Went here once with our cat. Never Again!!! They were supposed to do a basic blood draw, and he was taken from us, left in a cage in the back while everyone was taking a lunch break, we were left for 30 minutes in the exam room. They bring him back to us, with a huge bill of all the "procedures" they had done, none of which we asked for, or they ran by us first. We paid the crazy bill and left, and in the car discovered our sweet little boy had his back legs drenched in rubbing alcohol!!! Had to bathe him when we got home. Horrible experience. Everyone go to Happy Tails and see Dr. Berka, she's awesome. Read Less

DO NOT GO HERE - UNNECESSARY SURGERY COST ME $380 I went to the Community Veterinary Hospital, Inc. to have a stray cat spayed that we decided to take in. The practice required a screening exam, for which they told us the cat appeared to be pregnant already and we couldn't do any vaccinations until we had her spayed. This visit cost $130. We scheduled a spay 2-weeks later and was told it would be an additional $250. Dr. William A. Grant II was the one who attempted to perform the spay. We were told the cat was ready for pickup. After getting there, paying for services and receiving the cat, we were then told that the cat must have already been spayed. I asked why we just paid $250 and Dr. William A. Grant II became defensive and angry that we contested the charge and how we were lucky he wasn't charging us for the abdominal exploratory procedure of $500+. I understand that the procedure was attempted and their time was considered, so I was willing to pay something. I asked if we can meet halfway on the $250 bill and he would not budge. I also checked the box to contact me for any additional work that may be needed, thus the $500+ he "waived" should not have even been brought up, as I never received a call to consent with that. As well, he refused to return my calls to discuss the matter (four times I left messages with my phone number), so I then took time off work to go in today to hopefully reach a reasonable resolution. Instead he refused to accommodate the customer in any way on this unnecessary operation. How can the customer, with no experience at all, bear all the risk, with no disclosure of this even being a possibility? This is not my field, I relied on the professional. To summarize, I'm $380 out-of-pocket on this experience for nothing and have a "Certificate of Spay" completed by Dr. William A. Grant II, stating he performed the spay on my cat. This is not true. This is a FALSE certificate. Hi did not perform the spay. He only charged me to confirm someone else's work. This is "bad revenue" with poor foresight in maintaining a good customer relationship. This place was recommended to us last year as a less expensive alternative to newer pet hospitals and we have not been disappointed! The staff is so friendly and personable and they genuinely care about you and your pets. It's first come, first served on a walk in basis so depending on how busy they are, it could be a short wait or an hour long wait but that's a small price to pay. The office was built in the 50s and it definitely looks like it, but they have upgraded what they need in order to keep their practice up to date and modern with computers and equipment. If you're looking for a one time vet visit or want to make this place YOUR vet, you'll surely be pleased either way. Read Less

I chose this place because they are the ones who have the best review out of all the animal hospitals that I have searched up and I searched up 5. I also picked this hospital because they take very good care of the pets in surgery, sickness, very bad injury's. Lastly why I picked this is because by Dog Deezel had to be put down at this place, 3 years ago, because he had a tumor growing Around His Heart, and they made him as healthy ad they could because we thought that it was a sickness, so then they have him an X-Ray and they noticed a tumor so we had to put him down or he wouldn't be able to breath or move around very much. they are a miracle worker. Nice enough staff, but that will not stop them from taking advantage of you, for not knowing what is going on with your pet.... They know that you want to do 'what is best', and they will add on lots of things that are not at all necessary. They will try to get every penny out of you, just like a used car salesman - but worse. Then, if you seem hesitant - they will even try the "you can have your pet taken away" routine "if you don't do this here and now". Well I didn't do what they recommended, and took my pet to another vet (which I really LIKED this time), and he said there is not much you can do, just take the pet home, it will be fine. The next day my dog was acting completely normal, and there is nothing wrong with it. Had I listened to dr. Grant, we would have been doing $500 more worth of "treatment" and "medicine" for nothing.
