Vca Monte Vista Animal Hospital

Concord, California
General Info
The VCA Monte Vista Animal Hospital situated in Concord delivers an observational-based veterinary experience that aligns with how animals naturally investigate their surroundings and adjust to new situations for pets and their caregivers across California. When animals arrive, they undergo check-in observations that include medical assessments as well as evaluations of their responses to scent layers, flooring texture, eye contact, and nearby movement. Clinicians modify the examination process upon receiving posture signals and handling feedback by adjusting the flow to slow down or pause when they detect restlessness breath changes or resistance. Examinations encompass intricate assessments of coat thickness alongside bodily hydration levels, muscle structure, limb response patterns, dental surface conditions, oral temperature readings, and abdominal pliability. Property holders receive invitations to discuss recent domestic patterns where subtle shifts in daily routines combined with vocal changes and energy movements provide guidance for future actions. VCA Monte Vista Animal Hospital delivers structured diagnostics combined with immunizations and pain tracking while providing aging wellness protocols alongside collaborative illness mapping. The scheduling of appointments enables either one-time visits or extended multi-day sessions based on the emotional capacity of both pets and their owners. An assortment of visual instruments including diagrams, tracking calendars, and photo logs are utilized to facilitate communication during multiple visits. Follow-up care isn’t a reminder—it’s a conversation. Behavioral settling determines check-ins instead of relying solely on timeframes. Pet owners learn methods to observe their animals' sensory regulation along with activity re-entry following visits especially for those pets who show withdrawal or externalization behaviors after stimulation-heavy experiences. VCA Monte Vista Animal Hospital delivers veterinary services throughout Concord and nearby California regions by initiating care through awareness while sustaining home-based routines and respecting physical and emotional limits from beginning to end.

We got a kitty, brought him to VCA Animal Hospital for a check up and a couple of vaccine shots for kittens. We prepaid good money for future vaccines and made an appointment in two weeks to get some of his next vaccines done. We came in in the above-mentioned two weeks and they told us we never made an appointment. Two months later, we called in again to make an appointment for our cat to get those shots. They told us (for the first time) that the vaccines have to be done within two weeks from each other, therefore the first couple of vaccines our kitten got do not count anymore because ''we messed up and didn't make an appointment'', so the money we paid for the first vaccines have gone to waste because we have to pay all over again. We are very upset and will not take our cat to this mess hospital again, as no one bothered to inform us about this and they wasted our money and time. Absolutely do not recommend. Read Less

We have been bring our pets to VCA Monte Vista since we moved to the East Bay 24 years ago. They have been fantastic; the proof is the long lives of our pets. The dog we had when we moved here was a 45-pound terrier mix who lived to 17. Our current cat is 17 now and our dog is 16 and both have been cared for by Monte Vista since we first got them as a kitten and a pup. They are caring, professional, and efficient. I can't recommend them highly enough. Read Less

My experience with VCA Monte Vista Animal Hospital was very positive. When calling for an appointment, once I explained the symptoms with my puppy's nose, the receptionist made arrangements for my visit that afternoon. Dr. Margaret Bivens spent nearly forty-five minutes with me and Snickers, explained the possibilities for the problem at hand, recommended a treatment and a follow-up specialist, if the treatment was not successful. A week later, Snicker's nose looks the best it has in nine months. During that time I had her at another Vet several times, for several treatments with no success. Because of the professional attention my pet received during this visit, I will also be bringing my other dog Hershey to Monte Vista in the future, and recommending Monte Vista to all my friends.
