Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital is a great place to care for our dogs. We had to say goodbye to one of our beautiful dogs back in December. She hadn't eaten for some time as she was so sick. The vet tech knew that bothered me that our Winnie wouldn't get to enjoy a last meal. The tech left the room for a few minutes and came back with a steak from her own lunch. She offered it to our sweet Winnie. It meant the world to me. This type of compassion is priceless and I will never forget it. I had a great experience with Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital of which I acquired the use of their boarding care sevices. I had a last minute job assignment out of state for which I needed urgent placement for my dog's care for a week. Sylvan's employees were VERY welcoming from the moment my dog & I walked into the door. They were exceptionally professional, kind, and accommodating to all of my needs for my dog. They were honest & adamant with keeping me informed of everything about my dog, as far as her 1st night stay & how she was adapting there. I truly appreciated them doing so b/c it really put me at ease knowing that my dog was adjusting well & also it showed she was in good care. In addition, it was my 1st time ever using their services, so it was like taking a chance with hopes that all goes well as my dog adjust to the employees, the new environment, & the quality of their care. All of which I must say I was very pleased & satisfied with. When I returned to pick her up, they had her nice & clean, all of her things were together, and they gave me a final report of her entire stay there. Rip off!!! Those guys try to make money of everything. My husband took our dog the to do vaccines and was only $19 first time. It was cheaper than anywhere else. That's how they do, Oder cheaper vaccinations and clients usually stuck with them. Next time, I bring for vacation dog and ask them to prescribe medication against fleas I ended up paid $150!!! And it's not included medication. Then we decided to fix our dog, on the phone they told me it's going to be $130 ( my dog is 10 lb), then wen I called them to make an appointment the told that my dog needs an exam 24 hours prior the procedure. I told them the saw my dog just couple weeks ago. They told me it is by the law. An exam is $45. And after surgery he will need at least one exam which is another $45. Plus medication. Then I called around, and found out the many pets hospitals include the exam in price of the surgery. I went to mercy pet hospital and ended up paying just $99 for the surgery and exam and $22 dollars for medication. That's all!!! They did great job, my dog is feeling good, they called me 3 times within 10 days to find out how is my dog. On 10th day I went to free exam and asked them to refill the medication against fleas. They gave me prescription for 2 years and I didn't pay anything for that. In sylvan corner they wanted me to do exam every 6 months and pay $45 dollars plus the wanted my dog to do the blood work which is $35, just to get prescription against fleas!!!! That's ridiculous.. very happy that I called around and found out how the other clinics work. Read Less

Love this pet hospital, both my dogs are very happy here they've had several issues and were not happy at other places. The staff is very nice and always seem happy to see you. They are very gentle with my dogs also. My smallest always threw up after leaving other pet places but he hasn't yet after his 3rd visit to Sylvan Corners Read Less

I had to take my dog in to be put to sleep. Very sad for our family. When I called and asked how much this would be, I was told it was $70.00 so thats what I was expecting to pay. Secondly they made me feel like putting my sick dog down was wrong... ugh... not a good feeling when you already feel terrible.. I asked if I could be in the room with him during, and they said, that will be $30.00 extra... seriously your going to charge more while I pet my dog as he goes?? So I stepped out. When I met the lady at the counter she says, that will be $175.00... What a joke. I refused to pay that much as the woman on the phone told me it was $100.00 less... Our family dog wasn't well so we got an appt. Staff was friendly and helpful and understood our anxiety. The Dr we saw was very knowledgeable and gave us all the info we needed to decide what our plan of action might be. The vet tech came in and made sure we understood all of our options with NO SALES PITCH WHATSOEVER. Overall, they seemed to care about the health of the dog more than some sales pitch. Words can't describe my deep appreciation for this staff. We have been taking our Puppy Pickles here for 3 years. From routine check ups to the occasional weekend boarding all the way until the end when they taught me how to express her bladder and give her medication to keep her comfortable. The staff treated us like friends, never like patients.We will be forever grateful for the amazing services they gave us. I have been taking my dogs to Sylvan Corners for the past three years. The vets and staff are friendly and provide great service. I appreciate that they don't push expensive tests and prescriptions, but try to come up with a reasonable treatment plan before going for more expensive tests. If I could I would give this place a -5 star rating. And if you're looking for a veterinarian that has zero compassion for animals and their owners then you will love this place. Rob the manager is worthless some of the other staff are good but for that price I expect much better service!!! This is the most horrible pet hospital,  DO NOT GO HERE!!! I moved to Northern California, from Southern CA,  a little over a year.  In Southern CA, I had a vet office that I simply adored.  I was heart broken at the thought of needing to find a replacement vet after the move.  I tried a couple of local vet offices, but found there to be either a lack of passion for animals, or a desire to push medications or procedures on you. You can imagine how excited I was when I found Suyvan Corners Pet Hospital.  From the moment I walked in the door, the staff greeted me (and my dog).  Everyone was very busy, but they all took time to say hi and make us feel welcomed.  When I met the vet tech I was even more excited.  They were so good with my dog, whom is a rescue and does require a more gentle approach.  When the doctor came in, he too was amazing with my dog. You can tell he has a true passion for what he does, and this is exotically what I look for in a veterinarian. The doctor was able to treat my dog for the condition I brought him in for.  He also did a thorough exam, and did not try to push or promote anything that wasn't necessary for my dog. This place earned my trust, as well as my future business.  Since the first visit, I have brought my dog in one more time.  I received the same level of care as the first time, confirming that this is my new regular vet office. FuManChu With a heavy, sorrowful heart here is an update for everyone. Today at 4:15pm my best friend with four legs and our extra hairy son, comfortably laid with his head in my lap...Let out his last primal wolf howl, looked up into my eyes, while surrounded by family and drew his final breath on this earth. He fought to the last minute. Before I could tell him it was time for our final car ride, he struggled to his feet, took a few steps before collapsing. With tears flooding down my face I carried him to the vehicle and laid with him on what was the toughest trip of our lives. The staff at Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital was simply incredible. As we sat and lay on the floor with our best friend in his final moments, they treated him as if he was also part of their family. They each were in tears as we said goodbye for the last time. FuManChu impacted so many people out in this crazy world. Absolutely Re-setting the bar for American Pit Bull Terriers. With a Canine good citizen award. Protector of our family and friend to any human he met. We are blessed with so many stories from so many people on how he changed their hearts about his breed after falling in love with him. Once in a lifetime you get to experience a gift such as FuManChu. This is a huge hit to our family and everyone that enjoyed a FuMan experience. Had a appointment with my 10 week ild american bully. Yesterday may 7 2016. My pups ears are cropped. I over heard one lady in the back telling my nurse that im torturing my dog by doing this and that its mean. Only reason why i gave them a star was because my nurse defended my pup. Saying its a show dog and its how the dog is intended to look for shows which is correct.. then after a hour of waiting in the room with my 4 yeard old son and 10 week old pup the same lady who said i was torturing my pup said they decided to work with the dog next door instead because its ears weren't cropped. In my opinion she was extremely rude, and i wont be going back to this particular vet. Read Less

This was our third and last visit here .. I used to love this place bragged to everyone how great they are, but not anymore so far I've told at least 100 people and social media this place is the worst. Cold hearted money hungry insensitive Doctors and some techs. This is why people don't take animals to vets and try home remedies and treatments. The doctor that saw us has no warmth through the whole visit it was basically $$$$$$ no option or alternatives. My fur babies mean the world to me and I will spend what ever they need to stay healthy, but this place is a joke they don't explain anything and when I saw the bill was escalating well over $500 I asked is there any way I can get a discount I was told well I gave u $10 off the $45 office visit on the second pet other than that no.so basically an ear infection where they squirted some gel on a Q tip and stuck it in their ears cost $500 .. If u have money to burn and don't care how ur treated this is the place to come!Read Less

Money hungry and uncaringI've used this place in the past and had nothing but great things to say .This last visit was nothing like before the older bald black Doctor is rude and condescending, and the tech was even worse the only thing I heard was $$$$$$ nothing about how to treat or prevent ear infections or what side effects to look for nothing. And the wonderful exam I paid $45 for consisted of us walking in the office and that's it. Long story short this place is a rip off $495.70 for ear infections and 3 months of flea pills. I'm disappointed and I think I deserve at minimum my office fees back but with the attitudes they have I'm lucky they didn't charge me for breathing. Read Less

Brought my dog in because he had an ear hematoma in march. It was a lady vet that helped me. I was told that the only thing I could do was for him to have surgery to put a drain in. Being that my dogs are my babies I spend 600 on this surgery. We have to go back 1time a week for 3 weeks to them to check on it. On the third week they took out the drain and sent us on our way. 4 days later my dogs ear was right back where we started. So I took him back in and saw Dr sissle and found out that ear hematomas can go away on there own. So I spent 600 bucks and my poor 10 year old great dane mix doggie spent three weeks in the biggest cone you could imagine, he was miserable. ALL FOR NOTHING!! And when I asked why I wasn't told this when I first brought him in. They told me because if he didn't have the surgery I would of healed with too much scar tissue. Shouldn't that have been my choice?? Shouldn't I have been informed so I could have made an educated decision. On what was best for my senior dog?? The only reason for the 3 stars was because Dr sissle was amazing. Unless you see him don't bother with this place. They obviously don't care about my dogs well being. We have been bringing our pets here for over 25 years and have always had wonderful service! I have only met one of the new doctors (Dr. Sessile-Hope I spelled his name close to correctly!) and I love the way he is with my dogs! He won me over the first time I met him at a visit with a newly fostered dog that was traumatized and had abscessed bite wounds. He was GREAT with him! Their staff is wonderful, the doctors are great and the dogs don't even mind coming here! Over the years, they have taken care of 6 cats and 9 dogs! We're down to only 2 dogs now and they are both youngsters so I look forward to many more years with Sylvan Corners! Read Less
