The actual veterinary service isn't terrible, but the staff who work there are terrible. It's probably a management issue with the business, but they don't seem to be able to give you any information...
The actual veterinary service isn't terrible, but the staff who work there are terrible. It's probably a management issue with the business, but they don't seem to be able to give you any information whatsoever. The wait times are sometimes 45 minutes to an hour after your scheduled appointment, or they'll do something like call you and inform you that your lab results are back but you have to wait for a vet to call you to read them to you. Could you at least tell me if I have giardia? No? It might take the vet SEVERAL DAYS to get back to me? There are better veterinarians in town.

Second time this has happened to me. Set appointment months in advance. Show up 15 minutes early like they asked. Watch a lot of people come in after me. Then watch all those people go in front of me....

BEWARE!! They give you an estimate then more than double what they quoted you. Then if you can't pay the whole amount they threaten to send your account to collections. If you call to talk to them odd...
BEWARE!! They give you an estimate then more than double what they quoted you. Then if you can't pay the whole amount they threaten to send your account to collections. If you call to talk to them oddly the manager is never in. If you show up to talk with them the manager is out. To give you some idea of how often they do this they have a in-house robo caller threatening you to send your account to collections. They even had the gall to charge me twice for the same medicine. I talked to another vet and was told the medicine that was given to my cat actually makes the symptoms worse. The medicine could of actually dehydrated my cat even more and been the cause of her death. I and others I have talked to about this Vet find them to be dishonest and unethical. If you do believe all these 5 star posts and take your LOVED pet to them. ask them for a written estimate with a no more than limit. I would also do a bit of research on what medicines they are giving your pet and why. R.I.P. MARVIN, I and the kids miss your little meow when we come home.

They killed my 9 week old kitten by failing to notify me of a life threatening diagnosis from test results. They claim to have called me once 4 days before she passed. I have no record of them calli...
They killed my 9 week old kitten by failing to notify me of a life threatening diagnosis from test results. They claim to have called me once 4 days before she passed. I have no record of them calling me and even if they had called me the one time they claim to, what responsible vet tries contacting the owner ONCE and not even leave a message??? They couldn't even tell me who tried to contact me. And then they tried to lie to the animal rescue who called on my behalf when I was too distraught and said that they called me but that I just never showed up to get the medication. Never recommending this vet, never coming back to this vet. Yes the staff was friendly when I first brought her there and yes the facility is nice looking but their negligence killed my cat and they won't even own up to it. I'm writing this so that this doesn't happen to anyone else's beloved pet

So many good things to say. I got a dog who was 8 because his human dad died. I never owned a dog before! They have helped me with everything, a dog attacked mine and I just called and was right in! I fostered another dog who was diagnosed with diabetes and they helped me to learn how to foster this pup! And they housed him when I had to leave for 3 days before he went to his new home! and the new owner stays with Alpine even though it’s a 30 minute drive!

Though I have gone to other vets over the years, since finding Alpine a number of years ago, I cannot imagine trusting the care of my dogs to anyone else. Dr. Virk is the best vet around; he has given my dogs the best care. I highly recommend Alpine Beterinary Hospital--the best in the east bay!

Dr. Moreno and her team are so awesome with my tough 70 pound bulldog!! He can be so anxious and hard to do any procedures with but, he lets them do more with him than any other vet and when he does get riled up, they are soooo nice about it!!
I can always get either a next day appointment or at least one in a few days. The new building they are in is also soooo much more updated than the old one and you can even "check out" right in the exam room rather than the hustle and bustle of the regular waiting room. I also love that they are open later than lots of other vets, which makes it really convenient for those working during the day.
Thank you for being so caring and patient with my pup!

Can't complain about the vets but staff is terrible. Seems like they don't communicate with vets. Dr. Virk called to discuss my dog's situation and prescribed meds that could be picked up that day. Called to make sure med was ready but nothing until next day when they called about an existing med. I asked about the new one and they seem clueless. I had to explain. 10 minutes later they said med was ready. Also, went in for an appointment and waited awhile to check in at desk but the 2 staff were too busy training on the terminal. Also, tech did not draw enough blood to complete tests so had to return next day. This place has gone down hill. Will look for new vet.

The veterinary staff, doctors and hospital are excellent! Not only are they professional and knowledgeable, but very, very compassionate. I took my 3 furbabies for a checkup and teeth cleaning. They called me with updates and gave me detailed instructions on after-care...especially for the one who had several teeth pulled. Then, I got a follow-up call the next day to see how they were doing. I'm taking my kitties to Alpine for any and all care they deserve!

I've been going to Dr. Virk at Alpine for almost 30 years when I lived just 5 minutes away. Now we live about 30 minutes away (in traffic) and yet, I would not go anywhere else. Dr. Virk is the most devoted health care professional I have ever met in either the human or animal world. We are loyal Alpine patients for life.

I really like Dr. Virk a lot. He does not do any "testing" just for the sake of testing (which really adds up). The cost of service is reasonable compared to some other vets. The only issue I have can be the wait times to see the doctor. Sometimes I have to wait 30 minutes or so past my appointment time until I see the doctor. The staff is very friendly and supportive.

Years ago my mom and I found an injured cat left on our front porch. She was hit by a car and had a badly injured leg, amongst other various injuries. She needed to have her back leg amputated. With her other injuries, it was hard to tell if she would make it through the surgery. I was maybe 5 or 6 at the time and had grown quite attached to that cat. Unfortunately she wasn't able to make it through the surgery. But I know that he did everything he could. Including performing cpr on this cat for 30 min before calling it quits. That alone is the very reason why I refuse to take my animals anywhere else but alpine. He truly cares about the pet and owner equally. Since then I have brought my cats and my mom and grandparents have taken their dogs to alpine. We have never been displeased with the service received, and I plan to continue to use alpine for a very long time.

I would recommend Alpine Vet Hospital to anyone I know. They're an amazing staff, kind and professional as well as very good at what they do.
I have 4 cats and each one has gotten into something that required surgery or intense blood workup. As stressed as one becomes over the health of one's pet, in addition the cost also weighs heavily also.
However, the 5-star service does not come with an over-priced price tag.
They're are very reasonably priced which is great for multiple-pet owners such as myself and I can get amazing care for my cats without going broke. Compared with everyone I talk to, the service, experience and prices of Alpine are the best! I truly recommend them and may all your pets stay healthy and safe :)

It's probably a management issue with the business, but they don't seem to be able to give you any information whatsoever. They killed my 9 week old kitten by failing to notify me of a life threatening diagnosis from test results. They claim to have called me once 4 days before she passed. Dr. Moreno and her team are so awesome with my tough 70 pound bulldog!! He can be so anxious and hard to do any procedures with but, he lets them do more with him than any other vet and when he does get riled up, they are soooo nice about it!!
I can always get either a next day appointment or at least one in a few days. Can't complain about the vets but staff is terrible. Seems like they don't communicate with vets. Dr. Virk called to discuss my dog's situation and prescribed meds that could be picked up that day. Called to make sure med was ready but nothing until next day when they called about an existing med. I asked about the new one and they seem clueless. I had to explain. 10 minutes later they said med was ready. Also, went in for an appointment and waited awhile to check in at desk but the 2 staff were too busy training on the terminal. Also, tech did not draw enough blood to complete tests so had to return next day. This place has gone down hill. Will look for new vet.

The veterinary staff, doctors and hospital are excellent! Not only are they professional and knowledgeable, but very, very compassionate. I took my 3 furbabies for a checkup and teeth cleaning. They called me with updates and gave me detailed instructions on after-care...especially for the one who had several teeth pulled. Then, I got a follow-up call the next day to see how they were doing. I'm taking my kitties to Alpine for any and all care they deserve!

I have 4 cats and each one has gotten into something that required surgery or intense blood workup. As stressed as one becomes over the health of one's pet, in addition the cost also weighs heavily also.
