The primary focus of attention for the doctors at our San Diego Equine and Small Animal Clinic is the animal. Each doctor has their own beliefs and philosophies as to why they chose this profession and lifestyle. Our clinic draws strength and confidence from this foundation of beliefs. We’ve been taking our 6 year old Doberman for veterinarian care since she was a puppy. We love everything about East County Large and Small Animal Practice! Although everyone is highly professional and well trained, they are all approachable, friendly, kind and clearly animal lovers.
Last week we thought Willow had been gouged by her brother while playing at the beach. Over the weekend we noticed the wound had worsened and looked more like a bad spider bite. I called Monday morning at 8am and the receptionist said she’d get back to me to see if she could make some changes to fit us in. It took an hour or so but she called back and got us in to see Dr Omen, who was great!
There have been some new members to the staff as one of the former owners retired recently. Knowing this, I was a bit worried about getting in to see a vet quickly and even about getting a call back within a day. Apparently things are running smoothly now as all was done beyond my expectation.
Gratefully, the prices for their services are completely reasonable. For our appointment Monday, the ointment, antiseptic gauze, antibiotics, and DrOmen’s and his assistant’s services were all inclusive in the cost.
I recommend East County Large and Small Animal Practice wholeheartedly!

Yesterday my horse had a bad case of colic. I called the office and was told someone would get back to me. I waited 2 hours and no call back. called again was put on hold for 10mins. called back and was told again some one WOULD get back to me. Got call back at 7pm. Needles to say I got help from another vet who called me back in 5 min. was at my ranch in 30 min. They came highly recommend but I wont recommend them.

I love ECLAP! I know they love and care so much for the animals they treat. Brandi and Alicia are always friendly and professional. The office is clean and Dr. Bear is so nice and knowledgeable. I really trust him. I have always been able to book a convenient appointment and their prices are very fair. I am so happy with the care my dogs have received here. They treat large and small animals, my Yorkie is only 7 lbs!

I live nearby and wanted my livestock guard dogs to be checked by a vet and get their vaccines, etc. Putting the animals in the car was not an option so we were able to walk them there. When we arrived the dogs were a bit nervous from being around new human things so the vet kindly offered to see them out in the open air. He examined them both quickly, they administered shots and we left with both dogs seen in less than 20 minutes. Moving forward we will be taking all of our animals there or having them come to our house.

Having a vet who listens and cares it important to me and essential to Sammy's well being.

Such a beautiful neighborhood! The drive to the ECLAP was so calming and relaxing. My wife and I even talked about possibly one day moving into the neighborhood - just imagine how much space our corgi will have to run and frolic! We were recommended by our breeder to come see the vets here, and since our puppy has had his care from his birth up until now at this place, we agreed it was best to continue seeing the same vets until he's older. Though it's about 20 miles from where we live, we don't regret the distance or the drive at all! Dr. Oman was awesome. He's very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. It's our first puppy together, so we had a lot of concerns and wanted to know more about how to take better care of Herschel. Plus, the price is unbeatable. A new puppy exam for $30? Wow. We will definitely keep coming back to this place for as long as we can. And hopefully once our puppy is fully vaccinated, we can even take walks around the neighborhood!

We took Bobbie, our piggie to have the pig package done. He had his hoofs and tusks trimmed, along with an exam and some deworming. The doctor who worked on Bobbie (Dr. Harlan) was amazing.. and I am picky. He listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. He did not act like he knew answers to some uncommon questions if he didn't but was willing to find out the answers for me. He let me know how his procedure went when finished and what to watch for as the day progressed. The lady who assisted him, i believe her name was Nancy, was just as amazing and nice. Very thoughtful and made me feel like Bobbie was in capable hands. We drove almost 2 hours to take Bobbie to ECLAP due to their great reputation and our love for our mini pig. I plan to bring him back for his annual procedure and would highly recommend this place to other pig owners.

I took my 9 year old Sheppard mix to see Dr. Oman about his yeast filled ears (he has horrible ears). Dr. Oman sat and listened to my frustrations about how many different treatments and the money I've spent on trying to get my poor guy some sort of relief. Dr. Oman suggested sedating him and doing a total war cleaning so the medicine could actually get to the ear and heal it rather than add more medicine on top of the problem. Sedation scared me but I had no doubt when I dropped him off he would be in good hands. Dr. Oman followed up the next day with a phone call checking on my boy, making sure everything was going smooth with his recovery. I can not speak highly enough about the staff and Dr. Oman. ECLAP is amazing!

I just wanted to go check it out for myself . My poor baby Stella has been itching her self to death and no one I mean no one can tell me what's wrong with her ?! It was so sad . I finally drove down here and met with Dr. Bear and he took one look and told me what it was . It took a skin scrapping and 1 visit after that for my puppy to be healthy :) . We found the underlaying problem and tried everything to fix it . I appreciate that so much . Also very budget friendly . (: I'll refer this place all day . Btw Ashley is such a sweetheart next to Dr. Bear . Great team !

When we took our dog in we were met by Dr. Bear who immediately examined our pup. He was very courteous and professional. He cleaned out the wound and prescribed anti-biotics for her, she needed a vaccine booster. My wife and I were impressed with Dr. Bear's attentiveness and gentleness with our pup. We started using ECLAP about 30 years ago and have gotten outstanding service and care from all the Vets that work there. They are all extremely knowledgeable and if they don't know something, they aren't afraid to ask their associate for an opinion or suggestion. Dr. Smith is especially good with older horses and shows compassion for both them and their owners. It has also been great having a small animal office available. Kind of like "one stop shopping." Love their yearly Christmas party!!! Great way to show they appreciate loyalty.

Superlatives! I couldn't make up my mind whether to have a ranch call or an office visit, and the office staff was extremely patient with me. We no lo have large animals, but I didn't want to haul three cats and a dog into the local vet's office, even though it is just down the street. I would have to pay for four office visits, and to take the dog and the cats together to the ECLAP small animal office was not really not possible---so we paid for an old fashioned ranch call and Dr. Smith accommodated us like he always does. Dr. Smith is a caring, down to earth guy and always takes the practical approach. We have been with ECLAP for about 25 years and we have never had any bad issues with them. Highly supportive as well as understanding and ranch practical.

As far as I am concerned there is no better vets or practice than ECLAP around. I have been using them since my horse was 3 and he passed away at 32. They now take care of my cats and I could not be happier. Not only are these vets and everyone else working here good, nice, friendly, and really care about what they do, they are priced fairly. They care and love what they do. Helping our loved ones to stay healthy and help the sick.
I love all these people and thank God that they are here. Please give them a try if you are looking for a vet who really cares.

The primary focus of attention for the doctors at our San Diego Equine and Small Animal Clinic is the animal. Each doctor has their own beliefs and philosophies as to why they chose this profession and lifestyle. Our clinic draws strength and confidence from this foundation of beliefs. The equine vets at East County Large Animal Practice strive to provide efficient and courteous service. I’ve been to other vets where you go in for a skin rash and walk out with a quote for over a thousand dollars. Not here at ECLAP! They always save me money. I’m just so grateful for them. ❤️

We’ve been taking our 6 year old Doberman for veterinarian care since she was a puppy. We love everything about East County Large and Small Animal Practice! Although everyone is highly professional and well trained, they are all approachable, friendly, kind and clearly animal lovers.
Last week we thought Willow had been gouged by her brother while playing at the beach. Over the weekend we noticed the wound had worsened and looked more like a bad spider bite. I called Monday morning at 8am and the receptionist said she’d get back to me to see if she could make some changes to fit us in. It took an hour or so but she called back and got us in to see Dr Omen, who was great!
There have been some new members to the staff as one of the former owners retired recently. Knowing this, I was a bit worried about getting in to see a vet quickly and even about getting a call back within a day. Apparently things are running smoothly now as all was done beyond my expectation.
Gratefully, the prices for their services are completely reasonable. For our appointment Monday, the ointment, antiseptic gauze, antibiotics, and DrOmen’s and his assistant’s services were all inclusive in the cost.
I recommend East County Large and Small Animal Practice wholeheartedly!

Yesterday my horse had a bad case of colic. I called the office and was told someone would get back to me. I waited 2 hours and no call back. called again was put on hold for 10mins. called back and was told again some one WOULD get back to me. Got call back at 7pm. Needles to say I got help from another vet who called me back in 5 min. was at my ranch in 30 min. They came highly recommend but I wont recommend them.

He even gave me the opportunity to see how to give my pig and injection behind the ear in case I would like to give it a try in the future. I love ECLAP! I know they love and care so much for the animals they treat. Brandi and Alicia are always friendly and professional. The office is clean and Dr. Bear is so nice and knowledgeable. I really trust him. I have always been able to book a convenient appointment and their prices are very fair. I am so happy with the care my dogs have received here. They treat large and small animals, my Yorkie is only 7 lbs!

I live nearby and wanted my livestock guard dogs to be checked by a vet and get their vaccines, etc. Putting the animals in the car was not an option so we were able to walk them there. When we arrived the dogs were a bit nervous from being around new human things so the vet kindly offered to see them out in the open air. He examined them both quickly, they administered shots and we left with both dogs seen in less than 20 minutes. Moving forward we will be taking all of our animals there or having them come to our house.

Dr. Ryan and the staff were wonderful to Sammy and loved the way we both were treated. Sammy, my dachshund has had skin and allergy issues all of his life ( rescue ) and its been and will be a life long issue for him. Having a vet who listens and cares it important to me and essential to Sammy's well being.

Such a beautiful neighborhood! The drive to the ECLAP was so calming and relaxing. My wife and I even talked about possibly one day moving into the neighborhood - just imagine how much space our corgi will have to run and frolic! We were recommended by our breeder to come see the vets here, and since our puppy has had his care from his birth up until now at this place, we agreed it was best to continue seeing the same vets until he's older. Though it's about 20 miles from where we live, we don't regret the distance or the drive at all! Dr. Oman was awesome. He's very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. It's our first puppy together, so we had a lot of concerns and wanted to know more about how to take better care of Herschel. Plus, the price is unbeatable. A new puppy exam for $30? Wow. We will definitely keep coming back to this place for as long as we can. And hopefully once our puppy is fully vaccinated, we can even take walks around the neighborhood!

We took Bobbie, our piggie to have the pig package done. He had his hoofs and tusks trimmed, along with an exam and some deworming. The doctor who worked on Bobbie (Dr. Harlan) was amazing.. and I am picky. He listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. He did not act like he knew answers to some uncommon questions if he didn't but was willing to find out the answers for me. He let me know how his procedure went when finished and what to watch for as the day progressed. The lady who assisted him, i believe her name was Nancy, was just as amazing and nice. Very thoughtful and made me feel like Bobbie was in capable hands. We drove almost 2 hours to take Bobbie to ECLAP due to their great reputation and our love for our mini pig. I plan to bring him back for his annual procedure and would highly recommend this place to other pig owners.

So came to ECLAP. Really happy I did. Really like Dr. Bear!! he and the others took wonderful care of my baby girl Jazz. I took my 9 year old Sheppard mix to see Dr. Oman about his yeast filled ears (he has horrible ears). Dr. Oman sat and listened to my frustrations about how many different treatments and the money I've spent on trying to get my poor guy some sort of relief. Dr. Oman suggested sedating him and doing a total war cleaning so the medicine could actually get to the ear and heal it rather than add more medicine on top of the problem. Sedation scared me but I had no doubt when I dropped him off he would be in good hands. Dr. Oman followed up the next day with a phone call checking on my boy, making sure everything was going smooth with his recovery. I can not speak highly enough about the staff and Dr. Oman. ECLAP is amazing!

We loved working with ECLAP! Doctor Harlan was great with our very energetic two-year old mare and the office staff was amazing and easy to work with as well. We called 10 minutes before our appointment to change our plans and they were happy to accommodate. I would definitely trust them with any of my horses and would recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Bear is awesome . That's it . But sadly Yelp won't let me say just that lol . I was referred to this place by my cousins Haneen and Mina . They claimed it was the best vet .. blah blah.. I just wanted to go check it out for myself . My poor baby Stella has been itching her self to death and no one I mean no one can tell me what's wrong with her ?! It was so sad . I finally drove down here and met with Dr. Bear and he took one look and told me what it was . It took a skin scrapping and 1 visit after that for my puppy to be healthy :) . We found the underlaying problem and tried everything to fix it . I appreciate that so much . Also very budget friendly . (: I'll refer this place all day . Btw Ashley is such a sweetheart next to Dr. Bear . Great team !

All of ECLAPs vet are wonderful and Dr Harlan is a great addition to the group. We have just been through a emotionally overwhelming week with Billy Goat. My wife and I took our dog in on a Saturday morning (June 11) after we noticed a puncture wound on our dog's side. I called at 9 AM and the appointment was for 11:30. When we took our dog in we were met by Dr. Bear who immediately examined our pup. He was very courteous and professional. He cleaned out the wound and prescribed anti-biotics for her, she needed a vaccine booster. My wife and I were impressed with Dr. Bear's attentiveness and gentleness with our pup. We have two other dogs and we are going to bring them in for examinations and update their vaccinations.I can with all sincerity recommend East County Large & Small Animal Practice to all pet owners.Bruce Edwards

Always there, the very best of care, for all my 4 legged friends and me, too! From the late 1970's to this morning, Greg Smith and the wonderful folks who serve at ECLAP, have provided care and comfort for my family. In recent years, the addition of a full spectrum small animal practice has been a welcome and beneficial boost for my animal pals. And the very same compassionate care continues. When my horse developed a rare form of cancer, he worked tirelessly to find a treatment for him. Thanks to Dr. Smith, my beautiful boy got to enjoy many months of retirement. We started using ECLAP about 30 years ago and have gotten outstanding service and care from all the Vets that work there. They are all extremely knowledgeable and if they don't know something, they aren't afraid to ask their associate for an opinion or suggestion. Dr. Smith is especially good with older horses and shows compassion for both them and their owners. It has also been great having a small animal office available. Kind of like "one stop shopping." Love their yearly Christmas party!!! Great way to show they appreciate loyalty.

Superlatives! I couldn't make up my mind whether to have a ranch call or an office visit, and the office staff was extremely patient with me. We no lo have large animals, but I didn't want to haul three cats and a dog into the local vet's office, even though it is just down the street. I would have to pay for four office visits, and to take the dog and the cats together to the ECLAP small animal office was not really not possible---so we paid for an old fashioned ranch call and Dr. Smith accommodated us like he always does. Dr. Smith is a caring, down to earth guy and always takes the practical approach. We have been with ECLAP for about 25 years and we have never had any bad issues with them. Highly supportive as well as understanding and ranch practical.

As far as I am concerned there is no better vets or practice than ECLAP around. I have been using them since my horse was 3 and he passed away at 32. They now take care of my cats and I could not be happier. Not only are these vets and everyone else working here good, nice, friendly, and really care about what they do, they are priced fairly. They care and love what they do. Helping our loved ones to stay healthy and help the sick.
I love all these people and thank God that they are here. Please give them a try if you are looking for a vet who really cares.
