Horrible experience! They don’t care about your pets anymore just themselves. We had been going there for over 10 years with our pets and since they changed to VCA corporate they have gradually changed for the worse. Now with the pandemic their policies make no sense. They don’t let you come in with your pet or give the option to see you with your pet outside for special circumstances ( but yet we are all able to go see our own practitioners face to face). My dog is a very nervous dog around the vet and does better with me or my family . She’s injured currently and that would make things worse for her. I requested to see the vet outside but got a “no” and to make matters worse they couldn’t see her till next Tuesday even with an injury. The answer I got was “sorry” that’s all we have and that we could go to another vet emergency since they aren’t currently doing any urgent or emergent work. How ridiculous, they are suppose to be a hospital as well as a vet. It’s in their name. It’s like saying sorry we are closing the hospital because we are scared of getting COVID19 you are on your own. That’s how I feel they are treating us and our pets. Now I need to find another vet in the midst of all this mess and my dog suffers in the end. Read Less

I have my dog at another vet now getting fixed from this vet's negligence. And my dog is going to lose an ear because of it, and hopefully that'll be the worst of it for her. This vet X-Rayed her back legs but her front one is broken. He stitched cartilage when cartilage doesn't heal once it's broken anyway. Don't know about the doctors or the surgeons, but the administration staff is inept and non-communicative with one another. Brought our cat in for a UTI. Relatively common with older cats. Had to bring our cat to them two times because they couldnt get a urine sample to target the correct antibiotic. Gave her a super antibiotic that didn't do the trick. Second time got the sample and got the correct antibiotic. $1500 later. Ridiculous. Seems to work, but three days after the last of the antibiotic, cat is again peeing blood. Called and talked to the doctor to refill prescription. Said it would be ready that afternoon. I went to pick it up... Not ready. Doctor didn't communicate or staff didn't communicate with their pharmacy.
Receptionist told me 5 minutes. After 20 minutes they tell me they don't have that medication in stock and I can get it at Costco. So go all the way there, waste my time, then all the way to deal with the zoo that is Costco.
The only reason our cat will visit this place again is to finish this treatment of her UTI so we don't have to spend ungodly amounts of money somewhere else for a common infection in cats. After that, this place is off the list for any of our pets. Read Less

I called Acacia Animal Hospital to get an estimate for spaying my 5 month old female kitty, I read some reviews that stated that this place is good and reasonable. The woman that answered the phone (can't remember her name) said she'd have to call me back shortly which she did.
Here is the exact estimate she quoted to me:
$67.00 exam
$4.50 medical waste fee
$73.00 lab
$47.50 catheter
$31.50 IV fluid
$37.00 injection of syrenea (I probably spelled it wrong)
$67.50 laser equipment usage charge
$18.50 bear hugger heating pad usage charge
$159.50 spay surgery
$23.70 e - collar
=$529.70 base price, that's with no complications requiring additional charges
She also said if I wanted to get my cat micro chipped it would be an additional
(optional) $54.00 for an injection for pain medication
(not the micro chip itself, but for the pain that would be inflicted on her during insertion of the chip....even though she would already be under anesthesia, which is why the woman said it would be a good time to do it in the first place)
I didn't get the price of the actual micro chip
She went on to say that of course the bear hugger heating pad and the IV fluids and pain shots were optional (It's the owners choice, if they care about their snuggly furry "family member" enough to make sure they are comfortable and warm or just want to be cheap and make the furry little companion suffer and shiver), up to me.
So I decided they must be much more interested in money than the care of my little furry family member and called another vet who, for $101.00 will spay my kitty INCLUDING pain meds during and after surgery and antibiotics AND give her a shot of the vaccinations she needs.
The one star rating is not because their work is bad, I have no idea because I never got that far, I just think her price quote was rediculous. Read Less
