Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you that I’m normally a chill guy. Very few things faze me. But last year, when my dog got weak and stopped eating, I was damn near on the verge of tears the whole time. I called my mom who lives 40 minutes away in Lancaster and told me to take the dog to AV Vet Center. I did, and they told me he had a stomach infection. I left him there overnight reluctantly add picked him up the following day. Today, my dog, Jasper is healthy and playful. Thank you, AV Vet.

Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you that I’m normally a chill guy. Very few things faze me. But last year, when my dog got weak and stopped eating, I was damn near on the verge of tears the whole time. I called my mom who lives 40 minutes away in Lancaster and told me to take the dog to AV Vet Center. I did, and they told me he had a stomach infection. I learned about AV Veterinary Center from my colleague at work. He told me it was the best decision he’s made for his pets in his life. I agree. I can say the same thing. Going to AV Veterinary Center for the first time changed not just the life of our dog, who has been battling with a chronic illness, but also our lives. Today, we no longer need to buy meds on a regular basis or take him to the vet once a month. Vet visits are now four months apart. And our dog seems revitalized. That’s all a pet owner like me can ask for.

My dog died last year in AV Veterinary Center. Truth is he was 12 years old and nearly blind. His heart was about to give and the doctors at the clinic told me there wasn’t anything they could do. Heartbreaking as it was, I just told the people at AV Veterinary Center to at least take away the pain. And they did. If I had to go through it all again, I’d still choose that same clinic filled with compassionate people.

I love AV Veterinary Center’s staff and doctors. They saw me at my most distraught when I had to bring my bleeding collie in for emergency surgery. He was a pup and was bitten by my neighbor’s much bigger dog. They stitched him right up and held him in confinement for a day. I couldn’t sleep but one of the staff members texted me to assure me everything was fine. I’ll never forget that.

And since my dog is my only companion, anything about her health is worth nitpicking. But you know what? I could not find anything worth nitpicking about AV Veterinary Center. We’ve had one health scare with Pinocchio, our Chihuahua, and the doctors at AV Veterinary Center took one look, prescribed meds, and saved his life. Since then, no other vet center has come close.

They have the equiptment if your animal has an emergency and your pet needs more complicated proceedures. My cat needed oxygen therapy and i was sent to them by All Creatures after the vet administered a lasix injection at that hospital. They kept him over night and advised me it would be better to leave him at their hospital a little longer but i wouldnt. My cat is terminal and im having him euthanized in a few days at home. Im just keeping him comfortable and being in the hospital stresses him out. That was the only problem i had with them. I told them they were not going to save him because hes got a very enlarged left atrium and his heart can barely pump blood anylonger. I also told them hes more comfortable at home and i could see he was very scared in the oxygen cage. Not what i wish for his last days. The hospital is high priced but the equiptment they have is expensive to buy and to run. So if you just need vaccinations for your pet i would find somewhere else to go. But if you can afford it and your pet has something more complicated going on with their health its a good option. The other thing i noticed is that when i left my cat for the night i left his medications. I had just refilled his lasix at All Creatures and he was given injections at both vet hospitals. The bottle said they dispensed 28 pills but when i got home there were only 20 pill in the bottle. I dont know for sure but its possible someone took 8 lasix pills at AV Veterinary. They also kept all my cats medical records that i had with me. I will request for them to be returned.

My dog tore a gash in her back and needed stitches. Of course it happened on a holiday weekend and we live in Ridgecrest so there was no place in town to take her. We drove her to AV Veterinary Center on a Sunday evening. After seeing Dr. Sandhu they wanted to keep her through the night since it was about 8:30 pm by the time we were seen. I told Dr. Sandhu we were from Ridgecrest and asked if there was any way we could wait for her and not leave her through the night. He was very kind and agreed to that and said he would work her in between the surgeries he had to do. Everyone was very kind and thorough. Our pup was understandably anxious, so after her blood work the staff asked me to come back and place a muzzle on her so they could do the sedation. She was calm when I went back and I was able to place the muzzle and leash with no problems. I was very grateful that they involved me in her care and comfort. We were able to wait in the very comfortable waiting room while our pup received her treatment. She ended up with eleven staples. Afterwards, the techs were very thorough in explaining aftercare and the front desk staff was very helpful with paperwork and bill payment. I would definitely recommend this emergency vet to anyone in the area.

Dr. Sandhu and his staff are so amazing. Dr. Sandhu performed a back surgery on my baby Cody. Him and his staff showed so much care and love on my Cody. They call me morning and night to give status and updates on Cody’s condition. They even sent me pictures of Cody on a daily basis to cheer me up. All the staff are friendly and awesome.
I have three dogs and I always take them in this facility even though it’s quite a drive. Because I’m very confident that all my babies are in great hands of Dr. Sandhu and his amazing staff.

I have been here several times with my rescued pit bulls. The staff is amazing! They are understanding of my dog’s trust issues and do everything they can to accommodate. I really appreciate that. The doctors and the facility itself is top notch and it’s open 24 hours! I even tell my friends to drive from LA if they have an emergency that can afford the hour drive. You won’t get taken advantage of because it’s after 6 pm here. I’m thankful to have found this hospital!

And recently, a dog got loose post surgery and was found dead in a field in the desert.

We arrived at 0150 and was seen right away. The staff was caring and gave our dog with a visual examination. She was then seen by the Vet. The diagnosis: "Your pup is in heat and suffering from inflammation. I can give her an injection to reduce the inflammation. We took that option. We arrived home at 0400. Too bad Ridgecrest doesn't have a pet ER.

I took my dog there for a torn nail, the doctor came to see my dog in my presence (approximately 30 seconds) looked at the nail, didn't even touch ,confort or talk to the dog, he then sent a bill of 210$ ( for cutting the nail, an injection for pain and a bandage ) and i had to sign before they could take care of my dog.
They took my dog for 30 minutes and brought it back once i signed an other paper. My only concern is the way everything is about big money, without even considering the dog as a dog.
To me, it's a shame

Since it was an emergency and was frightened, I was willing to pay. The staff is fine but feel they could be a little more compassionate instead of "sign here" or "you owe" . A little bedside manner could go a long way.

The time had come for my Chet to move on and I checked online for the vet offices open late. This was the third office I called and they were so kind over the phone that I decided to go there. When we arrived they were so compassionate and concerned; they got us in right away to a private room that was candlelit and very comfortable and peaceful. They gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye and when it was time the Dr came. The Dr was so peaceful and calming as well...he stroked Chet's paw and was so respectful of him and what we were all experiencing. I can't thank the Dr and his staff enough for their compassion pond professionalism; they made this horrible experience go as easily as it could. On 12/21/16 a freak accident happened and we had to rush our Sofie to a vet. It was 8pm & we had to find a 24 hr vet that was open. We brought Sofie here and the staff was amazing. I was a emotional wreck & they were so compassionate, caring & understanding. They had a private room for us to sit & say our good byes to Sofie & let us stay for as long as we needed. They didn't treat us as first time customers they treated us as if we had gone there for years. I will be returning when my other pups need check ups & will definitely recommend this office. AV Veterinary Center has been caring for one of our very sick senior rescue dogs. I am beyond impressed with the entire staff, from the ladies at the front to the vet techs in the back, everyone is great at what they do and so very friendly. They have been calling me twice a day with updates and always happy to answer any questions I may have. Dr. Sandhu is amazing and so caring with all his patients. I am extremely thankful to have this type of Veterinarian in our area!

As much as we appreciate the hard working and amazing staff here, we feel we were taken for a ride financially. Instead of telling us our dog was full of cancer during surgery (and being humane by not waking him) the doctor removed his spleen, stitched him up and kept him for 2 days. All the while knowing our dog wouldn't live much longer. That is, unless we were to do chemo at a price that just want affordable for us and would only give an extra 4 months (maybe) So we brought Bo home. He did OK for a few days then the decline. Watching your family member slowly die, day by day and lose the spark he once had was totally uncalled for. It's hard to remember all of the good times when your pets slow death and how he couldn't greet us anymore, how he looked so sad and just wanted to feel better is what is recalled. The goof ups the day we said good bye at the hospital. All of this could have been avoided by one decision- to not pick the pockets of a client. When all was said and done we spent over $5000. This decision has put us through so much emotional pain and our Bo shouldn't have had to endure 10 days of hanging on when he could have gone peacefully. I can't and won't recommend AV Vet Center until they change their policy of informing owners when there really isn't hope for their pet. Think about the patient and the family instead of how much money you can make.

These guys are absolutely the best, accommodating people ever. In such a sad time for my family these doctors and nurses help Jazz to be comfortable, let us sit with her for the last two hours and wait for Jazz's other parents come and say their final goodbyes, and brought us chocolate while we waited in a private room. The doctors here explain everything thoroughly, I can tell they actually care, and my animals have always been treated very well. Danielle and the other staff are always very sweet. I was travelling from Phoenix to Paso Robles for a trade show. My little Frenchie travels with me everywhere. About 40 miles outside of Lancaster, she went to sit up and her eyes started twitching rapidly and her head was tilting. I thought it was a seizure. It really scared me. She's never done that before. Anyway, I called this clinic and I got her right in. They are a wonderful group of people. They did all kinds of testing and found out she has vestibular disease. She had to stay 4 days while I went to my trade show. I would recommend them highly.

These amazing people truly care about animals. I found a cat and her eye was out. My fiance and I brought in this tiny tiny kitten and they were slammed that night, but they still made us feel like the only people in the office! They were far too kind over the next 2 days while I called and checked in on the kitten, the following days after we got her home and I called paranoid, and I know they'll be amazing when we get her stitches out. They are very caring people and they have great customer service. We were very blessed to have them that crazy Sunday night!! <3

My sweet female husky was attacked on our evening walk by one of two dogs who broke open the gate to their yard. She suffered bites to her right thigh, one of which was quite deep and was bleeding. My male husky just stood there like a doof while "his wife" was attacked leaving me to wrestle this angry dog off her. This happened in the evening when our local Ridgecrest veterinary clinics had just closed. I rushed her south to your facility arriving about 9:30 pm. There was essentially no wait time before "our daughter" was led to your ER. An hour later she was leaving, her thigh shaved to reveal more bites than we initially knew she suffered, and some staples in the deep bite that bled the most. We were given prescription antibiotics in the form of a dog treat so no hiding pills in food or cramming pills down her throat. How nice! The wounds healed fine and we had the staples removed locally though the poor girl was not happy during the long car ride home. The bill for this was much less than expected. A dental cleaning up here costs more. Your facility is spotless, the staff friendly and welcoming and the service we received was simply outstanding. I sure don't want this to ever happen again but it is good to know that if it does you are there to patch up and heal our precious four legged kids.

I have to tell you, in a time of great sadness and loss, AV Veterinary Center came through like angels. Every staff member's professionalism, mixed in with a very healthy dose of humanity and compassion for both my baby and us, was crucial to me. The detailed care and results were beyond incredible. I went to AV on a Sunday night with a kitten that couldn't breath well. This kitten had been diagnosed with felines leukemia previously. It was a very difficult time for me. Rubbers was very sick and in pain so the best choice for him was to rest in peace. The staff was great, very understanding and caring. Treated both me and my kitten as if we were their only concern. Gave me time to say goodbye in a back room that was setup nicely, not a cold exam room. Wrapped Rubbers in a blanket, treated him like a person with loving care. This was a sad and difficult situation. I would recommend them to anyone that cares for their pet. They were great and the costs were reasonable. Thank you for handling us with care.

My experience here was very disturbing. I have no doubt that the Doctor was very knowledgeable and capable as a physician., which makes what I experienced even worse. There is absolutely NO doubt that this Doctor is ONLY in business to make money, he can care less about your pets well-being. Not only was this witnessed, so was the unprofessional behavior of the staff, one woman in particular was extremely unprofessional and rude, actually dismissing the urgency of our dogs condition and even after less than 1/2 hour later (when he died) no apology was given, she maintained her smug attitude. I will never un-live the unnecessary pain caused by this place!!!

Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you that I’m normally a chill guy. Very few things faze me. But last year, when my dog got weak and stopped eating, I was damn near on the verge of tears the whole time. I called my mom who lives 40 minutes away in Lancaster and told me to take the dog to AV Vet Center. I did, and they told me he had a stomach infection. I left him there overnight reluctantly add picked him up the following day. Today, my dog, Jasper is healthy and playful. Thank you, AV Vet.

I learned about AV Veterinary Center from my colleague at work. He told me it was the best decision he’s made for his pets in his life. I agree. I can say the same thing. Going to AV Veterinary Center for the first time changed not just the life of our dog, who has been battling with a chronic illness, but also our lives. Today, we no longer need to buy meds on a regular basis or take him to the vet once a month. Vet visits are now four months apart. And our dog seems revitalized. That’s all a pet owner like me can ask for.

My dog died last year in AV Veterinary Center. Truth is he was 12 years old and nearly blind. His heart was about to give and the doctors at the clinic told me there wasn’t anything they could do. Heartbreaking as it was, I just told the people at AV Veterinary Center to at least take away the pain. And they did. If I had to go through it all again, I’d still choose that same clinic filled with compassionate people.

He was a pup and was bitten by my neighbor’s much bigger dog. They stitched him right up and held him in confinement for a day. I couldn’t sleep but one of the staff members texted me to assure me everything was fine. I’ll never forget that.

They have the equiptment if your animal has an emergency and your pet needs more complicated proceedures. My cat needed oxygen therapy and i was sent to them by All Creatures after the vet administered a lasix injection at that hospital. They kept him over night and advised me it would be better to leave him at their hospital a little longer but i wouldnt. My cat is terminal and im having him euthanized in a few days at home. Im just keeping him comfortable and being in the hospital stresses him out. That was the only problem i had with them. I told them they were not going to save him because hes got a very enlarged left atrium and his heart can barely pump blood anylonger. I also told them hes more comfortable at home and i could see he was very scared in the oxygen cage. Not what i wish for his last days. The hospital is high priced but the equiptment they have is expensive to buy and to run. So if you just need vaccinations for your pet i would find somewhere else to go. But if you can afford it and your pet has something more complicated going on with their health its a good option. The other thing i noticed is that when i left my cat for the night i left his medications. I had just refilled his lasix at All Creatures and he was given injections at both vet hospitals. The bottle said they dispensed 28 pills but when i got home there were only 20 pill in the bottle. I dont know for sure but its possible someone took 8 lasix pills at AV Veterinary. They also kept all my cats medical records that i had with me. I will request for them to be returned.

We drove her to AV Veterinary Center on a Sunday evening. After seeing Dr. Sandhu they wanted to keep her through the night since it was about 8:30 pm by the time we were seen. I told Dr. Sandhu we were from Ridgecrest and asked if there was any way we could wait for her and not leave her through the night. He was very kind and agreed to that and said he would work her in between the surgeries he had to do. Everyone was very kind and thorough. Our pup was understandably anxious, so after her blood work the staff asked me to come back and place a muzzle on her so they could do the sedation. She was calm when I went back and I was able to place the muzzle and leash with no problems. I was very grateful that they involved me in her care and comfort. We were able to wait in the very comfortable waiting room while our pup received her treatment. She ended up with eleven staples. Afterwards, the techs were very thorough in explaining aftercare and the front desk staff was very helpful with paperwork and bill payment. I would definitely recommend this emergency vet to anyone in the area.

Dr. Sandhu and his staff are so amazing. Dr. Sandhu performed a back surgery on my baby Cody. Him and his staff showed so much care and love on my Cody. They call me morning and night to give status and updates on Cody’s condition. They even sent me pictures of Cody on a daily basis to cheer me up. All the staff are friendly and awesome.
I have three dogs and I always take them in this facility even though it’s quite a drive. Because I’m very confident that all my babies are in great hands of Dr. Sandhu and his amazing staff.

I have been here several times with my rescued pit bulls. The staff is amazing! They are understanding of my dog’s trust issues and do everything they can to accommodate. I really appreciate that. The doctors and the facility itself is top notch and it’s open 24 hours! I even tell my friends to drive from LA if they have an emergency that can afford the hour drive. You won’t get taken advantage of because it’s after 6 pm here. I’m thankful to have found this hospital!

And recently, a dog got loose post surgery and was found dead in a field in the desert.

We arrived at 0150 and was seen right away. The staff was caring and gave our dog with a visual examination. She was then seen by the Vet. The diagnosis: "Your pup is in heat and suffering from inflammation. I can give her an injection to reduce the inflammation. We took that option. We arrived home at 0400. Too bad Ridgecrest doesn't have a pet ER.

I took my dog there for a torn nail, the doctor came to see my dog in my presence (approximately 30 seconds) looked at the nail, didn't even touch ,confort or talk to the dog, he then sent a bill of 210$ ( for cutting the nail, an injection for pain and a bandage ) and i had to sign before they could take care of my dog.
They took my dog for 30 minutes and brought it back once i signed an other paper. My only concern is the way everything is about big money, without even considering the dog as a dog.
To me, it's a shame

I feel they take advantage of your emotions financially. The doctor (or staff) did update us throughout my dog's surgery but I think the price of the procedure was a bit much. Since it was an emergency and was frightened, I was willing to pay. The staff is fine but feel they could be a little more compassionate instead of "sign here" or "you owe" . A little bedside manner could go a long way.

The time had come for my Chet to move on and I checked online for the vet offices open late. This was the third office I called and they were so kind over the phone that I decided to go there. When we arrived they were so compassionate and concerned; they got us in right away to a private room that was candlelit and very comfortable and peaceful. They gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye and when it was time the Dr came. The Dr was so peaceful and calming as well...he stroked Chet's paw and was so respectful of him and what we were all experiencing. I can't thank the Dr and his staff enough for their compassion pond professionalism; they made this horrible experience go as easily as it could. On 12/21/16 a freak accident happened and we had to rush our Sofie to a vet. It was 8pm & we had to find a 24 hr vet that was open. We brought Sofie here and the staff was amazing. I was a emotional wreck & they were so compassionate, caring & understanding. They had a private room for us to sit & say our good byes to Sofie & let us stay for as long as we needed. They didn't treat us as first time customers they treated us as if we had gone there for years. I will be returning when my other pups need check ups & will definitely recommend this office. AV Veterinary Center has been caring for one of our very sick senior rescue dogs. I am beyond impressed with the entire staff, from the ladies at the front to the vet techs in the back, everyone is great at what they do and so very friendly. They have been calling me twice a day with updates and always happy to answer any questions I may have. Dr. Sandhu is amazing and so caring with all his patients. I am extremely thankful to have this type of Veterinarian in our area!

As much as we appreciate the hard working and amazing staff here, we feel we were taken for a ride financially. Instead of telling us our dog was full of cancer during surgery (and being humane by not waking him) the doctor removed his spleen, stitched him up and kept him for 2 days. All the while knowing our dog wouldn't live much longer. That is, unless we were to do chemo at a price that just want affordable for us and would only give an extra 4 months (maybe) So we brought Bo home. He did OK for a few days then the decline. Watching your family member slowly die, day by day and lose the spark he once had was totally uncalled for. It's hard to remember all of the good times when your pets slow death and how he couldn't greet us anymore, how he looked so sad and just wanted to feel better is what is recalled. The goof ups the day we said good bye at the hospital. All of this could have been avoided by one decision- to not pick the pockets of a client. When all was said and done we spent over $5000. This decision has put us through so much emotional pain and our Bo shouldn't have had to endure 10 days of hanging on when he could have gone peacefully. I can't and won't recommend AV Vet Center until they change their policy of informing owners when there really isn't hope for their pet. Think about the patient and the family instead of how much money you can make.

These guys are absolutely the best, accommodating people ever. In such a sad time for my family these doctors and nurses help Jazz to be comfortable, let us sit with her for the last two hours and wait for Jazz's other parents come and say their final goodbyes, and brought us chocolate while we waited in a private room. Today marks a year that our smallest family member passed away. Thanks for supporting us that day.

The doctors here explain everything thoroughly, I can tell they actually care, and my animals have always been treated very well. Danielle and the other staff are always very sweet. I haven't had an experience nearly as wonderful elsewhere. Best animal clinic in the AV!

I was travelling from Phoenix to Paso Robles for a trade show. My little Frenchie travels with me everywhere. About 40 miles outside of Lancaster, she went to sit up and her eyes started twitching rapidly and her head was tilting. I thought it was a seizure. It really scared me. She's never done that before. Anyway, I called this clinic and I got her right in. They are a wonderful group of people. They did all kinds of testing and found out she has vestibular disease. She had to stay 4 days while I went to my trade show. I would recommend them highly.

First it is wonderful that AV Vet. Ctr. is 24/7 especially on a Sunday. I was happy to find an open clinic and so close from home. The staff are caring, welcoming and professional they made it easer for me to leave my baby (cat) Patches. I miss him and hope he gets better to bring him home soon.

These amazing people truly care about animals. I found a cat and her eye was out. My fiance and I brought in this tiny tiny kitten and they were slammed that night, but they still made us feel like the only people in the office! They were far too kind over the next 2 days while I called and checked in on the kitten, the following days after we got her home and I called paranoid, and I know they'll be amazing when we get her stitches out. They are very caring people and they have great customer service. We were very blessed to have them that crazy Sunday night!! <3

My sweet female husky was attacked on our evening walk by one of two dogs who broke open the gate to their yard. She suffered bites to her right thigh, one of which was quite deep and was bleeding. My male husky just stood there like a doof while "his wife" was attacked leaving me to wrestle this angry dog off her. This happened in the evening when our local Ridgecrest veterinary clinics had just closed. I rushed her south to your facility arriving about 9:30 pm. There was essentially no wait time before "our daughter" was led to your ER. An hour later she was leaving, her thigh shaved to reveal more bites than we initially knew she suffered, and some staples in the deep bite that bled the most. We were given prescription antibiotics in the form of a dog treat so no hiding pills in food or cramming pills down her throat. How nice! The wounds healed fine and we had the staples removed locally though the poor girl was not happy during the long car ride home. The bill for this was much less than expected. A dental cleaning up here costs more. Your facility is spotless, the staff friendly and welcoming and the service we received was simply outstanding. I sure don't want this to ever happen again but it is good to know that if it does you are there to patch up and heal our precious four legged kids.

I went to AV on a Sunday night with a kitten that couldn't breath well. This kitten had been diagnosed with felines leukemia previously. It was a very difficult time for me. Rubbers was very sick and in pain so the best choice for him was to rest in peace. The staff was great, very understanding and caring. Treated both me and my kitten as if we were their only concern. Gave me time to say goodbye in a back room that was setup nicely, not a cold exam room. Wrapped Rubbers in a blanket, treated him like a person with loving care. This was a sad and difficult situation. I would recommend them to anyone that cares for their pet. They were great and the costs were reasonable. Thank you for handling us with care.

My experience here was very disturbing. I have no doubt that the Doctor was very knowledgeable and capable as a physician., which makes what I experienced even worse. There is absolutely NO doubt that this Doctor is ONLY in business to make money, he can care less about your pets well-being. Not only was this witnessed, so was the unprofessional behavior of the staff, one woman in particular was extremely unprofessional and rude, actually dismissing the urgency of our dogs condition and even after less than 1/2 hour later (when he died) no apology was given, she maintained her smug attitude. I will never un-live the unnecessary pain caused by this place!!!
