Loved the place. They where nice and definitely treated my dogs carefully. Helped with trimming and giving them their shots. One of my dogs was particularly squirmy so had to sedate him to help him but in the end my dog is happy and pain free. Pricing seems average compared to other places.

I have been bringing my cat with renal failure to Colma Animal Hospital several times over the past six months. It's easy to get appointments and the staff are very kind and caring. There is also very little waiting time before appointments. Dr Cruz takes the time needed for each appointment and always answers any questions I may have. He also makes an effort to explain every option of treatment available for me to make informed decisions about medicines or tests. He is a truly compassionate vet and always asks for news about my cat. It's overall been a great experience for me so far and I would definitely recommend this place.

By far, Dr. Cruz is the only person that was patient in answering my questions and able to help me with my aggressive cat. I've had my cat for several years and just recently, he started to lash out at me. His behavioral problems seemed to get worst. I was immediately shocked that they took me in right away last minute. Dr. Cruz listened to me and understood that I wanted to find a solution that didnt involve wasting money on countless tests. We started going down a list of possible solutions to help solve my cat's behavioral issues. I couldnt be more happier with the way Dr. Cruz helped me. This was my first time going to Colma Animal Hospital and I've decided to take ALL my animals here. No regrets!The office may look a little outdated but dont let that fool you. it's really about the the doctors and staff that work there.

I started bringing my pug Elvis to Dr. Cruz at Colma Animal Hospital a few weeks ago when I got him. I have had to bring him in more than once for different issues, and every time Dr. Cruz and their staff have been friendly, informative, and amazing with my little guy who can tend to get pretty nervous around anyone new. Dr. Cruz informed me of all charges that would be associated before he performed anything, and has been VERY reasonable with payments I've made. I called the hospital last week with a question about his eye, and Dr. Cruz called me back that same day, gave me his personal cell phone number to send him pictures, and immediately let me know what he thought. He has since texted me again just to check on Elvis. I am SO happy I found Dr. Cruz, and we won't be going to anyone else for as long as he is around.

This review is long overdue, but it must be documented how great Dr. Cruz and his staff are! I called on labor day weekend of 2016 after my 5 month old puppy broke his leg and I was being quoted $6000 to perform surgery on him. Dr. Cruz was able to speak with me about my options and gave me his recommendations. I opted to not go for the surgery, and insteead left Oreo at the clinic for about a week with a cast so that they would be able to control and minimize his movement as much as possible. I was then able to take him home with his cast on. Oreo is doing great now, and I am forever grateful to this clinic for their attention to my puppy!

This review is more regarding the experience with front desk and miscommunication i experienced.I went to this vet a couple times I experienced decent service. In August I contacted Dr.Bhakhri via email regarding my maltipoo's discharge from his urinary area. The email had a picture attached that showed what was going on. He recommended I pick up antibiotics from the hospital. I called the front desk to ask when I could go in to pick up the medication and the front desk kept insisting that I had to schedule an appointment first because that's what Dr.Bhakri told them. Wait, What? That was not what was communicated in the email. I tried to ask the front desk to see if they could get the doctor on the phone so the misunderstanding could be cleared but they refused to do so insisting he is in a consultation. Didn't even offer to say that he would call back once he is free.I emailed the doctor again and he insisted I could pick up the medication first and if i wanted an immediate appointment I should go to an emergency location. It wasn't very clear and the front desk were a pain to deal with. It seems like the doctors are fine but they need to get better front desk personnel or atleast explain to them what good customer service means.I had to immediately get my dog checked to rule out anything serious so I made an appointment with vet pronto who came home and took care of it. Ofcourse the in home service was more expensive but it helped with an urgent situation.

We are first-time dog owners and we've had our puppy for almost 2 months. Immediately upon getting her, we made an appointment with Dr. Cruz for a well-check. He spent about 30 minutes with us giving her a full examination and answering our numerous questions. About a month later, our puppy woke up vomiting and had diarrhea. We were able to get her in to see Dr. Cruz within a couple hours. He took good care of her, especially since she had to stay overnight. A couple weeks after that, we got her spayed at the facility. Through our numerous visits in the past 2 months, Dr. Cruz has been incredible. He is very knowledgeable, compassionate, caring and he reaches out to check on our puppy. The staff at Colma Animal Hospital is great as well. They all love our puppy so much that we are going to board her there for our upcoming vacation.

You should try the aspca. Umm.. Who said I wanted something cheaper? I guess my husband, who happens to work in surgery isn't able to cough up $600. He make more than that in one day. Also, my aunt wanted to get her dog spayed. She has a San Mateo County Animal spay/neuter voucher. This office is listed as one of the participating offices. They were only going to take $55 off the bill when the program says its $55 for the spay. She lives in San Mateo county and can only use the voucher there. Shame on you Jasmine. It's not nice to judge someone you don't even know.

We have a 5 month old Rottweiler. Our daughter referred us to Colma Pet Hospital. We had the pleasure of seeing Dr Cruz who is great! He is so very patient with me. I always have a lot of questions which he takes his time to answer. He never makes me feel rushed. We haven' t had a dog in 14 yrs so it feels like the first time for us. We have learned a lot from Dr Cruz. The staff is so nice and always able to get us in. I would definitely recommend this place.

I have been coming here for years. My wife brought her lab here during his life and my mother in law also brought her two Katrina hurricane survivor dogs here during their life, so of course, I bring my 2 Boston Terriers here. Not because they are close, but because the vet was family recommended and because everyone on staff act like they love their work. I can genuinely tell that they love animals and they hate seeing animals in pain or distress. I don't understand why my vet didn't come up when I initially searched for them on YELP? We most recently had Apollo go through surgery with Dr. Bhakari. We dropped him off in the morning and they asked that he stay for the day for observation. So we picked Apollo (our Boston terrier) towards the end of the day. He could barely walk due to pain and medication, but he was miserable in the evening and the next day. He was sent home with meds, and I still wonder why they don't make dog meds peanut butter or meat flavor, instead of me having to Macguyver a way for my little furry child to take his medicine. I use peanut butter or ham, usually works 90% of the time. When we go on short vacations, we trust this staff to look after our puppies through their boarding service. When boarded they also get played with and are attended to. Check ups are a breeze, even when the shots are due. I swear, vets are like pedatricians with how they treat and approach our furry family. I can't recommend this place enough. My oldest has been coming here since he was a puppy, so maybe 8 years and our second little cuddle bug was a rescue and been treated here regularly for 7 years. If you love your pets and consider them family, then take them to this place where I feel they are treated like family. If you have allergies, cat or dog, the waiting area has always been kept clean every time I go in, so you should be okay.

We've had several experiences with Colma Animal Hospital since June 2011.On December 30th 2016, our dog Leo (male/Dachshund mix/10 yrs) suddenly had vomiting, diarrhea all day, and head tilting/falling and rolling/jerking eye movements. We came in for an urgent situation next day because the office was open. We were so lucky. This was the first time for appointment with Dr.Cruz. The result of his diagnosis including X-rays/Blood test was "vestibular neuritis ". He gave Leo three shots and four kinds of medicines for treatment at home for one week. During the week, Dr.Cruz has been asking for an update on Leo. He is very compassionate with his patients and took the time to discuss treatment plan. After one week, Leo was almost back to normal, very active and eating well. It's a miracle!! To improve Leo's head tilting, he was administering injection 12 times till the end of February. It works gradually better for Leo, we keep bring him for monthly injection this year. Dr.Cruz and Colma Animal Hospital staff are incredibly understanding and caring about the pet and the pet owner as well. We highly recommend him and this office to anyone who wants a sincere, experienced, compassionate, kind, professional vet. Thank you!!

Can I tell you Dr. Cruz is the best! We made an appt with him for the first time because my dog was pretty sick. He gave us different options and prices on how we wanted to treat Bella. We stuck with one plan and he even called me over the weekend asking for an update on Bella. Now that is customer service!! I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a sincere, experienced, compassionate, kind, smart, articulate vet. I hope Dr. Cruz doesn't go anywhere else, if he does, I will follow!! We came in for an urgent situation. My whippet lost so much weight in less than a week. Turned out she had a life threatening infection, and Dr. Cruz was awesome. Very friendly and understanding. I was very happy with their service. My poor doggie had to have an emergency operation, and considering how out of the blue this all happened we weren't financially prepared. The vet and staff gave me the option of a payment plan or to use a vet credit card which I chose. The whole bill was covered and I'm able to make low interest payments. My beautiful dog is worth it. She is back to 100% and put back on those pounds that she lost in about a week. I went back for a checkup and thanks to Dr Cruz and staff my baby is back to her old self!!

I cannot speak more highly of a professional, caring and communicative veterinarian than Dr. Cruz and Colma Animal Hospital. I was referred to his practice by a classmate and I am forever grateful and thankful that that connection was made.When I am ready to have another cat or other animal, I will most certainly be going back to establish care with Colma Animal Hospital and Dr. Cruz. My mother-in-law's beloved pug (Julian) had been sick for several days with a sinus issue that didn't get better, we looked around for a veterinarian nearby and came across Colma Animal Hospital and were pleasantly surprised that they were able to set an appointment the same day.They were attended by Dr. Cruz who surprised them by being bi-lingual in Spanish and very personable. Dr. Cruz took them to the room and immediately saw the severity of Julian's issue and rushed him back to take x-rays and run some tests. He kept them informed and discovered that he had an infection in his larynx that was preventing him from breathing and gave them some options on how to fix it. Dr. Cruz set my family at ease to proceed with fixing the problem, he made sure they understood what was going on and next steps for follow up.Thank you Dr. Cruz and Colma Animal Hospital for all your care!

Dr. Cruz is the Cesar Milan of vets. Made my little pit mix feel at ease so much he didn't feel any of his vaccinations he was receiving by Dr. Cruz! Ask for him!!!!!!I also like going here for my dog...

DR. Bakhri works with his patients and their owners. He doesn't try up selling them on a ton of extra vet costs by performing anything he feels is unnecessary.I've called Colma Animal Hospital to let them know what I'm seeing in my dog (this time it was rice looking worms in dog stool) and DR. Bakhri wrote a script/provided thr appropriate intestinal worm medication without having to examine the dog (I wad just at the Vet two weeks prior, but little Lucy ate something she shouldn't have had a week after seeing the Vet).He's gentle and really compassionate for animals. The staff are great and they are open 6 days a week during normal business hours. Great place and inexpensive. I would recommend to anyone living in SF and the penninsula.

We were visiting from out of state and needed emergency weekend care for our 13 yr old dog. Dr. Bahkiri was knowledgeable, caring, patient and professional. His staff is super helpful and really made us feel comfortable and at ease. Our dog received excellent, affordable care. Very highly recommended!

I have been bringing my cat with renal failure to Colma Animal Hospital several times over the past six months. It's easy to get appointments and the staff are very kind and caring. There is also very little waiting time before appointments. Dr Cruz takes the time needed for each appointment and always answers any questions I may have. He also makes an effort to explain every option of treatment available for me to make informed decisions about medicines or tests. He is a truly compassionate vet and always asks for news about my cat. It's overall been a great experience for me so far and I would definitely recommend this place.

By far, Dr. Cruz is the only person that was patient in answering my questions and able to help me with my aggressive cat. I've had my cat for several years and just recently, he started to lash out at me. His behavioral problems seemed to get worst. I was immediately shocked that they took me in right away last minute. Dr. Cruz listened to me and understood that I wanted to find a solution that didnt involve wasting money on countless tests. We started going down a list of possible solutions to help solve my cat's behavioral issues. I couldnt be more happier with the way Dr. Cruz helped me. This was my first time going to Colma Animal Hospital and I've decided to take ALL my animals here. No regrets!The office may look a little outdated but dont let that fool you. it's really about the the doctors and staff that work there.

I started bringing my pug Elvis to Dr. Cruz at Colma Animal Hospital a few weeks ago when I got him. I have had to bring him in more than once for different issues, and every time Dr. Cruz and their staff have been friendly, informative, and amazing with my little guy who can tend to get pretty nervous around anyone new. Dr. Cruz informed me of all charges that would be associated before he performed anything, and has been VERY reasonable with payments I've made. I called the hospital last week with a question about his eye, and Dr. Cruz called me back that same day, gave me his personal cell phone number to send him pictures, and immediately let me know what he thought. He has since texted me again just to check on Elvis. I am SO happy I found Dr. Cruz, and we won't be going to anyone else for as long as he is around.

This review is long overdue, but it must be documented how great Dr. Cruz and his staff are! I called on labor day weekend of 2016 after my 5 month old puppy broke his leg and I was being quoted $6000 to perform surgery on him. Dr. Cruz was able to speak with me about my options and gave me his recommendations. I opted to not go for the surgery, and insteead left Oreo at the clinic for about a week with a cast so that they would be able to control and minimize his movement as much as possible. I was then able to take him home with his cast on. Oreo is doing great now, and I am forever grateful to this clinic for their attention to my puppy!

This review is more regarding the experience with front desk and miscommunication i experienced.I went to this vet a couple times I experienced decent service. In August I contacted Dr.Bhakhri via email regarding my maltipoo's discharge from his urinary area. The email had a picture attached that showed what was going on. He recommended I pick up antibiotics from the hospital. I called the front desk to ask when I could go in to pick up the medication and the front desk kept insisting that I had to schedule an appointment first because that's what Dr.Bhakri told them. Wait, What? That was not what was communicated in the email. I tried to ask the front desk to see if they could get the doctor on the phone so the misunderstanding could be cleared but they refused to do so insisting he is in a consultation. Didn't even offer to say that he would call back once he is free.I emailed the doctor again and he insisted I could pick up the medication first and if i wanted an immediate appointment I should go to an emergency location. It wasn't very clear and the front desk were a pain to deal with. It seems like the doctors are fine but they need to get better front desk personnel or atleast explain to them what good customer service means.I had to immediately get my dog checked to rule out anything serious so I made an appointment with vet pronto who came home and took care of it. Ofcourse the in home service was more expensive but it helped with an urgent situation.

We are first-time dog owners and we've had our puppy for almost 2 months. Immediately upon getting her, we made an appointment with Dr. Cruz for a well-check. He spent about 30 minutes with us giving her a full examination and answering our numerous questions. About a month later, our puppy woke up vomiting and had diarrhea. We were able to get her in to see Dr. Cruz within a couple hours. He took good care of her, especially since she had to stay overnight. A couple weeks after that, we got her spayed at the facility. Through our numerous visits in the past 2 months, Dr. Cruz has been incredible. He is very knowledgeable, compassionate, caring and he reaches out to check on our puppy. The staff at Colma Animal Hospital is great as well. They all love our puppy so much that we are going to board her there for our upcoming vacation.

I wanted to call and make an appointment for my dog to get spayed. Jasmine, the front desk receptionist said, "to be honest, it's really expensive here. It's going to be about $600. You should try the aspca. Umm.. Who said I wanted something cheaper? I guess my husband, who happens to work in surgery isn't able to cough up $600. He make more than that in one day. Also, my aunt wanted to get her dog spayed. She has a San Mateo County Animal spay/neuter voucher. This office is listed as one of the participating offices. They were only going to take $55 off the bill when the program says its $55 for the spay. She lives in San Mateo county and can only use the voucher there. Shame on you Jasmine. It's not nice to judge someone you don't even know.

We have a 5 month old Rottweiler. Our daughter referred us to Colma Pet Hospital. We had the pleasure of seeing Dr Cruz who is great! He is so very patient with me. I always have a lot of questions which he takes his time to answer. He never makes me feel rushed. We haven' t had a dog in 14 yrs so it feels like the first time for us. We have learned a lot from Dr Cruz. The staff is so nice and always able to get us in. I would definitely recommend this place.

I have been coming here for years. My wife brought her lab here during his life and my mother in law also brought her two Katrina hurricane survivor dogs here during their life, so of course, I bring my 2 Boston Terriers here. Not because they are close, but because the vet was family recommended and because everyone on staff act like they love their work. I can genuinely tell that they love animals and they hate seeing animals in pain or distress. I don't understand why my vet didn't come up when I initially searched for them on YELP? We most recently had Apollo go through surgery with Dr. Bhakari. We dropped him off in the morning and they asked that he stay for the day for observation. So we picked Apollo (our Boston terrier) towards the end of the day. He could barely walk due to pain and medication, but he was miserable in the evening and the next day. He was sent home with meds, and I still wonder why they don't make dog meds peanut butter or meat flavor, instead of me having to Macguyver a way for my little furry child to take his medicine. I use peanut butter or ham, usually works 90% of the time. When we go on short vacations, we trust this staff to look after our puppies through their boarding service. When boarded they also get played with and are attended to. Check ups are a breeze, even when the shots are due. I swear, vets are like pedatricians with how they treat and approach our furry family. I can't recommend this place enough. My oldest has been coming here since he was a puppy, so maybe 8 years and our second little cuddle bug was a rescue and been treated here regularly for 7 years. If you love your pets and consider them family, then take them to this place where I feel they are treated like family. If you have allergies, cat or dog, the waiting area has always been kept clean every time I go in, so you should be okay.

We've had several experiences with Colma Animal Hospital since June 2011.On December 30th 2016, our dog Leo (male/Dachshund mix/10 yrs) suddenly had vomiting, diarrhea all day, and head tilting/falling and rolling/jerking eye movements. We came in for an urgent situation next day because the office was open. We were so lucky. This was the first time for appointment with Dr.Cruz. The result of his diagnosis including X-rays/Blood test was "vestibular neuritis ". He gave Leo three shots and four kinds of medicines for treatment at home for one week. During the week, Dr.Cruz has been asking for an update on Leo. He is very compassionate with his patients and took the time to discuss treatment plan. After one week, Leo was almost back to normal, very active and eating well. It's a miracle!! To improve Leo's head tilting, he was administering injection 12 times till the end of February. It works gradually better for Leo, we keep bring him for monthly injection this year. Dr.Cruz and Colma Animal Hospital staff are incredibly understanding and caring about the pet and the pet owner as well. We highly recommend him and this office to anyone who wants a sincere, experienced, compassionate, kind, professional vet. Thank you!!

Can I tell you Dr. Cruz is the best! We made an appt with him for the first time because my dog was pretty sick. He gave us different options and prices on how we wanted to treat Bella. We stuck with one plan and he even called me over the weekend asking for an update on Bella. Now that is customer service!! I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a sincere, experienced, compassionate, kind, smart, articulate vet. I hope Dr. Cruz doesn't go anywhere else, if he does, I will follow!! Thank you again Dr. Cruz!!!

We came in for an urgent situation. My whippet lost so much weight in less than a week. Turned out she had a life threatening infection, and Dr. Cruz was awesome. Very friendly and understanding. I was very happy with their service. My poor doggie had to have an emergency operation, and considering how out of the blue this all happened we weren't financially prepared. The vet and staff gave me the option of a payment plan or to use a vet credit card which I chose. The whole bill was covered and I'm able to make low interest payments. My beautiful dog is worth it. She is back to 100% and put back on those pounds that she lost in about a week. I went back for a checkup and thanks to Dr Cruz and staff my baby is back to her old self!!

Dr. Cruz and his team at Colma Animal Hospital cared for my 16 year old cat as if she was there own at the end of her life. I cannot speak more highly of a professional, caring and communicative veterinarian than Dr. Cruz and Colma Animal Hospital. I was referred to his practice by a classmate and I am forever grateful and thankful that that connection was made.When I am ready to have another cat or other animal, I will most certainly be going back to establish care with Colma Animal Hospital and Dr. Cruz. I live in the Haight in SF and would gladly make the trip to see this professional and caring group of veterinarians- you should too!

My mother-in-law's beloved pug (Julian) had been sick for several days with a sinus issue that didn't get better, we looked around for a veterinarian nearby and came across Colma Animal Hospital and were pleasantly surprised that they were able to set an appointment the same day.They were attended by Dr. Cruz who surprised them by being bi-lingual in Spanish and very personable. Dr. Cruz took them to the room and immediately saw the severity of Julian's issue and rushed him back to take x-rays and run some tests. He kept them informed and discovered that he had an infection in his larynx that was preventing him from breathing and gave them some options on how to fix it. Dr. Cruz set my family at ease to proceed with fixing the problem, he made sure they understood what was going on and next steps for follow up.Thank you Dr. Cruz and Colma Animal Hospital for all your care!

DR. Bakhri works with his patients and their owners. He doesn't try up selling them on a ton of extra vet costs by performing anything he feels is unnecessary.I've called Colma Animal Hospital to let them know what I'm seeing in my dog (this time it was rice looking worms in dog stool) and DR. Bakhri wrote a script/provided thr appropriate intestinal worm medication without having to examine the dog (I wad just at the Vet two weeks prior, but little Lucy ate something she shouldn't have had a week after seeing the Vet).He's gentle and really compassionate for animals. The staff are great and they are open 6 days a week during normal business hours. Great place and inexpensive. I would recommend to anyone living in SF and the penninsula.

His staff is super helpful and really made us feel comfortable and at ease. Our dog received excellent, affordable care. Very highly recommended!
