Had to take my girl in to get her rabies shot. 1st time being here. Place was very clean staff was nice and helpful. I called Friday morning to make an appointment and was able to get in the very next morning. Place is great and I fell like Sophia is in good hands. Only place I'll take my dog from now on. they are extremely expensive they did alot of unecessary tests and work that escalated to over four thousand dollars , never saw the doctor once , the assistants seem to run the show , i will never go back tbere again , for example the fluids we bought were literally twice as expensive as other veterinary clinics they knew very well that kazoo would die soon anyway . after trying three veterinary clinics in the past years , sharps pet hospital is honest and best of of all them put together also great staff that truly cares. Today, i dropped off my 1 year old boxer for neutering surgery, he had undescended testicles. As i came in i was very nervous at first, you just never know, complications might happen. We bring him to this place since he was 8 weeks old. The doctor and all of the staff members are very friendly and understanding. Jose, the practice manager, is the guy i always talk to. Very knowledgeable with a big heart. We had a small talk prior to the surgery, right after the procedure he called with an update on my boy. I had nothing to worry about! PLEASE do not bring your pet here! I brought my cat in because he suddenly went blind and was displaying dementia like symptoms. Dr. Isaacs looked at him and watched him walk around the room and ordered a bunch of tests. He did NOT take his blood pressure. He said my cat was too fractious and it would have resulted in a false positive. My cat is always highly stressed and fractious at the vet, so with that logic, when IS a good time to take it? He sent gizmo home with main meds and said there is more tests we could do if symptoms don't improve. He kept getting worse so I called down there and they said to bring him in . I brought him in and Dr. Isaacs didn't even see me! He apparently saw my cat and the technician came out and said to me, verbatim "I'm sorry but there's nothing more we can do for you." And referred my cat to a neurologist. I went to the neurologist who looked at my cat, looked behind his eyes and we went over his symptoms and the doctor said it sounds like high blood pressure. Sure enough, it was 270!! With that high of a reading he could have had a stroke and died. He is now on blood pressure meds and doing better. Dr. Isaacs pure negligence and incompetence could have killed my cat!!! If he cannot solve a basic problem like high blood pressure, then how can you trust him to solve anything else? PLEASE, take your beloved pet elsewhere!!!!Read Less

This clinic is unreasonably expensive. Took my puppy for coughing yet they managed to make us pay for faecal test for a non-related issue without addressing the main issue. I had to take my puppy to another to get a diagnosis for kennel cough. Read Less

I've been taking my dogs to Encino Vet for 15 years and wouldn't take them anywhere else. Dr. Isaacs & Dr. Mackinnon are amazing and have helped us through many illnesses with our pups. Encino Vet is a great place to take your pet. I have been going here with my cat for 10 plus years and have always had excellent service and treatment. The staff is professional, courteous and friendly. The doctors always take time to listen to my concerns - and are willing to deal with my "will bite" cat. The best part about Encino Vet is their groomer, Dawn. She is amazing. My cat is not the friendliest animal yet she always behaves for Dawn, which is a miracle. I trust them implicitly. Read Less

My pet is one of those labeled with the dreaded ""will bite"" sticker, yet everyone treats my cat in a friendly, relaxed manner. I share the sentiments that others have written about Dr. James Isaacs and do miss Dr. Mary Isaacs, however I am really pleased with Dr. McKinnon and feel that she saved my 15 year old kitty Sneeky's life. I went to encino with my dog to get a routine nail trim, They have this lovely tech their that always files my dog's nails so they are not sharp like with the nail clippers. When she came out she told me that she wont see me any more. that. this day was the last time she will see my pup and i ask her why.. she said she was let go, Some issue with the dr. Well I think this girl is great not only is she polite to clients but she cares about the well being of your pet. They made a mistake letting her go and for that i don't know what to think. Every one else doesn't seem like they care.. Seems like their only their for a pay check. And to find out by the receptionist that a tech that worked their years ago will be the new manager. This place is going to be a circus act and i want no part in it.!! Read Less

This place is always dirty, you would think the Receptionist would at least be helpful. The one who's always given me a heart time is the only one with brown hair. ( from all the blond ones) but they do have 4 really nice techs when I took my chihuahua in for nail trim. The nice tech brought my dog back. She told me that she field the nails so they don't have a Sharp edge. so when I have him in my arms he won't scratch me. It's the small thing that count . I don't remember her name but it seems she's the only woman tech they have. they Also have 3 other male techs that rock. They are very helpful and kind those three bring me back to this dump, because I know my dog will be okay in their hands. Now the two doctors they have are money hungry they try to nickel and dime you for everything. the woman doctor doesn't seem confident in what she's talking about. She's always trying to sell me holistic medication. And for the tall, skinny doctor seems like he's had too much plastic surgery. He's the one that what's to empty out your pockets. He feeds you a lot of info about anything that comes to mind, and then he tries to make money on everything. If you don't want to do what he says he makes you feel bad about your self. It seems as if he never reads the patients charts, just walks in and says oh you need 1,2,3,4 and when you tell i just did all that last month he blames it on his techs. MAN UP In conclusion I stopped taking my dog their, I loved those techs but the doctor are crazy. Take your dog to a different clinic. Read Less

If there is a problem he has diagnosed issues where others have failed. He uses current medicine and treatment and has a staff that is also qualified and educated.
