If you don't care about your pet, you can have 'em put down here. No moping in this place - the vet walked in only 25 minutes late for our scheduled meeting, and didn't waste time with boring explanations or apologies - there are things to be done in a day, after all. She must have known that we'd paid in advance, and decided that speed was the order of the day. She got right into Super Customer Service Mode, gave us a cheery a smile and asked in a bright voice "So! What are we doing?" and I have to be impressed with the sheer concentration manifested to blithely ignore not only the schedule, but also that room: two solemn-faced individuals gently cradling an old, blind chihuahua with tears on their faces isn't an easy thing to power through, but she managed it without batting an eye - didn't even phase her - that's experience, there. This human female didn't mince around with the needle, either. I mean, some vets get so dainty when dealing with a small dog that the injection takes a full twenty or thirty seconds - she apparently had no time for that (I mean, she was obviously running at least 25 minutes behind schedule; we knew this was a busy day from 'go'.). I reckon she doesn't see the point in sparing the injection on an animal that's going to die in a few minutes anyway, when there are other things to be done! So she really just jabbed it into the butt muscle and immediately plunged the syringe down - must have taken three seconds tops, during which this slow, tired dog whipped around and flailed in pain. Hadn't seen her move that fast in over a year. She wanders back in fifteen minutes later with someone else, a bit more of a touchy-feely woman who obviously cares about animals. Don't you just hate it when you have to change gears because someone is watching? Only took three tries to find a vein for the lethal injection, and she announced death only a little prematurely - but it's not like this is an exact science or anything. Yes, my tone is caustic and my review is laced with sarcasm. I'm too pissed to write it any other way just now, so I'll end it with this: if you want to see a friend die in needless pain at the hands of an unprofessional disrespectful woman of questionable ability and apparently no compassion who doesn't arrive on time... Well, you've found your place. This woman wasn't just a staff member; she's the owner. In anticipation of denials - I don't know what kind of service you received, and I don't care. This is a factual recounting of what happened during the scheduled, please-let-us-be-engaged-and-respectful-about-this request I made ahead of time execution of a beloved friend... and this woman was anything but. No email, no letter, no voicemail even extending a fake apology. Instead, she took our money, hurt our friend unnecessarily, and was just awful. Roll the dice if you want, I guess. I'll never trust her again. Read Less

I love this vet. I've taken my cats and a dog here for various reasons from vaccines, to euthanasia. The front office staff are so nice, thoughtful and thorough. When we put our dog to sleep due to significant decline in health at 16 yo, they were so compassionate, gentle and allowed us all the time we needed to say good bye. That week we received a hand written card from Dr. Killian expressing thoughtful condolences to our family. And in about 2 weeks we received his ashes in a beautiful engraved box. The extensive knowledge, up front approach coupled with a personal touch from the entire office separates Adobe Animal Hospital from the rest. Thank you for the peace of mind and confidence in care. I took my puppy there to get some teeth extracted that were not falling out on their own.  The extraction went fine, and Dr. Judy was nice.  They told me they were also going to trim my puppy's nails while he was asleep for the procedure which was great.  I told them that was ok to do.  HOWEVER Beth, one of the assistants, ALSO GAVE MY PUPPY A HAIRCUT WHILE HE WAS ASLEEP WITHOUT GETTING MY CONSENT FIRST! No one mentioned this to me before or after, I just noticed when I got home.  The reason why I'm upset is because everyone with a Maltese knows that tear stains are a problem with the white hair.  The fine hairs tend to get in their eyes and make them tear up, causing brown stains on their face hairs.  We've gone through painstaking efforts to lessen this, including washing his face 1-2 times per day, switching his diet 4 times, and also only giving him filtered water.  I read about tear stains extensively on Maltese forums.  We also were letting the hair around his eyes grow out, bc if they are short they only poke him in the eyes when the hairs grow out farther.  His stains had gotten a lot better.  Needless to say, I was pissed when I saw that SOMEONE HAD TAKEN BLUNT SCISSORS AND CUT HIS FACE HAIRS.  There are big chunks gone on each side and it's actually shorter on one side than the other.  When we groom him we only use the feathering/thinning scissors (you know, the ones that look like that have teeth) so that he doesn't have a blunt cut.  Now his face looks choppy.  ALSO, the hairs that are cut short and almost down to his nose are now going to grow out and poke him in the eyes more.  Everyone knows that the short pokey hairs are worse than the long ones!  So now we have to wait for his hair to grow out again!  Meanwhile, the tear stained hairs that were cut off were covering other layers of white hair so they didn't get stained too.  Yesterday his face looked all white after she had cut his stained hairs off, and sure enough today the newly exposed white hairs are now getting stained.  I had left some of the tear stained hair there on purpose to protect the other non-stained hairs!  As a doctor myself, I never put someone to sleep and then do something without their consent that isn't a part of the operation.  It's not like I put someone to sleep and then think to myself, "In addition to this operation I don't like this person's feathered bangs. I'm just going to give them a blunt cut instead bc I think it's better for them."  That person could wake up upset and rightfully so.    Beth was also rude to me when I took one of the free doggie treats for my dog (which I was going to give to him after his procedure).  He gets really excited ab these things and prances around w the treat before he eats it etc.   So I thought it would make him feel better when we got home.  It wasn't necessarily what Beth had said but more of the tone and the way she looked at me with such disdain when she said I couldn't take one.  Obviously, I wasn't going to give it to him right away bc he can't eat before anesthesia.  I know this bc I give people anesthesia every day for my job.  But I was really offended by the way she glared at me while she watched me put the treat back.  I even said, "can't he have one afterwards?" and she said no (which of course isn't true bc they fed him after) so I felt obligated to put it back.  My pup has also had diarrhea when he came home and is whining a lot.  I don't mind as much ab this bc I think maybe it's kind of expected after anesthesia.  They fed him a can of dog food after he woke up.  Just as a suggestion to others, maybe just ask to bring your own dog food for you pup afterwards so you're not dealing w diarrhea around the house after.  That being said, the rest of the staff and Dr. Judy were all nice to me.  But one bad person can certainly ruin your experience. I do not recommend them! We used them for a couple years with no problem, only using them for yearly visits since our dog was never sick. We recently got a new puppy and brought her in to be looked at the day after we bought her. They asked for a stool sample to test, which we provided. They said, "We'll only call if there is a problem with it." I never received a call, so I assumed she was fine. Two weeks later, she was very sick, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargic, and not gaining weight! I called the office to book her third puppy shot and they informed me that her medicine had been sitting there for 2 weeks!! "What medicine!?!?" Was my response. She said that my puppy had a parasite and they tried calling me. I never received a missed call or voice-mail. My husband and I were furious! We went in that day to pickup the meds, which we now had to get for both of our dogs because the parasite she has is very contagious. They never once apologized or offered to pay for the meds for our other dog. We asked for both our dogs records and will not be returning! Unless you're looking for careless veterinary care, do not go to Adobe! Read Less

I had (past tense) been taking my dog to Adobe for 4 years, initially was happy, referred some friends there. THEN my dog came down with cancer, in his blood, liver, and stomach. Within 24 hours my bill was $1800, that was fine, I loved my dog, we were going to try chemo & radiation. I paid $600 the first day just to put some money down on his treatment. The day after he was diagnosed, he was to start the chemo, unfortunately he passed away that morning, he was 7 years old. The cancer was that fast. I WAS DEVASTATED!!! I left work early to take care of everything, and bury him in his favorite spot in the back yard. I had been talking to the staff all day long that day and the day before. When I went to pick him up, I was a sobbing mess. They wouldn't give him to me until I paid the bill in full!! GIVE ME MY DOG! Again, I had been going there for 4 years, had ALWAYS paid my bills. I just wanted to bury my dog. This had happened so fast that I was devastated. He had been through my bad relationships, and both of us growing up, both him and I. I hadn't taken my purse with me when I went to pick up his body, first they asked for a check, when I explained I got a ride there to get him because I was too upset to drive, they asked if I had a credit card on me. I was standing in the waiting room crying, and they were badgering me for money. No customer sympathy, nothing. They then told me I couldn't have my dogs body until it was taken care of. Finally I told them I would sign a statement that I would take my dog, bury him, and then get in my car and drive back to pay them before 8:00pm. NO FEELINGS AT ALL!! That is what I did, took my dog home, buried him, and with dirt still on my hands and closed drove back and gave them a check for the balance in full. I didn't mind paying the balance, I was devastated that within 48 hours of me noticing my dog was sick, he died. I received no condolences, sympathy from the staff. I got "I need the money". I did call and let the actual vet know how I was treated, and she was indifferent, she didn't care. I have since told everyone I know who has pets to stay away from Adobe. I am now a faithful and loyal customer of Disney Pet Hospital, and send people I know there way now. They care about my animals, and they care about me, they actually call you at home to follow up on how your animals feel and are doing. Read Less

Our dog Bailey began vomiting this morning.  When we called our REGULAR veterinarian we were told that they could not get her in until tomorrow.  They also did not suggest that we wait.  They suggested 2 emergency clinics!!  We called Adobe Animal Hospital on the recommendation of a friend.  When they heard Baileys symptoms, they asked how quickly we could be there!!  The care was awesome!!  They did blood work, X-rays, gave her fluids and a anti-nauseous shot.  I'm pleased to say that she seems to be feeling better!! THANK YOU ADOBE ANIMAL HOSPITAL!! Read Less

Read Less
