We are extremely pleased with the care that our cat, Jessie, received from Dr. Lee. He (the cat) became acutely ill, so I called CAH on a Saturday morning. The staff was professional, kind and accommodating, giving us a same-day appointment. After examining Jessie, Dr. Lee gave us several options regarding diagnostic testing and further work-up. As pet parents know, veterinary care for a sick pet can be very expensive, sometimes prohibitively so. We all wish that we didn't have to weigh financial realities against a pet's veterinary needs, however, this wonderful Animal Hospital wouldn't be there for our pets if they couldn't pay their employees, the lease, the equipment, etc. It's unfair to expect a Veterinary Hospital to carry balances, because they also have bills and salaries to pay. Thankfully, they offer "Care Credit" for people who need financial help to pay for their fur baby's care, which offers a variety of payment plans including a no-interest option. Nobody expects to be faced with the costs of a pet injury or illness, but unfortunately this is part of pet ownership and CAH is kind enough to accept Care Credit. Also, people need to understand that testing does not always reveal the problem. As with people, there are no guarantees that the problem will be found and if found, that it is something that can be cured. Having said this, Dr. Lee was upfront with what blood tests & radiologic studies would cost and did not make us feel at all pressured into paying for testing that may or may not reveal the problem. We chose to go forward with testing, and the fees were quite reasonable (in fact, much less than what we had been charged in Costa Mesa). Dr. Lee explained the results thoroughly and answered our many questions honestly and compassionately. He gave Jessie subcutaneous fluids to hydrate him and medicine for us to give him at home, and even showed us how to administer fluids subcutaneously at home to keep the little knucklehead hydrated. This was incredibly helpful because, as most cat owners know, going to the vet is an ORDEAL. Not just for the cat, but for the owner that must listen to the pitiful, soul-crushing noises coming from the cat carrier. And then there's getting the cat INTO the carrier, which for us involves a blanket and weeks of feline resentment.Dr. Lee emailed us every day for a progress update while Jessie was sick, even on his days off, which was really going "above and beyond". Jessie is getting better, but I'm so glad to know that when we need him, Dr. Lee & his wonderful staff will be there to take care of our little furry butterball :) Read Less
