Regret ever taking my pups there in the first place. ENTIRE office is extremely rude. They don't have any respect for their customers and their pets. They judge you for what type of animal/breed you have. The girls at the front desk get frustrated with you if you ask them any questions. Vets (specifically the older white gentleman) there will rush to prescribe your pet medicine just so they can make a quick (overpriced) sale and have no concern for the health of your pet whatsoever. After waiting in the freezing cold room for over an hour, even though I had an appointment, I do not recommend this place. Dirty and sketchy office. Plus they are wayyyy over priced. The dr didn't help the situation with my dogs ear and I went to a different place and the same draining of the blood blister was more then half the price cheaper then it was here. Would never go back. I had a feeling I should have walked out and that's why you always go with your gut. Such a waist of money and my poor dogs ear got worse. Do NOT recommend this office at all. I had a hard time finding this vet again when I got my current dogs - their website needs some work.  But find them I did and my senior rescue dogs have had extensive dental work done at a really reasonable price.  I feel like Dr. Girghis really does want to take care of the animals more than his bottom line, but I still told him to get the website spruced up because so many other vets are trying to play off the name.  They've been in business here since 1953.  I'm really happy to have dogs again, and to get back to HBVet. I was really pleased upon entering the Huntington Beach Veterinary Hospital. The front desk (Bridgette) was very helpful and I was able to get my pet's first examination free. Dr Gurgis and his team were kind and efficient. I felt my Bichon was in very capable hands. The prices were reasonable, the office clean and clean smelling! This hospital also is a boarding place for pets. I saw one dog run in excited to be a boarder! I plan to continue bringing my dog here from now on! Read Less

I AM TAKING MY KITTENS HERE EVERYTIME NOW. April was so amazing at taking care of my baby cats. The poor things were infested with fleas and she took almost all of them off ! She even gave me a 2 for 1 deal on the showers so it was really cheap. I believe it's 38 dollars for regular sized cats ? After the shower I was surprised to here that she had no problem showering them ( because trust me I've tried and THEY ARE A HASSLE ) and she gave me this great treatment to help my cats keep the fleas off and kill the remaining ones. Let me start by saying how happy I am that I came here. Right away when you walk in the ladies at the front desk are just so nice and caring. Dr. Sheppard is seriously the cat whisperer. My cat hates to be held or touched on his belly and the doc was able to get him to relax so he could examine him. This is the best place around and can't beat the prices either. Our dog was hit by a car and we brought him to Huntington Beach Veterinary Hospital. We were all very shaken by the experience and they were so kind, understanding and professional. Not only did they deal his immediate needs from the accident but they also found some other pre-existing issues he had. We moved to HB one year ago and found this spot for daycare. My French bulldog has been coming here for over a year now, and he jumps right out of the car and runs to the door where they let him back for daycare. He loves it. Bridget, Gale, and the rest of the girls at the front are always very helpful and nice, and all know Captain (my dog). The daycare isn't fancy, but... they're dogs! They get to play, run around, and best of all he's exhausted by the time he comes home. Mission accomplished. You can't beat the pricing for daycare here which is what we love, and they offer half days which is very much appreciated! You don't have to empty your pockets for your dog to be socialized and have fun. I definitely recommend them. Read Less

My dog plays here 5 days a week while I work. He LOVES it, and can't wait to see his buddies Albert and Louis every morning. I can see the yard from my upstairs classroom across the street, and can see that he is well cared for and having lots of fun. The front office staff is loving and has been very helpful, especially when we were faced with an emergency medical situation a few months ago. What an awkward animal hospital. After being a loyal Banfield member in Texas I was very displeased with the service here in CA so I came here to take my puppy for his first round of shots. I scheduled appointments for my three dogs and the day before I called to confirm my appointment and they said I could only bring one in. When I finally arrived with my puppy the ladies were civil at best and I got ushered into a small room with a patio sliding door. Everything looked dirty and I felt like I should have made a run for it. My puppy needed a first exam and I was quoted for two shots. They did not do a thorough exam..literally finished in 3 minutes and then went ahead and administered two shots..without confirming with me before they did it. When I went up to pay they ended up giving him a shot I didn't approve of before I went in. I am VERY displeased with the lack of care these people exhibited towards me and my dog. I will not be returning and I advise everyone who's thinking of coming here to find a cleanlier place where they will treat your furbabies better. Read Less

My dog, Fenway, had been with HB Pet Vet since I brought her home almost 6 years ago but after last month when she became sick the HB Pet Vet staff was how they€ve always been the entire 6 years: lack of organization and poor customer service. I understand that facility was in high demand but my dog and I deserved better than that. Cut to Fenway getting sick this week. When I decided she needed to be seen by a doctor I was about to take her back to HB Pet Vet. Thankfully my intuition told me no and to seek new help. I researched other Vet€s in my area and HB Veterinary Hospital came up. I read the google reviews and decided to give them a call. I€m so glad I did! When I took Fenway in she was skittish for the first 10 min but after that she liked the facility and warmed up to the staff (this never happened at HB Pet Vet). She had to stay overnight and when I left her ears remained straight up and not pushed back. This was a good sign to me. Dr. Girgis is the best! He took time to explain to me what was wrong and the various possible outcomes. The entire staff took excellent care of Fenway. My daughter and I are so happy I decided to try HB Veterinary Hospital. The staff/facility will be Fenway€s medical staff for the rest of her life. Thank you so much for curing Fenway. Thank you so much for being so patient, kind and compassionate to us. The Vet is honest and lets me know when my dog or cat need more invasive care and when a less stringent option is possible. There are not enough good things I can say about Huntington Beach Veterinary Hospital. We came here under a very uncertain and scary time as we returned from a trip and found our dog very ill. While we waited to see what was going on with our dog the entire staff that we encountered made the process easier with their kindness, willingness to listen to our concerns, and loving on our dog from the minute we walked through the door. We had the pleasure of working with Dr. Girgis, who is kind, honest, and cautious when it comes to making decisions about his patients. He allowed us the option to perform the less invasive option for our dog first (his preference), and when that was not working, he then went to the alternative, which was surgery. He made it very clear that he wanted what was best for our dog and it was clear to us that he was a doctor who was driven by his love for animals, not for the love of money. Dr. Girgis and his staff frequently updated us on our dogs health and allowed us to come visit him any time we wanted. When we did visit our dog the staff ensured that we had a room to ourselves with a blanket for the dog, they never rushed us out and even came in to talk and provide comfort. They also ensured that once he was stable that he returned home as they believe that animals heal the best and fastest when in the comfort of their own home (we couldnt agree more!) Since our dog's initial visit we have continuously received wonderful service and care. This office is busy with many animals entrusted in their care, but despite this the staff always has treated us like we are their most special and important patients. We had dropped off our two dogs to stay for a few nights. Within hours they had let the dogs escape. luckily a good samaritan found one of the dogs, and called the number on the tags. The vet did not notify us that the dogs were missing. In the end the vet did nothing to help the situation. Bottom line is that you care about you animals, don't leave them here. Read Less

Dr. Sheppard and the crew are very caring and good at what they do. We have 2 cats and 1 dog. One cat has been getting into fights and has needed care immediately twice.
