I took in my reticulated python to see the vet because I was worried he had a respiratory infection. I was worried because this was the first vet to ever see one of my snakes so I was very cautious and worried the vet wouldn't be knowledgeable with reptiles, let alone snakes. HOWEVER, I was truly relieved when Dr. McClain walked in and asked all the right questions. She knows what she's talking about with snakes and she very swiftly gained my trust with the knowledge she had. I've heard horror stories about "exotic vets" that really don't know anything except for the usual dogs and cats and maybe guinea pigs. She's DEFINITELY an exception and I highly recommend her! Dr. Julie and her staff came highly recommended to me and when I arrived at the their office I understood why. My Saroya is a Chinese Crested Powder-puff who was having trouble breathing. She would go into a gagging then pass out. Dr. Julie ran some test on her and showed me everything after with a gentle and caring explanation. I felt her love for animals by the way she explained things to me. I will never take my Saroya anywhere else. The staff was also very loving to Saroya and knew I was scared and comforted me as well. On April 2014, after a post spaying check up, the staff here did not properly lock my cat's pet carrier and she escaped and ran away. We were not able to find her and she was not able to come back home 4.5 miles away. They were negligent and when I talked and complained to them, they were trying to put the blame on us!! Read Less

It's so sad how insensitive people are in this world maybe that person should stop worrying about there self and put them self in other people's shoes, there are some animals that can't mobilize well when there ready to leave us and there are some people that would like to take there animals back to there home to lay them to rest. Awesome place with awesome staff who care about your animal. My dog just got neutered 4 days ago and hasn't felt good, took him to another vet that said he was fine and sent me on my way. Went here, they gave him an anti-inflammatory shot and he's much better! He actually wants to drink now! This is my vet for now on. Read Less

This was my first time here and when I walked in I was greeted by two very friendly receptionist. I then was introduced to Dr. Dan who examined my 4 mo. old german shepherd and really took his time listening to my questions and concerns regarding his ears, feeding habits, training etc. I was so impressed with his kindness, his gentleness with my puppy, and his knowledge. This morning our guinea pig Star died. I started calling animal hospitals to get help making arrangements for our beloved pet. It was disappointing on how insensitive the other hospitals were. Some told me, "We don't deal with Guinea Pigs only Dogs and Cats. Have a nice day." It bothered me that when I requested Stars paws to be printed with ink on paper they told me, "We don't do that but you can get one (meaning one paw) ceramic one for $25 on top of the $60 for care of remains. I was so upset! Next on the list was Desert Care Animal Hospital. Employee Kathy answered my call; so I explained to her what happened along with what I would like to do. She was so sweet and expressed condolences. Kathy said, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I had to fight back the flood of tears. Kathy answered all my questions regarding the Care of Remains. I was so grateful for her attitude toward my situation. So I decided to take Star in. The staff was extremely friendly and considerate toward me as well as my daughter. They gave us a moment to say our final good bye. It cost $30 to have our beloved Star cremated and laid to rest in a garden. Then on top of it all they made imprints of Star's paws then came and asked me if I liked it or did I want it centered more. I instructed the employee on where I wanted her prints on the paper; that's when she went back and carefully printed all of Stars paws on paper that I provided at no extra cost.
