I was rudely told to call back in a month or two to see if they have any openings. Even though my cat is pretty sick and needs to be seen right away. I called to make an appointment because I've heard so many great things about The vet BUT his receptionist was SUPER rude and didn't even schedule me in! I explained how my pet went to a clinic and they had advised us to take her to see a specialist but we don't want to hence we decided to see dr.tang so he can check my dog out since I've heard he's an honest vet. BUT the receptionist kept insisting that he can't see her cause she has to see another specialist for another opinion. I told her a million times that she hasn't seen a specialist and I don't need a second opinion, I just want the vet to check her out but she kept refusing. So SHAME on you receptionist! Best care Pet Clinic is simply the best! I'm lucky enough to get my dog there for her spay and  hernia surgery because Dr. Tang is my husband's vet. They are very busy and sometimes don't accept new patients, so don't get surprised if they can't take your pet...My 8 years old pom recovered really well from the surgery, and you can't tell she had a surgery at all when the stitches were removed two weeks after. Since then, I just fall in love with their team. They even instruct my husband and I what we can do about our pets' problem before we take them to the clinic. I've been taking my dogs to Best Care for the past 10 years. Dr. Tang is an excellent vet. He doesn't try make you pay for unnecessary tests or meds like I have experienced with other clinics. Also, he might sound a bit apathetic at first but he truly cares about the pets under his care. Once I took my dog to his office but got there too late and they had already closed;  he saw me from the parking lot running towards the door freaking out because my dog had bloody diarrhea and did not hesitate to return and help us. I have been bringing all my animals here since I could remember! I truly love Dr. Tang and the staff! Sheila is so sweet and amazingly friendly my our newest family member Maximillion and so is everyone else there! He loves going to vet! The doctor takes his time with all my babies and makes sure they are always doing great plays with them and shows them so much is unbelievable! I truly enjoy coming here every time! I trust them with all my heart and I love that Dr. Tang doesn't over vaccinate for no reason like other places and he doesn't overcharge like other places! Really good place. Dr is very knowledgeable and have years of experiences. My dog had uterus infection and doctor knew right away from symptoms and just touching her. She got surgery that day. Dr. Tang is the absolute BEST! He is a rare find; an ethical, unpretentious, no-nonsense doctor who truly cares about animals and the ultimate well-being of the pets he sees. The service provided here is incomparable to any other vet I've visited, and truly a godsend. Dr. Tang goes above and beyond what it means to provide exceptional care and does everything in his power to accommodate emergency situations. Dr. Tang and their staff are animal lovers.We have been visiting Dr. Tang for about 3 years.  From our experience, Dr. Tang is very reasonable with their charges, and the diagnostics and treatments for the dog are the best we have received for our dog.We once had an emergency, where our dog was vomiting badly.  Their appointment was full.  But when the office staff heard our emergency, they took us in on that Saturday.  Which would've easily saved us from a trip to urgent care, and who knows how much we have saved for the hospital bill.  Nevertheless, Dr. Tang saved our dog's life.  We are very thankful for a very professional and very ethical vet. We had all together 3 dogs and 5 cats with Best Care Pet Clinic. The Doctor is Chinese and over the past 18 years his English got so much better. He still is more a quiet man not of many words but his work speaks value. I was at 3 other Pet Clinics but keep coming back because after all his prices are unbeatable and his work is grate. LOVE THEM. Had a bad experience with another vet who didn't answer any of my questions and wanted my 6 month old puppy to keep coming in for shots he didn't need.When I called this office Linda stayed on the line with me as I asked a thousand questions to make sure he did NOT need to go back to get those shots. Then when I came in to finish up the shots he DID need Doctor Tang was really great. More thorough on the exam than the other place and asked if I had any questions when he was done. I am disgusted by their customer service, never will I take my dog here.I called on October 24th at 8am and it was a guy that picked up so whoever was working at this date and time needs to get a lesson on customer service.My dog had been having bloody diarrhea all night and so in the morning I called and said that its an emergency and the guy(sounding like he just woke up and very rude) said that its appointment only and he can't do anything. After saying please he said I can come in at 2:15 but ill be least priority(which I understand). And then I asked if he has anything before since i had school and he replied "DO YOU JUST WANT TO TAKE HIM SOMEWHERE ELSE" He sounded like he had JUST woken up and definitely did not want to be there. You couldn't find a better vet in my opinion. Dr Tang and his team care deeply for the pets that come through and for the owners. I still think about putting my dog down with Dr Tang present. Never cried harder in my life, but he was so kind about the whole thing and the 2 weeks leading up to it he fielded my calls even though in my heart I knew the writing was on the wall for my dog Hazel.Will never go anywhere else. I have a Shiba, a dog breed which is notoriously difficult at the Vet's office.  Some Veterinarians will even refuse to take a Shiba as a patient. My Shiba is even on the more difficult end of the spectrum of her demanding breed. Best Care is not our normal Vet, but the doctor and the staff where wonderful with our dog.We had to take our dog, Kiki, in to get her ulcerated eye checked out in a hurry.  I told them what to expect with her behavior and the Doctor told be not to worry.  Normally, if anyone but my wife or myself attempts to interfere with Kiki's face, eyes or mouth she would be furiously attempting to bite them.  Pet Care Pet Clinic's Doctor and Staff did an amazing job of controlling and caring for my dog.  There were no incidents, and Kiki got her eye issue checked out and medicated properly.  I can't tell you what a relief it is to have a clinic that can handle my dog while at the same time caring for her.I also appreciated how straight forward the doctor was with my wife and I.  I am of the opinion most Vets have overly congenial bedside manors and are undereducated on current veterinary practices. I laugh when I read that people are pissed because Tang lacks the "warm and fuzzy". I thought that at first too. Tang is grumpy for sure, but he's the best in California. He once took my sick dog home with him over the weekend so he could care for her 24/7. He is also an incredible surgeon. I love tang and I love that his prices are not ridiculous. Every now and then, he says something funny or cracks a smile and I love it. Dr Tang and his staff are all very straight forward, can seem very cold, but they all are great with the animals and I always am in and out when Lola and I come in. I have been going to Dr. Tang for about a year now. I made the mistake of taking a 'convenient' Dr's visit to Banfeild Pet Hospital in Glendale because I had a coupon. Worst decision.. they gave me the wrong prescription for my dog and charged me an arm and 5 legs. The next day my dog was still in a lot of pain. I called in to Dr. Tang's office for an emergency exam and they fit me right in. He examined her and her history, then gave me the correct antibiotic. This place is a joke. I made an account just to write this review. I called because I'm new to the area and was looking for starting a new vet to bring my two cats (because due to the stress of moving they caught colds) As soon as a man answers he sounds completely uninterested. I start asking how much a normal check up would be and he's short answers, I ask him if he's busy or somethings wrong because he sounded quite rude. He then starts going on saying he's busy with the amount of patients he has already and i told them I would make a later appointment but he then just says even then he says he has enough clients. Confused I asked if he was asking me to find another vet and he replied " yeah find somebody else" and hung up. Im very upset by his rudeness; he should've cared for the health of my animals as a professional and not just the fact that he had enough patients filling his wallet. It's very disappointing that I was treated like this when I was just trying to help my cats get better.Read Less

Dr. Tang is the only vet in Los Angeles I trust. Other vet clinics owned by corporations gouge us with high fees and unnecessary procedures. Case in point: a local clinic (I'm not going to name names because the people there are lovely and mean well. It's the company policies that suck) said my dog had a foxtail in his ear and that the operation to remove it would run $350. I got a second opinion from Dr. Tang and he found that the foxtail was in the WRONG EAR!! He removed it right there for $40. No anesthetic for my senior doggie, no invasive useless, expensive operation. I have many other stories but Dr. Tang is the best.Read Less

The Dr. and assistant were very nice and helpful. Got right to work as soon as I got my dog in, might not be so interactive with people but, I can tell he cares for his animals! Maybe the two girls in the front can be a bit more friendly and not so dry when the speak to people, just at least so the first impression can help you feel more cozy and comfortable about the place. Dr. Tang is contracted with the Burbank animal shelter among others, but that is where I was first introduced to him when I got my rescue MAGIC. He has taken great care of Magic of course. Than I adopted a kitten which he did great work on, but I gave the kitten away when I moved last year. SO......I adopted an apparently sick kitten and GUESS what the doctor did for me? He took in the kitten for many days to treat it and get it better (including full exam, blood tests, shots, food, shelter- heating pad, etc..). Well the kitten just was too sick from the shelter I got it from (had a very low white blood cell count). We ended putting Spike to sleep, as Spike kept throwing up and just was suffering.....poor little kitten. So not only did the doctor and his staff make sure to find me another HEALTHY kitten, but he did not charge me a penny! Dr. Tang is not one to smile and tell jokes......He is all business, and that heart he has is one of GOLD. When I came in last week to pick up the new kitten, he not only gave me a free carrier box, but he said if any problems arise with the kitten to bring the kitten in for NO CHARGE to get it back to health. NOW if that is not absolutely a wonderful holiday story, than I do not know what is? Dr. Tang has always been generous. In the past he would offer me items and not charge me.....as if he knew I was having financial difficulties. So one thing I did not tell the doctor this time is that I am going through a tough bankruptcy, so his not charging me (by his own decision) has saved me for this holiday to be able to put food on my table for me and my pets without having to ask for help from family or friends. For all the other people that have commented on here (Good or Bad), Dr. Tang in my eyes is the best Vet. on the planet. Is he human....YES......can any doctor make a mistake? YES....I am quite sure out of all the VETS in Los Angeles, Dr. Tang is in a class of his own (with maybe a few peers) as the highest rated success level for a VET. So I am sorry for some of the angry posts, but I have been going to Dr. Tang for long enough to make a BOLD post indicating how special he is......and every time I go in there have always been many clients..........regardless of a recession people that love their pets will take them to Dr. TANG!!!! I love Bestcare, they really care about my dog. I use to go to VCA Adren in Glendale but I had so many problems with them, the nurses there have a very bad attitude and their prices are outrages. I started taking my dog to Bestcare and I love them! I can't believe I wasted so much time at VCA. Dr. Tang at Bestcare is the best, he is straight forward and he really cares about animals. He will never try to force any procedures on you unlike other clinic that try to force you to nueter your pet. And thier prices are great, so far everytime I've been there the bill has been half of what I would have paid at VCA. Read Less

I brought my cat in because he was in a cat fight and was all torn up on the neck and between the shoulder blades. First, the assistant aggressively picked my cat up with one hand while grasping his wounded area. I told him to stop because that's where the cat is hurt and he's already in a lot pain. The assistant said he had to, walked out of the room with my cat dangling in the air being help by his bloody wounds. Then the vet asked me where he was hurt. He didn't bother looking at the wounds to see if any of them were deep. He just gave my cat a shot of antibiotics and sent us out the room. I would never trust this man with anything. He didn't even act like he cared about animals at all. It was a horrible experience. Read Less

I took my puppy here. A small breed and the vet gave my puppy a dose for a full grown dog. When his face swelled so large that he looked like a cat and he could hardly breath while on the way home I had to turn back and return to the office. The Dr says casually ""oh yeah we gave him to high a dose. Ok we'll give him a steroid shot to counter"". Then asks me to leave him there. NO WAY!I have been taking my dogs there for years. It has been one thing or another with this vet. This was the last straw. His table manners are horrible! He shows no compassion to the animals. Every time I go in I swear I need to find a new vet. That was the LAST time there. Please be careful! I did not leave my puppy there because years earlier I left my parrot there and he called only to tell me in that same monotone voice that he was dead. NEVER AGAIN! I love my pets way too much! I took my Pancho, 6 year old Chihuahua for an eye infection. As soon as the doc walked in, he asked the technician to take his temperature. The thermometer went in and my Pancho went balistic! Instead of leaving the thing in my Pancho's bum, he told the tech to take it out so he wouldn't be any more traumatized. The doc takes a look at my Pancho's eyes and determines that he has an infection of the eyes. I told him that there ws NO way in hell that I could put drops in his eyes, so he gives me pills to sneak in his food. Boy, was I thankful! The last vet office I went to told me that they would have to put Pancho to sleep so they could take a look at his eyes. When they told me that, I was upset! I did not think that was necessary. Not only that, I could only imagine the amount of money it would cost. Mind you, if I had no choice, then ok, lets go for it. I will do anything for my little man!
