We have taken ALL of our dogs here for their entire lives & haven't had a problem until recently. I am so disappointed in my last interaction there. I woke up one morning to find my dog had unexpectedly passed away. We were in total shock. We called Disney who said to bring our girl in & they would handle cremating her. Upon our arrival, a woman came out w/ a black bag to take our dog inside... my fiancé & I opted to take her in ourselves in a blanket brought from home. They take us through the back entrance. We lay her down & before we could full set her down the women says, “Do you want your blanket back?” My fiancé & I looked at each other & said, “well yeah..” & before we knew it she had ripped the blanket out from under her. I had a confused look on my face but ignored it & proceeded to say goodbye to my baby. It was very uncomfortable as they sat there & watched us; zero privacy provided to say our goodbyes. A few mins later, as I we are crying/hugging our dog, the staff brings a dog back into the same room & proceeds to laugh/play w/ this dog as if we were not there. I was so utterly upset as to what was going on. I already felt rushed because she had passed so suddenly & it was a Saturday so they were closing early. To bring another dog back & play w/ them 2ft away from us while we are mourning… I was completely appalled. I am disgusted w/ the bedside manner that I encountered that day. Complete disrespect; no empathy, & no compassion. It was absolutely not what I expected. I thought we would be provided w/ as great of an experience as someone can have given the situation. I understand that working there you encounter these situations often & may become “numb”, but that in no way justifies how they acted. I am a ER RN; I am surrounded by death just as they are & I would NEVER act that way towards someone’s family. Needless to say, we will not be bringing our 2nd dog there to be cremated nor will we be bringing any future fur babies there to receive care. Read Less

Love this place! Dont take your family members anywhere else. Parking is a bit tuff when they are busy but the care you get here is worth the minor hassle. All the docs here are patient and listen to you. They tend not to push needed thing on you or your pet. My only suggestion is more waiting room seating. I live in Los Angeles, but my in-laws live a few blocks from Disney Pet Hospital. My husband and his family continue to speak highly about the staff and vet team, but I keep encouraging him to find a vet closer to home. Well, after this weekend, I can see why my husband loves the staff, and I am more than willing to drive the 400+ miles if it means my puppies get quality treatment. We brought our two Frenchies to get spayed and neutered, microchipped, and their noses trimmed so they could breathe better. Dr. Pisanelli did a fantastic job, and knew the intricacy of dealing with short-nose breeds like our pups. They were both back to normal within 24 hours. We did notice that our boy was having some sort of reaction, and we took him to the local pet emergency hospital. When we came back to see Dr. Pisanelli, she figured out what might have happened, and not only did she refund some of the cost from the original procedure, she went above and beyond by also picking up the tab from the emergency visit. Out of my many years of experience with vets, I've never had someone go well beyond what I already expect as great customer service. I barely met the staff today, but I saw right away just why my family loves them. I absolutely recommend this business. I have a cat named Lilly who has a rare condition for a cat (blocked saliva gland) and Disney pet hospital has been nothing short of amazing. I had been to several vets about the condition but I will continue all pet care here from now on. The staff is incredible, especially the tech Valerie. We took Abby in to have a foxtail removed from her nose. The staff was wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. Dr. Rothe actually took the time to talk to me about Abby. We haven't had a better experience anywhere else. I would highly recommend this clinic. I would like to add to this review. On 5/19/2017, we had to take BJ, our cat, in for a yearly check up regarding hypothyroidism. Again the stafff and Dr. Rothe were very cordial and helpful. Dr. Rothe was also very informative regarding an alternative treatment for BJs condition. One which we will definitely pursue. Again, a wonderful experience. Read Less

I hate to write this review....I have been taking my animals, my mothers dog, and my grandmas dog here for over 15 years. I called tonight 15 minutes before closing and asked if I could bring my 15+ year old dog in to be put down. They told me no, that neither doctor recognized the chart and they could refer me somewhere else. WTF I've spent $1000's over the years and referred many.  When we first started going there the vets were awesome, not so much these days. Never again. Read Less

Dr. Rothe and his staff are knowledgeable, caring, and patient. We have used them for our 2 family dogs. Our current dog, a Labradoodle, always seems happy to be going there. It's like a big social for her, even though she's had shots, exams, and was spayed. Everyone is upbeat, and she responds well because of it. Our first dog, who died at 16 years old, was a bit skittish about other dogs after being attacked by a dog in heat in our neighborhood. When we'd go for visits to Disney Pet Hospital the receptionists were sensitive to her being skittish and would get us into an exam room right away, rather than have her stress about being in the waiting room with other dogs. That kind of sensitivity really makes it easier on the animal and the pet owner. Disney Pet Hospital is a positive environment, and they've kept our pets healthy for 20+ years. Read Less

Last year we noticed that our dog was having a hard time getting up and down the stairs we took him for a walk one day and we noticed that he couldn't even get into the car any longer the next day we took him to the vet where we got probably the worst news we've ever had regarding our pets he had to blown ACL that he had had pretty much his whole life and he was only two years old the vet we took him to said it would be around $8,000 for both legs to be done and that we should take them to UC Davis to see what they could do after realizing that we really couldn't afford 8 to $10,000 worth of surgery I tried Disney Pet Hospital after I was referred from a client of mine as soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile, the vet treated my dog as if he was his own even though he was close to 80 pounds at this point he picked him up and put him on the examining table gave him the treat and pet him to make him feel better. they had the BEST prices and experience. I now have a happy-go-lucky loving dog that I can run and play and be with his other dog friends no matter where we go they got him to walk on all four legs again and I can never express the gratitude that I still feel every time I see him go swimming,run,walk.... any thing thank you for giving me a chance 2 have my dog as long as he possibly can and have him be comfortable while he's here.Read Less

This is my new and PERMANENT vet!! I live in Brentwood and will drive the 30 min any time for service like theirs. I've been with other local vets in the Brentwood area for the past 14 years and even with the existing relationship, when my 9 year old Bella was injured over the Memorial Day weekend, we needed help fast and couldn't get a hold of any! On Memorial day, I called around everywhere to get my dog seen as she was in agony, finally got in to a vet in Concord who was great, gave x-rays & pain meds, but they couldn't help us as my dog had a dislocated hip. We were referred to East Bay pet hospital, but they did not have any surgeons in that day. We were quoted $5000 for a full orthopedic surgery, or $2000 for an FHO procedure where they shave the femur head and allow the bone to form a new joint at the hip. After calling every Vet in the bay area, only a handful would even consider reading my email with the x-rays & doctor evaluation we received from the 2 vets ($500 spent already) to give us an estimate for surgery. The best we could find was an intern program that was going to charge us just over $1000 for the FHO, but they couldn't do it for 10 more days! My dog was in pain and staring at me daily for help, even with meds. Disney pet hospital was one of the few vets that understood our financial constraints, was willing to look at the email (rather than insist we come in person for an office evaluation and pay $100 like the rest of the vets), and give us an estimate for the FHO surgery over the phone. They estimated it at $800 and said they could do it 2 days later! Everyone was very friendly and reassuring. My dog has extreme anxiety and they were very sensitive to that. Not only did they perform the surgery, they did blood work, gave us a months worth of pain meds and a cone and did not charge us a penny over their original quote of $800!!! My Bella is healing well and is on the road to recovery and it didn't break our savings account either! They are caring, affordable and work with integrity. Read Less

I adore Dr. Rothe, he has been my vet for 20+ yrs and I feel very comfortable leaving my dogs in his care. He is fair and honest and will never cheat you. He truely cares for the well being of your pet and is very knowledgable and up to date on animal issues. I love the fact that my dogs are not shut away in some room. I love Disney Pet Hospital. Their prices are fair, they don't try to gouge you or push services your pet doesn't need. Their staff is wonderful and caring. You know they are real animal lovers. Dr. Rothe and Dr. Halperin have taken such good care of my cats and dogs. Dr. Rothe saved one of my cats several years ago. They are problem solvers and understand how much your pets mean to you. Dr Rothe is my faveorite vet - I would not take my pets to any other hospital. Dr Halperin is great, too. The veterinarians and vet techs take the time to talk with you and take great care of the animals they see. There is great compassion for the pets as your extended family members, and there is a great work ethic here. Getting your pets spayed or neutered? Take them here! This facility does not try and add other unneccessary fees, services, etc. they will recommend a panel before a surgical treatment of any kind on an onlder pet - a worthwhile investment. Read Less
