We just adopted a rescue dog and he stopped eating and drinking. We thought it was stress from his new environment at first, but after a few days we realized he was sick and getting worse. It was a sunday and our regular vet was closed so we called 3 different vets open on sunday and chose Imperial Beach Pet Hospital.
The staff was friendly and professional, the facility is clean, and having separate entrances for cats and dogs is nice. The vet tech was great, as was the vet Dr. Osborne.
Thank goodness this place was open on sunday! Our poor dog has parvo. The symptoms werent too bad yet so we never suspected that would be the diagnosis. Our dog was given fluids and injections to control various symptoms and we were sent home with a small arsenal of drugs and an IV so we can treat him at home. Dr. Osborne explained everything, and she provided everything in writing as well. We felt very informed and able to tackle his care at home. He's still lethargic, but he hasn't been sick since his visit so the meds are working. He's resting comfortably and hopefully on the way to a full recovery.
We're so grateful they were open, the cost was reasonable and the staff were great. They even waived the initial exam fee because our boy is a rescue. Initially we just wanted him to be treated to get him through 24 hours till we could take him to our regular vet, but now we will be bringing our other dog to IB as well. Thank you!

I had a wonderful experience taking my friends dog in for a check up. He ended up having an ear infection and they were extremely helpful with giving me information on what I needed to do to fix the problem (I know nothing about dogs). My son fell asleep on their couch and the staff was so gracious with helping with the door. All in all great experience!

I am very happy with this animal hospital! I was able to get an appointment quickly which is great because I had a sick kitten. The staff was very friendly and the doctor spent a good amount of time in the examination and with me explaining what was going on and what options I have for treatment. There was plenty of parking on site and overflow on the street. The office is being renovated and it looks like it's going to be very nicely done. I definitely recommend bringing your pets here I felt they truly cared for the well-being of my kitten!

The quality of service at IB Pet Hospital is truly 5 stars. Our dog Halo means more to us than anything and I would never dream of taking her anywhere else. The staff there are professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. We have been taking Halo here for years and had surgeries needed for her with great success. They truly care about animals and it shows. The veterinarians are superb and the staff go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and that makes a huge difference. I really enjoyed the receptionist and the girl who first helped up out but the veterinarian that was assigned to us was really not that great with my dog. I had taken my dog in for a first-time pet exam so my dog was obviously really nervous. He normally is really shy and gets startled easily around new people and I let her know that up front but she just kept saying that he was poorly trained and was pretty condescending about how she was talking about him to us. I would recommend this place overall, but I would not recommend the female vet that helped us. Maybe she was having a bad day, i'm not sure, but she could've taken more time to get to know my dog before jumping to conclusions and treating him like a bad dog.

I had taken my dog in for a first-time pet exam so my dog was obviously really nervous. I have only visited once, but the staff were all incredibly nice. I took a homeless cat that I feed in, he was in very bad shape. Doc diagnosed him with kidney failure and I had to put him down. I was there for TWO HOURS deciding and keeping the little man warm/comfortable. It was an incredibly tough and sad decision but the staff were all very nice and understanding, I appreciate their love for animals and I will go back with my other cats. I will say that they aren't the most techy office but the doctor was incredibly knowledgeable , had a great bedside manner and explained everything to me in layman terms.

Brought my cat in with an abscess. I had been going to another local vet for years but was told about The Imperial Beach Pet Hospital by a friend. What a wonderful facility! From the moment I phoned all panicky, they were so kind to me. The facility was clean, the girls were great with my cat! Imani was so sweet and truly loved animals! The vet was amazing!! Dr. Laing was compassionate and understanding. She took her time with my cat and didn't "push" procedures that make you feel like a bad pet owner if you don't do. It has been a great experience at IB Pet Hospital. I will continue to use this facility for both of my cats and highly recommend it to all my friends and family.

I love doctor Osborne and the staff here. We've been going to them since 2013 when we first adopted our pup Axel.When we went in for shots doctor Osborne asked us where we lived, where we plan to take both our boys, and what we did for fun. She then gave us a run down on what shots we would need and when we asked about other shots she actually told us that they didn't need all of them! She's very helpful and never wants to put our pups on medicine when they don't need to be and explains why some shots aren't for normal dogs.Our boys have been to her for everything between initial shots to checking for seizures. She's been so helpful to us and the best vet that we have found.They also offer military discount and treats for the pups.

This place took my cat in as a new patient on the same day I called which is awesome. The $30 Yelp deal I used was 100% worth it because at a $55 value it almost covered the cost of the visit. I did have to pay more for visit and then for meds as is normal for vets. I turned down a lot of what the doc recommended (ex: food they sell there at office which she wrote as part of prescription). The staff is nice. Dr. Osborn was the vet on duty that day. She was good with my cat. I don't really have any complaints. We were there for a few hours though which seemed pretty long for a checkup without blood or lab work. Although it didn't appear to be busy it might have been because of same day appointment, not sure.

I am so happy I found this place. It may not look like much but the people here are awesome. Maureen at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. Dr McCoy is a great doctor, did a thorough exam and was really interesting to talk to. The doc suggested some blood work because my dog is a senior now (totally normal and routine). But he made sure not to pressure me, In fact he asked if I wanted to take an estimate home so I could discuss it with my spouse first. The whole staff was cool with me waiting which was a nice change from the other veterinarian place I had gone to. Plus their vaccines are good for 3 years! Their prices are extremely affordable (especially compared to others locally). I am so happy to have tried this place out. I'm looking forward to future visits.

My little kitty had to have some teeth taken out and so I was sent here by the cat rescue to get the procedure done. I will say straight away that the vet might not be seemingly very friendly but she is pretty darn good. I deal with a lot of Dr's so I am used to their different styles. She is not a people person, she is an animal person. She is also into the surgical side of her work and not so much the clinical side. This is actually pretty common and I know this bothers a lot of people but it really shouldn't. You don't need a vet to be your best friend, you need a vet to help your animal get the best possible outcome available. The staff are pretty good aside from one man I had to speak with about the after care for my animal. He treated me like he had just helped me up after I had fallen head first off of a turnip truck. I may have asked basic questions but I wanted to make sure I got it right, and it's not like it isn't his job to prep owners so that they are giving the best aftercare. Anyway, as he was talking to me in a super condescending manner... I silently wondered if he thought the bleach I use on my hair had breached the blood brain barrier and had left me with nothing but air in my head. I dunno... dude was seriously a div. What matters? The outcome. That is what matters and they were able to save a lot of my kitties teeth. She has nice pink healthy gums now, and I believe they did a great job on her.

Absolutely love this place. I've taken all three of my dogs here and they treat the babies with so much love that our dogs don't mind going with the nurses even though they don't have a treat in their hand! We've been to other places in the area but we have never gotten the help, the kindness and the love that we got from IB Pet Hospital. They're understanding and I think that's the best part, they know what you're going through and they a sympathetic to your needs.

The staff are very kind and caring here, but I believe McCoy is a bit senile. If you want quality care, go to Coronado. Dr. McCoy spent most of our visit in a confused state being told by his receptionist what to do; the assistant was clearly accustomed to directing him in simple matters and did not have much respect for him. Ultimately, my cat died due to lack of knowledgeable care and she collapsed after the visit because we waited about 2 hours in the waiting room to see a Vet. I have taken all my cats to Coronado since that time.

I had a wonderful experience taking my friends dog in for a check up. He ended up having an ear infection and they were extremely helpful with giving me information on what I needed to do to fix the problem (I know nothing about dogs). My son fell asleep on their couch and the staff was so gracious with helping with the door. All in all great experience!

I am very happy with this animal hospital! I was able to get an appointment quickly which is great because I had a sick kitten. The staff was very friendly and the doctor spent a good amount of time in the examination and with me explaining what was going on and what options I have for treatment. There was plenty of parking on site and overflow on the street. The office is being renovated and it looks like it's going to be very nicely done. I definitely recommend bringing your pets here I felt they truly cared for the well-being of my kitten!

The quality of service at IB Pet Hospital is truly 5 stars. Our dog Halo means more to us than anything and I would never dream of taking her anywhere else. The staff there are professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. We have been taking Halo here for years and had surgeries needed for her with great success. They truly care about animals and it shows. The veterinarians are superb and the staff go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and that makes a huge difference. I really enjoyed the receptionist and the girl who first helped up out but the veterinarian that was assigned to us was really not that great with my dog. I had taken my dog in for a first-time pet exam so my dog was obviously really nervous. He normally is really shy and gets startled easily around new people and I let her know that up front but she just kept saying that he was poorly trained and was pretty condescending about how she was talking about him to us. I would recommend this place overall, but I would not recommend the female vet that helped us. Maybe she was having a bad day, i'm not sure, but she could've taken more time to get to know my dog before jumping to conclusions and treating him like a bad dog.

I had taken my dog in for a first-time pet exam so my dog was obviously really nervous. I have only visited once, but the staff were all incredibly nice. I took a homeless cat that I feed in, he was in very bad shape. Doc diagnosed him with kidney failure and I had to put him down. I was there for TWO HOURS deciding and keeping the little man warm/comfortable. It was an incredibly tough and sad decision but the staff were all very nice and understanding, I appreciate their love for animals and I will go back with my other cats. I will say that they aren't the most techy office but the doctor was incredibly knowledgeable , had a great bedside manner and explained everything to me in layman terms.

Brought my cat in with an abscess. I had been going to another local vet for years but was told about The Imperial Beach Pet Hospital by a friend. What a wonderful facility! From the moment I phoned all panicky, they were so kind to me. The facility was clean, the girls were great with my cat! Imani was so sweet and truly loved animals! The vet was amazing!! Dr. Laing was compassionate and understanding. She took her time with my cat and didn't "push" procedures that make you feel like a bad pet owner if you don't do. It has been a great experience at IB Pet Hospital. I will continue to use this facility for both of my cats and highly recommend it to all my friends and family.

I love doctor Osborne and the staff here. We've been going to them since 2013 when we first adopted our pup Axel.When we went in for shots doctor Osborne asked us where we lived, where we plan to take both our boys, and what we did for fun. She then gave us a run down on what shots we would need and when we asked about other shots she actually told us that they didn't need all of them! She's very helpful and never wants to put our pups on medicine when they don't need to be and explains why some shots aren't for normal dogs.Our boys have been to her for everything between initial shots to checking for seizures. She's been so helpful to us and the best vet that we have found.They also offer military discount and treats for the pups.

This place took my cat in as a new patient on the same day I called which is awesome. The $30 Yelp deal I used was 100% worth it because at a $55 value it almost covered the cost of the visit. I did have to pay more for visit and then for meds as is normal for vets. I turned down a lot of what the doc recommended (ex: food they sell there at office which she wrote as part of prescription). The staff is nice. Dr. Osborn was the vet on duty that day. She was good with my cat. I don't really have any complaints. We were there for a few hours though which seemed pretty long for a checkup without blood or lab work. Although it didn't appear to be busy it might have been because of same day appointment, not sure.

I am so happy I found this place. It may not look like much but the people here are awesome. Maureen at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. Dr McCoy is a great doctor, did a thorough exam and was really interesting to talk to. The doc suggested some blood work because my dog is a senior now (totally normal and routine). But he made sure not to pressure me, In fact he asked if I wanted to take an estimate home so I could discuss it with my spouse first. The whole staff was cool with me waiting which was a nice change from the other veterinarian place I had gone to. Plus their vaccines are good for 3 years! Their prices are extremely affordable (especially compared to others locally). I am so happy to have tried this place out. I'm looking forward to future visits.

My little kitty had to have some teeth taken out and so I was sent here by the cat rescue to get the procedure done. I will say straight away that the vet might not be seemingly very friendly but she is pretty darn good. I deal with a lot of Dr's so I am used to their different styles. She is not a people person, she is an animal person. She is also into the surgical side of her work and not so much the clinical side. This is actually pretty common and I know this bothers a lot of people but it really shouldn't. You don't need a vet to be your best friend, you need a vet to help your animal get the best possible outcome available. The staff are pretty good aside from one man I had to speak with about the after care for my animal. He treated me like he had just helped me up after I had fallen head first off of a turnip truck. I may have asked basic questions but I wanted to make sure I got it right, and it's not like it isn't his job to prep owners so that they are giving the best aftercare. Anyway, as he was talking to me in a super condescending manner... I silently wondered if he thought the bleach I use on my hair had breached the blood brain barrier and had left me with nothing but air in my head. I dunno... dude was seriously a div. What matters? The outcome. That is what matters and they were able to save a lot of my kitties teeth. She has nice pink healthy gums now, and I believe they did a great job on her.

We've been to other places in the area but we have never gotten the help, the kindness and the love that we got from IB Pet Hospital. The staff are very kind and caring here, but I believe McCoy is a bit senile. If you want quality care, go to Coronado. Dr. McCoy spent most of our visit in a confused state being told by his receptionist what to do; the assistant was clearly accustomed to directing him in simple matters and did not have much respect for him. Ultimately, my cat died due to lack of knowledgeable care and she collapsed after the visit because we waited about 2 hours in the waiting room to see a Vet. I have taken all my cats to Coronado since that time.
