Absolutely hate it don't ever let this woman take care of any of your animals.... she tried to spay my male cat. If she can't even tell the gender of your pet she has no business operating on it. She sliced open my male cat to spay it cause she was too incompetent to know the sex of a cat. But cut the poor cat open anyways he is suffering due to this vetranarian please don't harm your pets by taking them there. I am in legal action against them now! Read Less

Highly recommend La Verne Animal Hospital, they have always been very caring and non-pressure in the treatment plans for our dogs. They saved one of our dog's life this past week. They went the extra mile to make sure we can't the care our dog needed. They had recommended another emergency vet clinic because they thought they would be able to do the required testing faster. The other place didn't think the testing was necessary and recommended a very expensive treatment plan. After hearing that the tests weren't preformed La Verne Animal Hospital ordered the tests and called us Saturday morning with the results and recommended treatment plan. Can't think them enough. My husband and I have been taking our dogs to Dr. Burnett and his staff more years than I can remember, but then I'm gettin up in years and find I forget more than I ever knew...I can't imagine taking them anywhere else. Dr. Burnett is easing out of daily practice and has a very capable and knowledgable veterinarian, Dr. Huang, as his partner. Meghan, who is usually on the front desk between back office duties, is a sweet, helpful person and the two vet techs with whom I've the most acquaintance, Nancy and Sandy (I'm sorry if I've mispelled any names), are wonderful with all the animals that I've seen come into the office, as well as with every single one of ours. There is now another tech, Justin, who is also very good with our dogs, but I've only seen him a couple times. The others on staff, I've been seeing for years and feel as though we are actually friends. I started with Dr. Burnett's office because my previous vet's tech did such a poor job cleaning my dog's teeth. As a dental hygienist, I knew exactly what I was looking at after the cleaning had been done at the previous vet office. Only the visible part of the teeth had been cleaned, which does nothing to help prevent gum disease and eventual tooth loss. None of the calculus ("tartar") under the gumline and invisible to the eye, had been touched nor removed and the gums were still quite inflamed. Nancy re-cleaned my dog's teeth and did a superb and thorough job. That was more years ago than I care to remember, also a few dogs ago. We have been coming to this veterinary office ever since and have been most pleased with all the care given all our dogs over the years. Dr. Burnett and Dr. Huang are both patient souls who do care for both their animal patients and the animal patients' owners. Explanations given are thorough and complete and given with the owners' feelings (and wallet, now that we are retired and on a fixed income this is really important) in mind. Recommendations for treatment have always been spot on. Today, I am taking my old Sheltie to see whichever Doctor happens to be working. I am worried since he refused to eat a thing this morning and is panting when the house is cool, but I trust that whatever the diagnosis might be, the doctor will deliver it with care and understanding of my feelings and with concern and understanding of what my Toby will need. Having an old but very loved pet presents difficult probems for both the veterinarian, the staff and the person who is owned by that old pet. I know the complete staff at La Verne Animal Hospital will be able to handle this challenge caringly, competently and with understanding and knowledge and that the diagnosis will be exactly what is necessary and needed. Love this place. Small little old house converted to vet. My Pomeranian had contracted bronchitis and I had called several local big vets and they were booked until the following day/ week. Called la Verne animal and got Sharon- one of my favorite vet techs of all time! She heard my concern and booked me an appt immediately for that afternoon. Dr is awesome. Generally, these are very caring people at the La Verne Animal Hospital. They are loving and gentle with the animals we have brought into the place. I have been bringing my pets to la verne animal hospital for over 10 yrs. Dr Burnett and Dr Wong are very experienced and caring!!! All their techs are great as well. Some may consider their practice on the expensive side but I feel they try to save you money whenever they can. I cannot say enough about this place. Our 13 yo kitty (that I helped deliver she is one of our kids) had sudden breathing problems. Took her to my usual vet who said he thought she had his or that...& while she was in severe breathing distress proceeded to CLIP HER NAILS! I finally got them to stop and by then I thought she was a goner. Finally he took two X-rays...at 4:50 kept looking at the clock, said she had a "broken diaphragm" huh??? And she was old & to put her down. Ummm, NO! Took kitty home and asked friends for ref's. Dr. Here looked at her films told me he thought she had a heart issue and needed her lungs drained. Ok. Got it. Found an ER vet in Pasadena who handled it and little kitty is still doing well...putting back on the weight she lost. On meds forever... THANK U LA VERNE ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!! I know that this place is favored by many locals but I stopped going there years ago due to their forgetfulness to perform the services requested and their rudeness on the phone as well as the front office. They're service is also on the expensive side of veterinarians. Today I parked in their designated parking at 5:34pm and verified the hours of business posted on their window to be 5:30pm. I return to my vehicle shortly after 6:00pm to a threatening notice that my vehicle will be towed if I park there before 6. I understand that parking is difficult in that area but their enforcement is over reaching. Please respect their decision to be rude to their clients and public and refrain from going to their practise and parking there.Read Less

I love Dr Huang! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They seem happy to be there. My other vet moved out of state and I was not thrilled with her replacement. Someone recommended the vets here, and I am so glad I came. Dr Huang practices holistic and natural medicine which I love. It seems that no one tells us of these dangers. My little dog was attacked on February 9, 2014. In our backyard. I found half of her body in the next door neighbor's backyard. We live on 5th Street so nowhere near the hills. Houses all around 6 foot walls all around. I don't know why they decided to pick on my backyard, but I am very sad and feeling guilty that I have a doggy door and never thought of closing it at night. I have lived here for 35 years and never had anything like this happen. So my advice is to watch out for coyotes and also if you have a doggy door, please close it at night. I wish I had known they were around here too. We need to let everyone know. This is a terrible to go through. If they die of old age it's one thing, but this was a very violent death and I can't get over it. Read Less

My husband has been a happy customer of La Verne Animal Hospital since the 90's.  Dr. Burnett has always taken care of my husband's dogs.Now we have cats.  Our cat Clinton had been having issues eating and lost some weight, but we could not figure out why until one day he had a tooth protruding outward.  We did not look elsewhere and immediately took him to see Dr. Burnett, who took the time to evaluate Clinton and scheduled us for a teeth extraction first thing the next morning.  Clinton ended up spending the night at Dr. Burnett's office for observation and care after 22 teeth had been pulled out.  Poor thing!  But Clinton could not have been in better hands -- he was put on IV drip and covered in fuzzy blanket with a warm bottle snuggled under his paws.  Dr. Burnett patiently walked us through his treatment for Clinton and assured us that we'd be bringing home a much happier, not to mention healthier, feline family member the next day.And we did.  With the help of pain meds and antibiotics prescribed by Dr. Burnett Clinton has been recovering very well.  Dr. Burnett even personally called within a week to check on us.  As pet owners, we can't expect a better place to go to when our loved little ones need some TLC.  Dr. Burnett and his staff deserve to be recognized not only for their professionalism, but for their passion and love for animals. Additionally, the humane manner in which the clinic is operated truly makes a difference in the care and outcome for each and every relationship they have.
