I took my 11 month boxer here who suddenly became sick. The staff and doctor are wonderful. First it was Sunday 10pm at night. I just so happened to get lucky they became open 24 hours on the weekend. They had a very reasonable visit fee of $50. My Pearl's treatment was a little outside my budget so they came up with a couple options that worked out perfectly for me. Dr. Bosma is a great veterinarian. My 10 week old puppy was extremely sick for over a week and my vet at the time wasn't giving me any answers. After days of expensive tests, they hadn't come to any conclusions, and a friend recommended that I contact Dr. Bosma. He asked thorough questions and diagnosed my dog within minutes, sending her medication to my pharmacy that evening. Within 24 hours my pup was back to her normal self, and I couldn't have been more relieved. I am so grateful for his dedication to his work, and his willingness to help. My only to go to Veterinarian in the Antelope Valley. This is my 5th year, never an issue. Always friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. I highly recommend North Valley Veterarian for you as well. Top notch! We have been bringing our dogs here over 10 years. The Dr knows his stuff. And it doesn't matter what kind of dog, or animal. The staff is great and caring. They will even bring you in the side door, if your pet needs. Parking isn't the best, but they are worth you struggle. Your pet will be treated properly. Read Less

4 stars because I love it here.  Been coming here since I was 11 with my dogs and I'm now 31.  Dr Hirschbein and Bosma have both been great to my dogs. I also really like the bearded Latin man who is a vet tech, he's really great with my GSD who is about 130lbs. and he loves him every time we go there.Front office staff is hit or miss, sometimes they're rude sometimes they're nice.  Rudest one thus far was Candi (salt n' pepper) older lady, I dont think she works there anymore.  That's why i'm giving 4/5 stars. This is the best vet in the AV hands down. I take all my dogs and my dwarf bunny to them and they always take great care of them. It's so hard to find a vet that treats "exotic" animals but this one is the best. And when I had to have one of my dogs euthanized they handled me and my baby with great care and sympathy. I do miss the old staff but I wouldn't dream of taking my animals anywhere else. Read Less

I really have nothing bad to say.  They explained everything to me before hand and the price I was quoted was the price I paid.  When I got my dog back after her surgery she was her regular self.  She wasn't scared or overly excited to see me.  I got the feeling they took great care of my dog.  She is now healing up great and has had zero issues.  I would highly recommend this vet and their spay services to anyone.  Thank you North Valley Veterinary Clinic for taking such good care of Bailey! I had to take my 6 year old shih tzu in for a professional teeth cleaning this week because he was at a stage 3-4... severe dental issues! I was terrified at the thought of putting him under anesthesia, after reading stories online about pets that didn't survive cleanings. I peppered the staff with endless questions about the procedure to relieve my anxieties, and everyone was patient and helpful throughout the entire process. The teeth cleaning went smoothly with one extraction and all seems well. What a relief! Dr. Bosma was patient and unrushed when he came out to speak to me at the end, that made a difference. We've been at this clinic with our dogs 11 years - the prices are always fair, the staff amazing - and Dr Bosma very caring. He has respected my desire for more holistic options, and understands if I ask for something other than standard procedure. I do my best to communicate my concerns and what is going on with my pets and ask questions they will explain and work with us. Pricing has always been reasonable and I appreciate his insistence on certain tests for a senior dog because how can you treat without knowing what's going on? His calm manner is appreciated as I would always be nervous bringing our Pit Bull in the office. The staff would help me anyway possible so I could get the care my dog needed. Dr. Bosma and his amazing staff made our Kasey's trip to heaven an amazing experience. They all made us feel so comfortable and welcome and we felt completely at ease to be there for such a difficult time.....to send our beloved shephard, Kasey, to heaven. We could not have asked or dreamt of a better experience, given it was such an awful thing to go through. The prayer that Dr. Bosma offered while we all held hands as Kasey took her last breaths.......well, it was perfect. So, being there with all of them made a bad, bad moment....memorable in a good way. The good doctor explained what was happening to us very clearly and kindly. No judgment, just a feeling of welcome and experienced guidance. Also, the entire staff is very, very compassionate about animals and their welfare. They truly care about each and every animal and their owners that step through their door. And now, they are taking tender care of a baby puppy that was abandoned and left for dead....that will soon be coming home with me!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I took my puppy in healthy as ever for shots & neutering and 2 days later my baby started vomiting, diarrhea and stopped eating and drinking. I took him back to be checked out and the doctor took some fecal smears and they said he had a bacterial infection and prescribed medication that I gave him as soon as I got home. That same night and next day he was still vomiting and I tried to give him the medication again and he couldn't keep it down. The next day he was sicker than ever and I took him to the ER and they pronounced him with SEVERE parvo and said he wouldn't make it. I put him down to sleep and have been an emotional wreck ever since. I do not recommend this place to ANYONE!!!! Please do your research on clinics and be aware that your dog could be in serious, serious danger. I lost my little angel. Read Less

It's sad to say but sometimes I care about animals more than people...Just kidding...but really though dogs are awesome. Took my 8 year old cocker spaniel for his annual teeth cleaning and now that he's "older" it was a little more expensive than previous times. Just to give you an idea... a regular teeth cleaning is around $78 bucks. This isn't including any extras for an "older" dog or blood work.Yes it's a little pricey here but I feel like they take care of my dog really well. Especially Omar he's great with all animals and seems to know how to calm my dog down when he's having a panic attack for being at the vet's office (he hates it btw). I've been a fan of North Valley Vet. Clinic for years, they've seen me through my 14 year old Cocker Spaniel to my current 3 year old border collie. The staff is very informative and helpful. They really do care about what's best for your pet.Dr. Bosma and Dr. Sanders understand that while we all want the best for our pets we work within a budget. I've never had another vet give me an incredibly priced procedure (very terrible hang nail) and as soon as they saw my face said, "Is that too much? Let's see what we can do." With some much appreciated discounts and a few tweeks to what he needed the price was reduced to something that didn't ensure I would be eating ramen for the next month lol. I only don't give the last star because some of their procedures could do with a price reduction. $100.00 for a feral cat spay/neuter not including vaccinations is not a discount. Even though it did help that there was no appointment necessary. They are among the more expensive vets but they WILL try to work with you and the best part is that they've never recommended something that my pets didn't need. When someone tells me they are looking for a regular vet I always recommend they at least consider this place. Read Less
