DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! THE STAFF ARE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! They drain you of money and don't care of the animal's well-being. That became evident today.
MICCO is the worst, terrible person that over talks concerned pet owners, is condescending and has the WORST bedside manners I have ever experienced with any medical institution treating animals. The staff are nasty, rude, make it impossible to reach the doctor, and I among many others listed here, have had horrible experiences with this office. I plan to contact several Boards of Veterinary care to report how this business treats people and leaves owners without answers and takes ridiculous sums of money, but doesn't cure or heal the animals it treats. It's so unfortunate that a doctor that says he loves animals and was once great at what he did, is surrounded by horrible staff and administration. I URGE YOU DR. ROSSKROPF, GET RID OF THESE NASTY PEOPLE!
After $1000 in payments to this vet by a rescue sanctuary I adopted my lovebird from, he is still sick and they have refused to continue with his care. I BELIEVE THIS IS IN RETALIATION BECAUSE I REPORTED THE POOR TREATMENT OF THE STAFF TO THE DOCTOR.This is after Dr. Rosskropf assured me that he would continue to treat my bird over the phone after I was crying and told him of my frustrations with his staff and my worries over my pet.. WHO DOES THAT?! I have requested to speak directly to the doctor about this situation, recommendations and care today, but the nasty staff is DIRECTLY BLOCKING THAT FROM HAPPENING!
I CONSIDER DR. ROSSKOPF COMPLICIT IN THIS WHOLE ORDEAL IF HE IS ALLOWING THIS TO GO ON.
I plan to report to all necessary agencies about the misconduct going on at this business.
You don't treat well intentioned pet owners this way!!!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!
The pictures are included to show that the cheap, made up and taped up "cone" the doctor/nurses made, cut my bird's neck and made the situation even worse.

As another reviewer mentioned, person answering the phone was pretty rude. I called asking how much for an x-ray because my regular vet was closed. "Sorry we don't do second opinions" and told me to go elsewhere. I called back, after calling another hospital who wanted to charge me a CRAZY amount and was willing to do the regular check up then the xrays. I asked how much for the regular exam, I have already done blood work but she said it was necessary to do even though I could provide results and told me again "WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO COME HERE?!?" well my primary vet is close, my bird was puking and now there's blood in her stool so I need xrays to be done asap. In the end she was not compassionate about what I needed and didn't even care to ask initially what was going on with my pet. The reason I tried to reach out was because I heard their vet is good, so I guess I would still consider them but their inflexibility is something to think about.

$500 bucks just to give my African Gray a physical with bloodwork... I called around a found an amazing vet at Point Vista in Rancho Palos Verdes to do it for $288... I had them do the sexing of my grey and do the microchip... All totaled $388... Cool thing is my new vet has 5 greys at home!!! I also called and complained about Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital awful sounding voice message... They said they don't care and their doctor is old and they are trying to keep him from dying. Wow!

Frist off they never answer the phone so good luck if you have an urgent matter secondly I spoke to a Jenifer whom seems to care less says they have so much business they didnt need mine. I has an appointment at 9:30 next day called to confirm and also I needed to know if they had the proper papperwork so that the appointment would go smoothly as I needed to get to the USDA that same day by 11am with the proper papperwok after a half day of calling Jenifer answers the phone while in mid sentence leaving the 10th voicemail Jennifer answers the phone I think she was screening calls she answered as if she was under the influence of something could care less. I was not only fustrated at this point but she had no concern or care for my situation. Jennifer said I was stressing her out I think it was the other way around she could care less about my ugency and lacked any care to try and help I was calling to help them so that on my appointment we would have all necessary documents for my international heath cert. She said she was deleting my appointment and said she didnt care we have enough business she said I have been here 22 years and we dont care . I asked for the office manager to call me she said that it was her and then asked if Vet could call me back she said he wouldn't . Who cancels your appointment when your flying out the next day and are just calling to make sure that you have all neccessay documentation.Go figure Well folks if you have a important matter about your pet good luck "cuz they don't care"quoted by office manager Jennifer Also good luck to get anyone to call you back for that matter . Luckly I have a outstanding exotic vet Dr Greek & Associates in Yorba Linda ca the most caring and talented Doctor and his staff is so caring and treat you and your pet like Royalty. Prices are so fair and the care is second to none. Give them a try they really care.Thank god for them they got me in and are coming in especialy for my pet and I at 7:30 am.

I loved it here, Dr Rosskoph is an amazing doctor. They took care my hamster like it was their own pet. He cured my hamster and always had an appointment open. ( and yes they do stay on the phone after they found out a 12 year old is calling )The staff there is very nice and helpful. From ducks to mouses, Dr Rosskoph can cure everything.
Even though the place looks a little rundown do not judge a book by its cover, they are amazing people that love animals.

He answered every single one of my questions, and I had about 20. He was insightful, informative & was really good with my baby that had a badly clogged nasal cavity & extremely overgrown nailsHe took the time to look at a video I had taken that he diagnosed as a possible epileptic seizure My visit was $420 which is very reasonableGeorge had an initial check up to determine his sex, ability to fly, overall health, nail trim, nasal flush, removal of a huge nasal blockage, antibiotic injection, and a culture of the blockage to see if he has a respiratory infection. Plus all the advise & diet information was invaluable. My visit with the doctor was over 30 minutes Money well spentSide note, I was referred here by my dog/cat vet, Hawthorne Dog & Cat Pet Hospital but I've learned they accommodate all animals here

Upong my arrival, the caring staff set my Dopy and me in a room, and met the vet. The vet was very caring, he knew tons about my baby, he's passionate, calm, warm and I could tell he really CARES about all his little patients. Visit plus medicine was $96..not bad!! Still the life of my baby is priceless

I absolutely love Spice wood Springs Animal Hospital and have been taking my animals there for a few years.Having used several vets in , I have found Dr. be an amazing Dr and his clinic has an amazing staff.From the time I show up I feel at home, his staff is attentive, remembers my dogs and cats, and I know that they are receiving the best care. I have always boarded my dogs at Spice wood and I recently started using their doggy daycare. Love it!I recommend them to everyone!

I am the happy owner of my first Russian tortoise. I took Bruce to see Dr. Rosskopf for a routine exam. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet both over the phone and in person. Dr. Rosskopf was very knowledgeable and helpful. He took his time explaining everything to me that I needed to know about my new companion. Both Bruce and myself left very happy. Worst, rudest staff ever. In my opinion, Dr R - a pioneer of avian medicine and deeply respected for being one of the first in the game so to say - is a shadow and shell of the former vet he once was...
Worst, rudest staff ever. In my opinion, Dr R - a pioneer of avian medicine and deeply respected for being one of the first in the game so to say - is a shadow and shell of the former vet he once was. My bird, who was like a son to me, lost his life due to lack of treatment, diagnostics, in plain terms bad medicine here. One simple xray would have saved his life, and after asking Dr R about having one done, he said it wasnt neccessary. Well, almost one year later and I still have a whole in my heart (and forever will) from my baby being gone, one xray would have saved him and all his symptoms pointed to metal toxicity, I would have expected an avian vet board certified to have caught this common and simplest of diagnosis. I highly recommend Dr Nemetz in OC, HE knows what he is doing.

I called back, after calling another hospital who wanted to charge me a CRAZY amount and was willing to do the regular check up then the xrays. I asked how much for the regular exam, I have already done blood work but she said it was necessary to do even though I could provide results and told me again "WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO COME HERE?!?" well my primary vet is close, my bird was puking and now there's blood in her stool so I need xrays to be done asap. In the end she was not compassionate about what I needed and didn't even care to ask initially what was going on with my pet. The reason I tried to reach out was because I heard their vet is good, so I guess I would still consider them but their inflexibility is something to think about.

Exceptional customer care, skilled veterinarian services, and reasonable price range, a high value rare find. I feel like my animals especially my birds are safe here. (not easy to find an avian vet)

I had them do the sexing of my grey and do the microchip... All totaled $388... Cool thing is my new vet has 5 greys at home!!! I also called and complained about Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital awful sounding voice message... They said they don't care and their doctor is old and they are trying to keep him from dying. Wow!

Staff is very attentive and accommodating. Treated my furbaby as if their own. My dog won't let me clip her nails, doctor did it with ease! So glad to have found a vet we can trust.

Frist off they never answer the phone so good luck if you have an urgent matter secondly I spoke to a Jenifer whom seems to care less says they have so much business they didnt need mine. I has an appointment at 9:30 next day called to confirm and also I needed to know if they had the proper papperwork so that the appointment would go smoothly as I needed to get to the USDA that same day by 11am with the proper papperwok after a half day of calling Jenifer answers the phone while in mid sentence leaving the 10th voicemail Jennifer answers the phone I think she was screening calls she answered as if she was under the influence of something could care less. I was not only fustrated at this point but she had no concern or care for my situation. Jennifer said I was stressing her out I think it was the other way around she could care less about my ugency and lacked any care to try and help I was calling to help them so that on my appointment we would have all necessary documents for my international heath cert. She said she was deleting my appointment and said she didnt care we have enough business she said I have been here 22 years and we dont care . I asked for the office manager to call me she said that it was her and then asked if Vet could call me back she said he wouldn't . Who cancels your appointment when your flying out the next day and are just calling to make sure that you have all neccessay documentation.Go figure Well folks if you have a important matter about your pet good luck "cuz they don't care"quoted by office manager Jennifer Also good luck to get anyone to call you back for that matter . Luckly I have a outstanding exotic vet Dr Greek & Associates in Yorba Linda ca the most caring and talented Doctor and his staff is so caring and treat you and your pet like Royalty. Prices are so fair and the care is second to none. Give them a try they really care.Thank god for them they got me in and are coming in especialy for my pet and I at 7:30 am.

I loved it here, Dr Rosskoph is an amazing doctor. They took care my hamster like it was their own pet. He cured my hamster and always had an appointment open. ( and yes they do stay on the phone after they found out a 12 year old is calling )The staff there is very nice and helpful. From ducks to mouses, Dr Rosskoph can cure everything.
Even though the place looks a little rundown do not judge a book by its cover, they are amazing people that love animals.

He was insightful, informative & was really good with my baby that had a badly clogged nasal cavity & extremely overgrown nailsHe took the time to look at a video I had taken that he diagnosed as a possible epileptic seizure My visit was $420 which is very reasonableGeorge had an initial check up to determine his sex, ability to fly, overall health, nail trim, nasal flush, removal of a huge nasal blockage, antibiotic injection, and a culture of the blockage to see if he has a respiratory infection. Plus all the advise & diet information was invaluable. Upong my arrival, the caring staff set my Dopy and me in a room, and met the vet. The vet was very caring, he knew tons about my baby, he's passionate, calm, warm and I could tell he really CARES about all his little patients. Visit plus medicine was $96..not bad!! Still the life of my baby is priceless

I absolutely love Spice wood Springs Animal Hospital and have been taking my animals there for a few years.Having used several vets in , I have found Dr. be an amazing Dr and his clinic has an amazing staff.From the time I show up I feel at home, his staff is attentive, remembers my dogs and cats, and I know that they are receiving the best care. I have always boarded my dogs at Spice wood and I recently started using their doggy daycare. Love it!I recommend them to everyone!

I am the happy owner of my first Russian tortoise. I took Bruce to see Dr. Rosskopf for a routine exam. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet both over the phone and in person. Dr. Rosskopf was very knowledgeable and helpful. He took his time explaining everything to me that I needed to know about my new companion. Both Bruce and myself left very happy. I definitely reccommend this vet!!

Worst, rudest staff ever. In my opinion, Dr R - a pioneer of avian medicine and deeply respected for being one of the first in the game so to say - is a shadow and shell of the former vet he once was. My bird, who was like a son to me, lost his life due to lack of treatment, diagnostics, in plain terms bad medicine here. One simple xray would have saved his life, and after asking Dr R about having one done, he said it wasnt neccessary. Well, almost one year later and I still have a whole in my heart (and forever will) from my baby being gone, one xray would have saved him and all his symptoms pointed to metal toxicity, I would have expected an avian vet board certified to have caught this common and simplest of diagnosis. I highly recommend Dr Nemetz in OC, HE knows what he is doing.
