I had gone there with my cat because she was meowing loudly and unable to walk. I went in and we got her checked out. The vet had said that she has a normal temperature and they think that she had a stroke. After the diagnosis they pushed for a blood test for about 250 and we could not afford that so I asked for options and they said we could send it out to get it analyzed and we would know in 12 hours. We found out it cost the same. They had then said that my cat might need to be hospitalized they they drew up a approximate cost which came to a 1000$. One of the ladies was trying really hard for us to get their blood test. We then went to another hospital only 20min later, and they found that my cat was paralyzed from the waste down with fluid in her heart an lungs. Her temperature was way low. We had to euthanize her and had to say goodbye to my cat whom I have grown up with for the last 15 years. The vets at Arroyo seemed more worried about getting money over actually taking care of my best friend. That's just sick. Read Less

Absolutely amazing! I could write a book about how wonderful the staff here at VCA are but I will attempt to keep it short. A few months ago my cat had a urinary blockage and almost died. Dr. Buehler got my cat Sampson stable and cleared the blockage there was still trouble. We couldn't get poor Sampson to urinate on his own so every single day at least 2 times a day I would bring Sampson in to have his bladder manually expressed. Then I asked Dr. Buehler to teach me how to do it so that I could help Sampson at home and also be less of a burden to the staff. She took me right back and showed me the ropes. I was so grateful! Dr. Lassen was great also when I would come in on Dr. Buehler's off days. We finally got everything under control and the reason my giant fatty cat Sampson is alive today is because of the great work of Dr. Buehler, Dr. Lassen and all the staff that loved seeing Sampson everyday. Today, I brought the dog I rescued a while ago in for her yearly appointment. Dr. Lassen was on duty. He had no problem spending all the time we needed on my Miss Vivian. Took his time checking her out. Making different suggestions and helpful tips for caring for my hiking buddy Vivian. All in all every single time I have ever been to this hospital I have never had a bad experience. The staff at the counter has always been nice. I have never waited to long to see one of the doctor's nor have I waited long to be checked out. The most important thing beyond friendly staff is that I feel SAFE bringing my fur family here and I know they are getting the best care available. That is what counts the most....Thank you VCA!!!Read Less
