They are the best animal hospital I've ever been to & I've been to quite a few in California & Oregon. My dog also loved it there, & he is a huuuuge spook & extremely nervous around strangers (even around fellow animal lovers & dog owners) the fact that he responded soooo tremendously well was a solid gold confirmation of the entire experience being the perfect place. The prices on everything too- from the consultation to the tests medicine & treatment- was more than competitive with other reputable clinics & even still with unbelievably reasonable prices. Great help they gave the shots to my pug he was 16 weeks and 6 days. we took his shot today. i tought we were gonna wait like 5 hours but it was only like 15 minutes. there really fast but they had 2 dogs to get there nails trimmed and they took one each. idk why they coulden't have taken both. but they also gave a lot of imformation of how to keep my dog healthy. it's my first time going to a vet and i had great experience. Today was my first time here. I recently got a puppy Schnauzer and after much research, I've decided on this place, due to all the good reviews. I'm so glad I did because both my puppy and I love this place! There was a bit of a hiccup in the beginning when they didn't have me in their appointment system. I called on Sunday, left a voicemail, and someone from the clinic called me back Monday morning to set up the appointment for me on Friday. But when I went, Rene, the super nice front desk lady told me she didn't have me in their system for an appointment today,  but despite their busy schedule, she managed to squeeze me in between. I'm so grateful for that! After chatting with her, she told me there are a few new people at the clinic and my appointment must've not been recorded. But it worked out, thanks Rene! Once my puppy and I went inside for the exam, Jackie was super helpful and gentle. I can tell my puppy liked her a lot! Dr. Jennifer Chang was the doctor we saw today and she was also super gentle, caring, professional, and knowledgeable! We did a routine exam, the DHP-P shot, and a Sentinel Spectrum. I can't say much about the prices, because I've never been to any other animal clinic, but I think they're pretty reasonable, especially for the outstanding service we received from the staff! Because this was my first puppy, I compiled a whole list of questions to ask the vet, and both Dr. Chang and Jackie were super patient and knowledgeable in answering all of my questions. The doctors and vet techs  are great. Everybody is normally very friendly but today when I was there the front desk person receptionist was not very friendly towards me. When I checked in I said hi and she just looked at me and with no response,  When I was done paying my bill I said Thanks and she just handed me the receipt and said nothing back again. This morning my little furry son woke up feeling not so good... and being such a little guy it even worries me more.  He wasn't holding down food or water and once he looked at me with his little ears back and big ol helpless brown eyes I wasn't going to just rely on pedialite.    Thankfully; when I called they had an opening and I was able to get him right in.   The two females working the front desk were very nice... and had so many compliments to give my little man.   (He's used to this from the ladies)   The vet gives you a few options and suggestions on what steps to take first.   They also call to check up on your little baby... a week later and my little man was back to normal. After trying a few other animal hospitals this has become my go to one for my dog. I never have trouble getting an appointment and the vetinarians along with their staff is always friendly with me and the animals. They always get right down to the point and prices are very reasonable on the visit, medication and food. They don't overcharge and take advantage. I like how they have more than one vetinarian there so if you can't get in to see one there is always one available. I also like too that whenever my dog is sick or has a problem they actually go out of their way and call to check up on your pet to see your pets progress rather than other clinics that never call or even remind you of anything. Been going to this place for years and have never experienced any problems until my recent visit. The staff-Vanessa needs to take a class on customer service. She became very rude when I was trying to discuss the issues I had. Long story short-she messed up my dogs haircut, didn't disclose office visit fees, I paid for a flea dip/bath and paid for expensive flea medicine and I was told that the medicine works well and my dogs shouldn't have fleas up to 3 months, and both of my dogs still have fleas since the day I brought them back from Clinic! Talked to the doctor there and was just referred back to Vanessa.This has turned into a nightmare and it is very upsetting and I feel like I gave my money away. I had been going to this Elwood Clinic for quite a while with my three kitties and really never had any huge problems with them until the day I took my sick kitty to see Dr. Huang.  They took him back to do some tests and finally called me into the room.  When I went in the doctor already had him back in his carrier and said he was fine.  I commented  that he wasn't fine or I would not have brought him in and that he had gained a pound in a month but yet he was hardly eating or moving around.  She just said we would see what the tests said and sent me on my way.  About five hours later I could tell he was not doing well and had to take him to the emergency vet about 8pm.  Elwood was closed by then.  The place I took him did some quick tests and found he had a huge tumor and that he was very sick.  As tramatic as it was, I needed to have him put down. This was on a Friday and Elwood was notified by my sister early Monday what had happened and to cancel the tests from the blood they had taken.  Later, I was sent a bill from Elwood for the tests they had done and I refused to pay it.  I sent them a letter telling them why I shouldn't pay it and they did not even acknowledge it.  Later they turned me over to the credit bureau for non-payment,  I had A+ credit so it didn't do much to my credit report but I felt that they had really dropped the ball on the way that they handled the whole thing.  Needless to say, I will never use them again with my current kitty. I visited this office after reading the positive reviews.  I recently had my dog spayed.  Aside of waiting in the exam room for 20 minutes before the vet came in; I was extremely pleased with the initial examination.  The vet was thorough in examining my pet.  I now understand why the wait took a bit longer.  After the surgery, I was called by a staff member asking how my dog was doing.  This place actually cares.  They are fair with their prices.I will recommend Elwood Animal Clinic to anyone!!! wow i have a 2 year old german shepherd. 125 pounds. 5'5" when he stands on his hind legs. he barks at people & it can be scary.  so i took my dog here because his right eye had been red for 3weeks & he had rashes. but i am so amazed by this clinic & their vets!! dr. lee was veryyyy patient & was not phased by my dogs mean sounding barks. he was able to look at my dogs eyes & skin when other vets before in different clinics had been too afraid to even go near him. but dr. lee had no problem with it. i can tell they study & learn about animal behavior. i will definitely continue to take my dog here for any of his medical needs! i loved it & thank you!! Place has the best doctors in the world well maybe that's an overstatement but they are really good doctors. The manager Vanessa is my problem. She embarrassed me in front of an entire room of clients by refusing to take my ATM card and telling me I had to pay cash only. My husband had to come home from work early to get the cash and bring it down there of course I couldn't leave without paying. There was no warning about this I was done seeing the vet and I was told she could not take my ATM card. The reason is a $37 check bounced I had changed bank accounts. I had been going there many years I seldom if ever bounce checks anywhere. Of course I made good on it but they still cannot except anything but cash for me even three years later when I called she told me this! I miss the doctors but I can't wait till Vanessa goes somewhere else. I am middle class I own a house in Glendora and one in Laverne. I have never been so humiliated and my dogs have to suffer by not having good medical attention because of this. No I do not want to go to the bank and take out $1000 and then find out the bill is $1001 or I have to take 300 back to the bank. When you're dealing with a vet it is practically impossible to use cash. You never know how much it's going to be I don't like carrying large quantities of cash on me. You like to think you have a good relationship with your vet. One bounced check and I'm out of there? Maybe they have too many clients and people should stop going there. Wow!  I loved these guys.  The clinic was very clean and they were ableto fit my dog in when I called for a last minute appointment.  The staff was very nice; they cleaned up my dog's infection, gave him a shot and sent me home with antibiotics, all for what would have cost twice as much at my previous vet.  I asked how much a routine exam was and it was also about half the cost I had been paying.  They are professional and they were very gentle with my dog.  Looks like we found a new vet!! The staff and Dr. Chang at Elwood are great! Brought our Frenchie puppy in for an emergency due to diarrhea a week after bringing her home, and decided to make this our clinic.You can tell the doctor, nurses, and staff genuinely love animals and love their jobs.Dr. Chang really makes herself available to answer the tons of questions we had as new puppy owners with patience and kindness.I haven't been to other vets so can't really speak to their pricing point but it seems reasonable to us.They are pretty decent about keeping appointment times - haven't had to wait more than 10 mins past my appointment the times we went. Both Dr. Chang & Dr. Huang have seen Leon, my dog. The first time, Leon was bit by a rattlesnake and I was told that nobody around the The SGV carried the anti-venom.Not knowing what to do I began calling every single doctor that popped up on google until I called Elwood Animal Clinic. To my surprise a sweet girl named Angel answered the phone and she told me they did, she begged me to quickly rush him to them and I did. Once I arrived, Angel was waiting for me at the door and Dr. Chang was also ready to help me. They rushed him inside and told me they were gonna do everything they could to save him. One of the other assistants took the time to comfort me and promised me that Leon was in good hands. I couldn't believe what was happening because Leon is my first pet and I was simply a hot mess. Long story short, Leon was saved and under their care for three days. And yes, the bill was high but it was all worth it. They worked with me so I could do monthly payments and if I'm still right you can do payments on any bill over $500. Today, we went back because Leon had an ear infection and he was treated with so much patience and care. I forgot to mention that Leon had a rough upbringing and when I took over him he was already aggressive. Today, Dr. Huang took the time to calm him down, checked his ears, applied the medication, taught me how to do it myself, ALL while he was was acting up. Her two assistants were also very helpful. ( Fatima and another young girl with blonde hair were the ones helping). My baby girl Paris just received her first surgery at this clinic and we have to say that Dr. Vincent did such a great job, and our family really appreciated for everything. He explained every single detail and answered our questions patiently.My fiancé has taken Paris to several animal clinics in San Gabriel valley, and he said Dr. Vincent is the nicest and most patient vet he's ever met, and the price here is reasonable unlike others charged us three, four thousand dollars on the same surgery we just had here. Unfortunately today my dog of 17 years had a seizure and was in excruciating pain and we decided it was time to put her down. Two of my friends had mentioned this clinic so I had the number ready for when I needed it. Called at 3pm and asked if there was anyway a vet could see our Sparkle and the lady on the phone said there were no appointments but would be able to make some time for us, so we headed on over. The paperwork was easy to fill out and they called us in right away. The vet and her assistant were the sweetest people ever. They explained everything and answered all our questions. Even though we didn't have an appointment they let us take our time with Sparkle and when we were leaving the entire staff extended their condolences to us. We were given a candle and a lovely poem. Next week we will be given her ashes in a personalized box and a clay paw print. This was such a painful moment but the staff here made it a lot more easier for us. Thank you to everyone here! Elwood Clinic charged my 84 Year old Mother $311.00 for a "MISDIAGNOSIS"!! Told her that her dog had a "Low Grade Infection" and gave her a bottle of antibiotics and discharged the dog. The Dog suffered greatly and the following day, we brought it to a different vet who correctly diagnosed the dog with "severe diabetes" and a cancerous tumor on its pancreas. He kept the dog overnight at his clinic where the dog passed away. He charged my Mother just $395.00 for everything, including, all the tests, overnight stay, and cremation. Read Less

My family and I have been going here for 15+ years, ever since my first dog. Fast forward to 2015, we've have taken 7 different dogs there and will continue to go there. Initially, my mom went to this animal clinic because there were Chinese doctors as she doesn't speak English and they were the closest to us. They aren't the cheapest, but they make up for it with quality results whether its just a basic check to major surgery. Any situations that comes up with any of our dogs, we know they have our backs. We have and have had Maltese, Labradors, and Rottweilers so its good to know that there is animal clinic close to us that is knowledgeable with multiple breeds. They also do bath and boarding and is cheaper than most places. They charge a little extra for any pets that have special requirements like daily medications. Everybody is super nice, accommodating, and you can tell they love animals. I love it when I see them give my pets some love. Overall, I recommend this animal clinic. We have went to other animal clinic, including Banfield Pet Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga, and this animal clinic blows them all away! P.S. This animal clinic is where my baby was born! Years ago my family had a darling dalmatian, and for her whole life this is the only place we took her. For fifteen years we took her here for normal checkups, neutering, surgeries and everything else. As her health went down, they checkups were more frequent and they always were courteous. Beware of taking your beloved pet in for surgery, More than likely you pet will become more ill or be worse off. I took my dog in for a simple castration and ended up paying close to 3 thousand in medical bills. Needless to say that the procedure was poorly done. My dog developed an infection and severe fever and the area that was suttured became so swollen it was the size of a big greatfruit. It was painful to see my Min. Poodle in so much pain.
