This place is great, and Dr. Weigand is an AMAZING veterinarian.  He's incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and caring.  We have had a few health problems with our dog, and Dr. Weigand has seen us through them all, including calling after business hours (on several occasions!) to discuss our questions.  He is so smart and experienced, yet so understanding of pet owners' concerns.  He is always happy to take the time to help you understand the issues, debate the courses of action, etc.  The hospital itself is very nice and clean, the staff are friendly, and we've never been kept waiting.  It's also never taken too long to get an appointment. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Weigand.  Seems like every dog owner I know in Claremont also goes to Dr. Weigand, and they all agree he is simply the best. We have had nothing but excellent experiences with this hospital. Dr. Weigand has always been fair and honest with us when we brought in our pug who was born with hip problems. She now walks perfectly with no pain because of his care. The nursing staff always makes us all feel comfortable and at ease. Because of food allergy issues with our son, the staff allows us to bring in our own treats. In addition, they will call the pharmacy to be certain that no allergens are included in any medication they offer our pug. We will always recommend this hospital! Read Less

I recently adopted my little girl Evie (poodle mix) from the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Shelter, and they included a voucher for a free vet visit here. I couldn't have been happier with the whole experience. The place is pristine and has a beautiful lobby (both times I went there were no other animals waiting, so clearly their appointments are spaced properly!). Evie just loved both vets - the first visit Dr.Weigand gave her a physical, and was very gentle and kind with her. When I brought her back for shots she had Dr. H and he was great with her too (she barely minded her shot). Both vets listened to my concerns without trying to push any extra procedures/medications, and the second office visit fee was very reasonable ($35). The reception staff and vet techs were all very friendly and helpful as well. I live in Glendora but it's worth the drive and I will definitely keep bringing all my pets to the Claremont Veterinary Hospital! Read Less

Very disappointed in this clinic. I have 3 small Yorkies that we care for very well. We had been going to the VCA Clinic for years but felt they were a little expensive. We looked for a new Vet and came across this facility. We have been there times now. Both times our appointments were not honored and sat in the clinic for 2 1/2 hours for general shots and checkups each time. This last time my 3 dogs all received shots and checkups. They all 3 are reacting to the treatment. I called in and spoke to the lady at the front. Very cold, not caring. she said you can bring them down and we can give them another shot. There will be another charge on top of the $475 we just spent yesterday! Or if I want, the doctor may be able to call you after we close tonight. Where's the service, the caring or the compassion? There isn't any... just pay me please. We will be going back to the VCA where they care.Read Less

I can't say enough good things about these guys. We've been coming here for about three years and it's kind of funny, from time to time someone will tell us how much they like their vet and my wife and I share a knowing look because we are so not in the vet-finding market! Everyone we've worked with over there have been nice and professional, but our primary vet, Dr. Weigand stands out. He really has taken all the extra time with us so that we thoroughly understand what the realities of the situation are and help us make the best decisions for our pets. He's got a seemingly unending pool of patience and I truly appreciate it. Our dog, Maverick, recently sustained a serious injury that required surgery. I'm happy to report he's doing well and thanks to all the great folks there he's starting to be his old squirrel-chasing self again! One thing that I really liked that all the charges for surgery, follow-up visits, x-rays, etc were all included and there was no nickle-and-diming. Financially we knew exactly what we were getting in to and, while we already trusted them before he mess up his let, them keeping good on that promise only strengthened that trust. Read Less

I took my dog to Dr. Weigand for surgery to correct his medial luxating patella (knee caps popping out). He convinced me that he was very experienced and performed these surgeries a lot. After recovery, my dog's knee cap is still not fixed (now he has to have this knee re-done as well as the other one done). He tried to tell me that this was common, though when I had an appointment for a check-up he didn't even remember what kind of surgery he had performed (he thought it was an ACL)!! When our cat was diagnosed with a heart problem the pills we first tried (perscribed by a different vet) just didn't work--our cat refused to swallow them and frothed at the mouth they tasted so bad. Dr. Weigand did some research for us and came up with an alternative remedy--applying a cream to his ear--no pills.
