I am about to relocate to Scotland with 2 dogs and a cat. Dr. Burghardt was exceptional and went above and beyond to assist me with everything. I am a retired veterinarian from Glasgow Vet School (which I didn't tell him) and I highly recommend him to care for your animal friends.

Their employee customer service needs some change. My family booked an appointment here for our little Yorkie. About a week before our scheduled appointment he consumed a bar of dark chocolate as big as him! In my past experience, vet offices are not open without a vet being there... and typically if there is an emergency or if someone is out to lunch the vet or vet tech will at least check to see if your dog/animal is ok. However, when we arrived at the office with our emergency the front desk girls said everyone was all out to lunch and no one could see him and turned us away. When I called to cancel my appointment a woman answered the phone and when I explained that I was cancelling my appointment due to concern about being turned away in this situation all she had to say was “I’m sorry you feel that way” very flatly and then hung up the phone. First of all that’s rude, and not good business for having people refer others to your clinic.
After all of this Dr. Burghardt gave me a call to follow up. He is very kind and was very apologetic about the situation.

We drive from Escondido to have Dr.Ted care for our dogs. Before he bought this building we went to Mission Animal and bird when he was there. Dogs responded to him and we liked his compassion and keeping us informed. We much prefer this new clinic and his office people.

We have been bringing Patrick our dog here for the last 6 years and have always got excellent care from Dr Soifer and now Dr. Burghardt and his team. Patrick went in for an FHO surgery just before Christmas 2017 and Dr. Burghardt and team took amazing care of Patrick during the procedure as well as during the follow up physical therapy and laser therapy. It’s been less than two months and, thanks to the work we all put in, Patrick is now walking better than ever and is able to go on long walks going distances that that we have not tried in over a year. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Burghardt and his team are amazing! Companion Pet Care took care of my last two dogs. They were especially amazing when we had to suddenly say goodbye to our last dog. When we decided to get our new puppy I called them up again to learn that Dr. Burghardt had taken over the practice. They have been so great with our new puppy and make us feel like family! I am very happy that the practice is in such caring hands!

Charming red cottage a little north of Encinitas Blvd, and past Keno's on the west side of the coast highway. Professional and polite staff, friendly and knowledgeable veterinary doctor. Dr. Burghardt is always smiling and spends extra time getting to know you and your pet. I have been to several different veterinary clinics in my many pets' past 16 years in Encinitas. He is by far, the best.

We have brought three generations of cats -- and more recently a dog -- to CPC since the early 1980s, when Bruce Cauble operated it as Encinitas Veterinary Clinic. Gerry Soifer ably took over and continued to provide caring and competent service for 30 years. We recently took our 18-year-old Siamese mix and 11-year-old cattle dog mix to Ted Burghardt, and we are pleased to report that the practice is still in great hands. Most of the same support staff remains in place, providing a smooth transition.I always worry when any small business changes hands, but my advice to longtime customers and prospective new clients is to give Dr. Burghardt a chance -- so far, we are VERY favorably impressed.

Both of the former vets here retired without telling anyone, though it was obviously in the works for some time. I didn't appreciate that. Sheesh, communication please. I LOVED Dr. Bushnell. Goodbye, Dr. Bushnell, & happy retirement! As for Dr. Burqhardt (sp?), I've only had my dog in once since the change. He's very nice, was gentle with our dog, and seems to be a fine vet. He was easy-going and answered my every question. The staff are mostly the same crew and they're just great. So overall, this practice still seems a great place to take your 4-legged family members. The new doc is on Yelp as: Companion Pet Care.

Companion Petcare Professionals are the best Veterinary team of nurses and doctors I've met. They are kind, compassionate and very gently with their clients. I have an elderly dog and he has never been in better hands. Whenever he walks into their office, he is calm and excited for his check-up and treatment. And after his visit he is full of energy and all smiles. I couldn't ask for a better care for my beloved companion. Absolutely the best Veterinarians in all of San Diego.

I can't say enough about Dr. Soifer, he has compassion for all his patients and will go out of his way to help without taking advantage of pet owners that want to do whatever they can for their family...
I can't say enough about Dr. Soifer, he has compassion for all his patients and will go out of his way to help without taking advantage of pet owners that want to do whatever they can for their family member (s) and charging high fees for health services.
It meant the world to me that he had given a gift to the San Diego Humane Society in memory of my little boy Corky after he lost his battle to kidney failure.

Their employee customer service needs some change. My family booked an appointment here for our little Yorkie. About a week before our scheduled appointment he consumed a bar of dark chocolate as big as him! We have brought three generations of cats -- and more recently a dog -- to CPC since the early 1980s, when Bruce Cauble operated it as Encinitas Veterinary Clinic. Gerry Soifer ably took over and continued to provide caring and competent service for 30 years. We recently took our 18-year-old Siamese mix and 11-year-old cattle dog mix to Ted Burghardt, and we are pleased to report that the practice is still in great hands. Companion Petcare Professionals are the best Veterinary team of nurses and doctors I've met. They are kind, compassionate and very gently with their clients. I have an elderly dog and he has never been in better hands. Whenever he walks into their office, he is calm and excited for his check-up and treatment. And after his visit he is full of energy and all smiles. I couldn't ask for a better care for my beloved companion. Absolutely the best Veterinarians in all of San Diego.

I can't say enough about Dr. Soifer, he has compassion for all his patients and will go out of his way to help without taking advantage of pet owners that want to do whatever they can for their family member (s) and charging high fees for health services.
