One of my dogs had a freak accident at home - basically, a wooden fragment from a broken bar stool led to an eye injury. I rushed Lou over for treatment with Dr. Z and his trusted Assistant, Connie. The entire team were incredibly welcoming, reassuring and gentle. Lou had to be sedated while Dr. Z removed tiny wooden fragments from his eye. I was inconsolable but Connie was very compassionate and loving. They took great care of Lou, provided home care and we were discharged. I brought my puppy in bc he had broken his leg and the previous vet I had seen was charging way too much. We went in and Connie and Lupita were absolutely amazing. The absolute worst animal hospital I have ever been to. I took my six week old Boxer in to see what was going on he was so skinny, wasn’t eating so I thought it was parvo.. I took him in for the test, the vet and his assistant CONNIE were extremely rude! I let them run the test and it came back negative I still payed for the office visit, all of his medications and whatever else fee they had charged me. Connie called me the next day to tell me that the test they took the day before turned positive (which wasn’t likely) and that I had to go for ANOTHER MEDICATION. At this point I realized all they wanted was the money. I went to a different vet to get his shots and they asked the other vet for the past medical records, they refused to send them and started to ignore calls. We took our doggie Woody here for a Bulging Eye it literally was out of his socket . I quickly took him to another Vet Hospital and they were recommending me to surgically remove his eyeball, that was the only option they gave me. I of course at that point I was scared, devastated. They gave me a price quote and I couldn't believe the amount they were charging us. It's frustrating as a pet owner when you just want your pet to get better, and you feel helpless, and on top of that the Vet giving us a high priced surgery as our only option. So my sister calls me and tells me to go to another Vet Hospital. Which is this location Fontana Animal Hospital.  Dr Zafer D.V.M . was very pleasant, reassuring and knowledgeable he explained the procedure Woody would be requiring. The Vet Technicians Connie and Lupita were very kind and compassionate, so nice to Woody (despite his aggressiveness) lol . The price was reasonable for the procedure Woody had to undergo. He got his eye surgically placed back in same day and was sent home later that afternoon with medication. He was seen every day after that for eye cleanings. Connie was very sweet to our Woody , she would help the Dr with the cleanings and she made us feel at ease reassuring us he will be OK. She explained the medication in detail which made us feel so much better on how to take care of his eye. Woody is a tough little dog, he's doing so much better!!! The doctor and staff are great. Took my lab/chow chow there after he had gotten into a horrible fight. He had a hole in his face and now that hole is closed in just 2 weeks. We love this veterinarian hospital! In February our dog Oso caught parvovirus. We payed for his treatment and the price was decently fair for what they had done for him. they were so nice to our pup and us. This animal hospital has been so wonderful! A few weeks ago our doggie Ruby was attacked by something in our backyard and we took her in and definitely were made to feel at ease. Came in this Saturday with my 9 yr daughter/PUG :). She was attacked at a friends house by either a dog, or cat and her eye was torn out of her eye socket. :( IT WAS AWFUL ! My poor angel pug whom we love was in so much pain and traumatized. Came in to FONTANA ANIMAL HOSPITAL and immediately she was seen and treated- best pet care ever- the front desk staff was professional and attentive- the vet tech was amazing and shared in our pain! She was super caring and truly concerned about princess (our sweet pug). My poor princess lost her eye but was treated by what we consider to be the best vet in Fontana; Mr. Zafer. My wife and I dog become very ill we discovered that she had a very bad infection and her uterus had to be removed. This crazy so cold DR should never touch an animal. HE KILLED MY PET GINGER THREE YEARS AGO. He put her on IV and told me she would be fine. Called me Sunday morning to hurry in to his hospital. I am new to the area and needed somewhere to take my 3 dogs for their vaccinations and set up a place of care for them.  I saw this clinic near another business I frequent and spoke with the woman; I believe Veronica is her name.  She was super pleasant and gave me lots of helpful information. I took my dogs there the next week for their vaccinations and it was a fantastic experience from friendliness, confidence with my sweet girls, very reasonably priced, customer service, and care.  I am making this place our new home for my sweet 3 little girls. The one area I was bummed about is the price for their nail trimmings for my medium size dog, $25.00 and that is A LOT more expensive than where I was going in the other county I lived in, and that previous county is expensive. This place is more than double the cost.  The cost for my little dogs was also more by $3.00 per dog. But, I still keep my 5 star rating because of everything else I experienced that is very important to me. Read Less

This animal hospital is so unprofessional. Friday's they take a 3 hour lunch, they supposedly open at 3:30. Well, turns out the doctor decided not to get there until 4:30. I do not recommend this place to anyone I left my puppy there for a minor surgery in his left leg . They said he was going to be ready for pick up the next day at 12 to my surprise I get there and everything is completly close no one is at the animal hospital I can't get ahold of anyone to see how my dog is doing . I can hear my puppy crying I don't know if someone left enough water and food for him and there's no one inside taking care of my dog I can't believe they would do something so horrible my dog can be in pain hungry and what makes it worst is that they're ac wasn't working that means my dog can basically die in there with no one to care for him I'm so angry and disappointed why would someone leave my dog like this!!! Went in today with my ten year old Pom Pom for the first time and we were right away welcomed and treated very well. Once we got there we were helped right away, and the vet assistant was very kind to my pom when checking his weight, and it didn't take long for the vet doc to come in after. The doc gave my Pom the vaccines he needed quickly (only $58). ZERO DAM STARS!! I recently moved out here for school purpose. I know what pet has since he suffers from his condition for the last three years. My pet has had blood work and other procedures done and have always had the same diagnosis! Yet this vet still want to do the full check up. My dog is my kid since I don't have kids. Because I wanted him to just get better I said fine. Although my old vet called and fax over my dogs medical record so I wouldn't have to spend more money. He told my partner and I that he wasn't going to be able to do anything unless he ran his own test. So $260 later, we got the same diagnoses and the same medication my dogs gets. I come back for a fallow up appointment, and he stars talking to me in a degrading tone!! He say I told you guys to get your dog groom by US! And after that I had it, and told him we did! That the lady he refer came to my home, and he then says oh! Well that's why! She should have done it here at my hospital! After that I left, and during this whole time the nurse/receptionist was mouthing sorry! You don't ask for  un-necessary test, rob them of their money! And then have them come back for a shot when it could have been done on that one day, and charge them again for the visit! The place its' self is nice but the veterinarian is a big ass!!! Read Less

I've been taking all my pets here since we moved to the area.  The entire staff is friendly and informative.  If we're leaving for the weekend, I will leave my dogs here for boarding, and have never had a problem and it's reasonably priced as well.  The kennels where the dogs are kept are always clean, and my dogs don't seem to mind being there. I recently took our cat in to have a tumor removed, and the entire staff was reassuring throughout the whole process.  One of the nurses called after the surgery was completed to let me know that everything went well.  Overall, I have not had a bad experience with Fontana Animal Hospital and will continue taking my pets here for boarding/vaccinations. WORST EVER, TOTAL SCAM.... My dog was very ill with 105.7 degree temperature this morning. I wanted to get her IV for fluids and meds, as she was throwing up the meds I got earlier at the hospital I had taken her to that morning. Well I call their office tell them exactly what I need... they tell me they can treat her, but that the doctor would have to do a exam first... I said that was fine, even though she had a full exam that morning by the other hospital, several x-rays and a full panel of blood work. Then they ask if I can get there before 7:00pm as they closed, I said I could. I rush there to get there at 6:30pm, we aren't even seen until 7:30pm. The vet doesn't even spend 3 minutes with her, doesn't really do a full exam, tells me he can't treat her that she needs to go to a animal hospital... I am like HELLO isn't THIS an animal hospital... that is what your sign says. Then he leaves, and I am told I owe for the exam... the one thing I didn't need or want, and I don't feel was even really done. I feel scammed to get a another fee in just before closing. NEVER NEVER go to the place, the vet sucks and did't really seem interested or concerned about my pet, just getting me there before closing and collecting a fee!!! I called a vet to come to my home (Dr. David Lebovic 909-989-3253) he did a REAL exam, gave her antibiotic injection, so she can't throw it up, and IV meds :) My dog is at home, happy and safe. (and not exposed to more illness) He was reasonably priced and more importantly cared about my dog and her health. Read Less

I have always gone to my family vet since we had my childhood dog, but after moving out towards upland I figured a new vet wouldn't hurt. After meeting Dr. Zafer through my husband, we started taking our dog Callie to his office, and we couldn't be happier! Callie had an ear infection that the doctor took great care of. Other vets wanted to take an x-ray and run a couple tests that was around $600. Dr. Zafer didn't make me feel like he was there to take my money. Pretty cheap visits, I paid $35 to get my dog checked when I've paid $60+ at other places. My dog has been throwing up from eating a real bone I bought him at Petco and the vet scolded me for it, if they sell those things at Petco I assume they're ok for my dog to eat but I guess I should've done my research. This vet will tell you surgeries are needed that are not, will schedule blood draws and procedures late , so that they can request an over night stay can be charged. He yelled at his assistant in the hall for trying to point out the pets medical history. You bet  I got a second opinion on his diagnosis which was very very different from the vet that performed the animals adoption release to me as well as the vet that I saw  for the second opinion. I took my pup in for his very first trip to the vet. The office was informative when I called asking for information regarding coming in. They accepted my walk-in and I was in and out in 30 minutes. Connie was very good with my puppy and made him feel comfortable and welcome. The prices are comparable to many other local clinics and they did not pressure me into getting anything I didn't want or need for my pup. Very happy with my experience and will be back soon. My family recently adopted two dogs and we took them to the Fontana animal hospital to get wellness exams. One of our dogs had a pass to get a free check up, but since we adopted one in a different County, we expected to pay out of pocket for her exam. When the vet saw us,  he was so sweet and answered all of our questions for both dogs . The vet assistants were amazing too and truly cared about our dogs. When we went to pay for the other exam,  they told us not to worry & thanked us for giving both dogs a home. They all went above & beyond in helping us that day. We'll be going back there from now on & i would really recommend them to anyone else. From what I saw, all of their prices were really reasonable too.  Hope that helps :) Read Less

Very expensive, was expecting to pay 19.00 for shots, sent my son they charged him 44.00 for shots.,didn't let him know prior to charging him.. Would never go to them again.. My review is later after the actual visit. With that said, I took my GSD to this clinic for a physical exam when she was a pup. The lobby appeared very nice. The receptionist seemed as if she didn't have much experience with pets.Then I was taken to the exam room. Immediately as I began to wait in there with my pup, I became very worried for her. The exam room had a strong foul smell of urine. I understand that at times maybe a pet might not be able to hold their urine. When that happens I would assume that the office staff would clean it up. Except with such a strong odor of urine in that room, I could only assume that it was not disinfected in any way. Meaning that my pup was currently being exposed to any and all illnesses of any ill pet that had stepped their paws in that room. I just wanted the visit to be done and over with....Then the assistant came in along with the veterinarian. (I couldn't understand much of what he said due to his heavy accent).... He examined my pup's teeth, asked the assistant to administer the medication. Asked me how frequent I feed her, and out the door he went. He didn't bother checking her body, (joints, spine, tail, ears, etc). So we finish, I head out to the lobby to pay and schedule an appointment. Not only did I have to ask the receptionist if she wanted to keep or make a copy of my pup's vaccine record, but I also had to ask her if she was ever going to take my dog's weight. (Keep in mind that the exam had been completed prior to me reminding about the weight).... So she responds with "oh.. Yeah.. Put it on that".... It??? That would be my dog. That??? Would be a scale. She didn't bother assisting whatsoever or even getting off her seat. I paid a little over a $100. I never returned again. Read Less

The staff at the Fontana Animal Hospital was very nice. When it came to dealing with the vet he was extremely rude. I took my dog there and the vet walked in, seemed like he didn't want to touch him, and the vet kept barking orders at me "HOLD HIM", "PUT HIM UP HERE" when I didn't even know what he was doing.
