Our dog had a tear in her uterus and went into premature delivery. She lot 3 pups by the time we arrived. The staff and doctor did an outstanding job in delivering via c-section the remaining pups. They killed my dog. I took him for a teeth cleaning. While my dog was under anesthesia, the vet decided to take a phone call in another room, leaving my dog with a mildly trained intern for roughly "10 or so minutes" (that's what he said). I later found out the call wasn't an emergency. Which leaves me to wonder why he took the call anyway. Once my dog was dead NO ONE from the vet called us. It wasn't until my wife called to check on him, did they tell us our dog was dead (and had been for at least 30 minutes). Once we got there, I asked the intern what happened since she was the only one in the room with my dog when he died, and she couldn't give me a straight answer. Kept stumbling over her words saying I'm sorry and "I don't know". They volunteered to do an autopsy, which I declined, but my wife decided to do one with them. I told them that I wanted another place, any place but them to do the autopsy because I didn't trust them at this point. What they ended up doing was the autopsy themselves, and tried to blame it on "potential heart problems". We asked what does "potential heart problems" mean, and he said that my dog possibly had an enlarged heart... once again asking to explain...and he said he couldn't but for us to know the "he's sorry for the accident". For one, my dog was very healthy, had no heart problems. Second, before they did his teeth cleaning, they did a screening which we had to pay extra for, to make sure he was good to be put under anesthesia. Not only was all test good, we were told he was in good health. So to hear AFTER THEY KILLED MY DOG, that he believes my dog had health problems is bullshit. I recently got a dog who was spayed by another vet out of town. That vet had used metal sutures. My husband had taken our dog in to get them removed. Dr Megan showed show much compassion for our big girl. I had to take her back in today because she was having some issues from where the sutures were removed. Our dog seen Dr Megan today. She was so awesome with our dog and listened to my concerns. The lady weighting our dog was so patient trying to get our big girl on the scale since she is quite large. So it made it a little hard to read her weight. The girls were also great when I called both times to schedule appointments. The warm greetings we received when we walked in were also wonderful. My family feels great having our fur babies in the care of Country Vet. Read Less

Over the last 30 years my family has done business with Jerry Long / Country Vet. The last 7 years I have only used Country vet as a last resort. I was not impressed with the veterinarians on staff. Their abilities, knowledge and compassion with goats. They treated me as if they were just livestock and a number. Every goat has a name! They are just as special to me as a dog is to someone else. This last year I have had the pleasure to work with the best veterinarian ever, in my opinion, on staff at Country Veterinary Clinic. I don't even know her Doctor name, I know her as Megan! She has treated me and my goats as friends. She respects that my goats are my family and best friends. She doesn't sugarcoat anything. She is just a matter of facts, I love that about her. I hope she doesn't ever leave Country Vet, there is no need for me to go else where as long as she is there. Thank You Jerry Long for hiring her! It's with a heavy heart that I give this review. Growing up near CVC I was raised to know and love Dr. Long. My entire family and local friend base use CVC because of Dr. Long. He's knowledgeable and very informative. He has now mostly retired and handed over his practice to younger newer Vet's. The last year I have dealt with a young blond cowgirl type. I will not be returning to CVC. CVC has lost my file with pet info several times, even after I have witnessed 3 times my file being made. This week I was supposed to bring my cat in for the 3rd follow up to her not feeling good. The receptionist asked me what the visit was for and I flipped my lid. I realized I didn't know. This new vet hasn't told me anything except how much my total was! She's been fed antibiotics, steroids, etc but I have never been told if my cat is sick, dying, or has allergies. This new vet has rolled her eyes at me for crying about my sick cat. I even have seen her analyze my cats xrays with DR. Long AFTER my visit and not brief me on anything. The kicker is calling to find out my next apt has been scheduled during a day that a vet is not in house! They don't care about me or my pet. They only care about the money. I don't see me returning, unfortunately after over 20+ years.Read Less

We have been going here for years for all kinds of dog and cat problems. This place is really great. The other place "in town" is ridiculous and charges $100 just to be seen that day. Country vet is thorough and does most of the lab work on the spot, without the "we'll have to send it out for $400 and wait 4 days". Everyone has been nice and they follow up when they say they will. I agree with the other reviews about the kennels, but I have never seen any better and would consider standard. Read Less

The vet experience here is like none other. It is in a quiet country setting that in of itself puts us and our pets into a calm state of mind, not a clinical, hospital feel. Since or first visit the staff has treated us and our dog Koa like one of their family. Dr Long, Kevin, and all of the vet techs are thoughtful, caring, and without peer on pet knowledge and care. The kennels look like a place that dogs are abandoned and ultimately put down. The kennels were miserably small and uncomfortable looking with a pee/poop hole in the middle. The staff lied to us about what we could give our dog to comfort her while we were away and after driving out to the sticks to see the place, told us she couldn't have any of her own bedding/toys. My girlfriend couldn't forget or feel comfortable leaving our dog in the conditions we observed. There is a small bare outdoor area that the employees supposedly take the dogs out several times a day although I didn't see that happening while I was there and the dogs are left overnight without care/supervision for 14hours. Im not an expert in animal care but we treat our dog like a beloved family member and don't want it neglected/punished just because we go on vacation. Read Less

I have been taking my animals to Country Vet Clinic for over 25 years. The staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable. The vets have changed over the years except for Dr. Long. He has been there every time I needed his help and returning my phone calls to just answer simple questions. Over all the years the new vets that have come have all been great too. I have sent numerous friends to them for the animals care. I would recommend them to anyone needing pet care.Read Less
