Doctor Gray is so kind and soft spoken , she is the sweetest veterinarian. She answered all my questions and didn't rush through our appointment . I know my Poodle Smokie is getting the best care possible when he is in their hands. Prices are affordable and Doctor Gray didn't push any unnecessary diagnostics . Wait time was minimal and the hospital was clean and fresh. All the staff was polite . They are even open on Sunday's which was a huge relief for me . all in all happy with this practice and My senior poodle is lucky to have them . Read Less

I was visiting from out of town and brought my Italian Greyhound in when she had a chronic wheezy cough. After taking x-rays 2 doctors at the clinic misdiagnosed her with congestive heart failure and refused to treat the cough only wanting to put her on heart meds. I wanted a second opinion. After having a cardiologist look at the x-ray, it was determined that there was no evidence of heart failure. The clinic never called me back with the negative results after 4 days and I had to chase them down. Don't go here. Go anywhere else. Read Less

i'm so sorry to say how disappointed i am in this clinic. My dog had a cough and i was told to use a human decongestant, and that it was probably due to the ashen air during the fires, about l 1/2 years ago. In fairness, i can't recall if they offered to take a lung x-ray, but i doubt it. Just last week i received a text message that it is time to have her in for a check up. I texted back that she had crossed the rainbow bridge. NOT ONE WORD OF SYMPATHY. NOT ONE. She had been suffering all along with pneumonia in one lung, which grew to be too much for her. Perhaps it could have been treated, even cured, had antibiotics been given! ? I won't be back. We have a new 15 month old rescue Lab and I found another vet, for SURE~! Read Less

Just dropped my Smokie Bear off for dental work and I couldn't be more impressed . This facility is nice and clean and they ladies working behind the desk were friendly and polite . Kim was the technician who did my intake work and was so sweet and answered all my questions she set my mind at ease. Very happy to have such a loving staff taking care of my pup . LOVE the vets. Dislike the price gouging. We had moved east so Limehouse is the only truly holistic vet we can find on this side of town. Our dog's old chiro would charge $35 per visit. I was shocked to get handed a bill of $160 for our chiro and laser therapy appointment here. The front desk told me they charge an office visit fee with each treatment. ???!!! Why? I wonder if the Dr.s know what the front desk is doing? With needing weekly treatments, even if you could afford it, who would pay this per visit? Every time we come here I have sticker shock. I've been bringing my animals here for over 20 years when Dr.'s Pricilla and John were on Riverside in Toluca Lake.  I've always felt my animals had the very best care and were treated with the utmost respect.  14 years ago when I had to put my Bandit to sleep Dr. John watched the front of the house while Dr. Taylor (Priscilla), Mary (still here) and Brenda were in the room with us as we said good-bye.  3 weeks ago I had to put my Wilson boy to sleep after a short illness and it was Memorial Day Sunday.  I came alone and was not alone when I said good-bye.  Since I've known Mary for over 20 years and she wasn't there on that Sunday she called me Tuesday and we talked for a very long time as she allowed me to express the grief I was feeling.  I've always felt cared for and, more importantly, my animals have always been cared for and respected. I have been here 4 times now twice for my older dog and twice for my puppy. Fair try even after Being disappointed the first time. Their phone skills are just rude, receptionists desk is the same on arrival! At first I thought " bad day" but it's poor people skills! I called for a consultation regarding treatment options for my dog with cancer. Most vets I've spoken with have been kind and upfront about the approaches they take with different types of cancer, so I was pretty disappointed when the woman I spoke with on the phone was short with me, interrupted me during my questions, and then flat out refused to answer my questions and insisted I bring in my animal for evaluation.I am curious and interested in a specific kind of treatment (ascorbic acid) and she said she wasn't allowed to tell me if they offered that therapy at Limehouse. So I asked her what treatments they did offer, and she said, "Homeopathy, acupuncture, herbs and Western Medicine." I had to laugh, because, "That's what it says on your website." Why even bother? If her telephone demeanor was indicative of the program at Limehouse, I encourage you to keep looking in your search for a holistic veterinarian. And if you can recommend one, please let me know! I would highly recommend Limehouse and Dr. Gray for alternative holistic treatments. With just one acupuncture treatment, my dog already seems to be doing better. He has degenerative hip and spine disease  (diagnosed by his regular vet at Media City animal hospital) the med's that he was on for the past four weeks didn't seem to be giving him much relief like they have in the past , so decided to try the holistic route as I would with myself. I will still continue with his regular vet as we have been with them for almost 8 years but will definitely be using Limehouse as well. After taking 2 of my pets there, I'm pretty disappointed in the care I just received. My cat had tests done and I was told that if I felt he needed more treatment to call them back. I gave them a call back and they want more $$ for MORE tests. I was a firm believer in Limehouse but I'm feeling once they moved their office they are looking for $$. I have been a big fan of Limehouse Vet, and bring both of my dogs there.  Since moving to the new location, I do see a decline in service.  I feel that the Dr's are rushed.  I was told that they allow 15 minutes per visit, which isn't much time.  I also notice a hesitancy to really touch, and throughly examine the animals, even when muzzled.  Since reading some of the other reviews (especially the review about the tooth extraction, since I had that done to one of my pets), I plan to follow up with another highly recommended Vet.  I will continue to frequent Limehouse, because the acupuncture treatments are great for my dog;  but I will seek second opinions when it comes to the yearly exam, and important issues. Limehouse Vet Clinic is our home away from home. We have been taking our pup to Dr. Gray since she was 8 weeks old and she is simply the best. Our dog is our pride and joy and she is never treated like anything less than family by the entire staff. We have to make frequent visits because our girl has a lot of allergy issues and occasional GI problems, but Dr. Gray always knows how to get her back to her normal self as quickly as possible. One time just a few months back, our girl was having some heavy respiratory issues and I knew she had to be seen right away. I called and Candice (the office manager) told me to bring her in immediately to be treated. I was met at the door by Candice and one of the vet technicians who quickly got her into an oxygen chamber and stabilized her breathing so some X-rays could be taken to determine what had caused her problem. Thankfully it was nothing serious and she recovered fully in just a few days, but I will never forget how grateful I was to each staff member for dropping everything to make sure my little girl was okay. As a super picky animal owner, and animal caretaker/educator by profession, LHVC was the 3rd or 4th vet I went to after moving to LA 3 years ago. Thankfully, I found them at the right time, when my 1 year old male cat, Vader, had a partial urinary blockage.  They unblocked him just using pain meds, used a laser on his belly for a few days to break up his crystals, and sent us with the herbal tinctures to help keep him peeing.  We went home the same day, he was never hospitalized a single day.  Since then, Dr. Jacqueline Grey has seen both my cats for various issues, ailments, and treatments like acupuncture.  They are always so great and I truly trust her advice and treatment plans. ZERO STARSOur Chihuahua Pug, Charlie, was misdiagnosed in May 2015 by Dr. Gray and staff. He was suffering from osteosarcoma on his spine and when he was seen by your veterinarian, she only prescribed a cranberry diffuser and some vitamins. She diagnosed him with having "emotional stress" due to my pregnancy. We paid $300 just for his lab work, which your office called 3 days later, stating that we would have to pay for new samples because his labs couldn't be used after the third day. Unbelievable. We had already paid your office for visit, useless medications, and lab work that was not even used. I am beyond disgusted with your professional abilities and performance as veterinary practice. We did not receive the proper care or diagnosis and we had already paid over $500 at this point. Luckily for us, Yelp helped us find a caring, decent and respected veterinarian and charged us $60 for his labs and visit. Dr. Svenja Viete from Animal Medical Center properly diagnosed him within 48 hrs, sent us to a oncology specialist and that in turn, allowed our beloved Charlie Bear to enjoy 4 extra months with us, post chemotherapy and improved his quality of life at the end stages. Sadly, he passed in September 2015. I often feel angry at your practice for the careless, unprofessional, and incompetent treatment of Charlie, firmly believing had he NOT been brushed aside or misdiagnosed by a veterinarian or practice, seemingly interested in money and cutting corners, Charlie could have been diagnosed upon his initial visit & survived. I have and will continue to speak the truth about your practice, one that we foolishly trusted and we held in high regard because of other people's referrals. The front desk is so rude and condescending. And this has happened multiple times. The first day I went in to this office the front desk was talking badly about a customer who' had complained about the rudeness and attitude at the front desk. They yell at you and talk over you, I was quoted one price and they keep changing it and adding fees. They are the most rude! They start yelling at you and laughing and they don't even act professional. This place is all about money and not customer service or the health of your precious pet. Stay away! Read Less

The BEST!  We've been seeing Dr. Gray for five years and couldn't love or appreciate her and everyone at Limehouse more.  During that time, we've adopted two seniors and with the help of Dr. Gray and everyone at Limehouse, kept them healthy and happy until 16 and 17 years old through a combination of western and eastern medicine.  When they did take a turn toward the end, we were supported in every way possible and knew we had a true partner in doing the best we possibly could for them.  We're incredibly grateful.  Beyond Dr. Gray, Candice, Mary and truly everyone we deal with (and we're there a lot) are kind, helpful, genuinely caring and very, very good at what they do.  Highest possible recommendation! I would like to share my experience with Limehouse. I had been going there for a year and a half and Dr Gray was our doctor. She loved my dogs and they in turn loved her. Dr Gray practices Western and Eastern medicine which I thought was a good thing. However, last week on Monday evening, my dog's left rear leg became paralyzed and he was in pain. I called Limehouse Tuesday morning and was told Dr Gray was not seeing patients that day but I could see Dr Szymer instead. I was assured by the tech Candace that Dr Szymer would do everything that Dr Gray did. When I brought my dog in Dr Szymer decided without an x ray that he had a pinched nerve and she recommended supplements, acupuncture and laser treatment. I was ok with it because when my other dog fell and hurt her neck the acupuncture and laser worked fine. By Friday my dog was not doing better, in fact he had started to have a problem with his right leg also. Dr Szymer recommended more acupuncture and laser and really wanted me to get another supplement which she was sure would solve the problem. I refused the supplement, had the treatments done and went home. By Sunday he could no longer urinate or walk on either leg. A friend of my daughter's recommended I go to ASG in Glendale. We took my dog there and immediately they knew he had a serious problem. Even the tech was shocked that no x ray had been done and she thought she knew what the problem was. My dog had compressed discs. They should have been taken care of within 48 hours of paralysis. The longer you wait the more likely the chance of permanent paralysis. The waiting causes increased swelling of the spine and nerve damage.  Everyone had ASG said "decompressed disc" as soon as they saw his legs and of course the x rays and  ct scan confirmed it. Dr Szymer never even mentioned compressed disc and only wanted my dog to have a supplement. Fortunately I went to ASG. We don't know if my dog will get back the use of his legs yet. I do know that if as Candace at Limehouse said, "Dr Szymer will do everything that Dr Gray would" it does not say a lot about Dr Gray either. I do not wish to see any other animal misdiagnosed and put through the pain and suffering that my dog is going through.And now I have even more to add to this review. I first went to Limehouse in January of 2015 to have my dog's teeth taken care of. Unfortunately, it was not a job well done. On 11/10/16-He had to have 23 teeth removed along with a mass in his mouth. His teeth were so bad that there was an infection spreading into the bones in his mouth. I am in utter disbelief by everything that has happened to my poor little baby all due to gross negligence by everyone at Limehouse including Dr. Gray. She might be a lovely person and really love animals but she does not do a good job of diagnosing or treating them as evidenced by my dog. Read Less

Took a dog in for a friend of mine. Our appointment was at 10:15. The receptionist said hi when I checked the dog in and told me she would see if there's a room free. Sat in the waiting room till 10:40. I had to go back out and ask the receptionist if someone was coming in to actually look at the pet. She said someone would be right there but wasn't really apologetic and just furthered my irritation. The doctor finally comes in at 11 and we talked for about 5 minutes before figuring out a treatment plan. The doctor was Dr Shepherd. She was great. Waited another 35 minutes for an estimate. I went out of the room and asked a different receptionist if someone was going to be bringing the estimate. She was really rude and walked away from me. Finally the tech came in, Claudia or Candice I think her name was, she was really nice as well. She asked me if something happened up front. Which just lets me know that the receptionist was complaining about me. I was going to start using these guys as my main vet but after the long wait times and terrible customer service from the receptionist I will never take my animals here or give this place a dime. Thank goodness... We finally found our permanent vet! I took my 11-year-old husky mix Dakota in for a wellness exam yesterday. She appeared to be in great health, but I wanted to get her a checkup since she hadn't been to a good vet in a while, and after a HORRENDOUS experience with the money-hungry vet at Berkley Pet Hospital who I believe purposely misdiagnosed my dog in an effort to swindle $350 out of me, I knew I needed to find a vet I trusted in case of future illness. As soon as I met Dr. Gray, I knew I found exactly that!Since I prefer to take a holistic approach with my own health, I figured I should do the same with my dog's. For humans, this can cut costs if you know what you're doing, but holistic vets usually cost a lot more. I was concerned about that because I'm a broke ass musician, but I was so glad to hear that that would not be the case here. Your first exam is $81, but after that they go down to either $50 or $55 (can't remember exactly what they said), which is totally normal. I also did blood work and a heartworm test because she hadn't had that since her adoption exam, which was $165 + $35 for the heartworm test. I might have been able to get it done elsewhere for less, but my extremely anxious dog was so comfortable here, I swallowed the couple bucks. Honestly, I'm actually amazed by how calm she was once in the exam room. She was antsy at first, partly because there was a big huge dog barking at her while we were waiting, but everything after that was incredible. When Dr. Gray came in, Dakota just said hi and laid back down. She was relaxed the whole time, thinking she was getting pets when she was actually being examined! So impressed with the Dr's calm energy. I also had a lot of questions and she thoroughly answered all of them, never made me feel rushed, and didn't push anything on me. I opted not to do a couple things because I couldn't afford them at the moment and she didn't make me feel bad about it. She even told me the ingredients of a nose balm they sell (my dog has a crusty cracked area on her nose) so I could use things I already had instead of dropping extra money. To me, that's a sign of a truly caring and understanding vet--If I don't buy things that aren't necessary for my dog, that means I have more money to spend on things that ARE, or on things I can't make myself. I am so appreciative of that!In short, Limehouse is the animal equivalent of what I want out of a human doctor for myself. I actually left thinking "man, I wish I was a dog so I could go here!" Lol. I lived in Los Angeles for 24 years and for the last 8 of them I was privileged enough to meet Dr. Gray when she was at another clinic.  She is exactly the type of person you want taking care of your fur babies...kind, caring, smart, gut instincts with both Eastern and Western medical practices, and has the compassion and bedside manner necessary when dealing with this neurotic pet parent.  She was my only vet for my 4 babies, my fourth is actually my Tallulah that I adopted at her previous clinic in North Hollywood, from a litter they had rescued, treated and cared for through adoption. See what I mean??!!  Not all about the $$$!!  To this day, when I have a serious problem with my babies, I call her and she is ALWAYS there to help and her advise is spot on.  Now...if only I could transport her... Dr. Gray has been invaluable to us and our family. We had an older dog that was treated by Dr. Gray and staff. His final year was spent without pain or anguish because of the holistic treatment that he received from Dr. Gray and staff. More important, Dr. Gray did not ask us to waste money on useless blood tests and/or additional studies like previous vets that had treated our animal. Yet, she stayed in constant contact with specialists, assuring that my baby's needs were always the top priority. The passing of our dog was devastating to our family, but the staff at Limehouse did everything in their power to remind us that our pup was well loved. I have been to numerous vets throughout the area and I have never worked with a more professional staff than at Limehouse. The care is far superior to any other vet office and I strongly recommend this Clinic to all of my friends and family. This is the place to go if you are looking for compassionate vets with expertise in Eastern and Western medicine. Limehouse is fantastic! The new location is cute and clean. The front desk staff are friendly and knowledgeable. And the vets! I cannot say enough good things about them. My cats have been seen by almost all of them and each one has been kind, professional, and caring. They are very good about explaining what's going on and what options I have for helping my cats feel better. I love that they have homeopathic options and don't try to push unnecessary pharmaceuticals, but will prescribe a drug if that's what's best. Yesterday, my one cat had an emergency and I called toward the end of business hours. They let me come right in, saw him right away, and gave me what I needed to make him comfortable. Amazing and courteous staff. I've taken my dog to see 3 of the vets at the clinic and found all of them to be knowledgeable and caring. Also love that they are holistic clinic, so they offer acupuncture and laser therapy. Prices are reasonable for a vet clinic. Most holistic vets charge 3-4 time more. Dr Jackie Gray is the kind of person you want caring for your furry family member. I started taking my dogs to her in 2000 when she was first starting acupuncture. I followed her to her own practice, and even though I moved to NY in 2004, I STILL call her when uncertain. She is always there with a calming voice and great advice. Before I moved away, this was where I brought my little Tabby boy, Joel Franklin. There was something about Dr. Limehouse that was calming to my furkid. While he would NOT allow me to give him his Clavamox, he LET Dr. Limehouse do acupuncture on him! The area that needed the needles was on Joel's forehead and around his eyes. He just sat quietly while Dr. Limehouse placed the acupuncture needles. This place was so good that pet parents used to bring their furkids in FROM OUT OF STATE! Dr. Jackie Gray learned acupuncture from a good source so I'm sure she is wonderful and if The Bill Foundation & Annie Hart use her for their furkids then that is indeed a good reference. The good care isn't ever cheap. There were times that I had to take Joel someplace else due to the hour or if it was a dire emergency and travel time was an issue. Though other clinics were cheap, the remedy only fixed the symptoms and one place even wanted to PTS my little boy for having FUS :p ! Scary. Thank goodness, I knew better and brought Joel to Dr. Limehouse who fixed the problem. Joel Franklin is STILL going strong, is STILL with me and he will be 17 y.o. in July '14! If you love your furkid, get the good treatment, the one that works, the one that will solve the problem instead of a cheap quick fix that only treats the symptoms. 1/7/2016. Once again, Dr. Gray comes to the rescue. This time a house call. One of our cats is very sick and unfortunately is semi feral so no way could I capture her to take her to the clinic. Dr Jackie Gray is in the process of purchasing Limehouse Vet Clinic from Dr Limehouse -- due to Dr Limehouse's planned retirement. For years Dr. Gray has had a traveling practice - where she comes to the home. We have been using Dr Gray for everything from accupuncture, to diet and nutrition, and to all kinds of new and alternative therapies. For instance, our otherwise healthy femaleTibetan Mastiff could barely walk due to arthritis, and all therapies had a limited effect until we decided to spend the money on a series of stem cell injections. While our dog isn't ready to run a marathon - she is at least 100% better. When she used to avoid getting up at all costs-- she now gets up and roams the fence line 'patrolling' her turf like she did 5 years ago. Many vets might not be open minded enough to consider something like stem cells. Dr Gray laid out the costs (under 2 grand when all was said and done) and we decided to try it. Now I can't wait for it to be approved for humans (and at a reasonable cost)- so I can get it in my knees. So, those who appreciate holistic vets will find Dr Gray fits the bill. She absolutely is not mired in any 50's-60's style old fashioned conservative Vet practices that push drugs and put animals to sleep if they get a hangnail. Also, all the stuff about the gay marriage vote and the Limehouse's support is upsetting to many people -- which I totally understand. However, Jackie Gray did not contribute to this cause. To 'punish' her for something she did not do would be unfair. I think anyone who really loves their animals - straight, gay, married or single -- will find Dr Gray is a GREAT Vet. Read Less

I love the earthy feel of the clinic, the happy receptionist and the other clients who came and went through the waiting area who just added to the already happy environment which is Limehouse Veterinary Clinic. They have answered every question I have ever had with ease, and everything they have ever suggested to me or shared with me has worked and has helped educate me better on how to take care of my Cats on my own (which is nice). My Cats are healthy, happy and full of life. I see my Vets like family, as they are always always willing to answer a quick question over the phone or in person with a quick visit. My Cat Hero had an upset stomach and loose stool. I was worried, but they quickly put my mind at ease in giving me a suggestion to do a natural cleanse with rice and meat for 1 week. If he still had an upset stomach to bring him right in. The cleanse did the trick and I didnt have to put him on antibiotics. I REALLY appreciate their natural approach to [Holistic] medicine, and medicating only when necessary (which are far more mild medicines if they do)- rather than medicate from the very start because its easier which is what the local vet clinics do. I have just learned that Dr Limehouse and his wife, Dr Taylor, were both contributors in support of Proposition 8 (verified by the online list of donors).
