They offer great services for those that have kittens and cats. We've been taking our kitten since she was 4 weeks old and she is now 8 months old. Some of the services that we've done on our kitten were deworm, nail trim, flea treatment, vaccinations, and soon she will get spayed. Oh and one more important thing they offer overnight care. I love that this place has extended hours, so I don't have to take off work to take care of my pet. They're very nice, thorough and informative. If there's nothing wrong or something that medication won't help, they say so - no charging for unnecessary services. We even got a free checkup because there was no treatment needed. I needed laser treatments and Ambassador is one of the only clinics that have the K Laser. I was very nervous going to a new clinic because I have a 14 1/2 year old dog with a rare lung disease and the doctors that have been treating her have been so for years. Dr. Herrick was really great and didn't make me put her through any other unnecessary tests before beginning the treatments. Bechoy is the technician that performed her first one and he was amazing! Again...nervous mother...he was very patient and let both my husband and I stay during the process. He answered all of my questions (and continues to do so) in terms I understand and best of all he was very kind and gentle with my doggie. I am able to get him assigned to all of my future treatments which is a huge relief so I don't have to explain her health problems each time and he can help track her progress. Was able to make appointment same day i called. My mom came in for me due to me being on vacation in Mexico, she said they took care of her and my baby Ruca really well, apparently my baby got fleas while I was away! (Wasn't able to get her revolution flea medicine before I left to vacation so opted out for vectra.. did not work at all!!) I guess the fleas got to my baby cause she was feeling down so they gave her an antibiotic shot and put the flea medicine on for my moms.. will definitely come once im back for her vaccines! Ps. Ruca is very hard cat to handle so if they were able to give her an antibiotic and flea medicine there they must handle well!!Thanks you guys :) Read Less

I came in because my 9yr old lab had an ear infection right before vacation. I have been a long time client of this place. He has a history of ear infections. He weighs 136lbs and normally they have sedate him. Before sedation they got me for an xray and blood work "because he was a senior dog $700 later and a perscription of tramadol for pain in neck and two weeks after visit, dog still has ear problems. When I called during vacation doctor did not know what to do and wanted me to get an MRI (an estimate for this was $ 2000). I told care giver for my lab to increase tramadol until I got home. I then called vet and said please prescribe me meds for an ear infection my dog was not comfortable. They wanted me to bring him in and no way was I going to have him sedated again. I took dog to another vet and he had a yeast infection in ear. Very disappointed in this facility Read Less

I am so glad my bf found Ambassador Long Beach Veterinary Hospital. Not only do they have REAL affordable prices and excellent customer service, but they treat us like family! I took my dog to VCA before I found this place and they wanted to charge me like 600 bucks to do an x-ray, heart worm test, and other stuff on my dog. I was very disheartened because no way could I afford that! They even prescribed me meds to give to my dog and it didn't even work. Luckily, we found this place! Dr. Cassidy was very accommodating!! Me and my dog Milo felt super happy to have met her because she told us what was wrong with Milo right away. She didn't charge us as much as VCA so I was really happy that I found a vet that actually cares about your dog and not your money. Even my bf was very satisfied with this vet hospital because after giving my dog the meds that Dr. Cassidy prescribed, he got so much better! After having bad experiences at Pine AH (all about the $$) and Primary Care Animal Hospital I was desperate to find a place that cared as much about my animals as I do and who was not just out to empty my wallet. I looked up vets in my area and I am so happy I called Ambassador! From the moment I scheduled our first appointment I could tell that even the front desk was knowledgeable and caring - so relieving! Front desk asked good questions and got us in later the same day after listening to my concerns - Primary Care had messed us up and we needed help with two sick cats. All Ambassador staff is incredibly caring, knowledgeable and they are very affordable - even more than the places that advertise themselves as such! I first took my dachshund Ginger here when she was 2 years old to have her spayed. About a year ago, her skin appeared to have a bad rash. I called Ambassador and made an appt for that afternnon. They took Ginger, me and my partner in the back and explained that she did have a rash plus an ear infection and gave her a shot and sent us home with some medicine. She seemed to heal fine. 3 months later, the rash reappeared along with a tumor on her left rear leg. We took her back, again they gave her a shot, cut off a small sample of the tumor and took some meds home. We made another appointment for the following week. They called me early the next day and said the tumor was non cancerous. I took her back for the follow up appt. The rash was gone and they told us the tumor should disappear, which it did. This place is the best. They fully explain everything and I feel 100% comfortable taking Ginger here. Read Less

I recently brought my dwarf bunny in for a very horrible eye infection. The doctor was awesome, let me sit in for his shots, and most importantly, my bunny was better within a couple of days! All of the workers are awesome, and they truly care about the health of the animals. It was hard for me to find a vet who treated "exotic pets," so I was very lucky to stumble on this one! Lastly, I suggested this vet to my mom because our cocker spaniel had been coughing and sneezing for years. We took her to three different vets around the lakewood/long beach area, and every doctor assumed it was bronchitis or some sort of cold. No treatments ever worked on her. After my mom took her to this vet, we found out she has an enlarged heart and heart murmurs. No vet had ever told us this before! She had been taking unnecessary medications for months! I am so thankful we finally have a diagnosis! Great vet, great prices. P.S. I felt that I should mention that this vet did not try to give my pets any expensive unnecessary treatments. He gave me exactly what my pet needed. In other words, this vet isn't out to get your money, they are truly there to help your animals! Read Less

I went in concerned for my little one and they were SO compassionate and took my concerns with full consideration. I've been going to various vets in this area for 17 years now and fired more than a few. Costs at Ambassador are reasonable and I've grown to trust the vets. On the scale between Golden State Humane (bottom of the scale at 1) and the high end vets near Belmont Shore (top at 10) I'd put Ambassador at about a 6 in terms of price and operational efficiency. You'll get good care here for a lot less than the pricier options in the area. If you wan to pay top dollar, by all means head to Banfield or Belmont Shore. If you just want a competent vet who doesn't charge massive fees, you'll do well with these guys. Read Less

The doctor that saw our dog during a skin rash was super helpful and friendly. He spoke with me and my son a personal level and provided the personal care for us. Brought my dog here twice in the same week. Was told his stomach problems were just a "sore back" and he was feeling down because it was hot. They gave him a couple different shots and sent me home. Spent almost $1,000 total, called them three times a day for two days trying to get test results, they kept saying the dr. Would call me back and they never did. I ended up having to go to the office in person to get the results. Took him to a different vet the next day and they were shocked at the diagnosis from ambassador. It was his heart, obvious by a significantly slow heart beat which was not detected by ambassador. Read Less

I took my dog here for dog housing. Dropped off for 4 days. What they tell you is that the replace the bedding twice a day. They say it's a relatively large cage for the dogs size. They say they walk the dog 3 times a day. I thought that was really good. When I picked him up he stank as if he'd been sitting in his own urine and feces for four days. When I brought him back home he immediately took a huge dump on the floor. BS. They don't walk the dog nor change the bedding . Maybe they walk the dog once a day at most to keep the stink of feces and urine down (for their own comfort not the animals). It's dog prison. He had feces all over his body it was gross. I let it slide that time. Anyway. I bring in my dog for bowel problems. TWICE!. Two freaking times they told me to give the dog gatorade. I bring him in months apart for the same problem. No medicine. No recommendations on where to take him. Give him glorified soda to cure his ails. Just charge me for a 5 minute visit. I should have taken him somewhere else. Now he's dead. Read Less

My whole family brings their pets here and so do I for the last 7 years they are very good at what they do and very knowledgeable. They actually care in fact when we had to say goodbye to our furbaby they stayed with us way after the closing time and never rushed us to leave. This has been the only trusted we ever encountered.
