General Info
APH was established in the mid 1970's as a low cost spay and neuter hospital by Dr. Francis Testoni. The location on Abby St. ideally suited expanding Fresno. His early mission was to provide lower prices for common veterinary procedures in a professional environment. The practice expanded its surgical services with the addition of Richard Holm in 1989. Dr. Holm became sole owner of Abby Pet Hospital in 2004.

My mom had me bring in her dog for a surgery. I dropped her off on a Friday morning and then came to pick her up later that afternoon. We paid big money for that surgery and Dr. Williamson wouldn't even come out and talk to me when I picked up the dog. I asked the technician if I could speak to the doctor and she told me no. She said the best she could do would be to leave a message and have the doctor call me. I was also told that I was not guaranteed a phone call, all she could do was leave a message for the doctor to call, but she may not call. I asked her if the doctor were still in the hospital and she said she was. Ok, so I pay big money for the surgery, the doctor is still in the clinic, she won't talk to me, and if she feels like it she might give me a call back? Are you kidding me? I asked when they need to see the dog back and they told me to bring the dog by for a technician visit in 10 days. I never met Dr. Williamson, but my mom did since she initially was waited on by her. I did, however, help my mom pay for most of the surgery, and considering it was around $2,000 I felt like the least Dr. Williamson could have done was to talk to me a few minutes about what was done or at least give me a phone call. I never did get a call back (not sure if the technician even gave Dr. Williamson the message). The incision site looks lumpy and it's a little red. I am contemplating just going elsewhere since I have no way to reach the doctor unless I schedule an exam, and after paying around $2,000 and getting poor service, I don't exactly want to give this place anymore of my money. I will probably just go somewhere else for the follow up care because the doctor won't talk to us and I feel like I am oblivious to what's going on. For the price of the surgery I also don't feel Dr. Williamson did a very good job since its lumpy and red. Overpriced and there is basically no service. The doctors hide behind the staff in the sense that you can never reach the doctor and they keep putting the staff up there to tell you the doctor is busy. I don't plan on coming back here again.

Dr. Williamson's exams are awful. Do not go to her. There are other vets who work at Abby Pet so if you go there make sure you request another doctor, especially if you are a walk in. If you are a walk in they will throw Dr. Williamson at you and she is the worst Vet I have been to. Make sure you specify that you do not want Dr. Williamson waiting on you. She is the worst Vet I have been to. She does not care and does not want to be bothered. She stormed out of the room only after two minutes and I waited hours for that exam. I will not be coming back here again.

I have only taken my dog in for annual exams and booster shots so far. The first one after we adopted him and then his annual check up. The whole staff has always been friendly and professional and Dr Collins remembered our pet from the previous year. Our dog was comfortable and happy throughout the entire visit and wanted to follow the staff everytime they left the room :-). Will continue to go there ( hopefully only for his checkups - knock on wood)

Very disappointed in this hospital last night they Took my money for anabiotic's for a cough that wasn't even necessary. when I had a friend come over that was a vet tech look at my dog and know exactly what was wrong with my baby without any test, and right away he knew my dog was in congestive heart failure...only three hours after I left Abby pet hospital,when they made it seem like my dog was gonna be OK did he pass away... I can't stop but think I would've had a veterinarian that was more knowledgeable or caring that my dog still might be here.. The veterinarian that I seen yesterday evening did not seem to know what was going on... heartbroken

Very nice staff and doctors. Very clean facility. They are on top of everything to try their best to get to a solution. A bit pricey, but which vet is not.. the office visits are pretty average and the tests or labs are not always set by the actual vet so it's understandable. I would rather pay a little more here and get treated good and be in a nice and comfortable environment. I was a walk in and it did not take long at all. I have waited hours at other vets, almost a whole day. So I am thankful that they have multiple doctors on site at once.

We took our dog for a second opinion here to Abby after 4 days of suffering & after no answers/relief from Family Pet in Clovis and a few hundred dollars later. Abby Pet saved our dog he was feeling better a few hours later and we are so thankful for that today on Thanksgiving especially . We highly recommend this Vet . Thank you to the wonderful Dr who treated our Harley They are so very caring and thorough.

Here is a place I take my puppy. I found Abby Pet Hospital through my Care Credit as they offer payment options. After 5 you get the after work crowd but even as so, staff is friendly and eager to help all of its patients. My puppy sees Dr. Miskell who is kind and gentle. When I bring my puppy I know she's happy with the place and staff due to the excitement that she exudes when the staff and nurses walk through the door and if my puppy loves the place, so do i. It's clean and smells great all of the time. For a vet clinic, this place is great, They also have a mini pet ship built in the front with food, treats, toys, clothes and more which is so convenient. This place is a definite check out if you're looking for a location to take your animals.
Also a quick note, they take exotics.

I thought they were professional and the doctor was great but I felt it was over priced. They charged me almost $400 for an ear infection. I was charged somewhere else $600 for my dog to get surgery after an attack and that included medication and follow up appts. I don't know how much abby would have charged but considering the fee for an ear infection it probably would have been way more.

Abby has always (at least 10 years) taken great care of my cat and dogs. Great staff, great care...follow up phone calls...snail mail notices when shots are about due etc. I highly recommend them.

I am really surprised by the negative reviews. I have been bringing my pets here for years and have never had a negative experience. Whether I'm calling in for some advise or there for an appointment I'm always greeted with a friendly voice or smile, the vets and staff here are amazing. The love a care they have for animals shows. The prices here are great too!

Love Dr. Holm. He always takes the time needed to figure out what is wrong with our pets. He never makes me feel like I am being rushed. I would highly recommend this vet.

I have only taken my dog in for annual exams and booster shots so far. The first one after we adopted him and then his annual check up. The whole staff has always been friendly and professional and Dr Collins remembered our pet from the previous year. Our dog was comfortable and happy throughout the entire visit and wanted to follow the staff everytime they left the room :-). Will continue to go there ( hopefully only for his checkups - knock on wood)

Very disappointed in this hospital last night they Took my money for anabiotic's for a cough that wasn't even necessary. when I had a friend come over that was a vet tech look at my dog and know exactly what was wrong with my baby without any test, and right away he knew my dog was in congestive heart failure...only three hours after I left Abby pet hospital,when they made it seem like my dog was gonna be OK did he pass away... I can't stop but think I would've had a veterinarian that was more knowledgeable or caring that my dog still might be here.. The veterinarian that I seen yesterday evening did not seem to know what was going on... heartbroken

Very nice staff and doctors. Very clean facility. They are on top of everything to try their best to get to a solution. A bit pricey, but which vet is not.. the office visits are pretty average and the tests or labs are not always set by the actual vet so it's understandable. I would rather pay a little more here and get treated good and be in a nice and comfortable environment. I was a walk in and it did not take long at all. I have waited hours at other vets, almost a whole day. So I am thankful that they have multiple doctors on site at once.

I am really surprised by the negative reviews. I have been bringing my pets here for years and have never had a negative experience. Whether I'm calling in for some advise or there for an appointment I'm always greeted with a friendly voice or smile, the vets and staff here are amazing. The love a care they have for animals shows. The prices here are great too!

Love Dr. Holm. He always takes the time needed to figure out what is wrong with our pets. He never makes me feel like I am being rushed. I would highly recommend this vet.
