My dog was seen by a vet there for a mass, it got worse over the course of 3 months. I made an appt with an oncologist, when i called the Nv Clinic to ask for his record the girl told me she had no record of us ever being there. We have always come here to this veterinarian clinic to see Dr. Bender. The staff here is super friendly and are truly animal people that provide quality service. The care is compassionate that is why we have come here for number of years.I took my newest addition to our pride to get his second round of vaccines. The vet Technician that was handling us was really sweet in allowing him to walk around the office since he is a curious little kitty. While we sorted out what has been done already and what needed to be done she gave him a handful of kitty treats to help sooth him a little. We will continue to take the members of our pride here! Not the best place to take your beloved pets. They have at least 5 staff when I visited the place last Monday, and only one was friendly. The rest were so icy. To those of you complaining they dont see emergency walk ins-theyre a day practice-meaning yes they can see them but they are limited on what they can do there fore expecting them to perform miracles is pointless..when you have an emergrncy just like with humans logically its best to take them to emergency facility and then follow up with the regular vet..That being said as a former employee and furbaby owner they are amazing! I didn't like it here, neither did my cat. He never usually makes a fuss but when I took him here, the Dr. Wasn't really friendly or personable at all. The front desk didnt even pay any attention to me up until the moment i needed to pay the bill. I was trying to ask questions about pricing since my cat needed some dental work, and he wouldn't even give me a rough estimate of numbers until I paid for many other things on the list. Just give me the price, that's it. Simple enough. They definitely need some schooling in customer service. I also want to warn you, to not come here if you love your pet. ZERO STARS. Please read this, THIS PLACE KILLS animals. My dog was rushed to this office because it is the closest one to my home. They seemed great, caring and concerned at first because they rushed her in. She had multiple wounds from being attacked by another dog. DR. BENDER!!!!! Was the one who saw her. When he saw her he told me to leave her there for a couple of hours..before I left however, I asked him if I would need to put her down or if she was going to require surgery since she looked to be in a very bad condition. He told me that he believed she had a great chance of survival and to leave her there for a couple of hours and call back at four thirty. When I called back he said he was cleaning her wounds and that later the staff would call me. Well they called me, AND WHEN I ARRIVED in the room I asked the Dr Bender all the right questions, I even have a witness. I asked what her chances of survival would be, if she needed surgery, if I would have to put the dog down. He said her chances of surviving would be greater than average. He gave me options, stating I could take her to an overnight clinic since they do not do overnight care or I can take her home and watch for breathing complications and to bring her first thing the next morning. I asked if the wounds were serious and he said they were "NOT LIFE THREATENING" I trusted this doctor and when he told me that I could take her home and to watch out for breathing complications his staff members handed me my dog and she was still bleeding. I feel horrible because I should of known better, but neither one of the staff members seemed to even care she was still dripping blood. Why would you hand me back a dog who is still bleeding..? I trusted the doctor. My dog died not even three hours later in my arms in my house. I couldn't even make it to the ER because she stopped breathing out of nowhere after coughing up blood. ... when they called me the next morning not only was Todd the staff member very rude and telling me I didn't understand what the doctor said, but we went at it over the phone and he tried to make me feel incompetent. It gets worse. Then the doctor has the audacity to call me and in the middle of the argument when I say that his staff members should of known better he nonchalantly and RUDELY SAYS "whatever". I was so heated, "whatever" so rudely and un sympathetic. I hung up on this sorry excuse for a veterinarian. These people hold themselves accountable for absolutely NOTHING. This was my experience and I have a witness. Go there if you'd like but If you want your dog to live i highly suggest you DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE. I still feel horrible about the four hundred dollars he charged me for treatment when it was obvious she needed to be put down. I don't mind paying money if it is for the RIGHT course of treatment. She suffered seven horrible agonizing hours due to the negligence of this incompetent Doctor... please do your research and have an emergency qualified vet ready... I never wish this upon anyone. :(. Thank you Dr Choi and staff!  We had a difficult decision to make regarding our dog, Harley, but the staff at North Valley Vet were so compassionate and understanding that we will always take our pets here.  Dr. Choi has such a gentle way with animals and gave us all of the options available without trying to oversell tests and procedures.  He listened and gave us the best treatment option for Harley, but when that did not provide any improvement, he was honest about Harley's quality of life. I highly recommend Dr Bender to everyone who has a loved pet. Our family dog was recently attacked by another dog and the injuries were very severe. Our dog would have died without the emergency care Dr Bender and his staff provided. Dr Bender came in on his day off to provide emergency surgery without hesitation since the other attending doctors found the case too complicated. He was in surgery for 3 hours and the surgical repair was intensive. Dr Bender was very precise with the repair and the stitches look so clean. He was also so efficient with infection prevention. Words can not explain how much we appreciate Dr Bender and his staff for saving our Odie's life.Prices are also the lowest in town. I was expecting to pay 4 times the amount they charged due to the emergent situation. Special thanks to the Clinic Manager Todd. He was so compassionate providing emotional reassurance to my family and I. He was truly helpful calming our anxiety and stress through this whole ordeal. Read Less

This vet hospital is the worst. Do not go here. If you think your animal will be taken care of here you will be wrongly misguided. We took our animal in to this hospital for simple x rays for her arthritis and she came back worse than before. When they gave her the anesthesia and came back home she was not the same. Something was very medically wrong with her mentally and physically. That night she went temporarily blind, had multiple seizures, and had to be rushed to emergency. When contacting this vet office they stated that she might have a tumor in her brain but her physical appearance before had been fine. When going through tests the emergency clinic told us that she may have been overdosed by this office. When we contacted this vet office to tell them what happened they wiped their hands clean of it. She saw Dr. Bender, who stated they didn't have the anesthesia they gave her written on her chart; however, when we called back they magically said it was written down. Now, at least 1,800$ later they deposited our check for that visit even when we asked not to. This office could care less about animal's care and their patients. So if you are new to this area DO NOT GO HERE! It is the worst possible vet hospital I have been to. The least they could have done is not charged us for their over dose of our dog. But because they lack so much respect in themselves and practice they did not. Read Less

I have been coming to this office since 2004. I haven't found an office that treated me and my dogs like family. The prices are very affordable compared to other places. I have introduced many friends to this place and they are still there till today.The staff is very friendly! The vets get the job done at such a reasonable price and are very compassionate! I've been taking 2 generations of pets to this place and will continue to take my animals here. I feel the staff actually cares (which they showed when we received a hand written letter after we had to say good bye to our family dog).I just took my other dog in today for an ear problem, turns out it's probably just water but I was prepared to spend money I didn't have on any medicine they would have recommended... Which one of us wouldn't to help our fur babies? Anyway.. I've been to lots of different veterinarians in the past and always feel like they try to up sell me anything, making me feel like a terrible puppy parent if I can't afford and have to decline. I finally found my new vet! I've tried a few different vets the past couple of months and I LOVED this place. I went to another vet right before I came here and I was unhappy with the other place because they kept giving me services I didn't need and wanted to charge me over $500. So I leftand came here because it was close to my house. I was sooooo impressed with their prices but more importantly, they straight up told me I didn't need to remove his lump of fat (which would cost me soooooo much money) and they also recommended that I hold off on the X-rays (he was limping) until after we see if the anti-inflammatory pills worked. They saved me so much money and didn't recommend unnecessary services. I recommend Dr. Habib. She sat on the floor with us and you could tell she loved animals. This is my new vet. THANK YOU DR. If there were an option for no stars I would select it.THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU BRING YOUR PUPPY HERE. I normally see Dr. Bender but since I visited for my puppies vaccinations this is the 2nd time Dr. Hall prescribed medication for my puppy, BUT THIS TIME IT COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY. I came in for my puppies 2nd set of vaccinations. They were suppose to do a sanitary cut, NOT DONE, the assistant almost forgot to give her the Parvo shot. Because I know she's allergic to this shot I premeditated her with Benadryl.I asked them to check her ears. 1st the doctor couldn't use the instrument correctly then when she did she said she had some inflammation in her ear. I brought her to get her shots and the assistant almost forgot to give her the shot??????? Can you focus please and READ HER CHART? DO YOU HAVE A CHART??????Let me preface this by saying IM A PHARMA REP AND I KNOW THAT DOCTORS LOVE TO PRESCRIBE MEDICATIONS. BBYT AT ALL TIMES THEY SHOULD BE PRESCRIBED TO FIT THE DIAGNOSIS.If you know that my puppy has a history of being allergic to a vaccination why in The world would you prescribe PREDNISONE FOR A SIMPLE EAR INFECTION?I thought the medication was rather serious considering my puppies history and that she does not have a disease.I gave her 1/2 of the dose recommended by the doctor and she threw up and had diarrhea and Blood in her stool. I called back to complain and asked for a refund and was told that they don't do refunds. It's not about the refund it is about your lack of empathy for your over medicating my puppy AND SHE NOW HAS BLOOD IN HER STOOL. SO PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE BRINGING YOUR BABY HERE AND DEFINITELY DO YOUR RESEARCH ON ANY AND ALL MEDICATION PRESCRIBED AS MEDICATION SHOUL ONLY BE GIVEN IN SERIOUS LIFE THREATENING CIRCUMSTANCES NOT A SIMPLE EAR INFECTION THAT COULD EASILY BE HEALED WITH MEDICATED EAR DROPS. Honestly the worst experience I've ever had. I never thought that I would post a negative review for any business but the way that I was treated by this facility,  I would never want anyone else to have to experience the same horrible experience that I had, so I must speak the truth. I had mentioned to my friend who is over at the time that I needed to schedule as an vet appointment for my two dogs. AIthough i had gone to the same veterinarian ever since they were born, My friend had suggested that I contact North Valley to find out how much they charge for vaccinations and exams, so together we decided to call over the phone on speaker and were told they had a special offer for an exam and vaccinations for $45, so I scheduled on appointment and when I got my confirmation call, I wanted to double check on the price to be sure I bought enough funds with me . After the less than five minutes examination her dog and vaccinations I received a quote for almost $500 for teeth cleaning services and shocking to my surprise a bill that was twice as much as I was quoted over the phone. When I was asking the reception about the charges she said that she would have to talk to her manager, the manager had came out  rudely and told me that what I have told the receptionist was ridiculous and that no one would have ever quoted me that amount of $45 per dog, he went on to say in a very demeaning way that I must have went to the wrong Clinic, I tried to assure him that I had just made the appointment the day before and was at the right location but he didn't let me talk and walked away. I was most definitely intimidated and was quite upset that he didn't even let me talk, ask questions or explain what had been falsely advertised to me by their staff.  Quite upset... I had paid the amount that I brought with me and receptionist had said that Todd would be giving you a call to discuss the matter. After just getting off the phone with Todd, I really feel absolutely disgusted not only did he not saying that I was wrong and incompetent he also did not want to hear me out but rather he had said that he would send me to collections if I had not paid the remainder of the bill. I tried to explain to him exactly what was told to me and that I also had a witness that heard the same by saying that I had heard over the phone. I understand if services are rendered services should be paid for but I would never have went to this clinic if I wasn't quoted a certain amount and to top it off to be treated in such a horrible way. He was actually yelling at me, very professional. They are completely unprofessional, corrupt & and big bullies. They are not to be trusted! I wasn't even satisfied with the veterinarian overall either nor the facility itself. Educate your staff and try to listen to your clients is my advice to you. My pet has been at this office ever since I've got her. Dr. Bender is good and his staff is great as well. My dog got a food poisoning and I decided to take her in to get checked out the next day, she was active and had no visible signs of illness. Office has a part-time vet who works there, unfortunately we were being taken care of by her, tall blonde vet. Break down of the bill she brought me suggested that I will have to spend $400 dollars. She included services in the bill that were outrageous and not necessary (and I know it because I have health care education). To which I straight out told her, "my dog has diarrhea and we are here to treat that, it's a food poisoning and I have only $150 in the budget to spend". Break down of the bill was approximately this:$100 for blood test$50 for pancrease test$50 for injection (antiemetics)$50 for office visit$50 for antibiotics to take home$40 for IV fluidsextra $ for to take home special RX foodsand offered extra $50 antibiotics injection to start offAfter my refusal, she said she will try to figure it out.. turns out prices of these services were fabricated on the spot. Doctor decided to take my pet into another room for a pancrease test $50 dollars, and when bringing dog back she told me "your dog has blood in her stool" to try to convince me into more of these costly services. It was a complete lie, I had been around my pet the whole night and following day, I inspect her stools and there was no blood before or after the visit.It is unfortunate that vet professionals try to play on emotions of owners who love their pets. My final bill break down was: $48 dollars for visit$50 for pancrease test$ 9 dollars for antibiotics to take home$ 15 for anti emetics to take home (4 little tablets, approximate retail price.. 10 cents)$ 9 dollars for food to take home. Positive: The techs and front desk are great. Very empathetic and understanding. Negative: The veterinarians are terrible. They actually sent an old 80 yr old vet who got scratched by my cat and his poor skin was just bleeding everywhere. It was horrible. They never called me back with lab results good or bad. I called them saying my cat was still having chronic, ongoing diarrhea and can you please help us. I asked for a anti-diarrheal and they refused. My beautiful cat went from 16lbs all the way down to 7 lbs in 2 years and Still nothing from them. The vets just suck here. No compassion or empathy. Right before my cat died I asked for his records to take to another vet but it was too late. I have to say if I had taken him somewhere else maybe he would still be alive today. This vets are just terrible. If you have a sick cat don't bother taking him here. It would be more compassionate to euthanize it. Seriously Read Less

The attention and compassion from Dr. Bender is unparalleled and his staff is very patient and gentle with the animals - turns out my dog had Pancreatitus and was in very bad shape. He put her on IV and meds and soon she was running and playing again. I am grateful Dr. Bender saved my dog and the bill was more than reasonable. Some vets would have easily charged me double.
