary symptoms, and they have gone above and beyond to ensure that he gets the help he needs without breaking the bank. I really have to give major credit to the veterinary student currently interning at the clinic, named Sean. These guys were my knights in shining armor! My sweet pug was stung by a wasp (who I am currently seeking vigilante justice on with some RAID) and she quickly went into anaphylactic shock. While rushing her to the emergency vet I hit that fabulous Auburn construction traffic. Knowing time was not on my side at the moment, I asked for help from the Man upstairs and it was like the ocean parted ways and there in the center was Citrus Heights Pet Hospital, a place I have driven by numerous times and never gave a second thought. I rush in, dog in one arm and kiddo in the other, exclaiming "my pug is in anaphylactic shock!" I'm sure this was a sight to see. They immediately grabbed my fur baby and saved her! I am sure this could have been a tragedy if they hadn't been there. Not only did they save my girl, but they let me stay with her once she was stable and were so warm and welcoming! I usually go to Loomis Basin, also wonderful, but these guys are a lot closer and I truly appreciate what they did for my family. Those of you with fur kids know, they are family and unconditionally loved. Oh and the surprising part of all this...$200! It would have been way more elsewhere. Our pug actually wasn't done having this reaction once we got her home and still had to go the pet ED, but she probably wouldn't have made it if it weren't for this wonderful hospital. I would highly recommend them! Very pleased with our care there and we'll be back:)

He doesn't feel comfortable being at a vet. The vet does NOT have a good customer service skill. If have to take my dogs to a vet on the weekend, I'd definitely take them to different vet. It'd be great if Dr. Henricks or Dr. Brickson works on the weekend. Dr. Brickson is nice as well. Only the weekend vet isn't good!! I'd give 4.5 stars if the weekend vet is polite, but she is rude. So, that makes it 2.5.

I used to love this place when I would be able to see Dr. Hendricks. Now I am only able to go on the weekends and the woman that works there on the weekends is horrible. Not only do I feel like I'm talking to a salesman, but she's also extremely rude. She even snapped at my dog just because he was uncomfortable with her inspecting his mouth (he didn't snap at her or growl or anything, was just uncomfortable and squirmy). When I tried to calm him, she was extremely sarcastic with me and told me he needs to be trained better, (even though I've never had issues with vets before with him). I've had pets all my life and this is the first vet I've ever encountered who yelled at my pet! I saw her several times before ultimately deciding I had to change vets (had hoped the first couple of times she was just having a bad day, but I was wrong!). If you can go during the week and see Dr. Henrdicks, I'd recommend it, but if you're like me and can usually only do weekends for shots and check ups, my advice is, go elsewhere! I did and am much happier with my new vet than this rude woman. Note: If I was only rating Dr. Hendricks I would have given this place 5 stars. If I was only rating her, I'd give it a 1.
