This hospital is clean and the staff is welcoming and provide excellent service. They were able to squeeze me in today after I made my dog's appointment for the wrong day. Also, office visits are very affordable and my dogs medication was cheap as well. The doctor was great! She gave my dog a thorough examination and thoroughly explained everything that could be wrong with her. I also appreciated the fact that they promptly took me back into the exam room with my dog and the doctor didn't take very long to come into the room. I was in and out within an hour.

They've been the best for every dog and cat I've ever had very the last 20 years. I've had several dogs that were themselves disabled, some severely disabled and the Drs worked with me to keep all of them alive and thriving for more years than my fur-kids would have had. Currently Dip-Stick(16+yrs) starting to lose his sight. Tri-Pod(6+yrs) born with 5legs but only walks on 3 legs. We have always been treated great by the staff! Dr Yo, that is what we called him, was so good with our Jack Russell, Happy! She loved going to see him. She started going to him when she was about 8 weeks old. She lived to be 18 years old! Everyone there has been wonderful & the new vet was so good with her when we had to put her to sleep. She is so kind & caring, she was there with us thru every step of the way & made us feel so much better about what we had to do for our baby. We had her cremated & have her in a little gold box, with her picture on it.
They are all wonderful people to deal with!

When Dr. Yoo was around, this place was great. The new vets are inept in their care and horrible in their customer service. I had a boy dog who went through some rough medical issues last year before passing away.
A wait of an hour or more after my appointment time was not unusual.
They told me to come in with my very sick girl dog at 10:30 this morning for x-rays. Once there, they told me they couldn't look at her until after lunch. Then why have me come in at 10:30? I told them I was done for good. I asked for my dog's file and they REFUSED to give it to me (the law says they HAVE to get it to me). They were butt-hurt because I was leaving, so they wanted to complicate things for me today. I eventually got the file. I'm going to complain to the state board Monday morning.

The absolute BEST! When my dog Eli was being taken in for a checkup, he managed to wiggle out of his collar in front of their office, ran out onto Shields, got hit by a car and ran off. Our vet closed the hospital early, jumped in his car, and helped me search for Eli for hours. When Eli thankfully showed up on my doorstep the next morning, I called them and they told me to immediately bring him in. They have since put up a gated area in front of their office and told me they named it after Eli. :) Such a caring and compassionate group of people, I can't recommend them enough.

Took my dog here because she was pretty bad to the point where I didn't think she'd make another day they didn't do walk ins but I told them her conditions and took me in the same day they really were very caring and did whatever to help her , even had me taking her in so they can check up on her status , my dog is now recovering and looking better I really recommend this place , they are affordable compared to other places I've thought of taking her, wait time isn't long at all , staff is very nice and caring , I can say I really am grateful for all them will be coming here for all my dogs for sure!

The subcutaneous rehydration technique could use some finesse, I'm thinking a smaller needle with an IV drip instead of a 100cc horse injector, but overall on a late Saturday morning we got out of there with a $93 bill and an antibiotic injection, eye drops, and oral antibiotics. This medication has killed so many dogs (including my Golden Retriever and Scottish Terrier) that the FDA forced the medication maker to send letters to all vets that a 'side effect' may be death. I'm shocked anyone would prescribe this deadly painkiller. I also wonder why the FDA allows it on the market. This vet facility wouldn't even acknowledge the danger of giving this prescription I can't reccommend this facility to anyone.

This is a wonderful clinic. I have used Shield Stone for over 20 years, primarily receiving service from Dr. Yoo and Dr. Hwang. Both vets are highly ethical, knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate towards animals and human beings. The support staff is also remarkably efficient and kind. A wide variety of care is offered, prices are comparatively affordable and treatment is consistently effective. They are careful and clear while explaining various options, especially when dealing with serious health issues or limited budgets. Thankful they've kept my pets healthy with preventative care, saved them when I thought there was little hope, and just as importantly, offered sympathetic support through painful terminal situations. No one in this clinic was hired to fill space - it's very obvious they share commitment to helping animals and their owners. Have used other vets, but always a stellar experience here.

This is just a review of the eye clinic. I took my Boston, who has cataracts, in for an eye exam. I spent $85 for the doctor to tell me my dog had cataracts. If you are 100% ready to give your dog cataract surgery, then this is the eye clinic for you. But in my case, I felt that I paid $85 to listen to a commercial about a $2700 surgery I had and continue to have no intention of getting. I was hoping the visit came with a well checkup but that part took 60 seconds, and the exam took less than 5 minutes. I feel ripped off.

It was time to take my dog in for a teeth cleaning. I moved back to Fresno and didn't have a regular vet. So I did some research on Yelp and found Shields Stone. This is a no nonsense vet. From their brochure it looks like they do just about everything...including cataract surgery. The staff seemed to work like a well-oiled machine and I had total confidence in Dr. Shimm and the staff. I had both of my dogs, Mable and Missy, examined. Mable was put under and had her teeth scaled and Missy checked out okay. In the end I was happy, And I was happy the bill, too!I'll be taking my dogs to Shields Stone from now on.

My dog needed dental care ASAP. I am new to this having to take a pet to the vet deal. I knew for sure it was going to cost me. I called Shield Stone and made an appointment for exam and dental service immediately after. they examined my dog and I signed the paperwork for her and they needed to call if extractions were going to happen. My dog needed one extraction due to her having a foxtail in her mouth. FYI keep your pets away from foxtail plants they are DANGEROUS! didn't find out till they explained what it was and my dog was losing a tooth because of it. I picked up my dog right at the time the scheduled her to be picked up. She was crying but only because she wanted to go home. They treated my baby and her dental needs with the most proper care. The price was VERY reasonable. I will be getting her dental check ups her every year from here on out.

I was recommended to come here by one of my friends. I've been coming here for over 8 years now. Dr. Yoo is an outstanding vet and the employees are always friendly. My dog has medication allergies and special health issues, the doctors always make sure to accommodate him and monitor him to ensure he is safe. I'm so thankful for them, they have helped my dog more than I can ever explain over the years.

My dog started getting skin allergies again, brought him here because a friend recommended. They got us in the same day, not like HOPE who did not have an appt for a week the last time I needed a vet and Abbey Pet makes him so nervous because they have long waits. We went in early just in case I had to fill out paperwork like at Abbey, but the Tech took all the info down, which was just our address and dog info. Our appt was at 4:30p, Dr. Shim had already checked, initially diagnosed and shaved my dog's under belly by 4:35p. We were out of there in no time, so glad and the prices were great for appt, antibiotic, steroid, shampoo, and spray under $120.00. I had to pay twice that for less meds and longer wait time at Abbey. Thank you Dr. Shim and staff!

I have been taking my dogs to Shield Stone for the last year after being referred by a family member. I've always had a good experience with very friendly service. Although, what stands out to me the most is the great service both my dog and I received after she had a medical emergency the other day.My dog Daisy had been throwing up, shaking, and not moving or eating (which is definitely not like her). I called Shield Stone the next morning to see if they had any openings when her condition did not improve and they were able to fit her right in. After running multiple tests she was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and the vet was extremely helpful with explaining what it is, treatment, pricing etc. (Most likely from eating too much people food) She ended up needing to stay overnight with an IV. The total bill ended up being a little under $800 which included tests, stay, IV, medicine, and food. Although it was not cheap I was pleasantly surprised, expecting it to be quite larger a number. It helped too that I have Care Credit (highly recommend) so I wasn't forced to shell out that much money right then and there. I'll just be down about $50 each month till its paid off but that's nothing compared to my dog being healthy again.

My cat had to come here twice after he became lethargic and was vomiting multiple times. Both times the staff here literally brought him back to life. Super caring and were gentle with him. They understand that to us, our pets are our babies and treat them as such. I know people complain about vet prices, but can you really put a price on saving a loved one? They do take Carecredit which is a great alternative to paying out of pocket when your in a bind.

All three of my dogs have been to this clinic. They have always been nice n friendly (the front staff n Drs). When I walk into Shield Stone Pet Hospital with my four legged child, we are always greeted with smiles. The staff and Doctors (Dr. Yoo & Dr. Hwang) are WONDERFUL. I feel like they go above and beyond to make sure every vist is a great one. Even on a busy day they are always accommodating and willing to fit us in for last minute appointments. I feel like they treat my pet like she's one of their own, & there is no greater feeling then knowing that they love her as much as I do. By the time we found out about this place my husky had already been completely blind. Dr. Yoo diagnosed her with Glaucoma and cataracts. He gave me his honest opinion about what was best for her. And he never recommended more than what we needed. He was also the one to enucleate her eyes. They called for a follow up so we wouldn't be charged a fee just to see the doctor which I appreciated. Dr. H was also very good w my dog. It was obvious how much she cared for my dog when she developed a phobia of going outside. After we ruled out it wasn't anything medical she told me to keep her on a strict route. A few days later they sent me a packet of info on caring for blind dogs, phobias, games etc. and that just made my year. All I feel is that Dr. H probably wanted to help more and went out of her way. And my dog is slowly going back to her normal self. Lastly, the vet techs here that are familiar w my dogs are amazing especially the tall lady and the Asian guy. They're always curious to what the doctor had to say and recommended a lot of things that saved me money. I'm never going anywhere else.

Our 1 year old German Shepherd/Lab mix was hit by a car, but didn't have any cuts or bleeding. She was bright eyed, wagged her tail and continued to eat well. She wouldn't stand up, though, and we suspected a broken hip. I called and spoke to a staff member and he was very kind and informative on what our options were and the costs involved. We waited a day and a half to see if she got any better. When she didn't, I called the Stone Pet Hospital again and made an appointment for x-rays. They were able to see her a couple of hours later. The hospital was very clean and orderly. All of the staff knew their job and did it efficiently. Dr. Kim was very kind and explained the x-rays. Our dog had a broken pelvis and a punctured lung. We were given pain medication and antibiotics. Our dog is now home resting and healing. Dr. Kim explained everything in very simple terms so we could understand exactly what was wrong on the x-rays. I wish she could be a people doctor, too.

This hospital is clean and the staff is welcoming and provide excellent service. They were able to squeeze me in today after I made my dog's appointment for the wrong day. Also, office visits are very affordable and my dogs medication was cheap as well. The doctor was great! She gave my dog a thorough examination and thoroughly explained everything that could be wrong with her. I also appreciated the fact that they promptly took me back into the exam room with my dog and the doctor didn't take very long to come into the room. I was in and out within an hour.

They've been the best for every dog and cat I've ever had very the last 20 years. I've had several dogs that were themselves disabled, some severely disabled and the Drs worked with me to keep all of them alive and thriving for more years than my fur-kids would have had. Currently Dip-Stick(16+yrs) starting to lose his sight. Tri-Pod(6+yrs) born with 5legs but only walks on 3 legs. We have always been treated great by the staff! Dr Yo, that is what we called him, was so good with our Jack Russell, Happy! She loved going to see him. She started going to him when she was about 8 weeks old. She lived to be 18 years old! Everyone there has been wonderful & the new vet was so good with her when we had to put her to sleep. She is so kind & caring, she was there with us thru every step of the way & made us feel so much better about what we had to do for our baby. We had her cremated & have her in a little gold box, with her picture on it.
They are all wonderful people to deal with!

When Dr. Yoo was around, this place was great. The new vets are inept in their care and horrible in their customer service. I had a boy dog who went through some rough medical issues last year before passing away.
A wait of an hour or more after my appointment time was not unusual.
They told me to come in with my very sick girl dog at 10:30 this morning for x-rays. Once there, they told me they couldn't look at her until after lunch. Then why have me come in at 10:30? I told them I was done for good. I asked for my dog's file and they REFUSED to give it to me (the law says they HAVE to get it to me). They were butt-hurt because I was leaving, so they wanted to complicate things for me today. I eventually got the file. I'm going to complain to the state board Monday morning.

The absolute BEST! When my dog Eli was being taken in for a checkup, he managed to wiggle out of his collar in front of their office, ran out onto Shields, got hit by a car and ran off. Our vet closed the hospital early, jumped in his car, and helped me search for Eli for hours. When Eli thankfully showed up on my doorstep the next morning, I called them and they told me to immediately bring him in. They have since put up a gated area in front of their office and told me they named it after Eli. :) Such a caring and compassionate group of people, I can't recommend them enough.

Took my dog here because she was pretty bad to the point where I didn't think she'd make another day they didn't do walk ins but I told them her conditions and took me in the same day they really were very caring and did whatever to help her , even had me taking her in so they can check up on her status , my dog is now recovering and looking better I really recommend this place , they are affordable compared to other places I've thought of taking her, wait time isn't long at all , staff is very nice and caring , I can say I really am grateful for all them will be coming here for all my dogs for sure!

The subcutaneous rehydration technique could use some finesse, I'm thinking a smaller needle with an IV drip instead of a 100cc horse injector, but overall on a late Saturday morning we got out of there with a $93 bill and an antibiotic injection, eye drops, and oral antibiotics. Not too shabby. But then I'm used to bay area prices ROFL, what do I know?

This medication has killed so many dogs (including my Golden Retriever and Scottish Terrier) that the FDA forced the medication maker to send letters to all vets that a 'side effect' may be death. I'm shocked anyone would prescribe this deadly painkiller. I also wonder why the FDA allows it on the market. This vet facility wouldn't even acknowledge the danger of giving this prescription I can't reccommend this facility to anyone.

This is a wonderful clinic. I have used Shield Stone for over 20 years, primarily receiving service from Dr. Yoo and Dr. Hwang. Both vets are highly ethical, knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate towards animals and human beings. The support staff is also remarkably efficient and kind. A wide variety of care is offered, prices are comparatively affordable and treatment is consistently effective. They are careful and clear while explaining various options, especially when dealing with serious health issues or limited budgets. Thankful they've kept my pets healthy with preventative care, saved them when I thought there was little hope, and just as importantly, offered sympathetic support through painful terminal situations. No one in this clinic was hired to fill space - it's very obvious they share commitment to helping animals and their owners. Have used other vets, but always a stellar experience here.

This is just a review of the eye clinic. I took my Boston, who has cataracts, in for an eye exam. I spent $85 for the doctor to tell me my dog had cataracts. If you are 100% ready to give your dog cataract surgery, then this is the eye clinic for you. But in my case, I felt that I paid $85 to listen to a commercial about a $2700 surgery I had and continue to have no intention of getting. I was hoping the visit came with a well checkup but that part took 60 seconds, and the exam took less than 5 minutes. I feel ripped off.

It was time to take my dog in for a teeth cleaning. I moved back to Fresno and didn't have a regular vet. So I did some research on Yelp and found Shields Stone. This is a no nonsense vet. From their brochure it looks like they do just about everything...including cataract surgery. The staff seemed to work like a well-oiled machine and I had total confidence in Dr. Shimm and the staff. I had both of my dogs, Mable and Missy, examined. Mable was put under and had her teeth scaled and Missy checked out okay. In the end I was happy, And I was happy the bill, too!I'll be taking my dogs to Shields Stone from now on.

I called Shield Stone and made an appointment for exam and dental service immediately after. they examined my dog and I signed the paperwork for her and they needed to call if extractions were going to happen. My dog needed one extraction due to her having a foxtail in her mouth. FYI keep your pets away from foxtail plants they are DANGEROUS! didn't find out till they explained what it was and my dog was losing a tooth because of it. I picked up my dog right at the time the scheduled her to be picked up. She was crying but only because she wanted to go home. They treated my baby and her dental needs with the most proper care. The price was VERY reasonable. I will be getting her dental check ups her every year from here on out.

I was recommended to come here by one of my friends. I've been coming here for over 8 years now. Dr. Yoo is an outstanding vet and the employees are always friendly. My dog has medication allergies and special health issues, the doctors always make sure to accommodate him and monitor him to ensure he is safe. I'm so thankful for them, they have helped my dog more than I can ever explain over the years.

My dog started getting skin allergies again, brought him here because a friend recommended. They got us in the same day, not like HOPE who did not have an appt for a week the last time I needed a vet and Abbey Pet makes him so nervous because they have long waits. We went in early just in case I had to fill out paperwork like at Abbey, but the Tech took all the info down, which was just our address and dog info. Our appt was at 4:30p, Dr. Shim had already checked, initially diagnosed and shaved my dog's under belly by 4:35p. We were out of there in no time, so glad and the prices were great for appt, antibiotic, steroid, shampoo, and spray under $120.00. I had to pay twice that for less meds and longer wait time at Abbey. Thank you Dr. Shim and staff!

I have been taking my dogs to Shield Stone for the last year after being referred by a family member. I've always had a good experience with very friendly service. Although, what stands out to me the most is the great service both my dog and I received after she had a medical emergency the other day.My dog Daisy had been throwing up, shaking, and not moving or eating (which is definitely not like her). I called Shield Stone the next morning to see if they had any openings when her condition did not improve and they were able to fit her right in. After running multiple tests she was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and the vet was extremely helpful with explaining what it is, treatment, pricing etc. (Most likely from eating too much people food) She ended up needing to stay overnight with an IV. The total bill ended up being a little under $800 which included tests, stay, IV, medicine, and food. Although it was not cheap I was pleasantly surprised, expecting it to be quite larger a number. It helped too that I have Care Credit (highly recommend) so I wasn't forced to shell out that much money right then and there. I'll just be down about $50 each month till its paid off but that's nothing compared to my dog being healthy again.

My cat had to come here twice after he became lethargic and was vomiting multiple times. Both times the staff here literally brought him back to life. Super caring and were gentle with him. They understand that to us, our pets are our babies and treat them as such. I know people complain about vet prices, but can you really put a price on saving a loved one? They do take Carecredit which is a great alternative to paying out of pocket when your in a bind.

I love the doctors, I love the staff, I love how they treat me and my grandma kitty. I will never go anywhere else (unless recommended by SHIELD STONE) She's 14 now, and I owe it all to them!!!!! All three of my dogs have been to this clinic. They have always been nice n friendly (the front staff n Drs). Unfortunately I don't remember what the Drs name was but she's always very professional and does explain every procedure to me. My male dog jus went through a hernia surgery n I am waiting for him get back to his old self. They were really good about the whole process. Total cost was $800 for hernia surgery.

I wouldn't take my pets ANYWHERE else!! When I see the negative reviews about this clinic I can tell that the negative reviews are from people who have NO understanding of what it is to own a pet. When I walk into Shield Stone Pet Hospital with my four legged child, we are always greeted with smiles. The staff and Doctors (Dr. Yoo & Dr. Hwang) are WONDERFUL. I feel like they go above and beyond to make sure every vist is a great one. Even on a busy day they are always accommodating and willing to fit us in for last minute appointments. I feel like they treat my pet like she's one of their own, & there is no greater feeling then knowing that they love her as much as I do. Thank you Shield Stone Pet Hospital for they years of great service

By the time we found out about this place my husky had already been completely blind. Dr. Yoo diagnosed her with Glaucoma and cataracts. He gave me his honest opinion about what was best for her. And he never recommended more than what we needed. He was also the one to enucleate her eyes. They called for a follow up so we wouldn't be charged a fee just to see the doctor which I appreciated. Dr. H was also very good w my dog. It was obvious how much she cared for my dog when she developed a phobia of going outside. After we ruled out it wasn't anything medical she told me to keep her on a strict route. A few days later they sent me a packet of info on caring for blind dogs, phobias, games etc. and that just made my year. All I feel is that Dr. H probably wanted to help more and went out of her way. And my dog is slowly going back to her normal self. Lastly, the vet techs here that are familiar w my dogs are amazing especially the tall lady and the Asian guy. They're always curious to what the doctor had to say and recommended a lot of things that saved me money. I'm never going anywhere else.

Our 1 year old German Shepherd/Lab mix was hit by a car, but didn't have any cuts or bleeding. She was bright eyed, wagged her tail and continued to eat well. She wouldn't stand up, though, and we suspected a broken hip. I called and spoke to a staff member and he was very kind and informative on what our options were and the costs involved. We waited a day and a half to see if she got any better. When she didn't, I called the Stone Pet Hospital again and made an appointment for x-rays. They were able to see her a couple of hours later. The hospital was very clean and orderly. All of the staff knew their job and did it efficiently. Dr. Kim was very kind and explained the x-rays. Our dog had a broken pelvis and a punctured lung. We were given pain medication and antibiotics. Our dog is now home resting and healing. Dr. Kim explained everything in very simple terms so we could understand exactly what was wrong on the x-rays. I wish she could be a people doctor, too.

After visiting a local vet and putting my dog through several failed surgical procedures, someone referred me to Fresno and Shield Stone Pet Hospital. They got it right the first time. If my animals ever need anytype of eyecare I will call here first could have =saved myself a lot of money and my dog a lot of discomfort.
