The doctor is absolutely wonderful... very friendly. You can tell he really loves his clients (dogs & cats), and has great customer service skills when speaking with people. I left there feeling confident in his ability to care for my pet cat Arthur, and with a smile on my face. Place was clean, smelled good and had separate entrances for the dogs and the cats. They are open Mon~Sat, offer a small amount of parking, and located next to a storage facility + other commercial buildings.I brought one of my foster dogs here for an exam and vaccination. I don't even know where to start with how much I love this place! Highly HIGHLY recommend. I've been to vets in Lake Forest, Foothill, MV, basically everywhere in the area. This is the only one I will go back to. My dog has had a chronic skin condition that I've been seeking help for for years. We've had our share of misdiagnoses, wrongly prescribed medications, etc. I understand that these things happen, but it put a lot of stress on my dog's body. The worst thing about those other vets, though, was their attitudes. They seemed to judge me and make me feel like it was my dog being sick was because I was a bad owner. And the reality was I was doing everything I could to make him better, not to mention I was SEEKING HELP. I got fed up and tried treating it solely on my own. And then my dog got hurt somehow. I came home one day and he was limping, wouldn't let me pick him up, just crying. I had no choice but to find a vet again. So, I came across El Toro Animal Hospital, and in the waiting room I braced myself for the rude judgement I got from all the previous vets. Dr. Fred at ET Animal Hospital didn't do ANY of that b.s. He was kind, understanding, and ON MY SIDE. I finally felt like someone was ready to tackle this with me. He took the time to feel my dog's leg/hip, and even walk him! (To observe his movement and limp). He helps those with limited income, too. I never felt like it made a difference in the was he carried out the treatments. He took the time to explain everything to me in detail until I understood everything. He made a follow up call, personally a couple days later and really has been more helpful than all of those other vets combined. I appreciate Dr. Fred and his team very much! Thank you guys!!!! I will be back. Oh, and as for my dog! He started walking again, that same day! The medicine Dr. Fred gave us, along with supplements and care instructions, has helped my dog more than I even expected. My dog Ju Ju is a Maltese/cockerel Spaniard mix, 7 yrs old.  a month ago after chasing  a ball started showing an awkward leg movement (rapid acceleration, followed by a stop, followed by body shaking).  For 2 days he did not eat, pee or poop and refused to move.  When he moved it  would be followed by body shaking as if out of pain or fear.  After researching on the internet I thought he might have had "Shaker Syndrome" with is often associated with this breed but Ju Ju is old for that disease (usually they get it between 1 and 3 yrs of age).We took him to El Toro animal Hospital and the X ray and blood test did not show anything.  Dr. Fred recommended that it might be a muscle spasm from chasing the ball and that with proper medication he can recover.  After 3 weeks of proper medication Ju Ju fully recovered and he is back to his normal self.  I wanted to thank the staff and Dr. Fred for all their efforts. This is a terrible animal hospital. They made it so difficult to get our dog spayed that we gave up. We were the very lucky recipients of a voucher from an organization that helps people who need it. I'm so surprised and shocked to experience this. This place would rather make things difficult on families who already have it difficult enough. And turn away animals that need service. I am totally willing to show anyone the email exchange I had with them so you can see for yourself Amazing. They are certainly in the wrong business.We were told that we must have misunderstood them and to bring in our dog today. They were smart this time and didn't put it in writing. Probably because they saw this review and realized that I offered to show the email exchange to anyone wanting to avoid the same situation, especially with something so vulnerable as their animals. I thought they wanted to create a better resolution after all we had been through. I believed them.When we got there, the doctor himself took us in the back room, said he would not do the spay unless we changed our yelp review to say something positive! He tried to shame us for sharing our truth and not do the procedure he scheduled on our dog, unless we changed the review. I wouldn't believe this myself if it didn't happen to me. How sad that this actually happens with people like doctors who we r supposed to trust to do the honorable thing. We didn't do anything wrong. Just shared our experience.I wonder how many of his yelp reviews are like the one he threatened us if we didn't do. I'm disgusted. And no, Dr.Fred, I wouldn't let you touch our dog after seeing how you treat people. I wouldn't give anyone to you that doesn't have a voice and is at your mercy. Read Less

Lots of money grabbing here. They highly encourage the annual $150 "maintenance plan" by showing that it's cheaper than the individual annual "vaccines," which are included. Then during evaluation, they try to upcharge "treatment" for whatever concerns you have. The vet never actually examined our dog, just asked a few simple questions and spent no more than 10 minutes in the room, then diagnosed as an "allergic rash," for $160 treatment. They also tried to sell us "dental cleaning" while visiting for the rash. Finally, an administrator took our dog away to another room for the vaccinations, and brought her back a few minutes later saying she was good to go, after waiting around more than 30 minutes to be seen. Never witnessed the shot(s) we paid for actually being administrated. I paid for the annual maintenance and skipped the rest, gave the dog a bath and some hydrocortisone, rash was better in days. I like this place. I've been to other animal clinics & they all seem to add frills & unnecessary costly procedures. Dr. Fred is nice, compassionate and seems to love animals. They have great wellness plans that make vaccinations & care affordable for regular folks. The admin staff are always pleasant and don't waste time. My visits are always quick and easy. Best hospital I've been to! I brought my dog Scruffy for a surgery on his leg and Dr. Fred did an amazing job and his leg and they are all healed up now! Staff was super friendly and the Doctor was so kind and informative! I could tell he really cares about the well being of the animals. I've also taken my dog here for neutering and it wasn't very expensive, mostly every thing is pretty decently charged plus the consultation is free which is nice! We love Dr. Saad! We started seeing him about three years ago when we first got our first fur baby and now that we have two dogs, we didn't hesitate to have our second one be seen by him too! While we live a little farther away, we haven't considered seeing another place because we trust this place and trust that our fur babies are in good hands when we come. Dr. Saad is very knowledgeable and personable too! Not to mention how the staff, front desk and Raffi are all very nice and efficient! You can tell they work well as a team. We always get reminder phone calls whenever we make appointments, and they're very professional regardless of what's going on! Affordable package deals and great services offered by friendly staff, what more is there to ask for? We definitely recommend this to anyone seeking for a great animal hospital that they can trust! When I had to refill my dog's prescription and Costco told me I was out of refills and had to get the doctor's approval, I went back to the prescribing doctor only to find out she had left So. Cal. Veterinary Specialty Hospital.  I turned to my pet's primary vet, Dr. Fred and he said he could fill that prescription for her.  He was able to save me approx. $100 over Costco's price!  I was elated as my pet will be on this medicine the rest of her life.I have been going to Dr. Fred at El Toro Animal Hospital for over 3 years and have been very happy with him and his whole staff.  Thank you for taking such good care of our best friends! Unfortunately, a necropsy was not performed (this is an autopsy but for animals) and as such it will be hard to ever bring justice to Lucky. However I am letting anyone who is even thinking of going to see this vet to please beware and do your research before you decide where to take your pet for medical attention. Outstanding pet hospital and staff! Highly recommended...if I could give them more stars I would. My pit mix Zoe and I have been happily going to this hospital now for the past 3 years, and I couldn't be more impressed. I have taken her to other hospitals just to see where she feels more comfortable. And sadly just because of her breed other places(I will not mention) have been fearful and unfriendly. Zoe is a very sweet dog and feels so comfortable with dr. Fred and Raffi. She does not fear them in fact she trusts them and feels so comfortable. This makes me feel at ease. I trust this office very much and know that my dog is in the best hands. Also, Janice (front desk) is the absolute sweetest women always greets us with smiles and love. I am going to keep this short.I paid $700.00 to have them clear up an ear infection my dog has. Did everything they instructed (gave him pills, washed ears out etc.) and lo and behold he still has the ear infection. So now I am supposed to pay MORE for them to clear up the infection the $700.00 pills should have done in the first place? I hate places like this, all about the $$$$$$. Read Less

They are always great! They are all so nice and the prices are very reasonable. The doctor is so nice every time we see him. I also just had to sadly put one of my dogs down around thanksgiving and they waited for me the night before thanksgiving to help me with my poor doggy who just couldn't last another day:( fantastic place to take your loving pets. We have been going here since 2006 and couldn't be happier. I'm very new to the area and had no idea where to take my dog. I read some reviews and decided on this place. Because my dog is a new patient, he got a free check-up! They also give free second opinions if you print the coupon off their website.Soooo glad I did! Since I called to make an appointment, the receptionist was amazing. I passed up the building because I didn't see it, the building is kind of hiding off to the side of El Toro Rd. I called because I couldn't find the place and she was still very nice and helped me find it. The Building's outside is full of character, and Everybody was super nice! The Veterinarian, Fred Saad, D.V.M. was very soothing and informative. He took his time with Brodie and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed. The Assistants were great. My dog wagged his tail the whole time with their staff even after shots! My dog will need surgery soon so we will be back for blood work and x-rays and medication. I was happy with their prices also! They are definitely not out to gouge you for money. I highly, highly recommend El Toro Animal Hospital, I'm and so happy we have found our new vet!! I have gotten BOTH of my dogs spayed here! The prices are VERY reasonable! I called around to other hospitals that qouted me almost 3 times the amount I paid here. Our dog was given a clean bill of health and now our Family Member is in Heaven...What happened??? last week we took our baby in (9 yrs old) to have him checked for a rumbling sound and blood test for diabetes and xray and they said hes in good shape..they said he needed his teeth cleaned and appt was set for Dec 17th..but on the night of the 16th our baby got really sick and had to go to urgent care for congested heart failure and the rumbling sound was his lungs with fluid ..Now Our Dog is Gone..DON'T TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
