Doctor Green can't ever retire, because if she did, we wouldn't know what to do. We stumbled upon this little old vet office back in 2000. We had rescued (literally, from a cage in a carport in an apartment complex) 3 puppies in need of emergency care. We knew we couldn't keep them, but we weren't about to let them lie there and die, either. We ended up at a 24 hour emergency clinic, where one puppy began to die on my lap, and the other two were in bad shape. The one had to be put down, but the other two had about a 40% chance if hospitalized, so we went for it. They had intestinal worms so bad they couldn't keep food down because their stomach was full of them, they were badly malnourished, and they all had Parvo. These were only 6-8 week old puppies. In the morning, the vet at the emergency clinic referred us to Dr. Green to transfer them there long-term. We came to Dr. Green and basically told her our story, she reviewed their diagnoses and we basically said, we have this much money, please do all you can for that much, and we'll have to take them home and do our best ourselves once that money is gone. My husband (boyfriend at the time) and I were only 20, and had no extra money to live on, let alone to spend. She told us all she could do, and did it right away. We had enough to only keep them hospitalized with IV meds for a few days. When we came to check them out, she said she really wanted to keep them one more day, even if we couldn't pay for it, because they were making such great improvement and she felt one more day could mean a lot for their recovery. That blew me away. A vet who cared so much for the animals, she'd go the extra mile even if it didn't make her a profit. We couldn't thank her enough. Needless to say, both rescued puppies made a full recovery, and a pet owner who happened to be at the vet and saw the puppies there ended up adopting one of them (we kept the other). That puppy we kept became our first baby, of nearly 14 years, and Dr. Green was her doctor from that first visit until she had to be put to sleep at 14. In that time, she's been our vet for cats, rats, birds and dogs, and we'll refer anyone who'll listen. It's a small building, it's old, and it's in Hemet. But we'd drive an hour each way if we needed to. Think about it...if she moved her office to Temecula and rented a big new fancy shop, she'd prob have to charge more than double for what she does. It's not about appearances, it's about quality care and treatment of pets. We live in Menifee now and still use her. They are ridiculously affordable, she always goes the extra mile with every pet, and remembers every furry face. They give you a statement of everything that needs to be done and what it costs BEFORE doing any of it, and even tell you what is absolutely necessary or optional, and why, so you can make an educated decision, and know exactly what you're paying for and how much before any work is done. She saved my cat after an altercation with a wild animal, she removed a tumor from my pet rat, she spayed our cats and dogs, and any other thing that came along. She's the absolute best, and she genuinely cares. We'll never go anywhere else as long as she's around! Read Less
