They would not honor a free kitten well check after making me wait for 45 minutes in a very smelly office. I had discussed the free well check 2 days prior with a lady named Christie and she agreed to accept it. So, I scheduled my appointment and today, after waiting for 45 minutes, I asked how much longer it would be, as they were seeing everyone who walked in after me...and that's when another employee told me she would not accept the free kitten check offer from the Apple Valley Animal Control, even though their office is listed as one of the vets on the list. She claimed I had to come in within 48 hrs of adopting, but the AV animal control says they are reading it incorrectly and it is within 10 days of adopting that I have to get the kitten checked out. Anyhow, I went ahead and left the office with nothing but a wasted hour of my life. Guess I'll have to find a different vet office to care for my kitten's needs. Read Less

terrible place to take your puppy. I was gifted a puppy whose mom did not want to nurse her so i was giving her puppy formula and canned puppy food. I took her to get checked and they made her diarrhea a big deal assuming she had parvo and I told them it was probably the puppy formula or the canned dog food (because she had non of the symptoms parvo shows). I ended paying for the parvo test that came back negative and got stuck with the puppy package because there is no refunds. They also prescribed her some medicine that no one told me why my puppy needed it or that she was sick some how. I recommend the Hesperia Animal Hospital (they are very humble and love all animals) DO NOT make the same mistake i did and bring your puppy to this horrible place that just wants to take your money. STAY AWAY! One vet was borderline accusing me of hurting my cat and another on was telling me my cat was on deaths door. I had to call the office twice to find out when the labs would be back and when they were back, the vet wasn't going to be able to contact me until after her second lunch at 8:00 PM. Wasn't going to wait that long- went in and picked them up myself along with her x-ray that they charged me $10 for a CD and took her to another vet. tried to get records from the visit and the Dr.s hadn't had a chance to enter their notes...not even after 4 days. Unprofessional. Found out the x-ray--- which i never saw---was a bad image and the new vet couldn't even figure out what they were trying to get an image of. Plus, she had a heart murmur. Sounds like that is something that should have been caught during one of her exams, but looks like they never checked her out but i wouldn't know because they never did any type of exam in front of me just took her back to the back to do god knows what and never once answered any of my other questions that i had. I have owned Dogs, Cats, birds etc all my life. I am a little beyond 70 yrs old and I can honestly say this is the BEST of the BEST Animal medical staff I have EVER encountered! They are efficient at the front desk, very courteous. If its your first visit or have been there several times, they greet you with a smile and treat you with great respect. No matter what the reason your baby is in for, you become family to them. Chrissy is the manager and treats her staff wonderful. Her clients are the animals you bring to them. Came here with my family German Shepard who has been with us for nine years. He was suffering and needed medical assistance. The doctor was on lunch and could not provide immediate assistance. We had to wait outside in the parking lot for over an hour. It was 103 degrees outside. The only time he came out was when he told us to move our trailer which was attached to our truck. Not once did he ask about our dog or our situation. I went to Victor Valley Animal Hospital where they were able to immediately assess our dog's health and provide professional advice. Unfortunately he had to be put down. It's a shame he spent some of his last hours in life waiting outside of a hot parking lot while some doctor munched on his leftovers. The least they could have done was put him inside where he could at least be in the ac. Hope it was a delicious lunch. Don't worry I moved the truck and trailer. R.I.P. The staff is so professional and polite and the doctors are most caring and knowledgeable. I have brought 3 separate emergency cases here to have all 3 of my beloved pets saved from the clutches of death by the angels who work here. Everyone has there own experience and expectations of how an emergency visit should be. This has been the go to vet for my family's pets for decades. They used to be great . This place isn't even worthy of the minimum 1 star rating. This place is the epitome of INCOMPETENCE, from the desk clerks, to the technicians , and most importantly to the doctors here. we have had 3 horrible experiences in a row now and will never return to this place . This place is fine and in a convenient location to maybe have vaccinations done , not for any real care however . They do not respect you or your pet . They are very provocative and do not elaborate on their medical advice . Every person in their staff has no social skills and are very mono tone , especially Dr. Ivan, who is definitely in the wrong field , as he shows no love toward my pets I've brought here . He will not even pet or ask what your pet's name is . I came in here a few nights ago with my very sick pup who contracted parvo , unfortunately . They drew up an estimate of 2,000 dollars and expected me to leave without speaking to a doctor . I'm sorry , but do not charge people this crazy amount (I understand it's necessary to treat this deadly disease) and not even have a doctor speak to them. So when I asked to see a doctor, Dr. Ivan comes in looking at my wife and I like we were straight idiots. I asked him what will we do to get my puppy instant care and relief (as she was clinging on for life). He looked at me and said , "hospitalize her". Duh , is that not why we're here? I was hoping for a more elaborative answer , as my puppy was about to die . At this point in my visit , there was no way in hell I was going to leave my pup with such a whack doctor who didn't even touch or pet her . Well luckily , there was animal emergency medical clinic in Victorville , who instantly stabilized my pup , and now she is recovering . Wow how you put an e collar on my cat while she was sedated and when it was off before we got her home, I called find out why it was so loosely applied I'm told because she is aggressive. WTF? she was sedated how is an unconscious animal aggressive? And yes I do expect you to hold my cat down and do what needs to be done. How unbelievable is it that a veteranary office doesn't have the skills to deal with an unruly pet? I certainly hope my baby doesn't open her stitches before I can get her from under the bed. I have taken all of my pets here, including 3 dogs and 2 cats.  I have been happy with the service, particularly when I had to put down my 11 year old German Shepherd.  They were honest about surgery, how much it would cost, and the likely outcome.  They were very patient while we made our decision, and sent a card to my home a few days later.  I highly recommend this place. Took my 7 month old Shitzu in when he began having trouble breathing.  We were immediately taken to the exam room and saw the doctor.  The doctor gave a thorough exam and took a chest x Ray.  Gizmo was immediately placed in the oxygen tank.  The doctor came in and explained his diagnosis of pneumonia.  I was taken back and shown his x Ray.  The doctor explain the treatment and the tech came in and went over the price for overnight stays and treatments.  I was very pleased with the service I received and thought the price was reasonable.  My puppy stayed a few days and was very well taken care of. We took our two dogs in for the advertised dental special at $130 per dog, to include dental cleaning and exam , nail trim, ear cleaning, anesthesia, office visit. Although the treatment was terrific, the invoice was a surprise. Prior to general anesthesia they did a complete blood panel and offered fluids through the procedure and afterwards. Assuming this was part of the dental special, was not, was an additional $130. I believe their AD should read $260 Dental special. Read Less

So, I have to add my review because.... Idk I feel it's the right thing to do. First, let me be very clear. This isn't that I'm mad or hurt because my dog passed away. I'm truly upset with the way that yesterday went based solely on the staff behavior. So, back story is that my big dog had bit my friend/roommates little dog. He seemed fine for a couple days, but then presented with SEVERE bruising on his stomach. So if course we were terrified that he has internal bleeding or something of that nature going on. So to the vet we go. Being that it was Sunday and we didn't want to take him far just in case I found this place open. Ok. Made our appointment. Got there and things were seemingly ok. The little lady at the desk was super sweet and helpful. Then we get in the exam room. And wait. And wait. And wait some more. Tbh it felt like an hour, but was probably closer to 30 minutes. Vet checks him out recommends all kinds of stuff, leaves for the estimate, and the waiting continues. Then the tech comes in. So condescending. So super fake with her "sweetie" and talking about our "baby". Just ick. Being that he's all of 5 pounds my friend had already said she did not want him sedated. It was too risky at his size... Well this waste of flesh got pissy about it. So after x-rays and blood work turns out he's got some broken ribs. Now the vet said one rib and no punctured lung... Then the tech says 3 and punctured lung. She tried to panic us into doing surgery. Asked for the estimate.... Yeah it never changed from the original. Super shady behavior from almost everyone you come into contact with after the front desk. The vet seemed to be high, tired, drunk, or hungover. Could be wrong but she was very lethargic and could care less. It was great for the cheap exam price and the emergency part but hell no on making this my regular vet. Read Less

I wish I could give 0 Stars. I'll give a summary then give you the full story in case you don't want to read everything. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE ANIMAL AND USE PUTTING THEMTO SLEEP AS A SOLUTION TO EVERYTHING. THEN TREAT YOU LIKE SCUM WHEN YOU DON'T AGREE. YOUR PET IS JUST A NUMBER TO THEM. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF THEY ARE A PART OF YOUR FAMILY.  I've been here a handful of times before(none of which were good experiences). Yesterday I was helping a family member with their dog's appointment. Their dog was having bouts of rapid breathing and general lethargy. The Vet showed us the X-ray and said "it's cancer", I asked a few questions about what I was looking at then we asked what we can do for him. He just shook his head and said "Nothing. I recommend putting him down." We explained that we didn't want to do that, at least not yet as he was still living his normal daily life. The vet then said extremely rudely "well then you just want to let him suffer? Fine!" And scoffed. He told us he "guesses" he could give us some pain medicine but that it wouldn't help his breathing. So then I HAD TO ASK what we could do for his breathing. He then said again he "guessed" he could give him a steroid.I don't know about anyone else but I would want a vet who will explain to me the options my pet has and not just try to push me to put him down then treat me as if I am scum. Not to mention the front desk girls are laughing and talking about their personal lives when they are actually doing their job at the front, most of the time you can't even find them though! I must have been asked 4 times who I was and who my dog was throughout the entire visit. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up giving out the wrong medications or vaccines sometimes. I will never go here again and I will warn everyone of this place. P.S. my family's dog did end up passing away peacefully in the arms of his family, in his warm home. Read Less

Horrible place. Don't bring your loved ones here. We brought in our dog as a walk in because she wasn't eating or drinking and had to pay $500 just to get her seen. This was fine as it was a Sunday. Dr. Henderson checked her out and did bloodwork, but could not do a biopsy because of my baby's bloodcount. Fine. Went home while they did more tests (she was there for 2 nights and three days). On the 3rd day I called them, they didn't call me, and we (spouse and I) were informed that she had a cancerous liver tumor. Were told our options were to put her to sleep at that time, or she (Dr. Henderson) could give us a referral to an oncologist. Yes, she told us she could euthanize our baby that very same day, and this was w/o a biopsy or CT scan, solely based on bloodwork and symptoms. We asked for the referral and were given one to California Veterinary Specialists, another horrid place, we would painfully come to find out.  After taking Dr. Henderson's advice and taking her to CVS, we opted to do surgery to remove my baby's tumor, per the oncologist's and surgeon's recommendation at CVS. They did a CT scan and saw a growth, no biopsy was done here either.  In the meantime, I'd also consulted a holistic vet in Los Angeles who recommended against the surgery.  Long story short, she died from complications from said surgery; and after the pathology reports came back I found out she never had cancer, but had a benign tumor that was common to older dogs (she was 12). Plus, the tumor had shrank by 3 cms in the month this had all been going on, between Animal Medical Center, the holistic vet ( who'd put my baby on herbs) and the place that killed her (CVS). Remember, Dr. Henderson at Animal Medical Center, originally told us we could put our baby to sleep that same day she was "diagnosed", all due to a cancer she never had. Please, stay away from this place. I won't even go into the terrible customer service at the front desk.PS. At one point during our visit with Dr. Henderson, she told us she was "the best" and taught other vets. Ha. Read Less

I've been taking my animals to this vet for 7 years and had been satisfied with pricing and care for my animals until TODAY. $130 dental special that secretly stands for $550 a dog.  If your animal needs to have extractions and you can't afford everything right then and there then they don't do the work at all.  No option to do work on a few teeth and then come back when you can pay for more. They used the excuse that they LEGALLY cannot leave teeth that need to be extracted or present a risk.  My dogs are healthy, with no problems eating, active and happy.  I'm obviously here because I care for my dogs and want to make sure they are taken care of, so why take advantage? I have 4 dogs I bring here for EVERYTHING several times a year.  NEVER AGAIN.  I'll take my pets and my money elsewhere. Read Less

We have been going here since 1994 when Dr. Gaddis was there.  He was always so kind and thorough in explaining things to us about the care of our furry family members.  He cared and loved all animals, and it showed. We were very sorry to hear of his passing.  We miss him.Our recent visit was a sad one.  Our Kiko was too sick to save.  The Vet was very kind in explaining our options.  We chose to go with the surgery which we knew would be a 50/50 chance of his survival. We had to try.  The Vet and staff were very supportive.  I want to thank them for sending us a condolence card for Kiko.  It was very thoughtful.The waiting room and exam rooms are always clean and smell clean too.  The wait time is not bad compared to going to see "People" doctors.  I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes in the waiting room and maybe 10 minutes tops in the exam room. The AMC has taken care in continuing Dr. Gaddis' legacy in caring for our furry family members and they will do the same for yours. Read Less

We took both our dogs in for vaccinations that ended up costing me $106 for 4 of them plus a doc fee visit which I didn't kno about till after everything was said n done but we also needed to get the nail of our brindle pup checked out since she had cracked it n the doctor said it would cost $300 to sedate her n clip it back.... Horrible place do NOT ever take your pets here for any reason! Brought my dog in for extreme body pain, a massive lump and seizures that started out of nowhere. They ran several tests, could not find anything wrong, So I ask the doctor do you have any ideas as to what is causing such severe pain and his explanation was well maybe he fell in to a hole. Fell in a hole!?! Are you kidding me? That's the best conclusion you can come up with? I was in town to visit inlaws and my dog needed a dental. I took my chuwawa Niko in for a check up because my brother in law has been using these guys for years with problems I thought I would check them out. Too my surprise I got a full dental with one extractions for under $200 most places charge $250 for a simple dental and no extractions. I would say that they are very economical and that makes up for any shortcomings. At any rate the receptionist was efficient and was very personable. Read Less

Came in for a simple shelter vet checkup that we scheduled the night before because our kitten was sneezing and coughing. There was no one else there but we ended up waiting in the exam room for about 50 minutes. The whole time waiting for something to happen, I hear the two front girls talking about who they want to screw next and that everything will be ok because she's on the pill. After hearing all of this, another person came in with a dog. The receptionist peeks her head in our room and then quickly closes it and says, "oh they are still here." Then she runs around to the back of our room and scolds the DR telling her she needs to see us right now and that she doesn't care if she has taken her lunch yet or not. Dr comes in, looks at our animal for 1 minute and does no tests or anything else. We leave with antibiotics for her sneezing and are sent our way.I understand this is the desert, but the lack of care and personal conversations and everything else make me me believe this place is a joke. I take my animals to this vet regularly and I've never met a kinder staff. The place can get busy, but no prob with appointment. Also, they recommend pain mess and all these things which are extra for surgeries- get them, seriously I wouldn't want no pain mess if I had gone through surgery. These guys are always there and have been around the deser for at least 20 years. Recommend them to anyone. Be sure to ask about specials and stuff cause they run things from time to time time that are not bad on the wallet. Read Less

Took my dog in for the 1st time and requested s/q fluids only due to the fact I had limited funds. Was seen by a lady doc, camp, I think & tried to show her our treatment receipt and explain that we had taken our dog to another Dr two weeks ago and they couldn't diagnose because we couldn't afford xray after the initial $400 bill. She wouldn't even listen to me, said very rudely"that doesn't tell me anything". When she was feeling & grabbing him I said its OK to comfort him & again very rudely she said "no, it's not OK". This Dr is very snappy, rude, inconsiderate, uncompassionate and just plain awful people skills. Not questioning ability here but a little care and compassion makes the difference whether I come back or not. I almost didn't go in the first place because of so many bad reviews on yelp, probably because they all got that awful doc too. Only the tech tony that helped us after was super awesome and helped us out, was caring and offset that awful doc. If I do go back it's because he was friendly and I will def see another doc. To the owners of the clinic, she might want to change her attitude because you will lose a lot of business because of her. Read Less

This place is a scam. The initial cost for my pups broken arm was reasonable, but they try to scare you to get the $2000 surgery with the specialist. Then make you feel like crap because you opt out. then the weekly bandage changes where ridiculously pricy and increasing. They wanted to charge $164 for the 3rd visit for sedation, xrays, and change bandages. I took him home and undid their bandages and to my surprise, the bottom layer of the bandage had never been changed and smelled rotten. Pissed me off. STAY AWAY FROM MICHAEL SAGARTZ. Because of his laziness, lack of animal health interest, and only interest of MONEY, my poor dog is being euthanized. Tonight I did have an encounter with a great vet named DOCTOR KAMPS shes TRULY trying her best to figure out what is wrong with my boxer so my family and I have some closure. I recommend her and think you should RUN AWAY FROM MICHAEL SAGARTZ. He did an unnecessary surgery on my dog that just made him worse.. The surgery had NOTHING TO DO WITH MY DOGS HEALTH! He completely ignored a giant mass pushing my dogs intestines up towards his chest. Everything at this place is good EXCEPT FOR HIM. Again, I highly recommend Doctor Kamps. R.I.P Apollo.Read Less

I came in here in the middle of the week to an empty waiting room. My dog had passed a lot of blood that day and I was really worried. I spent about two hours in here trying to get a 10 minute blood test done. Around one hour and 45 minutes I asked the secretary for a bill so I can pay and leave. She walked away and after about 10 to 15 more minutes of me leaning on the counter I gathered my things and walked out. They sent the bill to collections which I was happy to pay because the collector will get a percentage of their money. The vet has changed owners take your pet somewhere else. Read Less
