I just left the Kingsburg Veterinary Hospital. My cat had a problem with her right eye. I feared that she had something in her eye. I called at 8:10 am on a SATURDAY!!. I got an appointment for 8:45. Since I live only 7 minutes away this was great. I had already given my info over the phone so when I went in all was ready. They were very busy but I still got into my appointment only about 5 minutes late. After sitting in the treatment room for about 15 minutes Dr. Emily Lane came in and immediately saw the problem. She grabbed what she need and in less than a minute pull a full size foxtail out of my cat's eye. My cat was immediately looking around with both eyes and seemed to be a lot better. I was expecting to pay a lot for the service and was pleasantly surprised at the fees. I had read on their comprehensive website that vaccinations was highly recommended. Dr. Lane mentioned giving my cat a rabies vaccination and told me the price. I, again, was pleasantly surprised. I immediately agreed and the shot was given professionally, painlessly and quickly. She was terribly busy but still took the time to answer a couple and listen to a bad joke. About 2 minutes later the bill was paid and I was happy and then out of there. This place always accepts my dogs when it's inconvenient without any burden. The staff is extremely nice and work their butts off to get everyone seen. Just a few days ago I came home from work to find our sweet, beloved border collie unable to move and clearly in pain. I got her to the Kingsburg Vet as soon as I could, but she passed before we arrived. I was absolutely devastated and still am, but I will always appreciate the kindness and genuine sympathy I received from Dr. Nicholas. He explained to me what had happened to her, and let me ask all the questions I needed. I can say now that gave me some much needed closure. I'm sure any vet's office sees their share of occurrences like mine, but it really means so much to be treated with that kind of understanding after losing a dog that meant so much to my family & me. Our dog died after going there. Went in for something minor but had a reaction to the medication and the "vet" didn't catch on in time. She died and after her death we were told by a very experienced vet that she had all the symptoms of tramadol rejection in dogs. BEWARE!!!! My little girl is gone now but take yours elsewhere or ask for the vet with experience. My girl was my all and I will forever regret going to this place. I see they have good reviews so maybe it was just bad luck for us. I will personally feel sick when I pass by this place the rest of my life. This was my 3rd vet in 3 days trying to figure out what was wrong with my cat. My family vet (who I haven't been happy with for a while) did a blood panel & physical exam and argued that there was nothing wrong with her. I knew better! I found this place open on a Saturday. They were able to squeeze us in that morning. Check-in was easy, girls at the front desk were nice & we were roomed fairly quickly. I loved the vet! She listened to my concerns, asked a lot of questions, and payed lots of attention to my cat. I left with some answers and with a follow up plan if the meds do not work. I have been taking all my dogs here for 13 years and the doctors are very excellent but the personal that they have now in the front desk are so rude in person and over the phone specially one new girl that they have. It's been a while since we paid a visit here; they've since moved to a different bldg next door & the new digs are pretty sweet.  The waiting room is huge & there's a small kid friendly room next to it.  I didn't have any problems making an appt the week before; staff was professional & polite while making the appt & during the appt.  Our wait time was reasonable (10 min?).  I kept finding blood spots on my counter; concerned, I took my cat in & horror of horrors, Dr. Nicholas was able to solve our issue pretty quickly - fleas (bastards).  We've only seen Dr. Nicholas in the past & he is awesome each time.  He takes his time w/ our cat explaining/answering our questions.  It's definitely not a rush in/rush out kind of scenario like say, when I go to urgent care.  Our office visit was $39.00.  Just a FYI - they no longer offer flea dips, but of course, they sell frontline plus/advantage over the counter.  Definitely worth the drive from Hanford to Kingsburg!! I just want to say I loved the Kingsburg vet when it was owed by Dr. Meyer. The first time I saw one of the new vets, he belittled me, told me in the waiting room my cat would have to be put down and when I started crying and ran out of kleenex could not even offer me one. Not one ounce of compassion from him. I'm positive he doesn't know what compassion is. Not what I want in a vet. He will never see any of my animals again. I do love this place however yesterday I was asked if they could wash the blanket in my cats carrier since she urinated from being nervous. Picked up 8 hours later to my kitty curled up on her smelly urinated on blanket. After searching around the central valley for a vet that would see my pet chicken I was so grateful to have found Dr. Lane. She is a fantastic vet. She treated me and my pet with such high quality care. She spent an abundance of time explaining the x-ray's and treatment options. It was a particularly difficult time for me as my pet had a tumor and she was going to pass soon. Dr. Lane was caring and direct and put forth that extra effort that is often lacking in the medical profession. The other staff that I encountered seemed friendly. I took my dog who weighs 90 to 95 pounds to get a wound checked out. My dog is nice but sometimes if people talk to me in front of her she gets protective and because of her size she can be very intimidating. But Dr. Lane first introduced herself to my dog (then me) and took some time to play with her while she evaluated her. She was so relaxed (the vet) that my dog was calm and did great! No muzzle needed thanks to Dr. Lane! I really appreciated her for taking the time to get to know my dog so she could give her a good vet experience. Kingsburg Veterinary is now located in a brand spanking new building. It's a lovely facility and a far cry from the cramped old office they had for many years (right next door, although I hear they are going to tear the old one down). The reception area is aesthetically pleasing with high ceilings and lots of natural light. My most recent encounter was as a result of one of our cats getting an abscess on his cheek. We called for an appointment and arrived on time. Still had to wait longer than I would like. Cats are not real patient critters. While waiting, the noise level in the reception area was truly disturbing. Animals barking and meowing, phones ringing almost continually (at a much higher volume than would seem necessary). The concrete, glass and steel construction of this modern facility has a tendency to create echoes and magnify noise. That's a shame, because otherwise, it's a fabulous place.Because the noise level was so high, and because the front desk people were still sorting things out, it was somewhat difficult to deal with the front desk. First one person would seem to be dealing with me, and then another. But they were mostly courteous and trying hard. Once in the exam room, the tech and both vets we saw over the course of two trips in were kind and competent.I've been involved in a new public facility establishment, and because we found that with people conversing at normal levels, the echoes and reverberations, significantly affected the experience of being there in a very negative way, we ended up spending about $30,000 for sound deadening remediation. It made a huge difference, and I would strongly recommend that KVC look into that technology. The people who work there, the people who come in with patients, and the patients themselves, would greatly appreciate it. I guarantee it. Read Less

My dog was attacked in the middle of the night. His left ear was half torn off, he had holes in his throat were he was bit, and blood was dripping off him. I went here and they immediately took him in. They gave me a price which I thought was very fair considering my dogs condition. The doctor took him in for surgery and called us late in the afternoon to pick him up along with his medication. They gave us follow up appointments and were very kind and proffesional. I've been going to this veterinary clinic for the past few years and every time it's been a wonderful experience.  This clinic is a half hour drive from me, but I honestly don't care.  The drive doesn't mean anything as long as I go feeling as if they've listened to my concerns and done everything they could for my cat.Let me backtrack to the first reason I came here.  My cat is getting older, I've had her since she was a kitten and I was in 7th grade.  She's about 15 years old now.  As with all old animals, health issues are starting to occur.  A few years ago I noticed she had a growth on her paw that she was biting at.  She'd gotten it infected, and I was worried because she wouldn't stop messing with it.  I was told to drive to a place that I won't mention, they were supposedly really great.  I took her there; they were dismissive toward me and as soon as I mentioned I didn't have the money for surgery just yet (payday was two weeks away) they stopped the appointment and told me they could do nothing for me.  What? Not even antibiotics? A cone? Something to help manage it so she doesn't make it worse?  Nope. Nothing.  You don't want to feel dismissed about your baby being uncomfortable/in pain.I text someone and they said to go to here.  Oh my goodness, it was a whole new world.  They were kind with me, open, we discussed all options for the future, depending on what it could be.  They booked me for surgery in two weeks (after I mentioned that's when I could afford it, instead of just throwing me out on my butt!) and gave me medication to manage the infection and tips on changing from litter to the paper pellets, etc.Every return trip has been the same way, and I've had a different veterinarian each time.  In fact, I think I've been seen by every veterinarian that works here.  Each time I return I'm listened to when I talk about what I've seen with her and what has/hasn't worked in the past.  Each veterinarian has handled my girl very kindly, often giving her scratches and letting her know what a good girl she's being :)Additionally, aside from the wonderful care, I love how easy it is to get an appointment.  Most of the time my appointments have been last minute and they're always able to get me in that day.This is a wonderful clinic and I'm so happy I came here all that time ago, because I'll never take any pet I have to another clinic. Dr Laney is amazing. She is so sweet and patient and caring. This was my first visit and she made me feel like she really cares about my dog and listened to all of my concerns. They are inexpensive and well worth the $$ they do charge. The only negative is the small waiting area. My dog doesn't like other large dogs and I didn't feel I had a place to go to stay separated from the other dogs. Usually a wait, only because it's well trusted by people from miles around.  I have lived in Kingsburg my entire life and we've only used this Veterinarian's office and have been pleased with every single visit.I live in the country and occasionally we will have a walk-on animal. My family and I have taken dozens of animals to this office-- dogs getting hit by a car, shots for kittens, spay/neutering you name it-- and, I will admit, there is a wait most of time, only because this vet's office is one of the best in a wide vicinity. Make sure to put your animal in a cage-- I think that helps them out a bit. Don't take their speediness as rudeness; the office is usually very busy. If the animal is very injured, keep it in the car and they will bring a stretcher out to you and help with the transport. Read Less
