Accolades:The staff is terrific-all of them: the vets, the front desk folks, and the Vet tech Rachel. The vet I see most often is Dr. Snyder who I believe is the director. Professional to the max.Friendly supportive knowledgeable. They give you written notes for meds instructions etc. My 22-year-old kitty Maddie is Getting the best care he has ever Had. We have been going here for years with our dog Treana and they took very good care of her. Today we had to take our cat Nema, 13 yrs old, in as she was sick. Dr Kay(I think) was such a compassionate, professional that guided us into making a very difficult decision. She really said and did all the right things. She even kissed her on the check as she took her back to be checked out. Wish they were a little less expensive but I will only take my pets here. Thanks Doc. The tech was super comforting too. They take excellent care of my dog and I am so glad I found them. My dog had a problem with her leg and I wasn't satisfied with the answer I was getting from her old vet who wouldn't even take x-rays of it. Irvine Vet Services took amazing care of her and walked us through every step. Two years later they still are taking wonderful care of her and make sure her leg is doing well after her surgery. Due to an emergency situation I had called in Sunday morning (1/08/17)  to ask if the Irvine Veterinary Services in Northpark had boarding availability. I spoke with Annette, and I have to say my experience was nothing but unpleasant. She was completely sounded completely disinterested, she was extremely curt and as a first time client I did not feel good leaving my puppy with these people. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Annette with "You didn't email his records", and I couldn't help but think that she is simply assuming i'm the same person who had called in. Furthermore, I don't believe that is any way to talk to any client, let alone first timers. Now I'm not saying I wished to be waited on hand and foot, but a little courtesy can go a long way. Annette was blunt over the phone and in person. Also none of the other people working there seemed to even acknowledge us. As I was handing over my puppy to Annette she made what seemed like a snide remark asking "Is he going to get along with us?", he's a year old puppy, what else is he going to do?I usually don't leave reviews for places or businesses unless it really merits sharing the experience. In this case, I can honestly say I'll never take my dog to this office again. Which is a shame because its a 5 minute walk from my home. But the initial impression from Annette is enough to keep me away. There was a young lady who helped me when I went to pick up my puppy who was very sweet and kind, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to disregard my terrible initial experience. Recently we had to make a very difficult choice... To help our little boy find peace and rest and go to sleep after 16 years of bringing us joy... I want to think Irvine veterinarian services for the compassion, helpfulness, and pain free Way... That they helped us put our little one to sleep. He has been under the care of this service of Irvine veterinarian ever since he was a puppy... 16 years... And he, each time when he would visit, would run with his tail wagging up to the door... He simply loved each and every member of the staff and the way he was treated.They go above and beyond to help each of our little ones... If they are furry, Feathered, or scaly... Irvine veterinarian services are there to help.Thank you again for helping us with our decision with our little lion King Pekingese... One of the hardest days of my life and yet the staff was full of sympathy and compassion and was not in any rush during the process... They allowed this situation to happen with dignity and peace... I've lived in Irvine for over 5 years and this place has been very convenient as far as distance. I had a boxer that I used to take to a good/knowledgable vet they HAD, Dr. Tiberi. Then she left and the rest of the vets are just so misinformed and mainstream vets that they don't know jack. I got another pup at 8 weeks, one vet told me she had "splayed digits," and that I needed to get X-rays ($200) and start treatment ($600), which I didn't do. I've been breeding dogs for 30 years and honestly trying not to smack some of these vets is a chore every time, of course that puppy was just a baby and not strong enough and fully developed yet, sure enough, she grew out of it. ($600 saved there) then I got another pup, Olde English Bulldogge, which isn't an English bulldog, had this other vet giving me a lecture for 30 minutes about how unhealthy they are and all the health issues, B$#%C do you realize I just spent $6k on a dog and am excited, just here to get his vaccines and don't want you to tell me how messed up this dog is gonna be, which you don't even know the breed of? She should have just asked if I'd done my research. Done and done. Then recently wanted to neutere another dog which I don't use in my breeding program so he could just be a pet and lay on the couch, charge for neutering ($450) and he has to stay over night, I said they're outta their minds if they think ill ever let my baby spend the night away from his pack, contrary to common misconception, breeders love their dogs on a whole different level, they're not pet owners, they're, most of them, obsessive dog loveeeeers!Anyways, long story short, everything is way over priced and their vets seem to get their knowledge from Wikipedia.. Only vet that's amazing  and very honest and actually knowledgable that id still see is dr.Sneider, if you can't go see her, wait until she's available, if you still want to pay 10 times the normal cost and basically just pay their rent, everyone else is nice, but when it comes to my dog's health, nice doesn't cut it, I need knowledge that can top mine and prices that make frequent checkups and wellness exams worthy, so I don't have to neglect those things and risk my baby's health due to their insanely unnecessary high costs. P.s I got my dog neutered at Alicia pet clinic for $100, with a free dr visit and pain meds to go home with and all the other bs this place claims to do better. Oh and most importantly, I hate that they take dogs in the back to give shots to, like what are you doing that you can't do in front of me if you're not man handling my dog back there. Shady. An incredibly attentive and gracious staff. Dr. Snyder is one of the best Vets I've ever known. The groomer has personally taken care of three of my last Westies. We've been taking our babies to IVS for over 11 years now. They have taken care of three dogs through routine care and emergencies. At all times Sharon and her crew have made us feel like family. All of the vets have been caring and taken whatever time is needed to help us through crises through the years, even over the phone when we were out of town. When we lost one of our babies, everyone in the office cried with us. They supported us through that period and then helped us find our newest baby from a rescue recommended by one of the vets. He is now being groomed at IVS and looks awesome and happy when he leaves there. We have taken dogs and cats to several vet offices over the years; we are happy to have found IVS. Read Less

The Customer Service is very good! The Front Desk Girls are very nice and smily every single time with us and my dog MATEO! I highly recomend for Boarding, I guess the Groomer service can definetely Improve, but she (the groomer) was a sweetheart calling back to improve her job next time! I've been taking my dogs and cats to IVS in Northwood for over 8 years now and couldn't be happier. We go for medical issues and grooming/boarding. The staff knows me and the critters and they treat us all well. The dogs are my babies and the staff respect that and care for them like the family members they are. The dogs are comfortable there and the grooming is always great. I never worry when I board them there either. I wouldn't go anywhere else for healthcare for my guys. Read Less

I have been taking my two dogs to this office for 6+ years. I feel like they are part of the family! Sharon and Dr.Snyder are the most honest, helpful, compassionate people I have ever known. I am always treated with respect ( no matter how anxious I am) and they do everything possible for my pets as well as me. No problem is treated lightly and I always feel heard. I know they put my dogs first and understand how much they mean to me! During a surgery one of my dogs had Dr. Snyder kept in touch with me the whole time and Sharon was so supportive that I was able to stay calm knowing he was in good hands. I'm ok with expensive provided that you get your money's worth-- that is not the case with this vet. They charge hundreds of dollars for procedures you can get elsewhere for a fraction of the price. On top of the expensive procedures, they try to sell you pet meds at a 100% markup. When you try to use an online pharmacy, they'll refuse to authorize the prescription over the phone or fax like every other vet does. Avoid them at all costs. Read Less

My Chihuahua was having severe diarrhea and vomiting for about 24 hrs when I decided to take my dog to the Irvine Veterinary Services located in Irvine. They said it was very important to bring her in. After running a blood panel, and testing her poop, I was just told to take her home and give her a pill that was to help her tummy. For this I received a $361.00 bill. Come to find out this is common and instead of them telling be to wait a couple days and feed her rice and give her plenty of fluids they said I needed to rush her in so we couple make sure she was ok. Do not bring your pet here. My dog hurt its leg in the late afternoon and I called to find out if they could see me. They told me to come in right away because the doctors were on their way out. I said I was coming and would be there in under 10 min. I made it in the time I had said but when I got there I was treated like they had no idea what I was talking about and said ""the doctors want to go home and can't help you tonight"". Obviously this made me upset, more so than I am proud of, but it was ridiculous. Finally after getting angry they decided to help me like they had originally agreed to. i told them right were my dog hurt but it took them about 30 min to figure it out, eventually realizing that I knew what I was talking about. then they x-rayed her, saw no breaks, but put a huge splint on her. i can understand the precaution, but the thing was too big for a corgi puppy. On my way out the lady at the front desk wanted to lecture me on not getting upset. I explained that they didn't show any concern for my pet and that they were blowing me off. She had no idea what I was saying. I then immediately took my dog to a different vet and they removed the splint right away saying that it could have hurt the puppy's hip. Terribly overpriced. Refuses to participate in online pet med sites (most likely so that they can charge you extra - for a year's supply of heartworm preventative they were charging $30.00 more)! They gave my dog a physical exam, but didn't give him all the shots he needed, which they then told me when I took him in for grooming. So, of course, I had to pay for an extra exam. Very unhappy with the overall service. But, they are friendly as they rip you off! Read Less

My cat suffered needlessly. I spent thousands of dollars to help my cat. My cat lingered in agony for days while they ran worthless tests to figure out that my cat was very sick with liver disease. My cat went days without nourishment. He could have been saved had they been interested in treating my cat rather running tests. Their response was always slow in coming. In reptrospect, my cat should have been given a transfusion and a feeding tube immediately upon seeing him. But no, that might have cured my cat! Which meant fewer tests for them to run. After all, my cat was nothing more than a labratory experiment to them! Never again! Read Less

When I call ahead to schedule a check-up, the staff is friendly and the time is convenient. Once I arrived, I waited about 5 minutes before seeing the doc. The doc is very knowledgeable and super nice. When I told her that I'm a first time owner, she provided a package full of information and answered some of my questions. The clinic is very clean and modern. My puppy absolutely loves this place. A few days after the visit, I received a phone call to ask how my puppy is doing and a mail survey for the quality of their service. One drawback: the price is somewhat expansive. Read Less
