Dr. Vani is incredibly kind, caring and knowledgeable.  I just read a negative review about someone feeling like she pressured her to have tests run on her puppy and I have to say that I have experienced just the opposite.  One of the many things I love about her is that she doesn't push unnecessary tests or medications and always provides the options available for the care of your pet.  The other thing that makes her stand out above the rest is that the she has taken the time to study and master other alternative ways of treating your pet such as chiropractic adjustments and homeopathy so that you are not stuck with just giving prescription medications or having surgery.  She is truly amazing and one of a kind. Lets start off.. I'm a first time puppy owner. I brought my 8 week old puppy home for exactly a week and I noticed that she was having diarrhea.  Everyone told me not to be alarmed, it is quite normal for a puppy to have diarrhea, especially since she got her first set of shots recently, I switched her food twice, and she is in a new environment, away from her mother, etc. I read a lot of forums and I talked to numerous puppy parents, husky owners and non-husky owners. But since this was my first time having a puppy, I thought I should just be on the safe side and bring her in.I came in for my appointment and she examined my puppy then informed me that there is a chance my puppy has Parvo and she kept insisting that I test for it. I asked her if this was necessary because she wasn't lethargic in any way, so it didn't seem like she has parvo. She then proceeded to inform me that Parvo is very dangerous and if it was positive, she had to be admitted and hooked up to ivy's. I understand, lets be on the safe side right. But I felt like she low-key judged me for not wanting to test for it originally. I felt belittled after it all.Anyways, I ended up testing for it, and what do you know? She is negative, clear from Parvo.. Her assistant came in and gave me a break down of the costs and fees, if she DIDN'T HAVE PARVO. Are you kidding me.  Is there really an issue then. She then told me to go with her treatments because PDX is obviously having stomach issues and we need to reverse what is going on to stop her diarrhea. After I insisted that I did not want to go this route that was going to cost me hundreds of dollars, she simply ended the appointment with some emergency contacts, she informed me to rush my dog here when she starts barfing because we didn't take proper treatment, (as if it was definitely going to happen).Let me remind you that this is my first puppy and my first time at a vet. WHAT. THE. F. She obviously smelled the fear in my voice and knew that this is where to make her money. I felt vulnerable and I felt like she took full advantage of our situation. I wanted someone that I can turn to for guidance and support, not someone that wanted to run tests because they knew I would say yes cause of my fear.  In the end, I didn't listen to her and did not go through with her treatments. Worst vet experience I've ever had.My elderly pet rat took a turn for the worst, had a seizure, & was struggling to breathe. I just moved to the area 3 days ago so I went here because it was the closest place to my new home. I wanted to end my girl's suffering right away. I walked in with Pickle wrapped in a towel, I was clearly upset, and I told the doctor I think I need to put her to sleep. The doctor (who didn't introduce herself or show any compassion at all) gave me a clipboard & said it would be $200 to put her to sleep. He didn't even examine her! I didn't say anything, and he said maybe we could lower it to $150. Crazy thing is that I didn't even ask how much it would be, but money was clearly the most important thing on his mind. Read Less

this Veterinary almost killed my beautiful dog Raisin. My dog started loosing weight rapidly, went from 70lbs to 50lbs. I took my dog to them 4 times all together within those 4 months. They wanted me to start with a Fecal and a blood test worth 300$. Both tests came negative, (at least that's what they told me), while my dog was loosing weight in front of my eyes. After that I paid for another $200 for another kind of blood test that came negative as well. At this point I had spend $500 with no results and my dog was dying in front of my eyes. My last visit they told me to buy some special food, so I did. My dogs diarrhea got worst and his weight dropped MORE, so skinny that he could hardly move, would stay curled up in bed all day. Last call I made to them, they wanted to charge me $400 for an Ultra Sound Testing. Staff are lying scoundrels. If I did not switch my vet, I'm almost positive that my dog would be dead and I would've spend almost $1000 dollars with no results. Read Less

I was hesitant to come here at first because I generally don't trust anything in Garden Grove, but being walking distance from where I live made me want to give it a shot.  Upon entering, my initial impression was that the facility seemed very professional.  I was impressed that they gave me an estimate before proceeding with treatment and charges, something the previous vet I went to did not do and at a much fairer price.  Another thing Dr. Vani did that made me feel that she was a legit practitioner was that she took/tested actual skin/stool samples.  My dog tested positive for giardia, which makes me fairly upset that my dog suffered longer than she should have.  However, I am very thankful that Dr. Vani was able to catch that.  I will probably be coming here for my dog's future medical needs! I am so grateful that I made the choice to take my boy here!!  I have 2 bad experiences recently with 2 other vets so I was very leery about anyone. I just got Brutus, a 10 week-old English Bulldog and was nervous about if I choose the right office. My nerves were calmed when I met Jasmin in person, she is one of the assistants and one who booked our appointment. Next, I was equally impressed by Dr. Vani, who is not only caring, she takes time with you as well as your pet. I got all my questions answered, one-on-one time, and everything explained to me. A wonderful experience. We took our pup in for a meet and greet first appointment. We loved her holistic approach to animal health, very refreshing.She got down on the floor to examine our dog, and to ask myriad questions about her life to this point. She wants to do a time line on her life events and how they may be effecting her now.Our pup got a complete physical, and amazingly it was free with a first time visit coupon from her website. She is definitely our new vet. Thanks to her and her friendly staff.Since our visit our dog injured her leg. Dr. Vani is treating her in a conservative manner. I usually don't write reviews unless it's really bad or really exceptional.  My dog (Lucky) was very old, blind, and in pain. After months of debating and seeing him suffering, I took him to see Dr. Vani after all the positive reviews on Yelp.  Thank you Yelp reviewers!Dr. Vani thoroughly exam him and indicated all his conditions. I chose this veterinary clinic based purely on reviews from Yelp because the regular vet my dog has been seeing couldn't get us in. I'm happy to have made the decision to see Dr. Vani. She is such a compassionate person, willing to listen and explains everything thoroughly. Upon seeing my senior dog she suggested couple of procedure and was not pushy at all. Throughout the whole time I was there I felt safe as a mom of a canine patient. Dr. Vani  also called me in the evening to check on my dog and kept me up to date with his test results. She took the time to discuss with me about his test results in person. After our first visit I told her that she'll be our new vet because I have never met a vet with such compassion and warmth. First off I just wanted to say that Dr. Vani was very helpful, informative and patient. You can definitely tell that she loves animals. We were able to book an appointment for a physical exam the day before. I suggest going to their website and printing out their coupon for a free examination for the first visit. We booked our appointment for 8:30 am in the morning, checked in and we were called in about 5 minutes after. There was really no wait at all, which is great. I took my Aussie to Boulevard Animal Hospital as my regular Vet was closed and Dr Vani diagnosed him to have a dislocated hip.  She recommended that I take him immediately to an orthopedic surgeon and she called ahead to make sure they knew we were on our way.  Dr Vani called me while I was driving to the specialist to make sure I knew which office to go.I found Dr Vani to be very empathic and very gentle with Charlie.  She is very professional, particularly when she thought it would be better to have the specialist treat him for everything instead of doing some of it at her office and the rest at the specialist.  Based on my experience today, I am seriously considering switching Vets. Veterinarian hospital), has grown to the point where it would of taken 2 weeks to get an appointment for our sick cat. I searched the internet and found Boulevard Animal hospital and was pleased with the reviews I read. I called to make an appointment and they told me to bring our cat in the next day. This is a great veterinary office, they have treated me fairly and given me great service both times I've been in. Both times my dog Jax has had problems with swelling and itching around his eyes. The vet was very thorough in her examination and discussed all the issues and potential problems. I've been to some vets where I get the bill and cannot believe what I'm seeing but this place like is very fair priced and once again great service. I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Vani for over 10 years. She cares about my dogs as much as I do. She is the best vet I have ever been to and can not recommend her enough. I have never once had any issues with their treatment. The whole staff is outstanding. I have had dental work, x-Rays, surgery, and exams. Never have I left the office upset or confused. I took my dog here after I saw him licking his paws a lot and it concerned me. Luckily this place was open first thing in the morning. Dr. Vani was extremely kind and attentive to my dog. I took him here again after my dog got bit and he grew a cyst. Dr. Vani is extremely attentive and it puts me at ease that my dog isn't afraid to see her and is more then happy to follow her when she takes him to the back for a check up! I've had Sasha (our Siberian Husky) since she was 8 weeks old. For the first two years, I took her to Banfield, located inside the Petsmart across from the Buena Park Mall. After realizing I was overpaying for her care, I decided to look around for other reputable animal hospitals/clinics. I tried taking Sasha to two other animal hospitals and community-sponsored vaccine  and neuter/spay events before hearing about Boulevard Animal Hospital (BAH) through word of mouth. It's not the closest place to my house, but driving a little further is a small trade-off for the quality of care that BAH offers. Besides, the community events get too crowded, and I can only describe it as "assembly-line care." Dr. Sumter, Dr. Vani, and the Vet Techs at BAH are passionate about what they do and it shows! They are very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They explain everything in detail, and present treatment options. So what does that mean? You understand what they are doing, why they are doing it, and there are no surprise charges on the bill. Sasha has visited BAH for many reasons, including: vaccinations, ear infection, dental cleaning, spay, bath, boarding, flea treatment, and even a tick (after our hiking adventure)! I can be a worry-wart sometimes, but I don't get that uneasy feeling when I leave Sasha at BAH. My first visit/exam was free! It was around 5PM when I came home from work and saw my poor dog limping on just 3 legs. I immediately yelped the nearest hospital and this location popped up but they closed in half an hour. I took my chances and went and was so happy when the kind vet decided to take me in. (Even when it was closing time, I was a new patient, and it was an emergency!)The employees and vet were all very nice, friendly, and helpful (especially because they were closing). The doctor took my dog out to the other room and examined her. She was very calm and gentle and my dog trusted her immediately. Luckily enough for me, it was just an allergic reaction to a bug bite she had on her paw and the doctor gave my dog the necessary shots/medicine. The pricing seemed rather fair at $50.00 per examination. (I'm not sure how much other places are though.) I would definitely recommend this place. The doctor seemed to be very knowledgeable and the facility was clean and well kept. The doctor even followed up by calling me the next day to see how my dog was. Excellent customer service! I am a ""vet nomad."" I have been unable to find a vet that I trust at a reasonable price. I was referred to Dr. Vani through a rescue group (Pet Pro Life.) Dr. Vani and Dr. Sumpter (sp?) are very thorough. One of my dogs is VERY SCARED of new people, and Dr. Sumpter put her at ease right away.
