I just went back to HAH and was reminded what a great vet he is! And was so glad that Laurie was our vet tech again. Emily was "abandoned 5x" in her 1st year [in fact that is what I just titled her GoFundMe page so I could bring her back to HAH] and had huge separation anxiety issues, so to see her in the treatment room, cradled and RELAXED in Laurie's arms was BIG and so sweet! She is likewise with Dr. Liebl. When I first brought my rescue dog Emily there she was 16 months and 11 lbs. [breed is 18-24 lbs]. She was extremely challenged and damaged. HAH was the one vet I felt and feel I can trust most: in an excruciatingly difficult 1st year after damaged by puppy mill birth and massive abuse in her 1st year, they supported me and comforted me thru the challenges, and set Emily on a healing path [today she was the 18.5 lbs she was supposed to be!]. Other vets quoted cheaper prices, then charged for every little thing while HAH's fee was inclusive [and ended up LESS expensive, not cheap! but less than the others!!] and another on Western in Palos Verdes, was a nightmare, harming already vulnerable Emily with needless medicine, that scabbed & burned the fringe off her ears, just to pad their income to sell the practice [that vet still there, don't go!!], they even lost her 1st X-rays and then were nasty to me about it!! I always wished I'd not gone to them and had gone back in the 1st place to HAH. They never push meds on me, and are open to questions and other ideas, always supportive. At HAH Dr. Jacks and Dr. Liebl are who I most highly recommend. Emily got bit by a coyote when she was about 5, & this time I trusted my instinct to bring her home from San Diego to Hermosa Animal Hospital, Dr. Jacks was wonderful, and even told me Emily didn't need an X-ray she could easily have done: Dr. Jacks was right, she healed remarkably fast. I knew I could trust them. The emergency vet I would recommend is City of Angels in Culver City: they have the same caring feel that HAH has [2 other emergency vets on Hawthorne Blvd. and PCH nr Redondo - left her sitting in pools of blood from an infection, doing next to nothing and costing over $500, no compassion, no care, awful]I have to be honest, so if I could give HAH, 4.9 instead of 5 I would due to the only exception, which is a competent but rigid tech who wouldn't let me go back to say a quick goodbye to Emily [I'd learned if she had an image of me returning she was okay and had less separation panic], Emily panicked that day [I still feel bad about it], but the next few days when I brought her to spend the day to be hydrated and treated for a massive infection [she had 12 in her 1st 2 yrs. now 15 clean urine samples!] I did what I needed to do, let the tech be the one upset, and went back to say goodbye to Emily and all was fine again. Like today, I leave glad I brought her there!! Read Less
