In September 2017 on a Thursday evening, my 8 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback pup named Wendell got extremely sick and was vomiting all evening. Friday morning I took Wendell to my previous vet who charged a huge amount to tell me they didn't do surgery and Wendell had a stomach blockage and wouldn't make it through the weekend. I spent the entire weekend force feeding Gatorade to Wendell and he was able to continue living, but wasn't in good shape Monday morning. At 8am, I took Wendell back to my vet and was extremely upset and in tears and asked what else could I do to save Wendell's life? I was told to call Kings Canyon Veterinary Foundation. I immediately called them and explained Wendell's situation and was told to bring Wendell into them asap! I brought Wendell into Kings Canyon Veterinary Foundation and was greeted by a very pleasant nurse who weighed Wendell. His weight had gone from 55 pounds down to 25 pounds. The nurse had me take Wendell back to see Dr. LeBeauf, who examined Wendell. I was in tears at the time and Dr. LeBeauf put his hand on my shoulder and said he would do whatever he had to do to save Wendell's life. The next day he performed surgery on Wendell and removed 2 feet of thick rope from Wendell's stomach that he couldn't pass. Later, I found out that Wendell ate one of his rope toys that he played with. That afternoon I picked Wendell up from Kings Canyon Pet Foundation and Wendell has grown up and become wonderful, loving dog. I have changed all of my dogs over to Kings Canyon Pet Foundation and I let everybody I know who has pets, just how great Dr. LeBeuf and the staff at Kings Canyon Pet Foundation is. The vet is very nice, but the hours and days of operation are not good if your dog had surgery and something goes wrong. Had to take my little one to another vet after her incision busted open and was infected. The vet should always send dogs home with antibiotics after surgery. I suggest going elsewhere if your going to get a serious surgery for your dog. Read Less

OK I've read all the reviews prior to mine. Even the not recommend reviews, the bad ones there are bits that ring true, but the surmise usually is a stretch. The only one that I feel is 100 was Gina's.The doc, well if the old lady doc that worked there married this guy, I GUARANTEE he is an animal lover and cares more them any of the 1-2 star reviews give him credit for. That said he's freaking 86 or 87 years old so yes maybe he didn't hear you, maybe he misunderstood you, maybe that explains a few things.My experience with Dr LeBuff is mixed. He must have had some bad experiences with large guard dog types, refer to Gina's review. I took my Rott in & he stuck the thermometer up his ass, the dog growled. He said that's why some vets won't see these dogs. I told him you stick something up my bum without me aware, I'd growl too. I didn't tell him his late wife saw at least 5 of my adult rotts and never had an issue or heard a growl. I miss that beautiful lady almost as much as he does.Anyway he really didn't give a diagnosis, except maybe stomach issues. No lie, 16 days later I took him to Dr Saike in Sanger & the doc using only his hands feels a 3 pound tumor on his side - no bum invasion. He was only 70 years old at that time.In 2011 my little Boston Terrier was acting ill, took him in, the Dr loved the LITTLE guy and took his vitals, pup seemed OK, but no diagnosis.If you want vitals, some surgery, vaccinations, I don't think you'll find a better lower priced place in the area. I was very happy with the care I received for our dog Hercules. The love for animals by Dr LeBuef is true. It's not the fanciest place to go. But it is a nonprofit organization. Which is fine with me. Anyone who treats my dog with love and respect is worthy of respect in my book. I will be back! Read Less

We at Fresno Humane did a intake yesterday on a 11 year old dog. She had a microchip that was never registered. We asked where the chip was implanted and that let us to Kings Canyon Vet. Because this vet keeps amazing records we we're able to send this girl back home today. She had traveled halfway across fresno in the over 2 months she had been missing. I had never taken a pet to any kind of veterinary expert. Given I was nervous. But the front desk ladies made it an enjoyable experience. My dog got her rabies shots here, she got spayed here, and she also got dewormed. The actual Vet is a volunteer he is very experienced and knows how to deal with nervous dogs! If i hadn't moved to Washington this animal clinic would be my clinic for life for my dog. Read Less

Made an appointment on the advice of a friend who to put it lightly said the location and facilities were a little rough but ,doctor was great. Well I didn't feel the same.  My dog was very scared and a anxious and the doctor did not take that into consideration at all! He had my husband mussel him and put him on a metal table and raised it 3 feet into the air while my 74 pound dog was trying to jump off. I understand the mussel no one wants to get bit but adding to his fear putting him up on this table did not seem to me a good idea. I really didn't get the care I brought him there for either an was charged $65 . I could really go on but will just end saying if you have a large and some what fearful dog look around because you might all leave there  traumatized as we did. Read Less

I have been bringing my fur babies to this vet for years. For simple vet stuff this place is good, they don't over charge you. The surrounding area is sketchy. I am giving one star because of this. I don't recommend taking your pet for anything serious to this place. If for some reason your pet needs to stay over night, they place your pet in a kennel and leave until the next morning. If you pet is seriously ill, they have you come and pick them up on Friday and taken them home. My puppy was seriously ill and he sent her home with me. No medication and just instructions on how to keep her hydrated at home. When I asked about medication he said that they had already given her some so she would be fine. When I got her to a vet hospital the next night cause she was having a hard time breathing, they were very surprised that they had even send her home, especially with how serious she was. The vet at the vet hospital stated that there was no way she should have gone home for us to care for her, cause she should have been on IV, meds and close monitoring. She ended up passing away. I don't think the vet at the veterinary foundation knows how to handle serious vet issues. Think twice before bringing in your pet to him for anything serious. Read Less

Kings Canyon Vet is hands down the best in the area. We have been coming to Dr. LeBeuf for about 2 years now and cannot imagine ever going anywhere else. Everyone in the office is very kind, and Doc is always willing to answer any questions that we have concerning our pets and the treatment they are receiving, and explaining things in a way that is easy to understand. He is gentle during examination, knowledgeable about his field. I appreciate that everyone is genuinely concerned about the well being of all of the animals that they see. I cannot remember ever being more comfortable with a vet, and I am so thankful that we found him! Read Less

I love this Vet!!!  He and his staff are wonderful!  My 13 year old cat had a lump above her eyelid.  They got me in the same day.  She had a cyst.  He said he could drain it and freeze it, no anesthesia.  They handled her with care, she's doing great.  They don't charge you an arm and a leg.  My kitty is purring and happy!! I have been looking for a good vet! I did a lot of research on all the vets around Fresno Clovis area. This doctor is knowledgeable, and really cares about the animals, and their families. The pricing is great. I know the location isn't the best but the doctor truly makes it a diamond in the rough. My experience is from a lot of research from the vets in this area. Doc LeBeuf has been my Vet for many years, and I love his approach to small animal care. He doesn't just shove costly medicine or surgery at his clients...many times it is a simple "common sense" approach that is the best way to handle different situations. I like that, and I know my pets appreciate it, too. It would be my wish that all pets could have a Vet as sincere as Doc is ~ he's the best! Thank you, Doc, for always being there when we need you.
