I am cautious about new places but I honestly am thankful I went with my instincts on this one! From the appointment set up phone call to the prescription consultation everybody I spoke to was friendly,helpful and clear with me. Brought our English Bulldog for a respiratory assessment and they were amazing. Personable reception staff and easily made an appointment same day. Dr Kitt was amazing and did a very thorough exam. She gave us many options, but was conservative in her approach and final recommendation. Lilly the vet tech was super friendly and walked us through every step of each option. We recently moved here from Colorado and were looking for a new vet. We tried another vet first and had a really bad experience so decided to give Mohnacky a try. This morning I took my dog in for a vaccination and to check a painful leg. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and didn’t have to wait at all. The women at the front desk were all incredibly nice to my dog, as well as to me. The doctor was wonderful, getting down on the floor to make my dog comfortable and they were able to get X-rays without anesthetizing my 142 lb. dog. I've been bring my 3 year old dachshund named Darcy here since I got her when she was 12 weeks old. Dr. Kitt is the best! Even if my nervous dog is not happy to see her, Dr. Kitt is always happy and loving towards Darcy. Dr. Kitt takes her time and explains everything to me so I'm confident in my understanding. I never feel she's pushing a sale on me when she makes suggestions. Even after not seeing my dog for many months she remembers to check up on everything we've talked about at our last visit. This is the best place to take your loved ones. I boarded my Kricket (8 mo) for the first time ever. 5 days and when I picked her up she was the happiest dog ever. The doctors and the staff here are great. Fortunately we have only had to go for regular checkups and shots, so I the review is only for those services. We did get a quote to get our dog neutered and there were a couple hundred more than another place so we didn't get that done there. Overall the place has been great for regular checkups and shots. We won't be bringing our pets back here for several reasons, but number one is "nurse" J*! Her unacceptable bad attitude and level of zero professionalism sealed the deal! How completely rude she was too my spouse and I after asking a simple question was ridiculous and completely blind sided us. Even before her attitude she stated she would come out and explain test results and medication if needed, but of course, she couldn't be professional for a second and do that. So then the hospital attempted to charge us for medication we knew nothing about, on top of everything else . I brought my Dotty girl in today (03/01/16) after she stopped eating and didn't seem her happy puppy self. The team at Mohnacky Animal Hospital did an amazing job diagnosing what was making her sick. She had two objects in her tummy and intestine. Dr. Behm performed surgery and did an amazing job. Dotty is home recovering tonight thanks to Dr. Behm and the incredible staff at Mohnacky. I brought my cat in for uti. They said she needed emergency surgery or she would die from bladder stones & wanted $4000 to do it. Obviously I couldn't afford it. Talked to a friend who sent me to another vet. No surgery! Just a prescription diet & an antibiotic shot. Had a similar situation with my dog where they wanted $5000 to do surgery on her. After the cat incident, 2nd vet did surgery for $1500. Dr Martin at ABC in San Marcos is great! Read Less

I was looking for a new place to take my cat for her checkups and what really caught my eye about Mohnacky was that they had a feline friendly practice. They had a separate entrance and examination area just for cats, which I think is amazing. Dr. Behm and all the Vet Techs are meticulous and you can tell they all really care about the wellfare of their furry patients. They are knowledgeable open, friendly and very easy to work with. I would recommend the entire staff here except for Dr. Anderson. It's really too bad he works there still after what he did to us. The rest of the staff is fabulous though. I would recommend the lady Dr. She took really good care of our little Penelope and the rest of the staff was so understanding as we almost lost her. I had never been here before and I brought my older cat in because she had stopped eating and drinking. They didn't hesitate to get me in, even though I knew they didn't have any official appointment times available. Every single person that helped us was genuinely trying to make Rose feel better. They put together a great plan of care that was relatively inexpensive and immediately helped Rose. I really wanted to give this place a chance, I saw they had high google reviews, but it was not the best experience for me. The receptionist was very sweet, gave me all of the paperwork to fill out and we were actually seated in the "kitty room" right at 8:15AM, which was my appointment time, so I was pretty happy. My kitten was weighed and we had some questions answered about the kitten care packages, then we had to wait for the doctor to come in. My fiancé and I waited an ENTIRE HOUR before we decided, we have stuff that needs to get done today, like homework and grocery shopping and other errands to run. We come to the decision I would take our kitten to her first wellness exam at a different clinic next week. Not only did we hear the receptionist who checked us in forget we were in the kitty room, but she didn't check up to see if we had been helped by the veterinarian yet. We were walking out and trying to just be nice when the receptionist asked how everything went. We just let her know we actually hadn't been seen by the vet and we have other obligations today, but we waited an hour and we think that is reasonable and now we need to be on our way. The receptionist had to clarify we had not been seen and a customer she had been helping interjected "WE" should have come out of the room to check why it was taking so long. The thing is, we checked in, it is the receptionist's job to know we are in that room and to accommodate us. We were VERY patient and we were even nice after we realized it was a lost cause. We didn't whine and complain, we just let her know we are checking out because it has been an hour and we just have other stuff to do today. Overall, I had really high hopes based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, I am going to be scheduling at a different clinic because now I know, you pay for what you get. The prices at Mohnacky are what drew me in and they were really nice on the phone, but WOW. One entire hour wait and the most they did was tell me my cat weighed 3 pounds. Read Less

The staff here has been so supportive of my efforts to keep my elderly dogs comfortable. They are attentive to my desires not to delay the inevitable, but would be equally as supportive if I chose to try and keep them alive at all costs. The vets I have encountered so far are thorough and knowledgeable. They speak to me frankly but with compassion.
