This veterinary hospital is the best. The staff is kind, supportive and treat you with great respect. Dr. Allen shows loving compassion for the animals and families she works with as well as having a tremendous knowledge of medicine. Dr. Allen's natural way and love for animals makes them feel less stressed and the families feel at ease. This hospital cares about each and every animal that comes through their doors and does whatever needed to help them heal. Dr. Allen listens with care to what is needed by the families as well as providing the best care for their pet.

Only clinic in Amador County that has 1x mo vaccine clinics. I'm able to get the Rattlesnake Vaccine for my pups without having to do an exam which is a huge plus. Also a huge thank you to Dr. Mary who saw my girl last minute on a vaccine clinic day. It was crazy busy; she treated her split toe nail which saved us a trip to Sacramento and extra long wait l. Glad to know we have a back up clinic in the area. Staff is also super nice even on crazy busy days.

We love Dr. Allen! She obviously cares deeply about the animals. As soon as she walks in, she gets down on the animal's level, touches them gently, and speaks to them in a soft, soothing voice. Her movements are slow & deliberate and even our scaredy-cat is at ease with her. We have four cats and a shih tzu and they all like her. The staff are always friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend this vet's office.

What I like about these folks is they are competent and effective in caring for your pets. I have had a vet here locally who is great at fawning over your pet but miserable in the care area. I prefer skill and competence. That's what I find here at Blue Oak. Additionally, they suggest the most reasonable course of treatment not the most expensive. No surprise fees or charges either such as the ridiculous "emergency fee" when the facility says your pet can come in on the same day which occurs at another local facility. Last but not least, the Doctor tells you what treatment was needed and/or performed which helps me to understand what was medically necessary and why.

Dr. Mary Allen is the only vet I ever want to see my service dog. When I found my dog as a pup, the owner said that she was born by C-section at Blue Oak by Mary Allen. My sevice dog is a Chihuahua and has saved my life. I have had other dog and cats and when their time comes, Doc Mary has such a great compassion for the humans and takes the worst part of loving an animal and makes it as comforting as possible for both pet and owner. She has sat on the floor with my big dogs, given me a towel or blanket so I can hold the smaller ones untilI they pass so gently.

We have been to Blue Oak three times since we moved to Valley Springs in June. Two of those visits have been with Dr. Allen, who has an absolutely amazing way with the animals! She moves slowly, talks softly, handles gently, and pays very close attention to how the animal is responding. I love that our animals are completely at ease with her! Even Leo, our big scaredy-cat cat, started purring as soon as she touched him. He usually freaks out when strangers even come near him. The other visit was an emergency amputation of our other cat's tail and was handled by Dr. Hall, who calmly explained exactly what needed to happen and put us at ease before she took our sweet girl into the surgery room. Every time someone asks what vet in Valley Springs we recommend, I say Blue Oak in Jackson. :)

I am also thrilled to report that Charlie is already eating again! :) The whole staff was so caring and considerate. A group of very sweet people. We love Dr. Allen! She obviously cares deeply about the animals. As soon as she walks in, she gets down on the animal's level, touches them gently, and speaks to them in a soft, soothing voice. I prefer skill and competence. That's what I find here at Blue Oak. Additionally, they suggest the most reasonable course of treatment not the most expensive. My sevice dog is a Chihuahua and has saved my life. We have been to Blue Oak three times since we moved to Valley Springs in June. Two of those visits have been with Dr. Allen, who has an absolutely amazing way with the animals! The best Vet in town. I have been in Ione for 18 years. Mary has been my overall only vet for my Chihuahua family for at least 15 years. She is the most honest and dedicated Vet I have ever had. Blue Oak Veterinary Hospital is great! Dr Mary is great! She is caring, honest, straight forward and cuts to the chase. I really appreciate that. I am also thrilled to report that Charlie is already eating again! :) The whole staff was so caring and considerate. A group of very sweet people. I never wish my animals to be sick, but now that I've found this hospital I believe all will be well. Thank you all so much!
