Hands down "Monarch Veterinary hospital is the best Veterinarians Practice in Orange County" Its not just in the conversation, it is a place where you can expect to have good conversation because the staff the veterinary text and assistance and the doctors are all very very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and have absolutely no agendas. no one has tried to sell me cat food or tell me that my cat needed to see a whisperer which I have to say, in today's day and age, is kind of surprising in a good way.
Today was my cat's 2nd follow up visit in about 6 weeks to check in on the status of what had been a real problematic yeast infection in his ears, one that had been causing excessive itching and unfortunately scarred canals. I am beating myself up about not getting a second opinion sooner, but I am delighted to see just how much his condition has improved, its gone. Im sincerely thankful for the care Romeo has received.
I would like to try and explain one very important reason that this practice differs from other practices. I want to also reiterate just how good the customer service is here everyone here seems to be college educated and very professional, not wasting anyone's time it was absolutely no waiting or delays it's and it's not because there's a lack of clientele they're just very very efficient and I never felt like they didn't take enough time or rush me or anything like that. I think that the staff is very well paid which brings me to the next point which is there was diversity amongst the staff and even though it is a traditional Veterinary practice, certain aspects were cutting edge.
Orange County is notorious for being a place where people will seek the latest and greatest health or beauty treatments, right?...whether that means stem cells for their collagen production or IV vitamin drips for their hormone levels, OC has developed a reputation of being a place that offers extensive cutting Edge medical care. there was I felt one example of outside the box thinking which is really what I want from my doctors no matter what their practicing. our knowledge base is constantly changing and growing and the fact that a veterinarian who's been practicing for 40 years knows how to stay current is really impressive.
In this case, both Dr. Alcala and Dr. Craft demonstrated to me that their techniques and recommendations were very modern indeed.
Dr. Craft knew that a certain medication, which was primarily used for canines, would likely have superior results on my Cat. The recommendation for thosebmedicated ear drops worked so well in fact that was thrilled to see just how quickly my cat's condition improved and to what extent.
Now, the Doctors did not necessarily come right out and say that this was primarily a canine medication, because as a new patient they could not be surehow I might react, or frankly whether or not I was an Internet know-it-all... there to question their choices, while reciting back some internet post from the one person who may not have had the same result. Haha. Thank god for this office and the doctor's here and really everywhere that have to put up with people that get their doctorates from the Google School of medicine. I truly appreciated this, because it proves their practice is what continues to teach them what works best and not just a book from 1982 or worse a rep for some pet chemical company... and that's how I know they are genuine at heart, and are both very deserving of both their titles and status.

My husband and I utilized Monarch Vets for 13 years until we moved to Portland Oregon in October. We considered Monarch Veterinary Clinic the "PPO" of the dog world. Monarch gave Rug incredible personal service and they had such a caring demeanor. We may never find another vet who can measure up to Dr. Craft, Noah and the staff. Monarch really took the time to get to know Rug from the time she a puppy up to old age. Monarchs had better medical records on Rug than me and my husband's primary care physicians. We have taken our dog Duncan, a multipoo, to Dr Kelly Alacala at Monarch Veterinary Hospital for dental surgery as well as several other procedures and always felt that Dr Alcala is compassionate, honest, caring and always has our dog's best care as their number one priority. We can strongly recommend Monarch Veterinary Clinic and Dr Kelly and their team for any animal care. We live two hours away in Rancho Mirage and still take Duncan to see her for major issues.

This was our first visit to Monarch. Dr. Craft came highly recommended. He wasn't working the day we needed an appointment for our cat, so we saw Dr. Kelly Alcala. We were very pleased with both the office staff and Dr. Alcala. She spent a generous amount of time with our pet and saved us money by telling us what tests we did and didn't need. Since our cat was in need of an animal opthalmologist, she went as far as taking photos of her eye and e-mailing them to an opthalmologist she knows for a "free" consultation. We ended up needing to see a specialist in person, which was going to take months for an appt. Dr. Alcala called the specialist herself asking if there was any way to get us in earlier, which they did. She took the extra time and effort, which we really appreciated. Dr. Alcala also called and left a very detailed voice message with our cats lab results. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is they are a tad expensive. But we felt the service out-weighed the cost, so we will go back again.

We had recently moved to the area and took our pup here since it was recommended by a friend. Receptionist was nice but they tried to push all of this preventative medication (heart worm, flea, tick, etc) and insurance on me telling me I had to sign up within the next week to get a discount. I've never had a vet try to sell me something so bad. I asked for a nail trimming and warned them my pug is difficult to handle when it comes to this. They said no problem but then the vet tech brought him back and said he was unable to cut. The doctor came in and said that it was odd the vet tech had said that, so he personally took him in the back to see what they could do. Like the vet tech, he came back and said they didn't want to stress the dog out so they weren't going to do it. I've lived in 3 different states in the last couple of years and have never had a vet tell me they couldn't trim my dogs nails. He seemed more interested in telling me about his hockey game than asking questions and getting to know my pup.

Dr. Kelly Alcala is the bright star at this practice, especially where felines are concerned. When I could get no viable answers as to my cat's condition from the other vets at this practice, Dr Alcala came through in spades. She stuck with researching my cat's problem, consulted a feline internist, got all the answers and did not hesitate to call me several times during her busy day to discuss all the options. I am so thankful to Dr. Alcala for her perseverance. She was focused and determined to find an answer to my pet's problem. I am most grateful to her.

We have never had such loving, personal care for our pets as we have had here! Dr. Craft, Lisa, Noah, Caran, Samantha, and Jordan have always given us the utmost attention to every pet need we have ever had. We just suddenly lost our dear springer, Toby. Dr. Craft did an amazing job of referring us to the best specialists and then took time to personally call us and share his sorrow with us. Then they sent us a beautiful plant sending their condolences. You won't be sorry with this staff. They make you feel like family.

Dr. Craft is the kindest and most compassionate vet that I have ever come across. I have a chow that is afraid of her own shadow (rescue dog). Dr. Craft sits on the floor of the examination room with Shasta and talks to her in a low voice. Shasta does not do well with strangers but she "allows" Dr. Craft to examine her and she never flinches. The staff is very professional, kind and absolutely wonderful with fur kids. I can't imagine entrusting Shasta's care to anyone else.

This review is overdue! My cat Mooshi and I had been going here for years. Dr. Craft has always been very on top of her health. Mooshi had kidney disease for the last 10 years of her life and a stroke at age 15 but under his watchful care she made it to 20 years old last January! Everyone at this office (shout out to Karen, Jordan, & Noah) is professional and personal. They always treated us like family. Even after I moved to Lake Forest I still made the drive down here. The hardest visit of course was when I had to say goodbye to my sweet little companion of 20 years, but they took care of the cremation and even made a plaque with her paw prints and sent a sweet little ivy plant which now grows in my yard in memory of Mooshi.Thanks you guys!Ever grateful!

I can't say enough how much I love the attention to detail and professionalism of Doctor Alcala! She is just amazing! Her and Doctor Craft have given my new English Cream Golden Retriever astounding care. Got my new little puppy at 8weeks and she must have had a urinary tract infection. Doctor Alcala and Doctor Craft did the necessary tests in order to get the correct prescription for my puppy! I did a lot of research for vets before coming here and they are one of the best. Staff is amazing as well and facility is always clean. I recommend this veterinary hospital care to everyone! I have a healthy active puppy who I know is getting the best care when needed!

He is such an able vet. Clearly loves animals and treats them with such affection. We have tried some other vets but when a friend referred us to Dr Craft and Monarch we decided to give this practice a try. Everyone there is caring, friendly & competent. And Dr Craft is fantastic. He is such an able vet. Clearly loves animals and treats them with such affection. He is also very open about telling you various things you can do at home to improve your pet's health and general well being. Even though the office is a bit of a drive from where we live it's well worth it. The fact is it's very difficult to find a vet practice that does it this well. Highly recommended.

I found this vet hospital on Yelp, and decided to try it out because of the positive reviews. I'm glad I did, and I can say that I see why everyone likes this place. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Craft has a great pet exam table manner and is thorough, knowledgeable, and is not shy about being straightforward with owners, which is rare to find. I had brought my senior chihuahua in for an exam and bloodwork because of some issues she seemed to be having, and she seemed to be more comfortable in this office than in past vets. Plus, the front office and exam looked and smelled cleaner than most others, without having that kennel smell, mixed with chemical air fresheners like other places. I highly recommend Monarch.

Thank heavens for Dr. Craft, "the squirrel guy"!I was out camping in Silverado when some people found a skinny baby squirrel shivering and calling for his mother. After a couple hours when she still hadn't showed they believed a hawk had probably gotten her so they swaddled the baby and put him in the corner of a tent. When I found out, the boy watching the baby told me that he thought the squirrel was dead because it was cold and hadn't moved in a long time so I got in a sleeping bag and put the little guy on my chest. It was so heart wrenching and I lost my voice singing to the only tune that seemed to calm the poor little guy.. "The hanging tree" from The Hunger Games. I knew he needed milk but by morning I still hadnt found a Wildlife rescue that would take him and i was starting to get worried! 3 different groups referred me to "The squirrel guy" and when I called, I knew he was a savior! Dr. Craft, you are a blessing! Thank you so much for taking him in! By the time I left they reported the little guy was already drinking milk! Yae! Dr. Craft then told me I could call and get updates and they'd even send me pictures! Wow, what a night I've had! Without Dr. Craft and his awesome team, I don't even know what we would have done! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Back in late 2008, a friend recommended Monarch to me. I had recently adopted two cats and wanted to get them set up with a vet. I have been with Monarch ever since, and I now have five cats, all patients of Dr. Craft. I have been very pleased with the care that my "kitties" have received. Dr. Craft and the entire staff are all very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They always take the time to fully explain to me whatever they are doing, and to "love on" the patient. In addition, the facility is always spotless and the charges are very reasonable. I highly recommend Monarch. I think you will be very pleased.

My beloved pets have been with Dr. Craft and his amazing staff since 2003, and the experience has been excellent. My dog and 2 cats have had multiple health issues and they have taken such wonderful care of them all. I believe I have the only dog who actually wagged her tail and was happy to see everyone at Monarch whenever I brought her in. Sadly she passed away last year, and Dr. Craft and staff treated her with the dignity she deserved in her final days, and the much needed support to my grieving family. The care and compassion is unmatched, and I would recommend Monarch Verterinary Hospital to everyone.

My cat had loose stools for 5 months. I took him to 3 other vets in the area and they weren't able to help my kitten. Then, a woman at the pet store recommended Dr Craft, at Monarch Vet. He was finally able to help my kitten, who had his first formed stools the day after I took him there. I ended up taking my other cat there too because she was loosing all her hair. He was able to control her itching and gave me a really good flea medication. She is not itching or over grooming anymore. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. Prices are very reasonable!!! I highly recommend Monarch Vet. Dr Craft is the best vet ever!!

We have known Dr. Kraft for about 25 years and still think he is the best Vet in the world! Over that time period, we have had three black labs that he cared for and all of them lived very, very long, healthy and happy lives. I attribute that to Dr. Kraft's recommendations on food, vitamin/mineral supplements and his cold pressed oil mixture. They were so healthy and shiny and NEVER had any issues with fleas or skin problems. He taught us to nourish them instead of ""flea dipping"" them. Dr. Kraft took care of all the yearly shots and exams, but was also there for us when one of our babies needed surgery. He always explained everything and took time to answer any and all questions. Through the years, we have recommended him to many other people, some who drove long distances to get there. All were very happy with his care, without exception. During the time he was in Thailand, we were forced to use other vets and although we did finally find one we liked, they never came close to Dr. Kraft. We value his knowledge, experience and true love for animals, above and beyond any other vet in the world. He is truly amazing!

Hands down "Monarch Veterinary hospital is the best Veterinarians Practice in Orange County" Its not just in the conversation, it is a place where you can expect to have good conversation because the staff the veterinary text and assistance and the doctors are all very very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and have absolutely no agendas. no one has tried to sell me cat food or tell me that my cat needed to see a whisperer which I have to say, in today's day and age, is kind of surprising in a good way.
Today was my cat's 2nd follow up visit in about 6 weeks to check in on the status of what had been a real problematic yeast infection in his ears, one that had been causing excessive itching and unfortunately scarred canals. I am beating myself up about not getting a second opinion sooner, but I am delighted to see just how much his condition has improved, its gone. Im sincerely thankful for the care Romeo has received.
I would like to try and explain one very important reason that this practice differs from other practices. I want to also reiterate just how good the customer service is here everyone here seems to be college educated and very professional, not wasting anyone's time it was absolutely no waiting or delays it's and it's not because there's a lack of clientele they're just very very efficient and I never felt like they didn't take enough time or rush me or anything like that. I think that the staff is very well paid which brings me to the next point which is there was diversity amongst the staff and even though it is a traditional Veterinary practice, certain aspects were cutting edge.
Orange County is notorious for being a place where people will seek the latest and greatest health or beauty treatments, right?...whether that means stem cells for their collagen production or IV vitamin drips for their hormone levels, OC has developed a reputation of being a place that offers extensive cutting Edge medical care. there was I felt one example of outside the box thinking which is really what I want from my doctors no matter what their practicing. our knowledge base is constantly changing and growing and the fact that a veterinarian who's been practicing for 40 years knows how to stay current is really impressive.
In this case, both Dr. Alcala and Dr. Craft demonstrated to me that their techniques and recommendations were very modern indeed.
Dr. Craft knew that a certain medication, which was primarily used for canines, would likely have superior results on my Cat. The recommendation for thosebmedicated ear drops worked so well in fact that was thrilled to see just how quickly my cat's condition improved and to what extent.
Now, the Doctors did not necessarily come right out and say that this was primarily a canine medication, because as a new patient they could not be surehow I might react, or frankly whether or not I was an Internet know-it-all... there to question their choices, while reciting back some internet post from the one person who may not have had the same result. Haha. Thank god for this office and the doctor's here and really everywhere that have to put up with people that get their doctorates from the Google School of medicine. I truly appreciated this, because it proves their practice is what continues to teach them what works best and not just a book from 1982 or worse a rep for some pet chemical company... and that's how I know they are genuine at heart, and are both very deserving of both their titles and status.

Monarch gave Rug incredible personal service and they had such a caring demeanor. We may never find another vet who can measure up to Dr. Craft, Noah and the staff. This was our first visit to Monarch. Dr. Craft came highly recommended. He wasn't working the day we needed an appointment for our cat, so we saw Dr. Kelly Alcala. We were very pleased with both the office staff and Dr. Alcala. She spent a generous amount of time with our pet and saved us money by telling us what tests we did and didn't need. Since our cat was in need of an animal opthalmologist, she went as far as taking photos of her eye and e-mailing them to an opthalmologist she knows for a "free" consultation. We ended up needing to see a specialist in person, which was going to take months for an appt. Dr. Alcala called the specialist herself asking if there was any way to get us in earlier, which they did. She took the extra time and effort, which we really appreciated. Dr. Alcala also called and left a very detailed voice message with our cats lab results. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is they are a tad expensive. But we felt the service out-weighed the cost, so we will go back again.

We had recently moved to the area and took our pup here since it was recommended by a friend. Receptionist was nice but they tried to push all of this preventative medication (heart worm, flea, tick, etc) and insurance on me telling me I had to sign up within the next week to get a discount. I've never had a vet try to sell me something so bad. I asked for a nail trimming and warned them my pug is difficult to handle when it comes to this. They said no problem but then the vet tech brought him back and said he was unable to cut. The doctor came in and said that it was odd the vet tech had said that, so he personally took him in the back to see what they could do. Like the vet tech, he came back and said they didn't want to stress the dog out so they weren't going to do it. I've lived in 3 different states in the last couple of years and have never had a vet tell me they couldn't trim my dogs nails. He seemed more interested in telling me about his hockey game than asking questions and getting to know my pup.

Dr. Kelly Alcala is the bright star at this practice, especially where felines are concerned. When I could get no viable answers as to my cat's condition from the other vets at this practice, Dr Alcala came through in spades. She stuck with researching my cat's problem, consulted a feline internist, got all the answers and did not hesitate to call me several times during her busy day to discuss all the options. We have never had such loving, personal care for our pets as we have had here! Dr. Craft, Lisa, Noah, Caran, Samantha, and Jordan have always given us the utmost attention to every pet need we have ever had. We just suddenly lost our dear springer, Toby. Dr. Craft did an amazing job of referring us to the best specialists and then took time to personally call us and share his sorrow with us. Then they sent us a beautiful plant sending their condolences. You won't be sorry with this staff. They make you feel like family.

Dr. Craft is the kindest and most compassionate vet that I have ever come across. I have a chow that is afraid of her own shadow (rescue dog). Dr. Craft sits on the floor of the examination room with Shasta and talks to her in a low voice. Shasta does not do well with strangers but she "allows" Dr. Craft to examine her and she never flinches. The staff is very professional, kind and absolutely wonderful with fur kids. I can't imagine entrusting Shasta's care to anyone else.

This review is overdue! My cat Mooshi and I had been going here for years. Dr. Craft has always been very on top of her health. Mooshi had kidney disease for the last 10 years of her life and a stroke at age 15 but under his watchful care she made it to 20 years old last January! Everyone at this office (shout out to Karen, Jordan, & Noah) is professional and personal. They always treated us like family. Even after I moved to Lake Forest I still made the drive down here. The hardest visit of course was when I had to say goodbye to my sweet little companion of 20 years, but they took care of the cremation and even made a plaque with her paw prints and sent a sweet little ivy plant which now grows in my yard in memory of Mooshi.Thanks you guys!Ever grateful!

Her and Doctor Craft have given my new English Cream Golden Retriever astounding care. Got my new little puppy at 8weeks and she must have had a urinary tract infection. Doctor Alcala and Doctor Craft did the necessary tests in order to get the correct prescription for my puppy! I did a lot of research for vets before coming here and they are one of the best. Staff is amazing as well and facility is always clean. I recommend this veterinary hospital care to everyone! I have a healthy active puppy who I know is getting the best care when needed!

He is also very open about telling you various things you can do at home to improve your pet's health and general well being. Even though the office is a bit of a drive it's worth it. We have tried some other vets but when a friend referred us to Dr Craft and Monarch we decided to give this practice a try. Everyone there is caring, friendly & competent. And Dr Craft is fantastic. He is such an able vet. Clearly loves animals and treats them with such affection. He is also very open about telling you various things you can do at home to improve your pet's health and general well being. Even though the office is a bit of a drive from where we live it's well worth it. The fact is it's very difficult to find a vet practice that does it this well. Highly recommended.

I found this vet hospital on Yelp, and decided to try it out because of the positive reviews. I'm glad I did, and I can say that I see why everyone likes this place. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Craft has a great pet exam table manner and is thorough, knowledgeable, and is not shy about being straightforward with owners, which is rare to find. I had brought my senior chihuahua in for an exam and bloodwork because of some issues she seemed to be having, and she seemed to be more comfortable in this office than in past vets. Plus, the front office and exam looked and smelled cleaner than most others, without having that kennel smell, mixed with chemical air fresheners like other places. I highly recommend Monarch.

Thank heavens for Dr. Craft, "the squirrel guy"!I was out camping in Silverado when some people found a skinny baby squirrel shivering and calling for his mother. After a couple hours when she still hadn't showed they believed a hawk had probably gotten her so they swaddled the baby and put him in the corner of a tent. When I found out, the boy watching the baby told me that he thought the squirrel was dead because it was cold and hadn't moved in a long time so I got in a sleeping bag and put the little guy on my chest. It was so heart wrenching and I lost my voice singing to the only tune that seemed to calm the poor little guy.. "The hanging tree" from The Hunger Games. I knew he needed milk but by morning I still hadnt found a Wildlife rescue that would take him and i was starting to get worried! 3 different groups referred me to "The squirrel guy" and when I called, I knew he was a savior! Dr. Craft, you are a blessing! Thank you so much for taking him in! By the time I left they reported the little guy was already drinking milk! Yae! Dr. Craft then told me I could call and get updates and they'd even send me pictures! Wow, what a night I've had! Without Dr. Craft and his awesome team, I don't even know what we would have done! Back in late 2008, a friend recommended Monarch to me. I had recently adopted two cats and wanted to get them set up with a vet. I have been with Monarch ever since, and I now have five cats, all patients of Dr. Craft. I have been very pleased with the care that my "kitties" have received. Dr. Craft and the entire staff are all very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They always take the time to fully explain to me whatever they are doing, and to "love on" the patient. In addition, the facility is always spotless and the charges are very reasonable. I highly recommend Monarch. I think you will be very pleased.

Dr Craft is compassionate and the best diagnostician I have ever come across in a Vet and I have had many since animals have been in our lives for over 50 years.
We trust Dr and his team and know our "children" are in the best hands. You don't find that everywhere.

My beloved pets have been with Dr. Craft and his amazing staff since 2003, and the experience has been excellent. My dog and 2 cats have had multiple health issues and they have taken such wonderful care of them all. I believe I have the only dog who actually wagged her tail and was happy to see everyone at Monarch whenever I brought her in. Sadly she passed away last year, and Dr. Craft and staff treated her with the dignity she deserved in her final days, and the much needed support to my grieving family. The care and compassion is unmatched, and I would recommend Monarch Verterinary Hospital to everyone.

My cat had loose stools for 5 months. I took him to 3 other vets in the area and they weren't able to help my kitten. Then, a woman at the pet store recommended Dr Craft, at Monarch Vet. He was finally able to help my kitten, who had his first formed stools the day after I took him there. I ended up taking my other cat there too because she was loosing all her hair. He was able to control her itching and gave me a really good flea medication. She is not itching or over grooming anymore. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. Prices are very reasonable!!! I highly recommend Monarch Vet. Dr Craft is the best vet ever!!

We have known Dr. Kraft for about 25 years and still think he is the best Vet in the world! Over that time period, we have had three black labs that he cared for and all of them lived very, very long...
We have known Dr. Kraft for about 25 years and still think he is the best Vet in the world! Over that time period, we have had three black labs that he cared for and all of them lived very, very long, healthy and happy lives. I attribute that to Dr. Kraft's recommendations on food, vitamin/mineral supplements and his cold pressed oil mixture. They were so healthy and shiny and NEVER had any issues with fleas or skin problems. He taught us to nourish them instead of ""flea dipping"" them. Dr. Kraft took care of all the yearly shots and exams, but was also there for us when one of our babies needed surgery. He always explained everything and took time to answer any and all questions. Through the years, we have recommended him to many other people, some who drove long distances to get there. All were very happy with his care, without exception. During the time he was in Thailand, we were forced to use other vets and although we did finally find one we liked, they never came close to Dr. Kraft. We value his knowledge, experience and true love for animals, above and beyond any other vet in the world. He is truly amazing!
