Companion Animal Hospital Of Woodward Park

For the past two weeks I've noticed that my dogs ears were losing fur. Of course I looked it up on google and good lord did I start freakin out! Everything from mange to rotting flesh! I have two other dogs who I absolutely do not want to get mange, so I know it needed to be looked at today for peace of mind. Since my vet was closed today I decided to look at yelp for someone who might be open. The person on the phone was very polite and told me to bring my dog in right away. The office is very no thrills and basic. But the attending assistant was very nice. There was very little wait time for the doctor. He was very nice and gentle as he examined my dog. He put my fears to rest and let me know it wasn't the google worst case scenario. But, he also let me know there were tests that could be ran to assure that it wasn't mites that my other two dogs could be exposed to. The assistant came in with an estimate of all of the tests and treatments. She was very honest and I never felt pressured at any time. I felt the prices were very reasonable! They are going to check my dog back in a week, free of charge. I left there feeling relieved with a plan to help get my dog back to healthy and happy again. I'm really happy I found them today! 9:00am Our dog went in on an emergency situations and all went great.  But after, Dr. realized that we needed additional care at the Doctors office since our situation was very critical and we needed to monitor our dog to ensure survival, the Dr. was awesome to offer that the dog come back to stay the day with him and staff so the dog can be properly monitored, even though they are not a 24 hr hospital he extended the offer.  During that conversation, no mention of money that needed to be paid up front, nor an estimate of the amount that needed to be paid, so we could be prepared with cash in hand (Poor Communications).  So, when the arrangements were made with my family to take the dog in and after everyone had already gone to work and no support at home was left, they spring up and state they needed their money in advance or they can't do anything for the dog; but business common sense is not even applied here, yet no one realizes how much money has already been paid, the dedication to our animals meant nothing to hungry money grabbers like this, after bringing two other dogs to be checked out. Plus, the sick dog is an emotional support animal, which its owners are devastated that someone would be so uncaring to want money for animal who needs services to remain alive. Even though we have already spent $382.00 and were willing to pay more for our family member to get well.  We will make the drive and sacrifice for our dog today, to the American Pet Hospital in Modesto where we know that mans best friend is king!  Thanks for the call back Doctor! No need to call now!  Sorry you could not face me and address my concerns too such a sick and possible dying animal.  Won't refer and won't be back! A UPDATE 4:33pm, sad to report because this dr. refused treatment for money, which the dog was making solid improvements from yesterday to this morning and was on the way to recover, it is now 433pm my dog is not going to make it, he needed to be hydrated as the Dr. mentioned and the dr. offered to improve his chances for survival and the dr. and staff in my eyes offered it willing which made us feel they were genuinely concerned for the well-being of our animal and now we have a dog that is dying now!  I hope the $382.00 will satisfy your bills, while a whole family will mourns the death of our dog!  This is criminal the way you did us! I love this place.. I came in to get a health certificate for my dog and they were very nice throughout. The vet is so nice and gentle with my dog! I also purchased the $25 for $35 voucher, at first they said I can't use it since I wasn't a new customer (I came a year ago for a health certificate) however the vet let me use it this time which was so sweet of him! I will definitely be coming here from now on!! And I highly recommend this vet! Read Less

Great place to take your pets. I highly recommend this place. I noticed my puppy had worms in his poop in the morning. I called the Vet office and they were able to see him the same day and give him the medication he needed.Prices are reasonable. Read Less

Completely impressed with the services provided here. I took my cat in yesterday because he had been bit and it looked like it was starting to possibly get infected.  PROS:1. Called and seen same day2. No wait time when we arrived3. Friendly vet techs 4. Fair prices 5. Very professional as well as very compassionate. Took my best friend to be put to rest and was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Dr. Singh affirmed my decision that this was the most humane and loving act I could do for him. I had time before the procedure, was there through it, and had time afterwards. After going around town to numerous vets, I am extremely happy with companion animal hospital. Low office visit fee that sometimes gets waived to 0! The best part though is the doctor lets you have a choice on what to get or not. Many other vets force their medication or procedure on you at a ridiculous price, where as companion lets you decide what to do or not to do. The doctor is very helpful and genuine. It is not every day that you can ring the animal hospital and the veterinarian answers the phone and on a Sunday! Our pup Hammie had a hole in the back of her leg that we found Sunday morning. Looking up animal hospitals we found Companion and saw that they were open on weekends so decided to call rather than wait until Monday. It was the best decision ever! My daughter took Hammie and was taken right back for her to be seen. She remarked how wonderful the staff was and how great the Dr was with our pup. I would rate this animal hospital a 10! Today we sent our golden retriever of 14 years to the doghouse in the sky. Upon arrival Harley was anxious and thrown off that the four of us were at the vet with him. However, his usual vet tech comforted him and told us she was sorry we were losing such a great dog. Not once did our family feel that Companion saw Harley as revenue rather than an animal.
