Hemet Animal Hospital is amazing! The staff here always makes us feel welcome. Dr Bogner ligitimately cares for our 5 year old Brittany Waylon. We have been bringing him here since he was a puppy and he has always received amazing care. We are moving away from Hemet and are sad that we will have to find a new vet. so it's been six years since our big boy passed away at this vet, and check my email today what do i find ? an email from hemet animal hospital asking for a review of our resent visit.are you kidding me after six years and not giving me my dying dog back, you want a review!well here you go.this place is overpriced and uncaring. even after our dog died, our only option to get him back was an over priced cremation service. they knew he wasn't going to last long but i didn't get paid for two more days all they care about is money luckly i got paid the day after he passed so we were able to get his remains after being extorted.i can get over the high prices but the lack of caring.... they knew he wasnt going to last long but the money was more important to them. my biggest regret is that i caved to my weak side and took my boy there when i knew what was coming but i wasn't strong enough and we were not ready to say good bye.we took him in out of desperation and they let him dye alone and afraid.I'm sorry Chubbies i should have been there for you like you were for us. rip brother we miss and love you, see you at the rainbow bridge. I've been going to this clinic for years. The staff were always friendly, and I trusted them with my dogs. They were however always on the pricier side but due to how nice they were and how great they were to my animals, I was happy. I will never be returning to this vet again though due to horrible customer service. In the last 4 years, I have spent over THOUSANDS of dollars at this facility because my dogs are high allergy pets. I even have moved from hemet and drive an hour to and from to continue my visits here and to be hung up on during a call simply trying to schedule shots is apauling. I wouldn't recommend going here. I had a bad experience before I even went! Called to set up an appointment and a woman named Meghan answered and she was very rude to me the moment she answered the phone. Kept cutting me off and wouldn't let me ask questions and used a tone with me as if I was dumb or ignorant even. Come to find out, she's the hospital manager! Place has changed. Uncaring staff. Especially counter person. Never taking my boy there again. Accused me of not feeding him. I spend around $110 per mo. On Nutro, Ultra, nutro canned, cranberry powder, fish oils, vit E, milk thistle, at 14 yrs old, I don't think a $300 blood test to see if he can undergo castration, which because he's 100 lbs, a few hundred more. There are alternative treatments, chemical, and an electro-magnetic device, that's being tested on humans (no more radical surgery, guys!) But easier to put a guilt trip on me for not spending the big bucks. Read Less

The staff here are so sweet with our rescue dog (read timid and easily panicked).  What my husband appreciated is the prescription prices.  Our veterinarian's diagnoses have always been correct.  The staff ALWAYS call to check on our pet afterward.  And the price that they charge us for Apoquel is 25% lower than the best price I can find online.  The combination of an amazingly kind and compassionate staff and low prescription prices have kept us as loyal customers. Took my 15 year old Aussie in and she was misdiagnosed. Tried to treat her with their diagnosis for 2 days...finally took her to a vet in Murrieta and found out she was in horrible shape. They missed so many things...water around her heart, enlarged heart and a tumor. The vet in Murrieta was 99 percent sure she had a stroke. These people told me she had vertigo and it would pass. To top it off they charged us $170.00 for the wrong diagnosis. We ended up loosing our baby on April 16th. Will never take another one of my babies there. Read Less

They are friendly, but get your wallet ready it's going to be surgically removed and if you happen to not have the cash with you, your pet could die in the waiting room because you pay up front. They charge about 1 times what other vets do. Took my cat there last year and they told me it would be very expensive to treat him and he probably wouldn't make it anyway. I said I didn't care what it cost, treat him. He had an infection in between his lung and the sac that surrounds it. They treated him by removing the fluid with a syringe and giving antibiotics. He improved immediately. I took him home but three days later he had fluid again. I took him back and they said they could do it again, but it would continue to fill with fluid. I told them I didn't care, just do it. I was 65 and on Social Security and the costs were mounting. They refused to do it unless paid first, like I hadn't paid the last time. I had to sell my old wedding bands to get the $200 I wouldn't have for two days. I got him back and he was doing well, but his fluid came back again. I asked if a drain tube couldn't be put in. Well YES! it could, but they insisted I keep him there and pay every two days. He stayed for over a week and finally was cured. They tried to charge me another $2,500, but luckily I had asked for a printed cost before I had left him. It said it would cost $1,500 and I made them stick to their original charge. If I had listened to them, he would have been dead. I took my pug in there one month ago and they did a complete blood work up before doing her teeth. She had 5 teeth pulled and a $260 blood panel done. The blood showed she had hypothyroid. I got her back after I paid another $500. I went back to get her rechecked to see how the meds were doing and they charged me another $20 saying that they FORGOT to add the meds on when I was billed $760. What could I do, they had my dog HOSTAGE! I gave them the $20 but informed them I wasn't happy. The same meds online cost $4.80 and I know the online store is making money on them. They still haven't got the test results back after 5 days. They are at best half assed vets and they seem to care more about your wallet than your animal. I know they run a business, but the greed needs to stop at some point. When I have a receipt saying ZERO BALANCE and can't get my dog until I pay another $20 that they say they FORGOT to put on last time? I call that poor business practice. Read Less

My 11 year old dog needed 7 teeth pulled. I was initially opposed to it because I am a senior living on Soc Sec but I knew that she was very sick. Another customer was in the waiting rm and she told me how her dog had had the same condition and she did spend the money to have it done and her dog came out so much better and healthy. Her experience changed my mind and I had the surgery on my dog. I am so glad that I did because she survived and thrived after the surgery. She went back to being her old self. So although I had to spend about $1100. I was so glad that I did. She has continued to be healthy for one year and 6 months since surgery. I cannot say enough about how great these vets are. And I thank them for giving me more time with my sweet little dog. She continues to do well. Read Less

I've been taking my animals here for nearly six years and have mixed feelings about this clinic. I have both cats and a dog and although all the staff are very kind and compassionate, I have had multiple unnecessary cancer scares here. Word of advice, young veterinarians - don't bring up cancer unless it's likely, these pets are my children and when I bring a dog in with a clear allergic reaction to a tic and you try to sell me on $500 of tests to rule out cancer, I will lose faith in you as a vet. They're office is clean and inviting, their pricing on visits and procedures are high, medications are reasonable. I've had a mix of experiences here but I think it's time to move on. Read Less

I am so thankful that another vet was too concerned about appointments and sent me here with a cat that could have been dying in my arms (the crummy vet in the orange groves). So I rushed to the next one which thankfully happened to be Hemet Animal Hospital. They said they would get me in after cleaning the room, where a dog had just died on its way in to the vet (so sad). So that took a little bit understandably, but they got us in after about 20 minutes or less. They took the up-most care for the poor stray/neighborhood kitty who had been attacked in my yard by dogs who got out of a neighbor's yard. They were very upfront about the costs and let me know what was necessary and what wasn't when I explained my concern for the costs. They took great care of the kitty and quickly worked to get her pain medication and x-rays. Turns out she had cuts and a horribly broken front arm. But wouldn't need surgery and could heal up at home. I was so relieved! Now I have a new member of my family with the kitty and a new vet to take her to. They also show how much they care about animals here because they understood that the cat was a stray essentially and worked with me on costs by letting her stay in the vet kennel through the weekend without charge! Our dog has ringworm. $357?!!! They wanted to run tests. We denied the culture test & that took off $200. So a rash that the Vet looked at for 5 min costs $150!!! Maybe I should switch professions? At least the Vet was nice as she stuck it to us. Haha Read Less

I found this vet on the internet - and I couldn't be happier with the treatment starting at the front desk and ending with our  Doc.  Every question was answered - kind considerate treatment to both human and animal - If you're unhappy with your current vet; I highly recommend you make an appointment and find out for yourself what I'm talking about.  As far as Watch M goes: it's 25 dollars to euthanize your pet if you're not in the room - 100 dollars if you are.  There is a charge for everything we do - hard to find free anywhere - but, it was your responsibility to find out COMPLETE charges starting with: Have I asked and have you answered all questions needed in this procedure? I found and find them to be straight forward and very thorough, not at all like the low rating I see here. Ramona charges 25.00 if you don't accompany the euthanasia but 100.00 (same as Hemet Animal hosp) to be there and hold. Perhaps the distraught cat owner didn't hear clearly through her tears...that is completely understandable. And you know we all know that time will come so it's always a better idea to ask ahead and thin these things through way before one needs these services. Read Less

So let me get this straight. I asked how much it was to put down my cat and was quoted $45. When they put her down, I was charged $100. When asked why the extra money, they said it was to dispose of cat. That is something that I should have been told when asking for original quote. I did not appreciate, the deceptive way I was charged extra. Just be upfront and say $100. They know people don't want to drive home with a dead animal in the passenger seat. I was very unhappy with my previous veterinarian so I began looking for a new vet. I had heard good things about Dr. Stallings and Hemet Animal Hospital so I made an appointment there. What a fabulous experience !!!! I have never had a vet give me so much one on one time. She answered each and every one of my questions and even gave me some over the counter ideas that i could use at home. I recommend that everyone who loves their pets to give this place a try. I have two chihuahuas, one of whom had been consistently sick over two years. I took the lab reports & file from my old vet to Dr Drenning & after she reviewed them & examined my dog, gave me instructions that were easy to follow, prescribed three meds, recommended food to give my dog & asked for a followup visit to see how she responded. My dog responded very well & has done great since that visit. I cannot be anything but impressed with Dr Drenning's diagnostic skills, but even more important, she manifested not only a professional manner, but she genuinely cared about my dog & wanted nothing more than to see her healed. Additionally, the techs that worked with Dr Drenning were all outstanding. They treated Peanut as if she was the most important creature in the world. When I brought my other dog, Gizmo, in it was a similar experience. I reccomend Hemet Animal Hospital & Dr Drenning in particular. Read Less

Money factory......took my dog for an eye ulser gave be drops and said long healing process. went back two days later for followup payed fee. they took my dog in the back and  would'nt let me go with them. 2 mins and i mean 2 minutes later they come back with my dog and now all of a sudden after only two days of eye drops she needs a 200+$ procedure with no explanation. Do not go to this vet they will just try and nickle and dime you until you have nothing left!! They do not care about your pets only how much money they can get from you. They will recommend EVERY test in the book for ANY problem your pet has, and then give you attitude when you decline.
