I must say that I am totally disgusted with the service or shall I say “non-service” I received today. I had scheduled an appointment for today at3:30 to get some shots for my dog. I arrived a little early just to be on time. I waited a whole hour and was not seen yet so I asked if this is typical to wait this long for shots. I was told that there were several emergencies in the morning and they were backed up. I was told that I was next in line. Well, someone else was called soon after. As a matter of fact, three people that came in after me, were called in to be seen. I decided to cancel my appointment and I was knocked off ny feet when I was asked if I wanted to reschedule! I have taken three pets to Critter Creek and they are always able to get them in quickly. They don’t pressure you to do things that aren’t completely necessary and are always good with my animals. Recently, my 15 year old cat suddenly became very sick and when I called crying they made room for her immediately. Brought Peanut in today for annual vaccinations, and general health check up, since he had been exhibiting pain lately! Peanut is a rescued Shi Tzu mix that thinks if he yells loud enough, he will get anything he wants!! He yelled the whole time we were there!! Dr. Morrow and the staff were very understanding and patient with him! Doctor Morrow explained in detail what he determined to be Peanuts issues, and said to let him know if the medications that he prescribed worked or not. I'm shocked to see this place has a low rating on Yelp, where I would be to differ.  With our experience today, Sterling Pointe Veterinary Clinic deserved the lowest rating possible (Review Posted).  Critter Creek surely proved their Yelp rating wrong! I usually would never consider an establishment under 3 stars but after visiting Sterling Pointe and experiencing a complete lack of empathy and compassion we made a call to Critter Creek and they showed just the opposite.  We had to euthanize our dog today, due to a cancerous mass in her abdomen.  The administrative and medical staff were amazing.  They were very patient with us and very attentive to our needs.  They allowed us the time to process the information and accommodate our dog's needs during her last moments.  They were also very attentive to my families needs! I can't begin to express our gratitude for making an incredibly difficult situation manageable.  We have decided to bring our other dogs to Critter Creek as a result of our experience. Read Less

We love this place!  Took our ailing dog to be seen.  Our pet has lost his appetite, drop from 8 to 3 lbs in weight, and would pass-out a few time a day.  Called the hospital and they got us in on a same-day appointment--saved us the up-charge on an emergency appointment.  At 12 years old, found that our pet has succumbed to his life-long heart murmur ailment.  The vet prescribed heart meds and diuretic for liquid buildup in his lungs... then sent us home with a two month prognosis to live on meds ...however, he lived for nine more!  We also boarded him here for a couple of weekends at reasonable $30/day; he always seemed contented when we picked him back up.  One summer evening when he started to look and act a little better... he finally passed on his own, quietly in our warm home.  Critter Creek sent us a personalized card for our loss a few weeks after.  It was a very nice and comforting gesture.  Thank you, Critter Creek for keeping our boy with us... even for just a few, precious moments longer. We had to have our 17 year old cat looked at due to a bleeding paw. We were able to get into the Critter Creek Veterinary Hospital and found them very accommodating and professional. The staff at Critter Creek are always friendly and helpful. If we have a concern about one of our dogs, they listen to the symptoms or behavior and will ask the Doctor if he wants the pet to be seen. My cat has been a patient at Critter for almost eight years, and has been treated successfully for a serious male urinary problem with Dr. Morrow's recommended care, and treated for other minor problems with perfect outcome. I keep going back. He has treated cats, and other animals, for over thirty years and is a specialist in these dog and cat, and rabbit, illnesses. I trust him with proven confidence. His staff is courteous and friendly, and in the good humor that reassures the pet owner that treatment will be given lovingly and effectively. It is. We typically only go in for medical concerns so I writing my review on two examples. One was when our Lab was caught up in the endless ear infection cycle. We had been thru 3 or so episodes with our previous vet and it wasn't stopping. Finally, We tried critter creek out and they didn't mess around . The showed us exactly how to clean his ears (previous vet never took the time to do this) and also gave us ample antibiotics all of which stopped the money/ear infection cycle. Second review was today for my older dog. They got him in right away and got straight to the issue and a manageble solution without endless extensive tests. In my case this was 2 lumps that required testing and his cause for yelping which was Arthritis. I absolutely love that the Doctor is down to earth, some humor and isn't looking to empty my pockets with extensive testing which I didn't want anyway. I asked about the costs of the procudures but the Doctor right away reassured me , made me laugh and made it all a pleasant experience. Perfect Vet for us! Thank you!Read Less

(I wrote the following review shortly after moving to this area; since then I have adopted a kitten and recently took her and my now almost 11 y/o "Nettie Rose" to Critter Creek Vet.) An obese middle aged indoor cat with an unknown skin problem and her new to the area devoted human escort,( that would be me ) first went to Critter Creek Veterinary Hospital because it was conveniently located in the shopping center where I banked. That was over a year ago. I continue to trust the care of my 9 y/o "Nettie Rose" to the staff at CCVH because they have earned that trust. They and Dr Morrow are courteous, competent, caring and "critter knowledgeable"' I am grateful that I found them! I brought my two year old Maltese, Bentley, here to have anal gland surgery.  I arrived at 7:30 a.m. and the Dr. who was scheduled to perform the surgery was not there.  I was told that another Dr. would do the work (won't mention names).  I was uneasy about the switch, but decided that we were there and he was in dire need of having this procedure done.  I called to see how he was at 1:00 p.m. and was told everything went well and he was recovering.  I came to pick him up at 4:30 p.m. and was asked to pay and was given his meds.  I asked to speak to the Dr. as I had some questions about the condition of the anal glands.  It was only then that I was informed by him that there had been an "accident" and that during the procedure his scalpel slipped and that he had perforated Ben's rectum wall.  To "repair" (stitch) the rectum he had to cut the muscle to relax the rectum.  The Dr. warned us about possible incontinence, blah, blah, blah.  I couldn't hear anything after that.  Needless to say, I was devastated.  Not only did Ben have two anal glands surgically removed, he now had a perforated rectum and the rectum muscle all cut up.  We took Bentley home and watched the agony over the course of the next two days.  Sunday morning at 3:00 a.m. we took him to Loomis Hospital and had him put down.  When I wrote the owner/doctor of Critter Creek (won't mention name), he took NO, I reiterate NO, responsibility for a total lack of medical veterinary competence and basic animal care!  Beside losing my sweet companion and best friend, I was never offered recompensation even for the botched up surgery!!!  I have never shared this account with anyone.  It was always too painful to address it, even now. Do not take your pets here! I called and scheduled an appointment to have my dog's vaccines brought up to date and have a dental exam. About an hour before her appointment, her stomach became upset and she vomited. I called the clinic to ask them if I should bring her in another day since she wasn't feeling well. They suggested I bring her in for a "wellness exam" to figure out what the upset stomach was from. I explained to them that I knew why her stomach was upset (she ate a little too ripe of an avocado) and that I would prefer to just give her the day to feel better and bring her in for her shots the next day. The doctor insisted I come in. I didn't feel comfortable ignoring their advice, so I brought her in. Long story short, they charged me $25 for a "wellness examination" and the doctor suggested I get a intramuscular shot for her. She had only had an upset stomach for less than 2 hours! I told him I didn't want to "jump the gun" so to speak, and that I'd prefer to wait at least the night. The doc seemed irritated and was condescending. He made multiple comments that upset me including "you really shouldnt let things like this go because she is small". I just wanted to give her doggy stomach a chance to work it out.. btw its now been about 3 hours since she last vomited and she is keeping fluids and food down.. He said "well, I don't know why you came all the way down here then.." I said " actually my appointment was to get her up to date on her shots and dental exam... YOU insisted she be seen for the vomiting" he seemed confused as if he had no idea what I was talking about. When the vet assitant came in to give my dog her shots, she was so careless it was infuriating! She grumbled at my dog for not holding still when she wasn't even holding her at all and had to explain to ME how to hold her down while she gave her 2 shots that left her bleeding. The assistant didn't even try consoling her. Also, when her temperature was taken, she jumped two feet in the air because the girl (without even touching her to warn her) shoved the thermometer up her butt. Fianally,upon checking out they tried charging me for her heartworm prevention even though I mentioned THREE times that I was getting her meds online. I never write negative Yelp reviews. But this place deserves worse than that. Also, they gave me a quote of over $500 for a dental.. Cirby Sunrise in Roseville is doing the SAME dental work for just about $240. Do yourself and your dog a favor. Find a facility with more caring, open eared staff. Read Less

I brought my dog in for dental surgery,  and there had been a mix-up over the quoted price.  The Dr. was not reachable at the time,  and I needed to get to work,  plus my dog had stopped eating and lost significant weight. I went ahead and told them to proceed with the surgery.  When I came to pick him up, they'd done excellent work,  and the Dr. had been reached and authorized the bill to be at the quoted rate. I would not even give them a star took my older female chihuahua there for the initial first exam that was supposed to be free to get checked we rescued two pups on side of road the male got loose and connected with the female she's been showing pregnancy signs, well upon him actually doing the exam she growled so he wouldn't touch her just told us oh it's to early well within a week she gained a pound and had just changed drastically, called to complain about the fact he really didn't do an exam they said bring her back we will get you taken care of, ok so I did after much convincing because truthfully I rather have gone somewhere else that would have done the first one right the first time but the girl convinced me then after he finally did do the exam right was told well yeah now you have to pay ok excuse me had you done the appt right the first time this wouldn't have happened I had stuff needing to be done and still came back in to the same doctor who refused to touch her the first time. I've worked in vet offices and know you can muzzle, have the assistant come in which is why they are there he did not do that. I think they just wanted the money and think it's wrong I will no be returning and fighting the charge should have been done correct first and foremost!! This place is garbage. All they want is money from you and offer no solution to your pets needs, just temporary fixes. They charged me for pills for my dog because because she kept having loose stool. It temporarily fixed the problem but the day she took her last pill she had diarrhea again. Their solution was an expensive dog food and more pills. I bought them because they said they could refund me for both if it didn't work. When I went home I decided to just feed her rice and chicken instead and her stool is back to normal! Go figure, no pills necessary (figured her issue was the brand of dog food we were feeding her). Now that we want a refund for the useless temporary-fix pills they said they wouldn't give us our money back. I really wanted to trust this vet office but looking back on all the things they charged us for (also gave my dog a shot that would fix her for a week, another $50), I realized that they are money hungry like all other cheap businesses. All they could've said is try some home remedy solutions and instead just tried scamming us for more money. I don't recommend this place when they lie to you so you can buy more pills and not offer a refund when they clearly said they would when I purchased them. Read Less

I've been going to see Dr. Morrow since I was a little girl. He has always had the friendliest staff (human, feline and canine). Willing to answer questions from an "overprotective" mom of three felines. Recently had dental work on all 3 feline babies (aged 14, 14, and 2 years old) and was worried, as they all were having extractions. Dr. Morrow took x-rays, saw that their roots were good and no teeth pulled! I was a very happy camper, as I'm sure Jubilee, Angelo and Armani were too! Thank you for being so friendly! This vet is terrible! We took our brand new 10week old puppy in who they diagnosed with parvo. When I got there to see my puppy he was in a cage in a back room that was filthy and next to a running washer and dryer. They would've left him there alone all night (they have no night staff). I made calls and got him to a 24hr care hospital which is what he needed for a chance at survival. If this was a decent vet, they would've let us know that they didn't have to resources necessary to care for our ill pup and let us know of places he could go to. Instead no options were given until asked because they said, "most people don't want that because it costs more". Critter creek you need to focus on the health of the animals and not the money. LOVE Critter Creek Vet Hospital. I had to take my 13 yr old cat into this office because my usual vet is fairly far away and I couldn't get in to see them that day. She really needed to be seen quickly so I was very glad to have found CC because they were able to get her in that day! The vet tech Kristy was SO sweet and caring! Dr. Morrow has an excellent bedside manner. They both answered all of my questions thoroughly and I felt that they would have stayed with me and answered questions for me as long as I needed. I just happened to stumble upon this place when looking to get a rabies vaccine for my dog. My reception was extremely friendly. . .that's important. When I met Dr. Morrow, he was totally professional and highly educated in this field. Se he never does anything he believes the animal doesn't need. . .it's not about the money. . .it's about giving to the community and helping those who are sincere in caring for their animals. ALL the techs and assistants are extremely friendly. They are my family. . .anytime I have a problem w/ my animals, I have no problem as a walk in. As for the money, I will walk out w/o an estimate because I know they won't overcharge for unnecessary procedures. I'm always amazed at how inexpensive the stay of my animal is. I have been going here for years now. My dog loves the atmosphere and always comes home in a good mood. Where other dog walkers/groomers treat their ""clients"" just as a meal ticket, Johnny and Ty truly take an interest in knowing and caring for the the dogs in their care. I recommend them to everyone who cares about their pet. You really get your money?s worth on the dog walking and overnight stays. I have used other kennels prior and it takes my dog a week to forgive me when I get back to town. With Johnny and Ty she doesn't want to come home!! I highly recommend them!!! Read Less
