The staff was so amazing. We had to put our family dog down that we had for 8 years. It was a very hard decision for us to make and was a very heartbreaking experience. The staff was so thoughtful and kind. They sent a card in the mail with our dog’s paw print signed by the entire staff that had a beautiful rainbow bride poem on the front. As a non-practicing registered vet tech, I am very particular about where I take my animals. After adopting a puppy from the Visalia SPCA, Lacey Animal Hospital was the only vet clinic in the area to honor a free first examination. Of course I know the exam fee is only waived because you do end up paying for a lot that first visit. However, not all care is also courteous and not every vet treats your animal as warmly as Dr. Latham does. At that first visit, it was discovered that our puppy was very unhealthy with ringworm, kennel cough and secondary skin infection. The care we received throughout her treatment has been exemplary, appointments timely and staff just friendly enough. Our girl was just spayed yesterday, and her incision looks among the best I have seen, and I have much experience with spay/neuter procedures and incision care. It says a lot that I chose Lacey for her spay, over a free surgery provided by the shelter. I would recommend Lacey Animal Hospital to anyone. They are a small-sized clinic, with perhaps a semi-off putting location, but their work attitudes and hearts are on point. Animal assistants are incredibly warm and loving toward my 2 dogs. Dr. Singh, however, always appears annoyed and in a hurry. He believes he knows your pets and their lifestyle better than you, and isn't afraid to scold you about what you're doing wrong. Even if his advice is what you originally used for the treatment of a pet, he isn't understanding. But its a toss up, since the vet techs there are wonderful! Read Less

I have been a client of Lacey Animal Hospital for quite a while. They have always treated my pets (dogs and cats) extremely well and always been cautious about prices, estimates, etc.  They look at various options, consult, take time to get to know the animals, and show great compassion.  Very sensitive staff.  Currently, they have treated my "special needs" German Shepherd, from the first day she was rescued at 5 weeks old and on the brink of death.  The pup had numerous illnesses and issues through the first year and a half of her life that were handled as well as possible. In adulthood she finally became a healthy, very happy (though VERY neurotic) dog.  The staff as been supportive, friendly and helpful no matter the challenges.  And, the facility has a Shots Clinic on the weekend that is often overflowing: A wonderful service to the community and to pet owners.  So, do I sometimes have to wait a little bit because they are doing community service?  I'll NEVER complain about that!   Does the cost sometimes go higher than expected?  NOT because of gouging or "padding".  Prices are very reasonable compared to other vets I've consulted or used previously.  They have never given us unnecessary services or prescribed unnecessary medications. We've been using Lacey Animal hospital for over ten years. I would never recommend anyone else to care for their fur babies. Whether it's for a yearly shot or a sickness the staff has always been empathic and amazing. Even with a few deaths of our babies they had the best attitude and generally felt our pain as well. Watch out for the blond female vet. She killed my mastiff after telling me there was nothing wrong with her. When I requested the medical records she didn't even document the correct date of death. After going here for years I have decided to change hospitals. My dog was treated here for an infection and the cost was acceptable, EXCEPT for the medical food which I declined because I already have a special recipe for sensitive stomachs. They agreed and we signed the paperwork. AFTER everything was said and done, they gave her an unauthorized extra dose of medication and fed her food which cost about $50 more! They wouldn't hand me my dog until I payed for the unnecessary unauthorized treatments ! (I wasn't fighting it but they felt it necessary to hold my dog). Had I been asked, I would have agreed but nobody told me anything until it was time to leave. Never again! I value my pets above all else but do not appreciate them going behind my back to dig through my pockets! Read Less

This was our vet for years, but lately they became more and more untrustworthy. We eventually had to change vets entirely. They aren't bad, but they aren't "good" in the sense that I would recommend them to someone else, especially new arrivals at the base.Read Less

Came in to have my little poodle mix checked out while on holiday vacation. My dog had created a few hot spots on her neck and the staff here did such a great job taking care of her and making sure it wasn't too severe. The process of getting everything done was not very long and I was able to take her home with me the same day with meds to help her heal faster. Read Less

So to start, we have a female chihuahua that is very unsure of new people, when she is scared or uncomfortable she squeals and nips (nothing that would ever draw blood, but more of a defense action). We let the establishment know this prior to them handling our dog. The vet assistants were very caring and helpful to our little fur baby. When the vet came out, (a blonde lady) she seemed intoxicated, she was slurring her words and uncontrollably rolling her eyes back into her head when talking. her eyes were bloodshot and she crept up behind our dog and scared the crud out of her, to where she nipped (didn't touch her tho) the vet then said our dog is very aggressive and she strapped a muzzle on her! (We have never experienced a vet or groomer that has had to do this, she is 5) the handling and care of this vet was very unprofessional and not only that she could not take responsibility for the way she approached our dog. In addition, we came to the establishment for bordetella shots. They explained it would be $17 per dog, we have two, the other one is very good in these situations. When we received the bill, it was for $80!!! somehow they slipped in an "examination" (heartbeat, lungs and teeth) literally only took about 30 seconds. They never even let us know about this exam prior to doing it (really ticks me off) it would be different if they asked us if we would like to have them examined and disclose the price, but instead they just did it! It's as if I was at a store and the cashier threw in an extra item that I never even wanted not only that, an item that costs more than all the other items you are buying! $46 for this exam an exam we didn't need! I'm beside myself right now and not only that, there goes our food money for the week! Thank you Lacey animal hospital. NOT!!! Our dog is now home all violated looking lol I kid you not.To the assistants! You did a great job thank you for making our experience bearable! And for listening to our needs. Read Less

Brought my puppy here after he was hurt by another dog at the dog park the staff was extremely professional and supportive answered all my questions and in the end the price was extremely reasonable for the care provided I would definitely recommend this vet to anyone in the area! Read Less

Just met Dr. Singh, having adopted a new baby girl dog at the SPCA.  The adoption included an office visit, but not the medications.   The charges seemed reasonable,  and every member of the staff seemed kind, and caring.  Dr. Singh was very clear and thorough.   I felt like when he focused on Tuscon, she was the only dog in the world. When he explained things to me... I felt really cared about.  I know that sounds all "warm and cuddly", but it is really important to me to not feel like I'm on an assembly line - which can happen with a "free with adoption" vist.  NOT THE CASE.  My lil rescue pup was treated like a princess,  as she should.  When I asked tge doctor for a pic with Tuscon, he laughed - and posed. Been taking my dogs and cats here for years after bad experiences at other local vets. Dr Singh is great, but I would be remiss not to mention the GEM they have in Dr Bal. She is wonderful and I wouldn't know what to do without her. It would take forever to explain all the reasons I won't go anywhere else. Dr. Singh and his staff cared for my puppy, Ginger, when she got Parvo. They were kind and gentle with her. Dr. Singh was caring and kind. Ginger stayed there three days. They allowed us to visit Ginger and to bring her bed in so she wouldn't have to lie on the hard metal kennel surface. After we brought her home, Dr. Singh called the next day to see how she was doing. She fully recovered, thanks to their care. The facility is small but clean and well kept.
