Very Bad Experience! My friend told me they met a good doctor, but my pet's vet is terrible. My pet got bitten badly, the doctor would not take a look at my pet, she recommend to anaesthetize him first, then she will take a look after. I am so disappoint based on this bad experiences. If there is a option to vote 0 star, I will defiantly to do so! The Chinese vet is terrible, do not ever come to this clinic anymore! Read Less

I just left from this hospital. Honestly I am very disappointed. The nurses were very nice and sweet. But the female Chinese vet was really terrible!!! Lack of experience and patience to me and my dog, she did not even come close to my dog!!! I do not want to write the detail of what happened, I think it was totally waste of my time. I just want to tell everyone who reads my feedback: if I ever have a better choice I would not go to this hospital at the first place and at the same time , I am so guilty that I did not protect my dog from injury. Only thinking making money. Doesn’t really care about dog. My dog’s left eye was hurt. There is blood and pus on her eye. I took her to east valley on Sunday afternoon. They say for Retina exam is $400. I declined it. Because I want to go to my vet for exam on Monday. So they just give her 2 injection and some medicine. They even didn’t clean my dog’s eye. And charge me for 200 dollars. On Monday, my vet say doesn’t need to take exam for Retina. And my dog’s retina is fine. And say the medicine that east valley gave me is not to cure my dog’s eye just for less painful. My vet give my dog 1 injection and some medicine and clean up my dog’s eye just cost 89. Fortunately, I did decline the retina exam. Or I’ll waste more $400. Read Less

This animal hospital truly saved our precious sheltie, Juliet. She was only 3 years old when she "ingested a bee" walking to our pool as it turned out and went out of control into anaphylaxis which we knew nothing about. We have four dogs and have had many more thru the years but never .... ever.... experienced anaphylactic shock in our many years. Knew something was off until she collapsed and could not get up and took her to this great hospital. Luckily, we live in Diamond Bar and not a long drive even though must admit way past the speed limit to get her there. They took her right back as she had to be carried in. She was breathing with difficulty and worried we would lose her. They immediately took her vitals and began the testing and such. They so took care of her.....having to leave her overnight but omgosh we got our dog back as she was before we carried her in. She now has an Epipen for bees if necessary but her coat is so huge they won't penetrate it. But clear the yard before she goes out anymore because of the bees come walking on the ground to the pool. And they still do. Because of this hospital.....we learned how to control it....and an Epipen for emergency. Read Less

Brought my Havanese Josie in on Friday night because she had not been able to urinate and was panting a lot. The doctor was very knowledgeable and took an x-ray to confirm his diagnosis of stones in her bladder. She had emergency surgery that evening. At 5 am I couldn't sleep because I kept thinking about her and called and the guy who answered the phone was so good and explained how everything went with me and that she was doing fine. We picked her up on Saturday, and they gave us the stones to get analyzed by our vet. I called today, Monday, because she seemed to still be having trouble with a sensation of urination long after she has gone. The same guy who spoke to me Saturday morning answered the phone and explained that her bladder was still irritated and that it was normal and should resolve itself in a few day. I am so very impressed with this place. The bill was very reasonable too. I wish I had gotten his name, but the guy who answers the phone is a great asset to the place. Read Less

I am writing this review about this wonderful emergency animal clinic East Valley Emergency Pet clinic. A couple days ago, we brought our 1 year old beagle mix, Dante in because he was having difficulty walking and balancing on his front paws. At first we thought it was complications from a dog bite puncture wound he had gotten a few days earlier. Dr. LaFave did extensive examinations on him. Xrays, blood work, IV fluids etc. She kept him overnight to see if his condition improved. She explained our treatment options very caringly and sympathetically. She really made us comfortable during this difficult time. She thought it might be a spinal cord injury or a tear in his neck muscle from jumping off something as dogs tend to do. She prescribed some pain meds and antibiotics and steroids. We will be taking him back tonight for a follow up check up. So far the medication and rest seems to be helping tremendously. If you have a pet that needs TLC, please bring them here. They love your pet! Read Less

This place is amazing. I don't know why some other reviewers say the staff is rude - I can honestly say that the up front staff was absolutely incredible. Alex made us feel comfortable and moved mountains to work with us on the cost of a bill for two extensive procedures for my precious kitty Bali :).... Dr. Jammu was compassionate, kind, and thorough. Even though we ultimately decided to wait on the procedure, if we were to get the blood transfusion done, we would have felt IMMENSELY comfortable having it done here. We have decided to wait a day to see how our cat baby is doing before we decide to proceed with the procedure but - the diagnostic (blood work, ultrasound, etc) was all done in house and in under and hour! They made us feel loved and understood. We experienced no pressure - in fact, Alex made us feel relief. I highly recommend taking your pet here if there is an emergency (which I hope doesn't happen, but you know what I mean;)) Read Less

Let it be known that this so called Veterinarian Hospital is nothing more than a establishment looking out for profit (on the high end). It's run by secretaries or assistants or whatever the girls at the front desk are called who are complete half wits and have no experience in compassion. The are the most moronic, slow and dim witted lot I have ever witnessed in Vet experiences. To add insult to injury the Doctor has an accent thicker than the yellow pages and leaves you asking him questions over and over again so that perhaps he can clarify his diagnosis. A play on your emotions, if anyone brings their animal here for a dire emergency be aware to bring a stack of cash, an arm or a leg to keep your animal alive. X-rays and blood work run to the tune of over $650 and oxygen chambers to $130 but that is aside from the $68 consultation. The doctor may know what's wrong with your animal and may insist on performing exams to determine "the cause", but in all reality he could save you the expense but just being forthright. Perhaps I am bitter, but I must leave this review so others know about the possible horrors. Total wait time? 3 hours. Entered at 10pm left at 1am. Returned at 3am with my dog D.O.A. I could have spend precious time with my pet, but instead these idiots take an hour to draw up a receipt! Ridiculous! Read Less

Last weekend my baby boy got sick and we made the extremely tough decision to put him down. He was 10 years old and had lost his sense of direction & depth perception, his ability to recognize anyone, and could barely stand on his own. This was especially hard because just days earlier he was still acting like a 6 month old puppy - all the energy and happiness in the world! We searched local veterinary offices, and came across East Valley. They had great reviews and were very sweet over the phone, so we decided this is where we would take him. Not only were they extremely helpful, but they were sympathetic, as well. They didn't turn into robots and shut off all emotion - they made me feel like my Misfit mattered to them, and he wasn't just another dog in for euthanasia. When we were asked to leave the room so they could insert the catheter, I came back in to one of the vet techs cuddling with and comforting my boy. The veterinarian offered us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. After he had passed, they didn't pressure us to leave. They allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted in the room with Misfit. They really made our extremely hard day a little less stressful. I am extremely grateful for this. I made the decision to have Misfit cremated. East Valley was not only inexpensive compared to most other places in the area, but they went above and beyond! I picked up my baby's ashes yesterday. They were presented to me in a gorgeous wooden box. The box even had a gold plaque with Misfit's name engraved on it. They also provided me with a clay imprint of Misfit's paw and a stand to display it. The amount of appreciation that I have for East Valley is unreal. They definitely go above and beyond. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Thank you, to all the girls working when I brought Misfit in last Saturday. You are all angels. Read Less

Then after doctor exam her foot and found a very tiny piece of bee stinger in her lower foot. She got two shots and everything is fine. The service is good in a holiday like memorial day. Employees were nice and wait time was reasonable, but they had one huge flaw I could NEVER forgive.  I brought my dog in because he was having seizures, and they prescribed him with anti seizure meds. They told me to follow the dosage strictly. After giving him the medication for a few days, my dog SUDDENLY passed away, from a unpleasant death. The pills they prescribed caused HORRIBLE side effects, which include inability to move, vertigo, nausea. THEY NEVER MENTIONED SIDE EFFECTS. When I talked with other veterinarians, all of them said that my dog was OVERDOSED. East Valley either didn't consider my dogs weight or got my dog's weight wrong. A small overdose goes a long way, especially considering how potent the medication was. My beloved dog is gone. I cannot place all the blame on East Valley, but if they were to provide me FULL KNOWLEDGE of side effects and the CORRECT dosage... my dog may have lived on for years. Read Less

My family and I couldn't be happier with this ER. All the employees we have had dealings with have been so helpful, kind, caring, and sweet. They all seem to truly take their job serious and are concerned with their patients. Our dog was attacked pretty bad by a coyote the other night and was rushed to them. As far as we are concerned, They saved our dog's life. They sent her home several hours after her surgery with a very detailed summary of everything they did to her, what they found, and how to properly take care of her while she gets through this hard recovery. To our surprise, one of the girls called to check on her the following day. (We appreciated that) I would actually prefer to take our dog to them and pay extra money just knowing she's in good hands. I advise the owners or management to have all their employees attend a mandatory course on customer service and some type of compassion course. My husband laughed and told me .. "don't expect good service. When it's emergency care, you are at their mercy." And sadly, it's true. They can charge ridiculous amounts and "run" all type of tests and basically we ARE at their mercy. I would bet money that if an investigation was done on this joke of a place no one left w/less than a $500 min bill. Late at night my dog that was sleeping suddenly woke up panting, body was hot, and she couldn't even stand. She was fine the whole day and usually she is a house dog so nothing to do with the heat. My husband googled Pet Hospitals ER. We rushed in and we were helped immediately since it was late and empty. The employee who helped (and I use the word Help very loosely) seemed uninterested and was snippy. She took my dog and went to the back and told us to wait in the waiting room. At least the waiting room was clean and air-conditioned. They called us within minutes and the Dr came asking us basic questions like did she get into medications? Snail bait? She said it looks like a toxin problem and they might have to pump her stomach just to be sure. I mentioned that my dogs sister (friend and I bought from the same Breeder and same litter) has an issue w becoming overly excited which results to shaking, drooling, and panting. She said my dogs symptoms are different and if .. I QUOTE... depending on finances, they will see how to proceed. She's already prewarning me that this will be costly before even assessing my dog. WE WERENT EVEN ALLOWED IN THE ROOM. Has anyone ever gone to the vet and they tell you to wait in the waiting room and your dog will tell us what's wrong? I don't get it. I tell her to go ahead and do the bloodwork to see if it's a toxin issue. (She said it will take 45 minutes) We have a baby in the house so we are already extra cautious but when the vet assistant came and I told her I just didn't understand how it could be a toxin problem. She said my dog could have got into some cough syrup. My 5lb Yorkie had the skill to open up some NyQuil? She comes with the clipboard and circles 2 prices. She explains this is the HIGH end and this is the LOW end and sign here. It's only been 10 minutes, I don't know what I'm signing, what's wrong w my dog, and the results of the bloodwork. Well, like my hubby said, we are at their mercy. The low end is $600 plus. She said we could go home because regardless she will have to stay overnight (their policy) and be picked up by 8am and they will call us if any additional tests need to be done. They called a few hours later and said she's no longer shaking and bloodwork was normal and to pick her up in the morning. My Husband picks her up early morning and she seems fine. At no point did they say HEY something is still wrong and you need to go to the vet. Per our late night phone call, they said everything was ok, bloodwork was normal. 2 days later (tonight) we wanted to give her a bath and my husband noticed the catheter was still in my dogs leg. What the ... when they discharged her nobody thought it was important to let us know? That something was still injected? I was livid. I called and they said we were suppose to bring her to our vet. They said everything was normal and nobody said to bring her when my husband picked her up. And regardless, someone should have mentioned there was a catheter still in her. We drove down from chino to have them remove it. I ask to go w my dog to the room for them to do it but they said no. I ask for the name of the person who denied me and other girl comes out with an attitude. She brought the tape and cotton that she needed and was going to just remove it right there in the waiting room. I also wanted to know who discharged my dog and failed to mention the catheter and another lady comes out w her defenses high saying " it's me! I delivered your dog. And I told you to go to the vet" She told me IM SORRY YOU DONT. UNDERSTAND as if I don't understand English. It's annoying for people to play the race card but when a 80 year old Caucasian lady is telling the Chinese girl " you don't understand ". I'm going to play that race card. When someone is working in any type of Emergency level care .. one should have the requirements of learning how to handle people.  Everyone comes in because its urgent! It's already a stressful situation and it doesn't help that we have to "battle" the employees as well.  Bedside manner is important. A simple Sorry would have made me feel better that someone actually CARED. I know it's a terribly long and boring review lol but My whole point is ... if this is how they treat us as paying customers, how are they treating our pets in the back? The ones that they don't allow us to see them receive care and the ones who have no voice. Read Less

Last night was the one of the hardest decisions I have ever made in my life. My dog was suffering and there were no other options. I had been to several different vets throughout the week and all had the same info. The vet here gave me her personal opinion as well as her professional opinion which I appreciated so much. You can tell that the vet herself was a pet lover and recognized my relationship with my dog and seen the pain that we were both in. She even teared up talking to us and showed so much compassion as well as the rest of the staff there. At a time of despair and sadness like this, the last thing you want to think about is the cost of all it. I was freaking out inside that it was all going to be super expensive but to my surprise it was extremely fair and reasonable. Also, out of all the vets that we had spoke with this week, they all recommended this place for emergency pet services. This review is for Dr. LeFave, only. Not her staff- I felt her staff wasn't compassionate or friendly. But I understand the doctor will probably have a hard time finding quality people to work her graveyard shifts. I rather have an excellent doctor over a nice staff. That's just my opinion. Dr. LeFave is excellent. Btw, she also graduated from one of the top veterinary schools in the nation- UC Davis. Which says a lot about her training. I brought my rabbit, Dasha here a year ago because she was getting skinny no matter what I fed her. She would eat but weight was just dropping off her body. Since the health of small animals like rabbits can deteriorate very rapidly, I brought her here because I didn't want to wait over the weekend. Waiting three days to see my regular vet would have been foolish, as three days is a lot of time for a rabbit. Dr. LeFave is an exotic animal specialist and she took some X-rays of Dasha. Unfortunately, my poor rabbit had cancer that had spread throughout her entire body. I was heartbroken. I had to put her to sleep as it had spread into her lungs. The doctor gave me plenty of time to grieve and spend some time with my rabbit before having to say my final goodbyes. I had her cremated. A couple of weeks later, an animal charity sent me a letter of condolence and letting me know Dr. LeFave made a donation to them in honor of Dasha. I thought this was a wonderful gesture on her behalf.Dasha left Mimi behind- her bonded best friend since they were litter mates. Mimi is healthy and doing fine. But I know where to bring her if she has any issues. Excellent veterinarian! Read Less

The Dr.s and workers were kind and very understanding. They communicated with my usual vet Dr. Goldstein in Walnut everyday when my basset was ill. It was a emotional experience to say the least, but the staff and Doctors made me feel welcomed and they truly loved my basset hound. I have been going here for late night emergency treatment since 1999 with my pets. I've had to put two cats to sleep and both times the staff were amazing with the experience. They were patient and kind. completely respectful. A great place to say goodbye to your pets. Read Less

This is the only ER in my area, however I will say I am grateful there is one to go to.  Came in around 9 pm as my dog had severe gallbladder issue making her physically ill.Staff: I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.  I see many reviews regarding their "rude" behavior but I had no experience with that.  My only issue is the cost.  Everything seemed to add up quickly. Charging a high amount for every procedure.  Safe to say, this place makes bank.  My dad went in a couple days later to pick up our dog and mentioned how every animal getting picked up was hooked to an IV...aka all those owners were being charged a lot of money.  Fraudulent? Doctor speculated that we had a party on saturday and the cat got into medical marijuana. My husband had his father and brother over for the HBO Canelo fight. Last night we had to put our beloved dog Lincoln down.  After a few months with congestive heart failure the decision was made late last night.  Since our vet office was closed I called East Valley and when I explained the situation the girl on the phone was very compassionate and letting me know that I can take him in when I was ready. When we went into the office they took us into a room right a way there was no waiting in the lobby which was pretty full.  They took us to a room with a sofa and we were allowed to spend more time with Lincoln.  When it was time Dr. LeFave came in she was so caring of our feelings and so compassionate towards the needs of our beloved family member she explained everything to us and allowed us to hold him in our arms while he was being injected.   This brought us so much joy that our Lincoln didn't have to have his last moments on a cold metal table his last breaths were in the arms of the people who loved him through out his 15 years of life.  After we left the room all staff members kept telling us they were sorry for our loss. The staff and most of all the doctor was so compassionate and caring.  THANK YOU ALL for your warm, compassionate and caring attitudes during such a difficult time!  I pray that my Lord and Savior will Bless you and your clinic! Took my 3year old dog, after he trying to eat a bee, which stung him in the lip. Turns out he is severely allergic. Lip was very swollen and by the time I got to Vet he was covered in hives. Walking in I was a nervous wreck. The staff was amazing, as soon as I got there I was taken into a room and the young lady who helped us could see the hives , she filled out the paper work for me. Within less then five minutes the doctor was in checking out my dog. Took him back to check for the stinger, which could not be found. Gave my dog two shots. And we were on our way home. Everything was explained with the cost as we talked about it. I took care of the bill as they were caring for my dog. I was very pleased with the service and my bill was not as bad as I had imagined it might be. Great staff and vet, prices were responsible. I will come back again. Thank you! Read Less

I had the misfortune of having my kitty pass at home away after a long illness. Of course she had to pass away late Saturday night. What in the world were we to do? Our veterinarian wasn't open on a Sunday, which was the case with most places we looked up that night. We called a few businesses that handled cremations. They would come pick up my kitty (why would I want strangers coming to my house?), take care of the cremation, then return her remains to my house a week or two later. When I asked about dropping my kitty off, they both said they were small businesses that did not have a brick and mortar location. One place charged $220 and the other charged $240. Yikes! But their services included a clay print of kitty's paw and her remains in a nice wood box. Then I called East Valley Emergency Pet Clinic. We had been there years before for a different kitty who was sick. They are open 24 hours a day on the weekends. When I called, they were sweet in offering condolences and comforting me. They invited me to bring my kitty in and they would take care of the cremation services and I could pick her remains up in 7 - 10 days. I brought her by and they were incredibly sweet and patient, explaining the process again. I was able to sit in a private room with a medical table and a couch to say my goodbyes. They were very professional and compassionate, which was a surprise considering it was past midnight at that point.  I paid my $80 cremation fee (cash requested) and left. 5 days later I received a phone call letting me know my kitty's remains were ready for pick up. When I picked up my kitty to my surprise her ashes were in a beautiful wood box with her name engraved in a plate on top. I also received a beautiful clay print of her paw. There was also a beautiful certificate noting her special life and some additional comforting poems and notes.Thank goodness I called East Valley instead of letting one of those other places take care of the cremation service. East Valley was $140 cheaper and I feel I received superb professional and compassionate service, As a side note, we were happy with their emergency services a few years back for the other kitty issue as well. Do NOT come here !!!! I am not ever the one to write a review but this place deserves 0 stars. Absolutely horrible service! They don't care about the people OR animals at all. My girlfriend and I took our 8month old puppy here for an open cut. They told us she had to stay for surgery and we could pick her up the next morning, before we left we confirmed with them if we could leave. They called us soon after we left and needed a payment over the phone because apparently we were supposed to pay before we left. They made it seem like it was our fault. Then told us we couldn't pick up until the next morning. At around 7:30 the next morning they called and said we were supposed to pick up last night!!! and that they close at 8am! We got there and expressed our concerns with the girl up front Vanessa who didn't have any emotion or sympathy about what we had to say.. She just wanted to rush us out and seemed so ANNOYED that we were even talking to her. She was not apologetic at all that it was their fault our puppy had to stay there over night when she wasn't supposed to. RAll we needed was a true "sorry for all the miscommunication" but we never got that. My gf has worked in animal hospitals for years and never has seen such careless people! HORRIBLE PLACE!! OWNERS BEWARE!!! I made a Yelp account just to review this place. If you love and care for your furry children please do not step foot in this place! I have worked in different animal hospitals for the past 7 years and never have I seen or been treated with such carelessness and disrespect. Also working for a animal rescue group, we have referred countless people to this place.. Never again!! We took our puppy in for a laceration on her foot. She had to stay for surgery.. As we left they told us we were free to go and to call back in 3 hours to see if we can pick her up that night or the next day. And hour later, they call and said we left without paying them. I told them they didn't ask us to and they said we had to pay over the phone and couldn't wait until pick up. I asked if we could pick her up tonight and they said no we had to pick up in the morning and didn't state a time. At 7:35 am they called and asked when we are picking up because they close at 8am! And told us we were supposed to pick up last night! When we got there we waiting 30 min to pick up our baby and told the receptionist what had happened.. She couldn't have cared any less. Was not apologetic at all and looked like she would have rather stared at a wall then listen to our concerns! She was so rude! She didn't care that Maui stayed there a whole night when she didn't have to, she didn't care that it was their fault that this while situation happened.. She didn't even seem to care about her job. If anyone had done that in any of the hospitals I had worked at they would have been fired! Her name was VANESSA. Long review, but I wanted everyone to be aware of this place and please do not take your beloved babies here!! Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

As far as we are concerned, They saved our dog's life. They sent her home several hours after her surgery with a very detailed summary of everything they did to her, what they found, and how to properly take care of her while she gets through this hard recovery. Read Less

Dr. LeFave and all of the staff here are WONDERFUL. I would recommend East Valley to Everyone. I have been here several times and will continue to use and recommend them. Dr. LeFave treated me and my baby as if he were here very own baby. She is very good at what she does and when my baby needed services beyond what East Valley provides she called ahead and made sure that I could be seen at the specialist office ASAP. Even after a visit for a minor skin irritation the staff called the next day to check on us. Dr LaFave is the sweetest most caring and competent vet for general and emergency services I have EVER seen. Read Less

This is a great vet clinic. I wish they were open regular hours! I have been twice with a dog to help her with whelping two litters. They were able to make sure mom was comfortable and the puppies were attended to. Dr LeFave and her staff are knowledgeable and understanding. Twice they gave me free advice over the phone! In my opinion they really want to help you and your pets be healthy while respecting that not everything requires high priced options. When my previous vet let me down in choosing to push high priced services over true vet care these folks came through. I can't thank them enough. HIGHLY recommended.

One doctor told me that if he is out of town and his families pets needs services that, that is where they will go. Read Less

We would HIGHLY recommend you take your fur babies there if you have an after hours emergency...they are open all day on holidays Friday night thru Monday morning and during the week from 6pm-8am. Read Less

About a year and a half ago, I had to take my basset hound here for round the clock treatment of her intestine and stomach ulcers. This place was amazing! Charging a high amount for every procedure.  Safe to say, this place makes bank.  My dad went in a couple days later to pick up our dog and mentioned how every animal getting picked up was hooked to an IV...aka all those owners were being charged a lot of money.  Fraudulent?
