Im giving it 1 star due to their policies. In the early morning hours of January 11, 2018, I rushed over with my cat who was in distress. She could barely open her eyes, hold her head up, or even move. She refused to take in any food or water. I knew there was something wrong. In order to give her any kind of exam, they wanted to charge me a minimum of $750. Trust me I would've paid anything, had I had the funds, or if they were willing to work with me. They don't do payment plans whatsoever. There's a sign at the door that even says they don't do that. Even my dad who lives an hour away, and on his way to work, was offering to give his credit card number over the phone, but oh no, he has to be there in person (it's hospital policy), which I get, but come on; just work with me! I ended up paying for what I was able to afford, which was outpatient services (IV, pain meds, antibiotics). I took my cat home around 5:30 am, but not before they said to take her back over there within 24 hours so they could do more tests (because I could totally afford it, right???). She ended up running behind my couch. I took a quick nap and when I woke up I discovered that she had already passed away. My advice, don't go here. Make the drive to somewhere where the hospital doesn't have so many damn policies and they actually care about saving the life of your pet. I feel like they only care about getting your money!!!! It sucks too because my baby is no longer here. I don't know what killed her, and I would've at least liked some answers. Read Less

My experience here was great. I came in panicked in the middle of the night because my kitten had ingested flea repellent and I was thinking the worst. I’ve never had a pet and I love her so much so I was distraught and I was not thinking clearly. The staff was very quick and friendly. They showed care and concern for my kitten. Turns out she was fine, and they told me that I could either get her treatment that was not necessary or take her home. I was not in a good place. I mean I was so worried I was willing to pay any amount and they could’ve swindled me out of thousands. And I would’ve paid it. But they were honest and told me she was fine! 5 Stars! We woke up to Max, our dog, choking on a rawhide. Such a stressful situation in the middle of the night to see Max unable to clear his throat and so scared. His heart was at such a slow pace and his breath was weak. We were able to find OC emergency pet clicnic online and it was in our city. The staff was kind and asked many questions to help asses Max. For being the middle of the night, the staff was unbelievably friendly and happy to help. Thank goodness Max was able to clear the rawhide and the staff helped our dog and helped us, emotionally! This is the only place you SHOULD NEVER take your dog too! I thought veterinarians were supposed to be caring and have empathy for the animals that are brought in. THEY DON'T. They will charge you an absurd amount of money ..That's if they treat your animal At ALL! They refuse service to the dogs that need them the most. Its disgusting. I know of 3 people who were refused service by the front desk and then had there dogs suffer and die all bexause they wanted them to have credit .. We took our little dog there after she was hit by a car. The staff showed care and kindness towards her. Unfortunately she did not survive. The next week we received the most beautiful card from them expressing their sympathy. It was signed by the entire staff. We were deeply touched. Read Less

Good looking hospital , clean etc ... but Super EXPENSIVE and of course we pay because we love our pets , but not fair that u go at midnight or like in my case at 2 am and they asked u to pick up ur pet at 7am not exceptions to take it to your regular vet to continue the treatment...Read Less

Very happy to have an Emergency Vet facility close to home. My neighbor's dog had an allergic reaction (we think a bee sting) and we had to take her in right away. The staff was great! Do not go here !!!! Crooks ! Just in it for the money !!! Have a 4 month old lab . He was drooling from the mouth constantly falling down from his back and moaning like his stomach was in pain. Not eating not drinking. They charge me close to 70 dollars just to come out and tell me they either are going to do a parvo test which is 500 dollars !!! Or they can just give him medicine because they say he was just acting nauseous. 125 dollars. Well clearly it's not parvo because he would be throwing up and have diarrhea. Even I know that. So they gave him a couple shots so he would stop feeling sick and sent me on my way. He got worse when I got home. Took him to a different emergency room again off edinger and jamboree and in less than 30 minutes they were great and told me there is something in his stomach the way he is acting . First, I have no complaints about the level of care, the cleanliness of the hospital, or the staff. The reason for only 3 stars is because I think it would be much better if they would recognize that homeless animals need emergency care as well as family pets. From the many references online and by staff to 'your family pet' to the fact their software doesn't allow for a customer to be an organization, this place doesn't seem to be aware of the fact that there are thousands of homeless pets in Orange County and and there are as many people who won't euthanize an animal just because it is homeless. I do know of 2 other 24 hour emergency vets in Orange County who give discounts to non-profit animal rescue organizations who rely on donations to pay for all veterinarian costs. Read Less

We rushed our 7 yr old Jack-Chi terrier to the ER last night, after a terrifying seizure. She has never been ill a day in her life, and had no history of seizures. From the woman handling the front desk, to the immediate tech response, we felt our little one was well attended as they rushed her into the back to begin assessing her. After about a 15 minute nervous wait, Dr. You met with us to explain what tests were needed, and what might be happening. Her blood work was all within normal ranges, chest xrays showed no growths. He explained that she may have had an epileptic seizure, and they would give her Valium and keep her on seizure alert overnight. She had a good night, and although this journey has just begun, we were confident that she had been diligently assessed, comforted by the tech staff on her overnight stay, and treated by a very good doctor. We left well educated in what had likely happened, and how to move forward with her treatment. The staff here are amazing. I brought in a 3 week old kitten that was listless, refusing to eat and very cold. They quickly diagnosed her with aspiration pneumonia, gave her fluids and got her warmed up. While leaving her there was more than I could afford, they got me the antibiotics she needs and detailed instructions on how to care for her. I'm happy to say that so far she has turned around seems to be improving. While she's not out of the woods yet, she has made a remarkable improvement. Read Less

Took my bulldog here for a scratched cornea. When we got there we asked if they had a medication the one and only that we have found to work for this issue of our bulldog because he is very prone to scratching his eye. The vet told us yes we have the medication so we went ahead a went through with the exam. At the end when it came time to get the medicine they said they only had the ointment and not the drops we needed. They also told us they would call there "sister" vet down the street which is not there sister vet and has nothing to do with them, SHADY!! Anyways they were goin to have the prescription written up for us later that day. When we called they said they could not help us out and that we need to bring him back In for another exam. These ppl had a doctor he couldn't even prescribe my pet the correct medicine because he was new and didn't have a prescription pad. This place is extremely shady and for the price there rip you off at you might as well go anywhere else. Our Prince was attacked in our backyard by a coyote at 4:30 am. We thought he woke us up to pee, so we took him in our fenced back yard without knowing a coyote made it over the 6 ft tall block wall. The coyote was small, but managed to to cause some medium lacerations and nick his esophagus. It was horrible! Screaming scared off the coyote, we're lucky it let go of our dog and didnt carry him away. Our little guy is only 10lbs! We rushed him here, and he received the BEST medical attention! DR YU THANK YOU!!! He is so nice, and did everything medically necessary for our Prince. They even gave us his medicine to take home and a can of soft dog food which we didnt have at home. Our follow up with the vet concluded that Prince is recovering nicely. The vet credits DR YU and gave him an A+ for doing everything Prince needed to have done. I can't thank these guys enough. Even the vet assistant here was super sweet and helpful. Yes it was a little expensive, but you can't really pay enough for the convenience of having a place that offers such great care to your pets and stays open all night in my opinion. No amount would have been too great to pay to save our little guy. It was especially comforting to hear from our vet that this clinic got an A+ for their standard of care. Worth every penny. Nice enough to take all the money i had on me, hand my pet back to take home. And as soon as i walked up tobfront door at my house, my cat (Trouble) died in my arms. The tech that brought him out to me carried him in one hand under his chest. The cat went in there in severe respiratory distress. I want to give them a 5 star rating. Twice I've had to come here for tragic reasons of letting my dogs go and end their suffering. The people working here are compassionate and straightfoward. The staff were all nice enough and the environment was clean. The reason for my 1 star review is because they straight lied to me. When I called the first question I asked was there a reptile vet on hand and they said yes. Drove all the way out there for them to tell me almost an hr in that they didn't have a reptile vet. Why lie? Just to get our money. My beardie didn't make it that night. When they gave her back to us about 2 hrs later she was cold as ice. They didn't have her on any heat source back there. I had to have a aged cat put down. They were very kind and sympathetic. The doctor on duty was very nice and explained that putting him down was the humane thing to do as he was suffering from diminished lung capacity and an old heart. I would recommend them. Read Less

**BEWARE OF THIS PLACE** If you can go somewhere else, PLEASE do! BEFORE A SINGLE TEST had even been done on my cat and before they had any clue what was wrong with him, they somehow had an extensive treatment plan available with an outrageous price tag attached to it, to treat him for things that may not even be wrong with him. (One of the "treatments" was available for sale online for $5 and they had the same treatment invoiced for $96.06) At this point it became fairly obvious they were more concerned about lining their pockets, than helping my animal, but no other vets were open and it could not wait. I declined most of the outrageously expensive ADD-ON items that were 100% unnecessary at the time and instructed the receptionist that if more answers were had in the morning, then we could pursue the x-rays and other items, but could not pursue treatments that he didn't need by their own admission. 24 Hours later (my cat stayed the night and I did not receive a single call to update me on my cat this entire time) I go in the morning to see how my cat is doing. Sitting with a different Vet this time, he tells me they still have no idea what is wrong and that his temperature is still DANGEROUSLY high, potentially damaging his organs and putting him near death, as they were unable to do anything to bring it down. I am told they do not have any other treatment options and my ONLY hope would be to get him to a regular Vet ASAP and continue on the SAME TREATMENT they were giving him In the hopes that it would work. Immediately after leaving this place, I took him to a regular Vet that was now open and recommended by a family member. Speaking with the regular Vet, the very first things he asks is, "WHY DID THEY NOT TEST FOR THESE 2 THINGS? THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE VERY FIRST THING THEY CHECKED FOR. I HAVE GONE OVER YOUR CAT'S CHART SEVERAL TIMES AND DO NOT SEE ANY OF THE TESTS THEY SHOULD HAVE SUGGESTED/RAN, FOR THE SYMPTOMS YOUR CAT HAS." He tells me they want to perform these tests that the emergency clinic SHOULD HAVE DONE first thing and he wants to give him a shot to bring down his temperature. After a five minute conversation, I had more answers and solutions than 24 hours and a HUGE sum of money at the Emergency Pet Clinic on Easter. Not only did they not test him for the "obvious potential issues", but the option for these tests and treatments were NEVER EVEN PROVIDED to me. He came in sick and left just as sick! Zero help and zero answers! *THE IMPORTANT PART* 1 HOUR after leaving the new vet, with new tests being done and a new treatment for his fever (NONE OF WHICH WERE OFFERED AT THE CAT CLINIC ON EASTER), my cats fever WAS COMPLETELY GONE! 100% back to a normal temperature and for the most part out of serious danger. How it is possible that a place can have my cat for 24 hours and not manage to get his fever down and tell me there are NO OTHER TREATMENTS AVAILABLE and still charge an insane amount of money, but a new vet can have him for an hour an get this done for a third of the price, IS BEYOND ME! This place is ONLY out for one thing. NOT to help you. Not to help your animal. Not to provide you with the best options for your pet. ONLY TO MAKE AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE FROM YOU AND TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR CONCERNED EMOTIONAL STATE, KNOWING NO OTHER OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE TO YOU. Read Less

I took my dog hear after a choking episode just to make sure everything was ok. My wife was frantic because the whole experience was so scary! Dr. Price is amazing, she was very calming and explained everything well. Our dog ended up staying the night for observation but the prices were very reasonable! We have been to alot of vets and this facility is great. They saved our cat on a previous occasion two years before as well.
